There was silence as shock gave way to disbelief and horror. No one could understand how this could be the truth. Finally Shaak Ti's quiet voice cut through the clamor, "Commander Wolffe, is this true?" He nodded numbly, "Please tell us how this came to be."
Wolffe could sense that his General was watching him as he gave the facts. He beat Lyni in hand to hand combat and that was enough for her culture. Leaving out how she had called for Savage, he reported bringing her back to the ship and the precautions they took while she was in the brig.
There was a few minutes of silence after Wolffe's even voice finished the report. Windu spoke up, "You are certain she is to be trusted?" He looked pointedly at Plo Koon.
The Kel Dor Jedi hummed, "Yes, I am certain." Looking directly at his fellow High Council member, "She pushed us away rather than fight. There were no casualties, only bruises after an hour of a cat and mouse game. I believe that was a choice that we can help encourage." The Jedi weren't happy, but they accepted Koons decision. After the meeting wrapped up and the others left, Koon looked over his shoulder at Wolffe, "You were late Commander."
Wolffe nodded, "I was up late painting my armour."
"I heard Lyni brought paint to the quarters you share." It was said offhandedly.
He knew the Jedi was teasing him. Wolffe kept his posture and voice under control, "She helped with the procedure."
Just then the door to the bridge opened and Lyni shyly stepped out. Seeing Wolffe she hurried toward him, holding two mugs. {How had she found a mug that works with the Generals rebreather?} She was in front of them now, and handed the mug with caff over to Wolffe while handing the one with tea over to the General.
Koon spoke, "Thank you."
The girl nodded, "You are welcome," but she was watching Wolffe anxiously. He removed his helmet with his free hand before testing the caff. "Stronger than I expected," he stated.
"I got more for you because you always complain about it being too weak," she hurriedly explained. She looked remarkably like a kitten hoping for a stroke.
Wolffe nodded, "This is much better, thank you." She beamed happily before hurrying back off the bridge.
During the next meeting Wolffe kept sipping his caff and Plo drank his tea. Boost spoke up behind them, "A thoughtful kid." The Jedi General and Clone Commander nodded in agreement. Koon could have said much more on the subject, but was content to allow it to rest.
