The Game:
Ever since Jay overheard the fact that Astrid was none other than Coach Larson's illegitimate daughter, he was not able to sleep peacefully the night before the game, even with Astrid by his side.
When Jay woke up the morning of the gameday, he woke up very early around 6 am. While Jay went to the bathroom and washed his face, he couldn't help but think about what'll happen if Astrid learns the truth about her biological father. Thinking of all the possibilities, which will result in Astrid feeling very distressed and horrified, Jay decided to conceal the fact from her until the time is right.
While Jay brushed his teeth, he saw Astrid wake up from bed.
What Jay didn't know was that Astrid saw Jay being disconcerted while he was sleeping. Seeing Jay feeling unsettled, Astrid thought he needed a little time with her in the shower.
"Hey baby. What's good?" Astrid casually asked.
"Hey baby. I'm alright. Just a little sleep deprived," Jay said.
"You slept for 9 hours. We went to bed at 9 last night. What's running on your mind?" Astrid asked.
"Playing with a different QB than the one I'm used to. I doubt he'll throw the ball to me," Jay claimed.
"Well, in that case, how about we have some time in the shower? Just to loosen you up," Astrid suggested.
"You serious?" Jay asked.
"Why? Because I'm pregnant?" Astrid questioned.
"Not even close. The real reason I'm disconcerted is because my coach had an affair with a divorced woman when he was a teenager. I overheard a conversation where Coach Larson talked to the woman he had an affair with many decades ago," Jay told, leaving out the crucial details.
"Holy shit! So That One Night and the rumors you heard are true?" Astrid asked.
"Yes. Plus, the affair resulted in an illegitimate daughter being born. She's probably about your age. Maybe younger," Jay said.
"Damn. Can you imagine the girl knowing about her biological father? She might be devastated," Astrid said with sympathy.
"I know. When I learned the news, I started to feel disconcerted about it. I looked up to him. And I told myself, don't judge Coach Larson's personal life. I'm not judging right now, but the secret's so terrible to hear about," Jay said.
"Look. Just look at Coach for what he made you into. Not what mistakes he made. Ok? And I'm getting in the shower with you because you need to loosen up," Astrid said, who started to take off her clothes after she stopped speaking.
Looking at Astrid, Jay noticed a small bump on Astrid's belly. Touching it gently, Jay felt his child's heartbeat, which made him feel connected to it.
When Jay and Astrid got in the shower together, they held each other in embrace and had their sensual moment.
After Jay and Astrid had their shower, they got dressed and had their gameday breakfasts, which was pancakes and waffles.
When they finished eating, Jay and Astrid went to their car and drove off to Levi's Stadium.
When both of them arrived at Levi's Stadium, they were met by Issac Martinez.
"What's up man? Nice of you to bring the Missus," Issac said to Jay, while looking at Astrid. "Issac Martinez, huge fan."
"That's right. Man, you really are one type of dude. Jay told me once that you pancaked a guy who hit you in the groin 2 years ago," Astrid said with a little humor.
When both of them laughed at the citation, they were met by Jason, Cecelia, Phillip Halpert, Emily, Phillip Schrute, and Addison.
As both of the were happily discussing, their significant others decided to go out around Santa Clara for a while before the game started.
As the players headed to the locker room, they decided to get warmed up on the field before game day. Putting on their workout clothes and football cleats, Jay and the others headed out to the football field, where they walked through a few offensive plays. While they walked through their final play, which was a trick play called Zeus Lightning, Jay felt extremely focused. He caught the ball and performed the hook and ladder with Jason, resulting in a touchdown.
When they were done warming up, Jay felt a little confident that nothing can go wrong.
- (5:00pm - 20 minutes to kickoff) -
As every player was geared up for the game, they were met by Coach Larson, who is about to give a speech before the start of kickoff.
"Alright boys, listen up! We got an opponent who are much like us! They think they can win because of a legacy left behind by the G.O.A.T! Joke's on them, we all are G.O. in our own right! I don't want you to forget that! Let nobody tell you something different. We'll show these sum-bitches about who we are and what we're made of! And make me proud!" Coach Larson spoke. "Let's bring it in!"
"Hey! We all are G.O. ! Remember that! Let's show Brady's nephew that to become the next G.O.A.T, he's gotta come through us!" Phillip Halpert motivated. "Niners on 3! 1,2,3! Niners!"
As everyone chanted "Niners," all of the players decided to head out to the field, but Coach Larson asked Jay to stay behind.
"Jay, can I talk to you for a minute? Won't take up much of your time," Coach Larson called out.
"Yeah, Coach. What's up?" Jay asked, knowing that Coach Larson is his father-in-law.
"Look, I know you overheard me having a conversation with Astrid's mother in the conference room last night," Coach Larson said, surprising Jay.
"How did you know?" Jay said.
"I overheard you say some curse words after I left the conference room, which made me realize that you were listened," Coach Larson said.
"Coach, I'm really concerned about Astrid right now. She's pregnant," Jay explained.
"That's good to hear. I like the concern. I see you're fitting the role of a responsible and caring husband," Coach Larson said.
"Yeah. Can you do me a favor, though?" Jay asked.
"Sure, what is it?" Coach Larson said.
"Don't tell Astrid that you're her father just yet. Wait till she has her kids and recovers from postpartum depression. She won't be able to take it if she knew just now," Jay said.
"As a coach, I've never broken down on a promise or favor. But as a father who didn't know about the existence of her daughter, I feel it's the least I can do," Coach Larson said.
"Coach, no matter what I heard last night, you're still one of the best coaches I've ever had. Don't let anybody tell you different," Jay said.
As Jay jogged to the football field, Coach Larson decided to jog along with him as well. Although he knew he can't say Astrid is his daughter, he was relieved to know that Jay is on good terms with him.
- (Kickoff - 5:20 pm) -
When the ball was kicked by #8 Jack Thompson of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers for the kickoff of the first half, #11 Jason Scott was placed as the kickoff returner. When Jason caught the ball, he ran forward to the field. Dodging the Tampa Bay kickoff team with almost no trouble, thanks to the 49ers kickoff return team staying on their blocks, Jason Scott scored his 1st kickoff return TD, resulting in the crowd going wild for a quick play.
"Touchdown! San! Fran! Cisco! Jason Scott with the kickoff return TD for 99 yards," said the 49ers sports stadium announcer.
As the players on the PAT got ready for the kick, the long snapper #2 Sean Hyung snapped the ball, resulting in the place kicker #85 Lawrence Hudson to place the ball upright for #1 Shreyas Danthurti to produce an extra point when the kick goes between the two yellow upright poles.
When the 49ers kickoff team kicked the ball, resulting in a touchback, the 49ers' 1st team defense headed on the field, with #82 Jay Sharma and Phillip Halpert included.
#58 Justin Pavlik decided to call the defensive play. "Cover 2, Cover 2. Hit!" Justin said.
As the defensive team decided to line up in a 4-3 formation, Halpert was lined up on Tampa Bay wide receiver #13 Clay Standall. Reading the play based on a motion made by wide receiver #11 Mike Banner, Halpert deduced it was a run play.
"Reverend! Reverend!" Halpert called out to Justin, a code which meant run play.
"Reverend! Reverend!" Justin signaled to the 49ers defensive line and linebackers.
As the ball was snapped by #73 of Tampa Bay, the snap was caught by quarterback #12 Edward Brady, who handed off the ball to running back #31 Gunnar Mostert. Noticing a gap between Tampa Bay offensive lineman on the right, Jay penetrated that gap and tackled Mostert for a loss of 2 yards, putting the ball at the 23 yard line.
"Hey! That's right!" Coach Larson called out to Jay for the tackle for loss.
As the second play of Tampa Bay's drive was about to start, Justin decided to use a man-coverage play.
"Huddle! Cover 2 Man! Cover 2 Man! Hit!" Justin told in the defensive huddle.
As the huddle dispersed again to line up in a 4-3 defensive front, Halpert deduced the next play is a passing play, as he's lined up against #14 Aaron Dempsey.
"Pastor! Pastor!" Halpert called out to Justin.
"Pastor! Pastor!" Justin informed the entire defensive front and linebackers.
As the ball was snapped yet again to Edward Brady, he throws a pass to Dempsey, but was intercepted by Halpert, who returned the interception for a 23 yard defensive touchdown.
With the score being 13-0 with about 12 minutes in the 1st quarter, the crowd went wild.
When the PAT team made another extra point, people are starting to see Edward Brady is frustrated. Noticing the frustration, Halpert was glad that the pressure is on.
With a score of 14-0 with 12 minutes to go in the 1st quarter, the 49ers team felt they have a head start, giving the offensive team to relax.
With the early lead, this gave the 49ers lots of confidence.
When Tampa's 2nd offensive drive started, Halpert and Justin called out run plays or pass plays, resulting in a tackle for loss made by #98 Percival Brewer and 2 sacks by Jay. Forcing a 4th down and 23 yards to get the first down, the punter of Tampa Bay #11 Kevin Chatham punted the ball, only to be caught by 49ers punt returner #44 Nathan Sun. While Nathan returned the punt for 23 yards, the 49ers offensive drive started on the Buccaneers 41-yard line.
With the new starter, #10 Phillip Schrute, the 49er fans felt a little uneasy about putting a new QB in, since they put their faith on Richardson for 3 years.
When #73 Winston Demarius snapped the ball to Schrute, Schrute saw Tampa Bay defense was man-to-man, forcing him to rush. While Schrute evaded the Tampa Bay defense like Kyler Murray, Schrute rushed for a 41-yard touchdown, increasing the score to 20-0 with just 9 minutes remaining in the 1st quarter. This early lead started to frustrate Harry Martin, the head coach of the Buccaneers, much to Coach Larson's delight.
With the early lead, Coach Larson decided to sit out Halpert and Jay for some plays because of their efforts in causing the early lead.
While they sit out about 5 minutes of the game, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers' 3rd offensive drive resulted in a rushing touchdown by Gunnar Mostert. Undaunted, Coach Larson knew that he needs to control the game clock, which he knew was key to win the game. Amused that their drive took only about 17 plays, Coach Larson decided to put Jay on offense.
"Hey, tell Schrute to hand the ball to Hamada. And tell him not to rush it," Coach Larson instructed to Jay.
"You got it,coach" Jay said.
When Tampa Bay kicked off the ball after scoring a touchdown, the 49ers were placed on their own 33-yard line. When Jay instructed Schrute to hand off the ball to Hamada and not rush the clock, Phillip Schrute decided to call the play.
"HB Lead Draw! HB Lead Draw!" Schrute said on the offensive huddle.
When the huddle dispersed to their positions, Schrute analyzed the defensive look, which was a 3-4, an easy defensive front against a rushing attack.
When Winston snapped the ball to Schrute, Schrute handed off the ball to Hamada, who rushed for 12 yards before being tackled by #97 Jason Waston of Tampa Bay.
Taking their time, Schrute decided to call another play in the offensive huddle.
"Iso! Iso!" Schrute said in the huddle.
When the huddle dispersed to move to their positions, Schrute saw the 3-3-5 defensive front. Suspecting a blitz, Schrute signaled wide receiver #11 Jason Scott to check if they're blitzing.
While Jason saw the defensive backs getting ready to blitz, he signaled that a blitz is happening by tapping his temple.
"Kill! Kill! Kill! Check Logan! Check Logan!" Schrute said with the knowledge that a blitz is going to happen.
As the play changes before the ball is snapped, they decided to do play-action. Changing into a Shotgun formation, the Tampa Bay defense is alarmed into changing into a nickel formation.
Planning on running PA Post Shot, Schrute said, "PPS! PPS!" shouted to the offensive skill players.
As the ball was snapped to Schrute, he fake handoff to Hamada and saw Jason was wide open. Throwing a deep ball to Jason, Jason leaped to catch the ball and stayed in bounds. After he caught the ball, he went to the endzone for a 55-yard receiving touchdown, changing the score from 27-7 with 2 minutes and 30 seconds to go on the 1st quarter.
Because of this, the crowd cheered with excitement and happiness. While the crowd was celebrating, the Scott family, the Halpert family, the Schrute family, Jan and their children's known significant others were watching from their suite. While most of them were cheering, Michael was screaming in joy from the suite room, where he watched his son score a touchdown.
"Yessss!" Michael yelled out of joy, with Holly cheering for Jason as well.
"Holy shit! I can't believe our son did it!" Dwight said to Angela, being surprised at his first touchdown pass as a 49er.
"Hey, I knew your boy played ball. But I think it's different with new players," Jim said to Dwight.
After Jason scored the TD, the PAT team gained another extra point, causing a score of 28-7 with 2 and ½ minutes to go in the 1st quarter.
In frustration, the Tampa Bay offense fired back. With an offensive drive of 7 plays taking up the remainder of the 1st quarter, Edward Brady threw a 47-yard touchdown to Aaron Dempsey, resulting on the scoreboard saying 28-13. With the Tampa Bay PAT attempting to make an extra point, the 49ers block the PAT kick and #26 Kevin Bernouli of the PAT defensive team returns the blocked PAT kick for a defensive 2-points, much to the surprise of Coach Larson. As a result the score became 30-13.
After the 1st quarter, Astrid was surprised that the 49ers are outsourcing the Buccaneers.
Astrid noticed that his mother was uneasy. Concerned, she approaches her in their suite room.
"Mom?" Astrid called out.
"Yeah? What's up?" Jan said.
"What's wrong? Is everything ok?" Astrid asked.
"Yeah. Everything's fine. Just a little stressed. That game really is a shootout," Jan claimed.
Feeling something's fishy with her mom, Astrid decides to keep an eye on her.
"When the 2nd quarter started, the Tampa Bay kicked off to Jason again, who returned the kickoff for 44 yards before being tackled by #55 Evan Cole. With the 49ers, offensive drive starting at the Bucs, 49-yard line.
Schrute decided to call X-Post.
"X-Post! X-Post!" Schrute said in the offensive huddle.
As the huddle dispersed into a shot-gun formation, Schrute saw a 3-4-4 defensive look, suggesting that a moderate-deep pass play is hard to make. Learning a small route is the only vulnerability of the defense, Schrute decides to throw to #14 Jacob Seville, who has to run a short route.
As Winston snapped the ball, Schrute saw Seville wide open and threw to him, resulting in a catch. After catching it, he ran for a few yards, resulting in a 29-yard reception.
With the ball on the 20-yard line of the Bucs, Schrute decides to run the ball.
With Schrute calling QB Draw in the huddle, he decided to take a risk in being tackled.
When Winston snapped the ball to Schrute, Schrute became the ball keeper and rushed for 12 yards, before being tackled by #49 Emmanuel Weaver.
With the ball on the 8 yard-line on a 1st and goal situation, Schrute decides to run HB Strong Toss.
Calling the play in the offensive huddle, Schrute got the ball snapped by Winston and tossed the ball to Bernoulli, who ran it for a 8-yard touchdown, resulting in a score of 36-13. After the PAT team scored an extra point, the 49ers kickoff team kicked the ball for a touchback.
At the Buccaneers' 25-yard line, Edward threw a deep pass to #14 Christopher Hagane, but it was deflected by #28 Alex Masli, resulting in a 2nd & 10 situation.
On Edward's second play of the drive, he faked a QB Iso and threw to Dempsey for 15 yards, resulting in a first down, but was brought down by contract.
On the 3rd play of the drive, Mostert ran for 4 yards, before being tackled by #57 Jalen Marcus.
On the 4th play of the drive, Aaron Dempsey caught the ball for a gain of 8 yards on a short pass.
On the 5th play, Edward threw a deep pass, resulting in a 53-yard touchdown by Christopher Hagane, changing the score from 37-19 with about 12 and a ½ minutes to go in the second quarter.
With a successful 2-point conversion, the score was 37-21. With the sports announcers calling this the game of the decade, the fans believe it's the biggest game of all time. This drove Coach Larson to put both Halpert and Jay on defense again.
When the 49ers returned the kickoff for 22 yards following Hagane's TD, Schrute decided to run the ball to eat up the game clock. Starting on their own 29 yard line, Coach Larson to run a WR Jet Sweep.
With a WR Jet Sweep, Phillip handed off the ball to Jason, who surprisingly ran the ball for 33 yards.
After the Jet Sweep play, Schrute decided to a TE Jet Sweep with Jay. When Jay was called up to the field, relieving #85 Lawrence Hudson, he was briefed on TE Reverse Jet Sweep. Using a double motion play, Schrute handed the ball first to Jason, who handed off the ball to Jay, running the ball for a 38-yard rushing touchdown, resulting the score to be 43-21 with 10 minutes to go in the 2nd quarter. With a successful PAT conversion kick, the score became 44-21.
When the Buccaneers got their turn offensively, Jay managed to strip sack Edward Brady on the 5th play of their drive. However, an offensive lineman of the Bucs managed to recover it, resulting in a loss of 7 yards on the play. With a 2nd and 17 situation at the Buccaneers 49 yard line, Brady threw a moderate pass for 6 yards to #18 William Honekawa.
While the Buccaneers' 13 play drive took about 5 minutes of the 2nd quarter, the 14th play of the drive ended the drive with an interception by Halpert, who returned the interception for 57 yards before being tackled by Christopher Hagane.
With about 5 minutes remaining on the quarter, Coach Larson decided to settle for a field goal. With the ball on the Buccaneers 31-yard line, Schrute ran the ball for 17-yards, resulting in a first down.
When the 49ers offensive got into a 4th and 1 situation, they decided to do a field goal. With #1 Shreyas Danturthi kicking a successful field goa, the score became 46-21 with only 3 minutes remaining in the second quarter.
When the Buccaneers got the ball again, the 49ers defense held the offense long enough to force them into scoring a field goal, resulting the score to be 46-24 by the end of the 2nd quarter.
As both teams went back to the locker rooms, the 49ers defensive team was being briefed on which power plays are the Buccaneers using to score plays. The 49ers offense was advised on holding onto the ball longer to take up the clock.
While both sides of the 49ers team was advised, Astrid noticed her mom warning someone on the phone to not contact her again. Pretending to not notice, Astrid kept talking to Cecelia, Emily, and Addison.
"Jan, what's up?" Holly asked.
"Hey, I need to tell you something," Jan said. "Bring Michael."
When Holly brought Michael for a private chat with Jan, she proceeded to explain.
"You remember me telling you that I went to a sperm bank for artificial insemination?" Jan said.
"Yes?" Michael said.
"Turns out, the sperm bank was a lie. I was pregnant with someone's child," Jan said.
Michael and Holly were shocked. As Holly processed the news, Michael starts to feel weak on his knees.
"And your information, Michael. You are not the father," Jan said, relieving Michael some tension.
"Thank god. Who's Astrid's father?" Michael asked.
Jan whispered in his and Holly's ears the name of Astrid's father.
"You got to be kidding me. Him?!" Michael said.
"Yes, and please keep this a secret from Astrid. Because if she knows, then she'll get stressed out and devastated and I don't want that to impact her pregnancy," Jan pleaded.
"Ok, we won't tell Astrid. Does he know?" Michael asked.
"Yeah. He does. I've warned him to stay away for his own good," Jan told.
"You need to tell her," Michael gently urged.
"Not now! Right after she recovers from her pregnancy," Jan explained.
"Fine. But you need to tell her. You know I can't keep secrets," Michael said.
"I can help with that," Holly said to Michael.
What Jan, Michael, and Holly didn't know was that Astrid eavesdropped on them in secret. While she was shocked to learn that she wasn't a sperm donor child, she was upset over the fact her mother lied to her about her paternity. While keeping her emotional composure, Astrid appreciated her mother's efforts to keep her safe.
Going back to the suite, she acted normal. With the news of her biological father being present, she decided to find out who it is and meet him once if possible.
When the 3rd quarter started, it was a huge shootout. Tampa Bay scored a field goal on the 1st drive of the 2nd half, changing the score from 46-27. The 49ers scored a TD thrown by Schrute to Jay Sharma on the 2nd drive of the play, changing the score from 53-27.
On the Tampa Bay 2nd offensive drive of the 2nd half, they fumbled a ball recovered by #97 Henry Bosa, who ran it for 29 yards before being stopped at the 49ers' 31-yard line.
When the 49ers started their second drive, Hamada ran for 45 yards in one carry, before being tackled by Tampa Bay FS #34 Zach McCormack. On the second play of their second drive, they were stuffed by DT #99 Harold Phillips. When the 49ers were forced into a 4th and long situation at the Buccaneers 49-yard line, they were forced to punt with 7 minutes remaining on the clock. Despite the ball being muffed, Tampa Bay punt returner #11 Kevin Wu returned the ball for 22 yards, being tackled at the Bucs' 33 yard line.
When the Bucs resumed another offensive drive, they managed to get a rushing touchdown made by Mostert, changing the score to 53-33 with just 5 minutes remaining in the 3rd quarter.
With both teams fighting hard, the 49ers offense managed to score another field goal, changing the score to 56-33, with only 3 minutes remaining in the 3rd quarter.
When the 49ers kicked off the ball, Tampa Bay returned the kickoff for a 96-yard touchdown, changing the score to 56-39 with only 2 and a ½ minutes remaining in the 3rd quarter. With another successful 2-point conversion, the score became 56-41.
When the 49ers received the ball, their offense managed to reach field goal range, but Shreyas missed a 34-yard field goal due to high winds. At that time the 3rd quarter has ended.
When the 4th quarter started, the 1st Tampa Bay offensive drive of the quarter was filled with pressure caused by blitzes, resulting in 2 sacks and an incomplete pass. Forcing a punt, the 49ers returned their punt for 12 yards toward their 25 yard line.
However, the 49ers fumbled the ball because a pass made by Nigel Ward was stripped by Zach McCormack. Because of that strip, Tampa Bay managed to run it all the way for a defensive touchdown, changing the score to 56-45 with only 10 minutes to go in the 4th quarter.
With both coaches frustrated, Coach Larson decided to have Hamada take direct snaps and perform a few spread plays to put a little pressure.
"Schrute. Tell Hamada to take direct snaps and run the ball. It's a spread trick," Coach Larson said to Schrute.
As Schrute informed Hamada of the change in the offense, Schrute lined up in the running back position, startling Dwight and Angela
When the ball was snapped by Winston, Hamada ran the ball with crucial blocks made by Schrute.
As 5 minutes passed, the 49ers scored another touchdown made by Hamada, changing the score to 63-45 with 5 minutes to go in the 4th quarter.
When Tampa got back the ball, Edward threw a deep pass, which was caught by Hagane for a 87-yard TD, quickly changing the score to 65-51. With another successful 2-point conversion, the score became 65-53 with only 3 minutes to go in the the 4th quarter.
While Tampa Bay performed a successful onside kick recovery, the Tampa Bay managed to score another touchdown pass made by Aaron Dempsey, changing the score to 65-59. With another 2-point conversion, the score changed to 65-61 with only 2 minutes to go in the 4th quarter.
While all of the 49ers fans are cheering, Schrute realized that the game is on his hands. Sticking to the game plan, Schrute decides to eat up the clock. When the 49ers recovered an onside kick made by Tampa Bay, the 49ers decided that this drive will determine the result of the game. When Schrute decided to use PA Zone Cross, Schrute called it in the huddle and created a Hail Mary formation in an attempt to trick the defense.
When the ball was snapped, Schrute caught the snap and decided to run the ball. When Schrute ran the ball, he managed to gain 20 yards before being tackled at the 49ers' own 40 yard line by McCormack. Noticing that McCormack is a deep ball threat, Schrute decides to run the ball. With 1:30 remaining on the game clock, Schrute got another direct snap and ran for 30 yards before being tackled again by McCormack. This resulted in the ball being placed at the Bucs 30-yard line.
With Tampa Bay taking a time-out, the clock stopped at 1:20. When Schrute got another direct snap, he only managed to gain 10 yards before being tackled by DT #93 Aaron Barclay. With a minute remaining, Tampa takes another time out.
When Schrute saw a 3-4 formation, he realized that it's a blitz play, meaning he has to throw the ball quick.
When the ball was snapped, Schrute threw the ball to Ward, who caught the ball in the endzone, resulting in a touchdown. With a score of 71-63, the clocked stopped at 0:50. With a PAT kick attempt was successful, the score became 72-63.
When the 49ers kicked off the ball to Tampa Bay, the Tampa Bay decides to take a touchback. When the Tampa Bay offense lined up in a shotgun formation, Jay noticed that it was a pass play. He signaled to Halpert that the play will be a pass. As the ball was snapped, Jay tore through the offensive line, resulting in a QB pressure. As Brady threw the ball, the ball landed on Hagane's hands, but the ball was tipped in the air, leading Halpert to use the opportunity for an interception. As Halpert caught the interception, the game was already decided.
When Halpert got the game-ending interception, Coach Larson never felt more relieved in his life.
When the 49ers offense QB Kneeled the remaining time, the 49ers have clinched their second straight victory, but with an interception.
With the crowd cheering for Halpert and Schrute, they were praised for making an impact on the 49ers offense.
While Halpert and Schrute are carried by the 49ers on their shoulders, they celebrated. When the 49ers went back to the locker room, they celebrate for what they saw as the best game of their life.
"Ok, listen up! That was one good game indeed. They showed how good they and we showed how better we are! Next week, we got the New York Giants. And just because you beat the two toughest teams in the NFC this season doesn't mean it's a cake-walk from here on out. This is just the beginning! We've lot of work on! But a win's a win. So celebrate for 24 hours. But get ready," Coach Larson said.
"Hey boys! Listen up! We played hard and strong! But we need to get ready, ok! Niners on 3! 1,2,3! Niners!" Jay said.
When the 49ers were packing up their stuff, Jay was unexpectedly met up by Astrid. Getting his stuff, he headed out with Astrid and got in their car, where they talked in private.
"Astrid, what's wrong?" Jay asked.
"Jay, there's something I need to tell you," Astrid said.
"What is it?" Jay asked.
As Astrid told everything about how she was the love child of her mother and someone else, Jay realized that Astrid doesn't know about the connection with Coach Larson. Knowing that keeping secrets for a longer period of time will bring nothing but pain to each other, Jay decided to tell her the truth.
"Astrid, you need to know something. I know who your father is," Jay explained.
"You knew?" Astrid angrily questioned.
"I overheard a conversation between him and your mom yesterday," Jay nervously explained. "And I think, since you know the truth, you deserve to know who your father is."
"Who is it?" Astrid angrily asked.
"It's Coach Larson. He's your dad. His full name is Hunter Raymond Larson. He was a teenager when he was in a relationship with your mom after she got divorced nearly 3 decades ago. They worked in the same company Dunder Mifflin," Jay nervously revealed.
Suddenly, she realized the child that Jay referred to earlier in the morning was none other than her. Feeling hurt by the fact her mother lied about being conceived by a sperm donor, she started crying.
"Astrid, I'm so sorry. I thought I was keeping you safe from these secrets. I'm truly sorry," Jay said with sorrow.
When Astrid looked at him, she slapped him hard in the face, making him shocked. Afterwards, Astrid hugged Jay while she started sobbing yet again. With Jay consoling a sobbing Astrid, he felt sort of guilty that he told her the truth and somewhat relieved that he faced the consequences a day after he learned the truth.
"Look, you were right to hit me. But you need to know something. How long has your mother kept knowledge about your father away from you? 28 years? I only knew for a day and that is something I wasn't able to keep a secret. I thought I was protecting you from the pain, but I learned that it was hurting you more. The reason I'm telling you know is because I don't you to feel you hurting anymore," Jay tearfully admitted.
After hearing Jay's apology, Astrid stopped sobbing. Remembering who really cared for her throughout her life, she regained her emotional composure.
"Baby, it's not your fault. It's mine. All my life, I lived without a father. Or any father figure at all. Even though I wished for a father, I didn't realize my mother was the one who gave me all the love. Even though I'm angry at mom right now, I realized that she's the one who was looking out for me," Astrid said.
"So you don't want to see or talk to him ever again? Jay asked.
"Not exactly. I want to know if he really knew my existence when mom was pregnant," Astrid said in a serious tone.
"He didn't know that your mom was carrying you when she got pregnant. Your mom concealed that fact from him when she knew about it and didn't want him near you because she's somewhat scared that it'll ruin both your lives," Jay revealed.
Astrid, who now learned the truth, felt a little better.
"Well, if there was one thing which I wanted, it is that my parents get back together," Astrid said as part of wishful thinking.
"You want to set up your parents back together?" Jay clarified.
"Yup. There's a way I can do it without tarnishing Coach Larson's name. It's simple. Nobody knows about their past relationship. If we can get them into a relationship in the present time, there's nothing wrong. And if they end up back together and plan on getting married, then people will know me as a step-daughter," Astrid explained.
"Ok. But what happens if their past relationship gets out?" Jay inquired.
"That needs to be kept secret," Astrid reminded.
"Alright," Jay said. "Anyhow, when do you want to talk to Coach?"
"Probably after my delivery. And after I recover from the post-partum depression," Astrid said.
"Noted," Jay said.
As both have promised to keep Astrid's parents' past relationship a secret, they've decided to make it a mission to bring back Astrid's parents together in a respectable way.
While Jason was packing up his bags, she was met by Cecelia, who was holding something in her hand.
"Hey, Cece. What's up?" Jason asked.
"I wanted to do this when our parents met each other, but your dad was pretty emotional at the time, so I decided to it privately," Cecelia said, holding out a ring to Jason.
"Are you serious right now?" Jason said in astonishment, not noticing that everyone in the locker room was looking at him in silence.
"Yeah. I mean, since our parents approved of our relationship, I figured we get married," Cecelia said.
"I love you, Cecelia Marie Halpert. I love you to the moon and back. And I do accept your proposal," Jason said, holding out his finger for Cecelia to put the ring on. As Cecelia put the ring on Jason's hand, the entire locker room exploded into a loud noise.
"OHHHHHH!" the people shouted in reaction to the proposal.
As Jason and Cecelia were being congratulated by many players, he was personally congratulated by P. Halpert.
"My boy! Hey, take care of my sister or I'll break your neck," Halpert congratulated while giving a warning.
"I'll be sure to remember that," Jason said.
"I didn't expect that I'll be your bro-in-law!" Halpert said.
"So you gonna propose to Emily?" Jason teased.
"Not just yet. Don't tell her, but I'm planning on doing it if we win the NFC Championship," Halpert said.
"Ok," Jason said.
As Jason and P. Halpert were discussing, P. Schrute was met by his father, unexpectedly hugging him.
"I'm so proud of you! I didn't realize how great you were! That throw to Jason Scott was brilliant!" Dwight praised.
"Thanks, dad! I'm glad we won," P. Schrute said, grabbing his stuff and walking out of the locker room.
As both father and son walked together, they were met by Angela and Addison, clinging on to their respective lover's arms.
While everybody left the stadium, the only people who remained are Jan and Coach Larson, who were in Coach Larson's office.
"Hey, Jan. Didn't expect you to drop by," Coach Larson said.
"Hunter, I was thinking that we should rekindle our relationship. Nothing sexual or anything like that. Just a normal relationship," Jan said.
"I was gonna say the same thing," Coach Larson said.
"So, we're going for a normal relationship. And don't worry, I lost the sex drive many years ago. Thanks to the work I've been doing on the Scranton White Pages," Jan said.
"Well, you're in a respectable position again and I'm glad you're doing well. I'll see you later. Call me," Coach Larson said while Jan gave him a hug.
As Jan left, she texted Coach Larson. While Coach Larson looked at the text he got from Jan, he was relieved that he has started connecting back with her. Hoping for a new start on a new relationship, Coach Larson couldn't help but smile in happiness. He was also happy that he's getting a chance of reconnecting with an illegitimate daughter that he really hasn't met.
