Chapter 11

Lilith's Mirror, a Wizard, and a Vampire

At Tsukune's house, in the human world, Kyoko Aono was now preparing for her visit to Yokai Academy, so that she could see how this school functioned.

"Are you off to visit Tsukune's school?" asked Kasumi.

"Uh, yeah… I'm going to visit that school and see if it's just like any other school he's gone to," replied Kyoko.

"Well if possible, can you take these rice balls I made for him?" she asked.

"Well, okay, but I'm also gonna have to do some detective work so that I can see if those friends of his are what Yozora said they are," replied her niece, while maintaining her calm demeanor.

"Good, but be careful, oh and do say hello to Yozora for me, would you?" Kasumi asked as she watched Kyoko walk out the door.

"Uh, sure thing," Kyoko said hesitantly.

After a short while she had just managed to reach the school unscathed by going through the dimensional gateway, where she saw Yozora near the bus stop.

"Hey Kyoko!" he called.

Kyoko was relieved to hear the wizard's voice and instantly felt safe around him.

"Oh, thank goodness it's you Yozora. I gotta be honest with you, you're the only sane person on this planet I can talk to about this school," she said with a relieved smile.

Yozora gently placed his arm around Tsukune's cousin and assured her that his best friend was doing alright.

"Now although the girls may be different and unique in their own ways, I can assure you that both Tsukune and I trust them to watch his back as well as their own in case of any craziness that's going on," Yozora said.

"Huh, good to know," replied Kyoko, as they walked on.

From another part of the forest, Kokoa was riding on her bicycle and was now excited as she raced through the forest, singing a little song to herself.

"Don't stop me now! I'm havin' such a good time. I'm havin' a ball. Don't stop me now!" she sang along with Kyoko and Yozora.

"What the…!?" they all said in unison.

"That's Moka's sister, Kokoa! Get to cover and don't make a sound!" Yozora said and grabbed Kyoko.

Quickly they hid behind a tree that could hide them from her field of view, while the wizard hugged Tsukune's cousin close, which of course made her blush intensely as Kokoa skidded to a halt on her bike which sent the package in her basket flying out and landing on the ground.

"Okay what the hell is going on? I know I smelled another human on the way," she said.

Yozora, glanced behind her and saw Kokoa step off her bike as her bat fluttered onto her shoulder.

"Hey! Show yourself before I turn this place into a barren wasteland! So basically the same, only on fire," shouted Kokoa.

"Crapbaskets!" cried Kyoko.

Kokoa was about to grab Kou, when Kyoko bravely stepped out and greeted her, while Yozora quickly switched the rice balls with the package.

"Hi! Um… hello, Miss… Kokoa… Ma'am," Kyoko said a bit hesitantly.

"Oh, well if it isn't Tsukune's cousin," she said.

"How did you even-?" Kyoko asked.

"Yokai Netflix," interrupted Kokoa.

"Figures," muttered Kyoko.

"So what are you doing here?" asked Kokoa.

"Oh, you know, just walking around," answered Kyoko.

"Thwartin' mah plans?" Kokoa asked again.

"Thwarting your plans?," replied Kyoko.

"Are you?" Kokoa asked yet again.

"No," Kyoko said quickly.

"Good, 'cause that'd be bad," Kokoa said with a sadistic smirk.

"How bad?" asked Kyoko.

"I'd have to kill you," Kokoa said ominously.

"That's bad," replied Kyoko.

"Indeed. Too bad you're not wearing the standard uniform," she said.

"Yes; it's just my street clothes... and nothing else," Kyoko said as bravely as she could.

"Well, yeah, that's what street clothes are… dumbass," Kokoa said with a sassy tone.

"So, can I help you?" asked Kyoko.

"No… but maybe I can help you," Kokoa said in a creepy tone.

"Uh! My mother said not to talk to strangers!" Kyoko said with a mild panic in her voice.

"I'm not a stranger," replied Kokoa, and she kneed Kyoko hard in her stomach, making her double over in pain.

"Ouch," said Yozora, as he dove back to cover.

"By the way, I only hit you because I have pent-up aggression against your cousin. Take that," Kokoa said, as she went back to her bike, and raced off into the distance.

Thankfully for Kyoko, Yozora cast a healing spell on her, so that she'd be restored to full strength.

"You did good, Kyoko," Yozora said.

"What do you mean?" she asked.

"Kokoa is one persistent daughter of a gun, but she's actually pretty nice once you get to know her a bit," he replied.

"Yeah, I doubt that after she kneed me in the stomach," Kyoko said grumpily.

But the two of them decided to continue on to the academy. On the way there, Yozora explained the many hijinks that he, Tsukune, and all their friends had gone through.

"Wow, you and Tsuki must have been through alot together," Kyoko said with a look of surprise.

"Oh you have no idea," replied Yozora.

At last they reached the entrance.

"Here it is, Yokai Academy. A school by monsters and for monsters. They used to have a strict no humans allowed policy, but that all changed when I suggested that a new sheriff be take charge of the public safety committee, so that anyone who's just a regular human being can be welcomed to the school with open arms instead of with death," Yozora said.

"Wow, I thought it'd look modern, but it looks more like a gothic building from the middle ages," observed Kyoko.

"You'll get used to it. Besides, Me, Tsukune and our motley crew mostly hang out in the club room after class, and decide what to write for our next big piece of news. Speaking of which, here they are now," Yozora said as he saw Tsukune and Moka walking by.

"Hey Tsukune! Guess who's come to visit!" called the wizard.

"Oh, Kyoko!" Tsukune said with a look of surprise on his face.

"Hi, Kyoko!" Moka said excitedly.

"Hey guys," Kyoko said happily.

But then Kurumu showed up in a different maid outfit.

"Oh, hey Yozora. What do you think of this new outfit?" she asked.

"Looks pretty interesting, but Kyoko's come by to visit Tsukune, and wanted to learn more about Yokai Academy," Yozora said casually.

"Yeah, what Yozora said," added Kyoko.

"Oh, then welcome to Yokai Academy, milady," Kurumu said as she courtsyed to her.

"I'm with Kurumu, welcome to the school," added Yukari, who bowed respectfully to Tsukune's cousin.

"Well, even though Kyoko's a human being, I did tell her that the new sheriff of the security committee has also wanted to find a way to ensure that human/monster coexistence continues unhindered," Yozora said.

"So does that make you?" Kyoko asked curiously.

"Just a friend of the sheriff," piped in Mizore.

"Right on the mark, Snow Angel," Yozora said with a grin.

Kyoko was a bit surprised, and a little amazed to hear Yozora calling Mizore that, but she decided to roll along and not question it until a voice came from beneath the cloth.

"Uh Kyoko, there's a voice in the package," Yozora said to her.

"Oh snap!" she cried and took cover in the entrance hall, making Tsukune and the rest of the girls confused.

"I wouldn't worry about her, she just needs some time to adjust to her new surroundings," Yozora assured them.

"Fair enough," replied Kurumu.

Kyoko soon opened the package, and was surprised to see a mirror instead of rice balls.

"How'd the rice balls turn into this mirror?" she asked, just as Yozora approached her.

"Well, while you distracted Kokoa, I took this opportunity to switch the packages around when she wasn't looking," Yozora explained.

In her dormitory, Kokoa was aghast at what she'd seen.

"Son of a BITCH!" she screamed.

"What, you don't like these riceballs Miss Kokoa?" asked Kou.

"No, I'm- well, actually I do like them. But that's not the point! That girl distracted me! And now Yozora has that mirror!" she shouted in fury.

Back in the hallway, a strange fairy like creature emerged from the mirror and sat upon it.

"Well aren't just cute," Yozora said.

"Aw, you're so sweet. My name is Lilith, and I'm the spirit of this mirror," said the fairy

"I'm Yozora Ikeda, and this is Kyoko Aono," the wizard said to her.

"Hello," added Kyoko.

"Are either of you my master?" asked Lilith.

"Actually yes, I'm the guy that summoned you forth," Yozora said.

"Wait a second, what?" asked Kyoko.

"Just roll along with it," whispered Yozora.

"Perfect, and since I'm aware that you're a wizard and Kyoko's a regular human, that means that she hasn't seen many monsters, right?" asked the mirror spirit.

"Uh no of course not," said Kyoko.

"Well okay then," replied Lilith.

"And since Kyoko wants to play detective, How about this? You help her learn why this school is meant for monsters, and then you reverse the effects of what just happened," Yozora suggested.

"Fine with me, your wish is my command," Lilith said with a determined smirk.

Soon Lilith picked up the mirror and raced off into the distance.

"Crap!" he said to himself.

"What's up?" asked Kyoko.

"I think I just goofed up," Yozora replied.

He grabbed Kyoko's hand and teleported after Lilith.

On the way to the club room, Kurumu and Yukari were carrying boxes that were super heavy for the witchling to carry.

"This way a ton. Why'd you have to buy all these ingredients, Kurumu?" asked Yukari, as she panted heavily.

"It's because I want to bake a pretty awesome cake for everyone, after a job well done," Kurumu said excitedly.

"Well, that's good enough for me, so let's get to it," the young sorceress replied, until they heard a scream from nearby.

Out of the sky flew Lilith, holding her mirror. Kurumu and Yukari were suddenly shocked by this strange sight.

"Sorry for the interruption, but I have to show the world what type of monsters you really are!" she said.

A flash of light erupted from the mirror and engulfed the two girls instantaneously, causing them to undergo serious change, just as Yozora and Kyoko teleported into the club room, while Tsukune and Moka were putting the supplies away.

"Geez, where are Kurumu and Yukari?" asked Tsukune.

"Oh, they told me that they were gonna go shopping for us first," replied Moka.

"Which means that Mizore's might be the first one back," Yozora said.

"And just one more person, but I don't know who that could be," Moka said.

"Hey, you may want to be careful Moka, I can get that for you," Tsukune said worriedly.

"It's okay, I've got this," she said.

But she didn't, several of the supplies fell along with Moka, whom Yozora managed to catch, and hold her bridal style.

"Nice save, Yozora!" Tsukune said.

"Yeah, way to go!' agreed Kyoko.

The wizard smirked proudly at his best friend and his cousin, as he set Moka down on the ground.

"I'm really sorry about that," she said.

"Hey, it's no big deal, but right now we got a bigger problem to deal with," replied Yozora.

"What kind of problem?" asked Tskune.

"An even bigger problem than even you could imagine," Ruby said as she arrived in a security guard's outfit.

Tsukune and Moka were about to ask about why she was wearing it, when Yozora cut them off.

"I goofed up, because of an artifact spirit by the name of Lilith. When Kyoko distracted Kokoa, I seized the opportunity to switch packages, when she wasn't looking," admitted Yozora.

"Indeed, this is an important mission for all of you," Ruby said.

But she was interrupted by Gin's howling, and was about to take pictures of Moka's underwear again, when Yozora blasted him out the door, and sedated him with a sleeping dart.

"Phew, nice work, Yozora," Moka said, feeling relieved.

"No time for praise, let's move!" Yozora said quickly.

"Roger!" replied Ruby and they raced out the door.

Everyone raced to the main school building, but they were shocked to see that all the students and staff had been transformed into their monster forms.

"Damn it!" cried Yozora.

"Don't blame yourself. We can fix it," assured Moka.

"She's right, this isn't the time to feel sorry for yourself," agreed Ruby.

"You're right, guys. We gotta stop this outbreak or we can kiss this barrier goodbye!" Yozora said, with a glint of determination in his eyes.

"You don't mean!" gasped Moka and Tsukune.

"Yeah, Lilith's mirror has the power to not only reveal what monster's look like, but they can also unleash their true nature at will," said Yozora.

"Let's move it, people!" added Ruby.

Tsukune and Yozora decided to take Kyoko with them and head off and find the rest of their friends, while Moka and Ruby went off in search of Lilith.

"Listen, even though you went through the portal to the Yokai world, none of this is your fault. Sure some monsters might be scary at first, but if you've watched Monster's Inc, you know that they're like giant teddy bears that can keep you safe from even scarier monsters," Yozora assured her.

"You're right. I should have followed aunt Kasumi's example," replied Kyoko.

"Well what do we have here, I smell a delicious human woman," said Miss Ririko from nearby.

"Tsukune, Kyoko, get going, I'll deal with snake eyes and meet up with you," Yozora told the others.

"Good luck Yozora," Tsukune called back to him.

Miss Ririko lunged at Kyoko, but Yozora blasted her back and cast a bind spell on her to prevent her from moving.

"Yeah! way to go Yozora!" cheered Kyoko.

"It won't hold her for long, let's move!" Yozora said to her, and dragged her after him.

Above Lilith began swooping back and forth changing both teacher and student into their true monster forms, when she spotted Yozora.

"Lilith! This stops now!" Yozora shouted.

"Oh no! It's only just begun. Let's just hope that you can live long enough to see what happens!" she called back.

Yozora clenched his fist tightly when they heard Kurumu approaching them looking exhausted.

"Listen guys, I feel kind of strange for some reason," she said.

But Yozora quickly pulled out his wand and cast dispel on her.

"You've been under the effects of Lilith's power, all because I asked her to show Kyoko the truth. If you wish to place the blame on someone, put it on me. I'll face immediate expulsion from the school," Yozora said.

But instead of hitting Yozora, Kurumu hugged him.

"Listen, I know that you can be a bit naive at times, but I swear to you, we'll let them know that the fault should be placed on Kokoa," Kurumu said.

Suddenly Yukari arrived and tackled Tsukune to the ground, but Yozora cast dispel on her to break her free from Lilith's influence.

"Why'd you cast dispel on me?" asked the witchling.

"You saw Lilith's mirror which would have caused some serious problems," Yozora explained quickly.

Finally Mizore emerged and began hugging Yozora tightly, but Yozora cast dispel yet again to free her from Lilith's influence.

"I'll explain later, but for now we got an artifact spirit to deal with," he said to his snow angel.

"Right!" agreed Mizore.

When Ruby arrived, she was back in her regular clothes once again, and asked the two boys what it was they wanted.

"Just hold still for a moment. Everything's gonna be okay," Yozora assured her.

"As you wish," Ruby said as she bowed respectfully to him.

With a wave of his wand, Yozora cast dispel on the more mature witch.

"That should do it," he said.

"Now, what happened?" asked Tsukune.

"When Moka and I went to get Lilith's mirror, we suddenly got separated, and she managed to catch me off guard," replied Ruby.

"God damn it! We gotta find Moka and fast!" Yozora said furiously.

"Ruby, Yukari, and I will search the sky!" Kurumu said.

"Kyoko, Tsukune, and Mizore, you guys are with me!" Yozora said.

"And where do you think you'll be going?" asked Miss Ririko.

"Somewhere away from you!" shouted Yozora, as he blasted her back with several firaga spells which rendered her badly burned and unconscious.

"Run!" cried Tsukune.

In a rush they raced after Moka. When Kyoko saw that all monsters were real, she soon recalled the words Yozora said to him.

"Hey Yozora. I know now that even though you, Moka, Kurumu, Yukari, Mizore, Gin, Ruby, and that other girl called Kokoa are monsters, I trust you guys to watch my back, just like you watch Tsuki's," she said.

"Then let's rise to the challenge!" Yozora said, and teleported away with Kyoko, while Tsukune and the rest of his friends raced to find Moka.

When Yozora and Kyoko found Moka, Yozora fired an emergency flare into the sky, to signal everyone to his side. Moka was relieved to see that everyone was alright, but Miss Ririko had managed to catch up to them.

"I've had it up to here with your delinquency!" she shouted enraged at being struck down yet again.

"Then bring it on! I'll take on more of your slaves!" Yozora said as he summoned both his swords to his hands.

He swung them multiple times, and soon began striking at them with unrelenting determination as Kyoko grabbed Lilith's mirror, and held it up to Moka, who soon changed into her true vampiric self with the removal of her rosary. She then sent every one of them flying with a full flurry of kicks, and landed in a crouch.

"You're already done!" she said.

"As for one divided by zero, try to solve that one," Yozora added with a smirk.

The two of them exchanged a high five and glared darkly at Lilith.

"Now for you Lilith, it's time to put an end to your charade!" Moka said furiously.

"Don't think so," Lilith said, as the mirror engulfed them in a bright light.

To everyone's surprise, there stood the two versions of Moka.

"Huh, how about that? You split Moka in two and you've got yourself a double whammy," Yozora said.

"Wait a second, you're telling me that this Moka with pink hair is the sealed variant, while that Moka with silver hair is her true self?" asked Kyoko.

"Yep, and it looks like they're meeting has finally come at last," replied Yozora.

"Wow, good guess master," giggled Lilith.

Then suddenly she looked into her own mirror and began to change into her true self as well.

"You know for a spirit artifact, you really don't have any sense of moral code or ethics," Yozora said.

"How dare you!" shouted Lilith, as she tried to blast him with her mirror.

But Yozora cast a shield spell around them to stop the attack from affecting them.

"Impossible!" gasped the artifact spirit.

At last Tsukune and the others arrived just in time to see both versions of Moka together.

"Holy crap! Two Mokas!?" gasped Tsukune.

"I'll explain later!" Yozora replied.

"No! How could you be free from my power!?" demanded the small fairy.

"If you want to know why, Tinker Bell, then blame Yozora's usage of dispel magic," Kurumu said to the artifact spirit.

Everyone else nodded in agreement.

"You see, while Tsukune's heart only belongs with both versions of Moka, and my heart belongs with Mizore, We both agreed that Kurumu and Yukari are also part of this family. And you will never sever this bond we share with each other!" Yozora said firmly.

"No! Then I'll just have to unleash your true self against everyone!" screamed Lilith.

"Forget it! This is where you will know your place, ONCE AND FOR ALL!" Yozora shouted back.

He soon drew his wand yet again, and this time pointed it directly at the artifact spirit.

"ULTIMA!" he shouted.

A brilliant ball of violet light erupted from his wand, and surrounded the artifact completely, as Kyoko, Tsukune, and his motley crew looked in both awe and amazement. Then the orb of light exploded violently sending Lilith and her mirror flying up and landing in Yozora's outstretched left hand.

Mizore was so happy that she ran to the wizard and kissed him on his lips.

"Way to go Yozora!" cheered Yukari.

"You're the best around! No one's gonna ever bring you down, you're the best around! Nothing's gonna keep you down!" sang Kurumu.

"I'll admit, you weren't half bad, Yozora," said the silver-haired Moka.

"Half bad? Are you kidding me? He was all great!" replied the pink-haired Moka.

Even Ruby, Tsukune, and Kyoko had to agree with the two Mokas.

"Well there's just one more problem," Yozora said, as Kokoa rushed to the silver-haired Moka.

But Yozora blasted her back with a wind spell.

"Thank you Yozora, I now have one less pest to deal with," she said.

"In the meantime, let's bring both Moka's back together, and cover up Lilith's mirror," said Yozora.

Good idea," agreed Ruby.

Once it was done, everything soon returned to normal, as the students and the staff reverted back to their original selves.

"Alright Ruby, better get Kokoa's sorry ass out of here so that she can get a good talking to from Miss Nekonome.

"Roger that, Yozora," Ruby said as she saluted him.

She soon dragged the unconscious Kokoa away, while Tsukune breathed a sigh of relief. Meanwhile Yozora turned and faced Kyoko, with a desponded look on his face.

"Listen Kyoko, I'm so sorry for everything that's happened. If you want to take Tsukune back home, we won't stop you from doing that. You have every right to hate us. I'm sorry," he said in a somber tone.

Tsukune and the girls were shocked by what Yozora had said to Kyoko. They were afraid that Kyoko would lash out against him. But to their surprise, they were surprised to see her hugging him.

"Listen, it's okay, I understand now that this school that this school is only for monsters, and I'm happy that Tsuki has friends he can count on. So, I get it now. There's no point in trying to take him back to aunt Kasumi so that she can give him a severe lecture about going to a school that's for people like them," Kyoko said, as she stepped back after releasing Yozora from her embrace.

"But, we're more than just Tsukune and Yozora's friends. We're more like family," piped in Kurumu.

"And as their true family, we'll take care of them both, and make sure that they're happy everyday," agreed Yukari.

"Yeah, even if Tsukune and Yozora are feeling down, we'll be there for them," added Mizore.

"So, you can count on all of us, too look out for him," finished Moka.

Kyoko nodded and smiled at them all.

"Thank you everyone. If Tsukune's happy here and both you and he trust each other, I'll trust your judgement by swearing an unbreakable vow of secrecy," she said.

"Thanks Kyoko," Yozora said as he took her hand and shook it.

"Well, I know that even if Moka, Mizore, and Yukari are just friends, and even if I say that I'm the girlfriend, it'd be a bit unfair to Yozora if we left him," Kurumu said with a goofy grin.

"Yeah, but just so you know, Mizore still loves Yozora, and I'm just his apprentice," replied Yukari.

"Also, about the two Mokas. While the silver-haired incarnation is strong, I know that the pink-haired incarnation needs to train hard in order to become stronger if she wants to be there for him," said Yozora.

Moka was a bit saddened by it, but the wizard gently rested his hand upon her shoulder as he looked respectfully into her eyes.

"I swear, I'll make sure that you're well trained so that we fight for a bright future for Tsukune," he assured the vampiress.

"We all will," agreed the other girls.

"Thank you, everyone," replied Moka.

Tsukune and Kyoko nodded in agreement, until they felt something happening above.

"Oh no, the barrier!" cried Yozora.

Ruby and the headmaster knew that Yozora was right. It was just as they feared, the excess energy at Yokai Academy was enough to shatter the rosary that maintained the Great Barrier.

"God damn it Kokoa! When we see your father, I'll have to let him know that you'll have to prepare for the unforeseen consequences of this resonance cascade you've caused!" Yozora said furiously.

"Resonance cascade!?" everyone said together.

"Yeah! The destabilization caused by Lilith has led to a serious dimensional tear between the two worlds. If it continues then the human/monster war is gonna turn into hell. And that's what Kokoa managed to open up, right here at this school. Hell is descending!" Yozora said with a grim look on his face.

"What are we gonna do!?" asked Yukari.

"We need to find a way to maintain the barrier before humanity goes the way of the dinosaurs," replied the wizard.
