Hey! Ok I am so sorry for the delay in posting. I am ok and my family is doing pretty decent right now. School is a lot right now and I lost a lot of motivation. So because of that, this chapter is dedicated to PJOHOOTAA fan because they recently left a comment asking about how I was and can I just say thank you. You don't know how freakin much that meant, it also gave me motivation to start/finish this chapter. So please enjoy and leave a review because they let me know that people are reading this and help me update faster.
Percy flashed down to the Pit. He instantly felt a rush of power he hadn't felt in about 2 years, the last mission he himself conducted, the last time he had been down here for more than a quick walk. He walked down the Pit floor, heading towards a large building. Triton and Amphitrite looked around nervously. They had heard that this place was even more violent under the rule of Percy.
Almost reading their thoughts, Percy turned around and faced the pair.
"Don't worry. Rumor about this place being more dangerous is true, only if you are here without my permission. It is like another god intruding on my domain, because it is," he said. Both of the other two people visibly relaxed. If they were her with Percy, they were not getting hurt.
They all walked towards the looming castle. The building was huge with wings spread out. There was a large fence surrounding the whole place. They could hear swords clashing and distant chatter. The dark castle sounded surprisingly lively. The front door opened up for Percy as he strutted inside.
The room they entered was a sort of lobby. The walls were black and were covered in paintings and pictures. There were tables littering the area. There were couches spread about. There were teenagers sitting at the couches or tables, eating, some with a book in hand, other chatting animatedly with friends. At the end of the lobby was a great set of doors and two hallways going off to the left and right.
Percy stopped in front of the doors and took a breath. He wasn't sure if he was ready to see his family again or even start the war for the last time. He shook all doubts away as he pressed his hand to the door.
The chatter that would have normally filled the dining room stalled as Poseidon was standing, looking expectantly at the door. A huge smile made its way across his face as he saw his family.
"Demigods, this is my wife, Amphitrite. These are my sons, Triton and Percy Jackson."
The family was taken aback at the large amount of cheering the family received. They were momentarily deaf, the cheering overwhelming. Poseidon moved towards his family and enveloped them in a large hug, crushing everyone. Percy tensed up at first but quickly melted into the hug. He tried to hold the tears back but he couldn't. They only broke out of the hug after they heard a small voice coming from behind them.
"Dad," the voice asked.
Percy spun around faster than anyone could have thought possible. Percy found two teenagers staring up at him.
"Austin, Poly," he breathed. The tears in his eyes were falling at an alarming rate. He closed his children in a bone crushing hug.
They stayed that way for what felt like hours but was only a few seconds. Percy felt a tap on his shoulder. He whipped around to find himself face to face with Annabeth. He could see the underlying anger that was being shoved a side by happiness in her eyes.
"Annabeth, I- I," Percy tried to say. Annabeth was having none of it however.
She embraced him in a passionate kiss then judo flipped him on his back. The whole dining room went silent, anticipation filling the air. Percy looked into her eyes and felt the anger, the betrayal he had caused. They both knew they needed a more private setting so he settled for "I sorry."
Annabeth looked at him endearingly, offering a hand to pick him up. Their kids made their way behind them as they made their way out of the dinning hall. The family was followed by Poseidon. Triton and Amphitrite stayed back to watch over the rest of the kids.
The family reached a door and ushered everyone inside. The room was a decent size, with two couches and a few chairs. The family all sat down and looked at Percy expectantly. They sat in an awkward silence until the door burst open.
"Percy," Jayla yelled. She walked over to him and slapped him in the face. Everyone started to laugh and Percy started to shrug it off.
"I deserve that," he said.
"Deserve it? Of course you do, ass hole. You deserve a lot more than a kind slap in the face." Jayla was seething, rage filling her eyes. "You left us, you left me, without so much as a goodbye. We thought you would go cool off and then come back. We waited for years, thinking that you would just come back. I was not going to lose you, not after I had just found you. I searched the world, almost found you a few times, but you could just flash away with some kid. Then you would show up in a completely different part of the world with a different kid, then we would get kids here. What were you doing all those years?"
"I was saving them," he said, his voice small. "I was going to come back after I blacked out but then I found out about their plan. They were going to super breed, create a new line of demi-gods, more powerful than anything we have seen from a mortal. On top of that, super brewing included super fast birthrates, but it was fatal to the mother. I knew I couldn't just leave the kids, so I traveled around the world finding them. Some of them had good homes, others had abusive homes. Some of the kids I picked up smelled like beer, had bruises all over them, looked malnourished or some other sign of abuse."
The room went quiet at this, he had not abandoned them for no reason after all. And the kids that Jayla saw were not his kids. They were abandoned demi-gods.
"That's not the worst of it though. Some of the families that knew what had happened would throw the kids out. I found five year old's wandering the woods. At the beginning I would deliver them to camp but I stopped doing that with the younger ones. They were manipulated too easily. The older ones I found would gather in a group of 5 to 10, they would go to camp, gather some information, then leave. I had a portal ready for them."
"You would find 5 to 10 a week," Annabeth asked, disgusted.
"Ya, I told you, they have been really busy. The Olympians, sans your mom, spend more time in the beds of mortals than on Olympus nowadays. Artemis is a spy as well, for obvious reasons. They also have a small amount of minors helping out to. That's why the numbers are so high."
The whole room was surrounded in an intense silence. Everyone was disgusted by what they were hearing. Percy looked at them sadly, knowing he had to continue.
"They soon realized what was happening. I stopped sending them to the camps and sent them straight here. When they realized I was taking them out of the camp they started taking them to Olympus."
There was a sharp intake of breath. Everyone realized that the enemy had an army as well.
"The 'army' they have is not large, maybe 100 - 150 demigods. They are being held there against their will. The demigods I delivered earlier today were the last that I will be able to rescue."
"Why," Jayla asked.
"I don't want to get into that yet, it is too disgusting."
"So what happened today to make you come back?"
"Long story. Well first I got really overwhelmed, the normal thought," he said casually. "The PTSD of the wars and shit. I kind of exploded, Triton took me hostage, almost turned me over to the big guy. Convinced him not to and eventually we got away."
He said this with a casual air, like he was describing a walk in the park, not a traumatic event. Everyone looked at Percy with a face filled with concern.
"Ummm…ok," Jayla said, obviously worried at the tone her brother had used.
"Could you show me around the training place," Percy asked.
Taken aback at his change of subject, Jayla did not respond. Annabeth jumped in, grabbed him by the arm and took him out of the room.
"First time we see him in 450 years and he doesn't even ask how we are," Austin remarked.
"Believe me, he cares about you more than you would know. He wants to talk to you but is confused. He doesn't know who you are anymore. One does change quite a lot in the time span of 450 years," Poseidon said.
"But it still doesn't explain why-," Poly started.
"He didn't ask," Jayla interrupted. "He is worried about the war. He knows that because he returned that we will go to war in no more than 100 years. He is mainly hoping he didn't just screw up life for everyone."
Poly and Austin nodded in understanding. They both knew what their dad returning home meant. They knew Zeus would want Percy to answer to him for declaring rebellion. They knew he would stop at nothing to raid the pit. They also knew he had spies in the Underworld who were able to monitor action in the Pit. Everyone was worried about the inevitable war even if they had the stronger army.
Poly and Austin stood up and made towards the door, knowing the sheer amount of questions they would have to answer.
Beth POV
I was walking down the hallway when I heard the large cheering coming from the dining hall. I made my way towards the room, ignoring any one who got in my way. When I got there I almost slapped myself for being so stupid. There was only one person whose arrival would cause such an uproar.
Percy Jackson, I thought. My rescue guy finally came home. When I caught sight of his figure and hair, I became caught up in memories that I had suppressed for 450ish years.
*Flashback*
I was running from a pack of monsters. Apparently being Kronos daughter didn't mean you got to be all goody goody with the monsters, which sucked. I was born and raised in the pit and being chased by monsters was normal, but this time was different.
For the past monthish monsters have been disappearing, not that I am complaining. I was lounging around when I felt something. The ground underneath me started to shift, as if it lost some of its cruelty. It didn't lose any aggression, but the Pit started to seem human almost.
I looked around, trying to find the source of this change when I saw the dust. I came down in waves. It kept coming and coming. I ran, I knew it would take a while for everything to reform but I still didn't want to be around for when it happened.
I found a cave and staked out. That was about seven years ago, but now you're all caught up. The monster finally started to reform and I was able to handle them but knot this pack. I was about to give up. My legs were tense with exhaustion, my breath was laboured, I couldn't go on for much longer. I stopped running, ready to welcome the pain that was sure to follow. But instead feeling immense pain, I felt the presence of another. Someone more powerful than I had felt in a long time. He felt similar to my dad however his emotions were different. My dad's emotions were always hostile. This new guy's emotions were kind, yet dangerous.
I turned around and the sight I saw puzzled me further. The monsters were all bowing to this guy, like he was a hot shot or something. I looked at him as he swiped his hand and the monsters dissolved into dust.
"Who are you," I asked.
The guy chuckled with a sort of pleasure, almost like he didn't want me to know who he was.
"Finally someone who won't bombard me with questions. Anyway what are you doing down here?"
"I could ask you the same question, but I will explain only if you do first." I didn't fully trust this man yet. Most of the time, knowledge of my parentage didn't do me any favors.
"Well," he said, sighing. "I kind of rule this place. I am Percy Jackson, god of the Pit, Earth, Time and the Tide," he said, waving his hand around in annoyance.
"Well, that's a surprise." He chuckled darkly.
"It was a surprise to me as well."
"How did you-," I started, but was interrupted by a hand raised in my face.
"Unless you want me to send a pack of giants or some crap on you please shut up."
He placed his face in his hands as he ran his fingers through his hair.
"If you would mind telling me why you are here it might help me calm down."
"I doubt that," I mumbled.
"Just tell me anyways."
I sighed before launching into it. "I was born down here, my dad well - it's complicated."
"I know complicated. So who's your dad?"
"Kronos," I said quietly.
"Dang, I mean um sorry?"
"No, dang is the right answer. He isn't really my dad though, at least in an emotional way," I said not really wanting to think about that. "And now that I think about it, I have heard your name before, actually, I have heard your name a lot of times. Whenever he talks about you he gives off an anger of distinct hatred. What did you do to him?"
"Thwarted his attempt to take over civilization." He said this like it was something he did everyday.
"Yup, that would do it."
"Hey, um I started a program of sorts where we are raising up an army against the gods. They have too much pain, too much breakage. Due to arrogance I have been forced to take place in multiple wars. I lost everyone I knew, loved. The entirety of the demigod population was killed and I was the last one standing."
I stared at him for a moment, I had always heard that the gods were assholes but I have only heard it from my father, so I didn't know how truthful the information was.
"So what is the 'program'," I asked.
"Well we won't force you into anything. We give you food, shelter, clothes and the option to serve. You can train for war, be the trainer, cook, clean, create clothes, really anything. It is all optional as well. The gods force you into things like this when honestly it should be your choice. Also if you join, you will receive a blessing of immortality. You won't die unless you are killed in combat."
"Where do I sign up," I asked.
*End of flashback*
I was looking at the doors when a family came out of them. Them moved past me heading towards a meeting room. I backed out of the way letting them pass as I headed up to a training facility. I reached the damaged training arena. It was sound from a structural point of view but it looked like it would cave in at any moment, and I loved it.
I picked up a sword and began slashing at dummies. After an hour, I was soaked in sweat, my muscles were tired but weren't aching yet. I was about to head back to my dorm when I heard a voice come from the shadows.
"Want to practise?"
"Sure Nico."
Hey sorry for taking so long to update and for the cliffhanger. I hope you like Beth. Carter is to thank for the idea. I hope you enjoy this chapter. Also I will hopefully be able to update Here We Go Again soon as well as start a Kingdom Keeper/ Percy Jackson crossover. I will be updating rather slowly as we are nearing finals, as well as holiday season. I hope you have a Merry Christmas and may God bless you. -therandomslytherin.
