We open to five chemical security guards wearing mind controlling goggles, that make the user see their worst fears while the controllers control them. "I have to thank you for being worthy test subjects for these goggles."
We then see Scarecrow, stealing some chemicals for his fear toxin. "I'm sorry if these chemicals cost much, but they looked free to me." Said Scarecrow who had somehow escaped prison, again. He turned to the security guards and snapped his fingers. "Wakey, wakey." The guards stood up and cracked their necks. "Our guests will be here soon."
"Speak of the guests and they shall appear." Scarecrow turned to trace the voice of Beast Boy and sees the Titans standing by the exit.
"How does this guy keep escaping?" Asked Cyborg.
"Reports claimed they snuck in fear toxin." Robin replied.
"How though?" Cyborg queried.
Kid Flash couch and whispered to Cyborg. "Next time we search him, might I suggest you wear a rubber glove and do a 'search.' Kid Flash suggestion made Cyborg cringe.
"Do you really want to deal with us Scarecrow?" Jinx asked. "Don't forget the last time you came here."
"You think some lonely teenage girl scares me?" Asked Scarecrow.
Raven suddenly teleported in front of the mad doctor, eyes glowing white and gaseous tentacles coming from her cloak. "I hope you're referring to me, because if you are than you deserve it."
Scarecrow threw a bomb in Raven's face, temporarily blinding her. Just as that happened, Robin shouted his famous battle cry and the Titans started to make chase to Scarecrow.
Just as Scarecrow was retrieving his chemicals he turned and said, "Visitors are always so keen to meet the host that they refuse to acknowledge the other guests. Gentlemen, meet and greet the Titans." Just as Scarecrow gave the order, the security guards started to charge towards the Titans.
"Try your best to not hurt the guards. Remove the goggles." Robin commanded. "Beast Boy, you help Raven out."
Beast Boy gave his leader a nod before he transformed into a bird and flew towards Raven to check up on her. "Raven..." Beast Boy turned back into his regular form to see if his teammate was ok. "...are you ok?"
"She seems fine to me." The Terra hallucination replied.
"Yeah, I didn't really need your observation." Beast Boy said to the hallucination.
"Who's observation?" Raven asked her green teammate.
Beast Boy looked around the room for a bit, trying to come up with a lie. "Uh...Nobody." His lie caused him to get a glance from Raven, who appeared to know that Beast Boy wasn't being truthful. "Come on, let's find Scarecrow." Beast Boy turned into a tiger and started to make chase for the mad doctor, with Raven following.
One of the guards tried to tackle Starfire, but the Tamaranean quickly dodged the attack and fired a starbolt near his foot. "Please let me remove your goggles, I wish not to hurt you." The guard pulled a baton out of his holster and tried to hit Starfire. "But you wish to do differently, don't you?"
Suddenly, a red and yellow blur ran past and removed the goggles from the guard. "Hey Star, I don't think chatting to the guard will help him remove his goggles."
We cut to Cyborg trying to grab the goggles off a guard, but he quickly pulled a taser out of his pocket and shocked Cyborg with it, but it had no affect on the bionic teen. "Sorry, that tickled." Cyborg removed the goggles from the guard and crushed them.
Jinx used her hex powers to make the goggles disassemble themselves from a couple of guards. Just as Jinx did that, more security guards wearing those goggles entered the room.
Robin used his grappling hook to remove one of the goggles from the guards and crushed it with his foot. "How many goggles did this guy have?" Kid Flash asked his leader.
"Enough to make those Goode goggles easier." Robin replied as he forcibly pulled a goggle straight from one of the guard's faces.
Meanwhile, Scarecrow was running along a corridor trying to find his way out. The mad doctor looked behind him and sees Beast Boy and Raven in pursuit. "Oh, I guess you're not too eager to mingle with the guards, they're usually chatty to people." Scarecrow quickly threw a metal chain with teeth attached at the two, but it got lodged in the wall before it could hit them.
Raven quickly used her magic to use the chain to wrap itself on Scarecrow's wrist and started him pulling towards the two.
Beast Boy folded his arms at the mad doctor while Raven was glaring at him, with her eyes glowing white.
"Sorry Scarecrow, but you're no longer going to be scaring any people anymore, maybe some crows." Beast Boy's little quip made Raven roll her eyes a bit.
"I thought it was good." Said the Terra hallucination. Beast Boy took a quick glance at the hallucination and gave her a small smile.
"Who are you smiling to?" Raven asked.
Scarecrow took this opportunity to use his free hand to insert his syringes into Beast Boy's legs. The green Titan screamed in pain as the toxin was being injected into his bloodstream. "Beast Boy!" Raven shouted as Beast Boy started holding onto his head.
"No!" Beast Boy screamed as he started to fight the toxin.
"What's wrong Beast Boy? Scared?" Scarecrow asked sinisterly.
Raven quickly removed Scarecrow's mask and got a good look at the mad doctor's face, who still sported a grin. "Sorry I had to do that your friend." Scarecrow used his recently freed hand to try and stab Raven with the syringes, but she quickly grabbed his wrist.
"I thought you would've learned your lesson around me, doctor." Raven said to Scarecrow.
"What else could you surely have in offer?"
"Do you really wanna know?" Raven asked while flashing Scarecrow with a glare that made the mad doctor shiver. The made doctor removed his wrist from Raven's grasp and curled up in a ball, terrified of the empath after their last encounter.
Raven quickly turned to her green teammate who was inspecting his arm. "Wow, that's quite a mark." Beast Boy said as he rubbed his arm.
Raven walked up to Beast Boy, concerned. "Are you ok?"
"I'm fine Rae." Beast Boy assured his empathic teammate.
"Are you seeing anything?" Raven asked.
"No. I just fought the fear toxin." Beast Boy explained.
"How?" Raven asked.
Beast Boy shrugged his shoulders and said, "Will. Come on, Kid Flash owes some celebratory pizza."
Kid Flash ran past and said, "Did not agree to that!"
"You sure as heck will." Beast Boy shouted as he turned into a cheetah and started chasing the speedster, while Raven stared at Beast Boy, unsure if he actually fought the fear toxin.
Later at Titan's tower.
The majority of Titans were celebrating their victory over Scarecrow with pizza. Kid Flash and Jinx were laughing at something while eating their slices, Cyborg and Beast Boy were debating which show was better, Children of Anarchy or Taking Bad, Raven was eating a slice with one hand while her other to hold her book while Robin and Starfire weren't with them for whatever reason.
"Hey, where are Robin and Starfire?" Asked Jinx. "This came from Kid Flash's wallet after all."
"The two went to see who's been breaking Scarecrow out of prison." Raven replied.
"That's what they said." The Terra hallucination whispered to Beast Boy, implying she thinks they meant something else. The implication of Terra's words made Beast Boy laugh.
The team took notice of Beast Boy's random laugh and stared at him with eyebrows raised.
"Uh...What are you laughing at B?" Asked Cyborg. "Nobody said anything funny."
Beast Boy realised what he did and quickly said, "Something Kid Flash said."
"Since when I was me saying, 'I love this pizza' count as something funny?" Kid Flash asked, confused.
"Uh...It just was." Beast Boy lie.
"Smooth." Said the Terra hallucination.
"You ok B?" Jinx asked. "You've been acting weird lately."
"He appears the same to me." Said Kid Flash. "Apart from laughing at words I say like the audience in a terrible children's sitcom that somehow has a special effects budget."
"B, is there something going on?" Asked Cyborg.
"Nope, just same old Beast Boy." The green teammate denied. "Right Raven?"
Raven looked up from her book and just shrugged, "Yeah." The empath soon stood up and said, "I'm going to see what's taking them two so long."
"Hurry up Rae, I've saved them some pizzas and I think their getting cold." Cyborg requested.
"So, microwave isn't an option for them?" Asked Kid Flash.
Before the empath exited the lounge to get the two lovebirds, she took a quick glance at her green teammate, feeling he isn't being truthful. As she walked to Robin's room, her mind was wondering what Beast Boy had been doing for the last few weeks. Why was he acting so strange? Why has he been acting like somebody was here? So many questions going through the empath's head.
Raven entered Robin's room to see the Boy Wonder looking at security photos, while Starfire had fallen asleep on the desk probably how tired she was from looking at the photos.
Robin turned to see who was at the door and gave a small smile, "Oh, hi Raven."
"Cyborg's complaining about your pizza getting cold." Raven replied. "I suggest you two get it before he starts complaining."
"We can always reheat them." Said Robin.
"Yeah, but he appears to not know that despite the fact we've been living together for three years." Raven looked over Robin's shoulder to look at the photograph Robin was currently looking at. The photo had a picture of a man shrouded in shadows letting Scarecrow out of his cell. "So, how does the mad doctor do it?"
"He isn't the one who breaks out, somebody does it for him." Robin replied. "According to guards, every time he gets out one of their security guards, Vincent Marrow is always there on the scene."
"So, you want to find this Vincent Marrow?" Raven queried.
"That's where things get tricky, Vincent Marrow's been dead for two years. And he isn't even a security guard, he was the head of a biker gang in Central Vally."
"So, Scarecrow has a zombie helping out?"
"I wouldn't go far as to call him a zombie." Robin replied.
"I know, I was only joking. I don't over-exaggerate like Beast Boy." Raven explained.
Robin continued to look at the photo and said, "We'll be out in a minute. Tell Cyborg to keep ours warm."
"Sure." Said Raven. "By the way, speaking of Beast Boy, you have noticed he has been acting strange lately, right?"
Robin turned to face her and replied, "Yes, I have. Is he ok?"
"He appears to be talking to someone and every time he says he isn't, I feel his nervousness, I feel that he is lying." Raven said. "I don't know what could be wrong with him."
"Keep an eye on him, and report back to me if he's acting even stranger." Robin requested.
Raven gave her leader a nod and left the room. Robin went back to looking at the pictures, after a few moments he put the picture down and thought back to what happened in the possible future he and Starfire visited a few days ago. He remembered when the future Jinx explained to him about Beast Boy becoming Slade's apprentice and Raven killing the Titan as a mercy.
"What are we going to do?" Robin asked.
Starfire made some noise, woke up from her slumber and turned to face Robin. "Did you find anything?"
"Raven said there's something wrong with Beast Boy." Robin replied.
"Is he hallucinating Terra?"
"Not sure. Raven said he appears to be talking to somebody problem is, that person isn't there."
"What are we to do to prevent the future we saw?" Asked Starfire. "What must we do to prevent such a thing?"
"If he is hallucinating Terra, then we got to keep an eye out for Slade." Robin replied. "Because he is the one who convinced Beast Boy he can get rid of the hallucinations and knowing Slade's strengths, he's going to do a heck of a job at convincing him."
Starfire and Robin gave each other a worried glance, fearing for the possible return of Slade and the death of their teammate.
Later in the lounge.
Robin and Starfire walked in to be greeted by the team.
"There you two are, your pizzas going to get cold." Cyborg exclaimed.
"Sorry Cyborg, our little investigation took longer than we thought." Robin replied.
"More like 'his' little investigation." Jinx whispered to Kid Flash. Jinx's implicit comment made the speedster snicker.
Starfire flew to the couch and grabbed a slice of pizza. She noticed Silkie begging and shared a piece of the food with her bumgorf.
"So, what did you find?" Asked Beast Boy.
"We're looking for a dead man." Robin replied.
"Woah! Another zombie?" Asked Kid Flash. "Didn't we just deal with Jason Todd."
"No, we're dealing with somebody who could possibly using his name." Robin explained. "Later tonight, I need you is to go around the city to look for this Vincent Marrow. Get the rest you need, it's probably going to be a long night."
"Um Robin." Beast Boy interjected. "Can I have permission to go to the storage room?"
"Souvenir room." Kid Flash interjected in a sing song voice.
"For the last time Kid Flash, it's the storage room." Robin sighed. "Yes Beast Boy, take as long as you like in there, I understand."
Beast Boy gave his leader a nod and jumped off the couch. The green Titan exited the lounge and walked downstairs to the storage room.
The Terra hallucination gave a small cough which the green Titan acknowledged. "Why are we going to the storage room?"
"You remember when I told you the story about me hallucinating you when I got infected with fear toxin?" Terra replied to Beast Boy's question by giving him a small nod. "At one point, I took the hallucination to a cave that your real you resided. Trapped in rock for eternity." Beast Boy typed the password in a keypad and opened the door to the storage room. "And after she accepted it, the cave collapsed in on us." Beast Boy turned on the lights. "Star believed it to be her, but I knew it was just a tremor." He entered the storage room which was set up like a museum, since a lot of objects from their past adventures were on display. "And after that incident, we took her back at the tower."
At the centre of the room, we see the statue of former Titan/Apprentice of Slade, Terra. Beast Boy turned to the hallucination and said, "I'm going to have a moment alone with her, can you give us a minute?"
"My lips are sealed." The Terra hallucination replied.
"Hey Terra." Beast Boy greeted. "Sorry, I've been gone long. Just missions and other adventures. Our latest mission had us go up against some woman named Gretchen Goode, who created those Goode goggles. They did something to MetaHumans, like myself and turned them to mindless zombies. We also had this adventure where the Titans were turned into cats by Mumbo and I was the only one who could help them. There was this one bizarre adventure where we encountered Mumbo again and he replaced my brain with the brain of a rat. Hey, we also found out Red X was Jason Todd. Oh, he was the second Robin. He supposedly died in an explosion, but we all think otherwise. Jinx now has Robin's trust after their little adventure on an island on dinosaurs, which you could argue was the past but after Cyborg did some research, it turned out to be some kind of unmarked territory; Robin and Starfire's relationship got a bit testy and after they got sent to a possible future, they're relationship remains as strong as ever. And we had a lot of encounters with Scarecrow. First was when he injected me and Starfire with fear toxin which made me and her see you for whatever reason, second he released something called cloudburst which sounds like something out of a video game. I swear Terra, our adventures feel episodic." Beast Boy tried to hold back the tears as he continued to stare at the statue. "I wish you was here with us. You would love everything that has happened."
"Maybe there is a way of bringing her back." Said a deep monotone sinister voice.
Beast Boy's eyebrows furrowed since he recognised the voice. He turned around and saw Slade standing by the door. "Slade." The green Titan hissed.
"Did you miss me Beast Boy?"
"I was hoping we weren't going to encounter you again."
"And you are not." Said the mercenary. "I am not the real Slade."
Beast Boy's eyes went wide upon hearing that information. "You are?"
"Don't act surprised Beast Boy, you got injected with fear toxin after all." Slade explained.
"So, you're a hallucination. Just like the one Robin encountered?"
"Correct." Slade confirmed. "And as your hallucination, I know you're hallucinating Terra. And I want to help."
"Why should I trust your hallucination?"
"Because you're scared what the hallucination might do to you mentally." Slade replied.
"I actually am." Beast Boy replied.
"And you are also scared at how your friends will react aren't you?" Asked Slade.
"Yeah."
"Well, I know something you don't." Said Slade. "I know that to get rid of those hallucinations you need to bring her back."
"How? Raven said none of her spells worked."
"How do you know she isn't lying?" Slade asked.
"Because Raven never lies." Beast Boy replied.
"She's hiding something from you. There was a way to bring Terra back."
"There is?" Beast Boy asked in disbelief.
"Look at one of her books. The one with a skull symbol." Slade explained.
"How do you know?"
"Like I said, I may be a hallucination, but I know things." Slade explained as he disappeared from Beast Boy.
Beast Boy stared at the area Slade was standing in just a seconds ago, not sure if he should listen to the alleged hallucination. "Is there actually a way to bring her back?"
"How can you trust him?" Asked the Terra hallucination.
"I don't want to, but what if he's actually right?" Asked Beast Boy.
"Do you believe Raven could be lying to you?!" Terra exclaimed. "Out of all the members of the team, she's the one who doesn't lie. Well, if it isn't regarding her that is."
"But he asked a good question, what if there is something Raven was hiding?"
"How can you be so sure?!" Terra asked.
"Because I'm scared what might happen to my mind if you stay around!" Beast Boy angrily replied.
"Why, do you think it's not nice having me around?!"
Beast Boy saw in the hallucination's face that she looked to be on the brink to tears, even though he knew she wasn't there, he felt she was actually going to cry. "It's not the same, I'm sorry." Beast Boy replied coldly before he walked out of the room.
Beast Boy looked back at the storage room and saw the Terra hallucination was gone, for now.
Back in the lounge, Robin had gathered the Titans together to sort out a plan on finding Vincent Marrow. "In order to find this Vincent Marrow, we're going to split up into teams. Starfire and I will patrol the area surrounding the prison, Raven and Cyborg will go into the council database to find any information regarding him, Kid Flash and Jinx will perform a sweep of the rest of the city, Beast Boy you stay here and watch the security feed of Scarecrow's prison cell. Am I clear?"
"Sure are Rob." Cyborg replied.
"Ok, Titans go!" After Robin shouted his battle cry, Starfire carried Robin as she flew out of the window, Raven jumped into the T-Car with Cyborg while Kid Flash carried Jinx, bridal style as he ran out of the tower.
"Ok, everyone's gone." Beast Boy said. "Time to see what Raven's been hiding from me."
"Shouldn't you be doing the task at hand?" Asked the Terra hallucination.
"I'm just going to see what Raven's been hiding and then do the task. Ok?"
"Beast Boy, how can you be so sure that Raven is hiding something from you?" Asked the Terra hallucination. "And if she is, how can Slade be sure it'll bring her back?"
"I don't trust Slade, let alone an illusion. But I gotta be sure." Beast Boy replied.
Later.
Beast Boy entered Raven's room and to try and find the book Slade was talking about. But it was going to be hard since Raven's room was such a massive book worm. "Geez, and I thought The Chief was a bigger book worm."
Beast Boy closed the door and pulled a book from one of the shelves and saw the title of the book was The Adventures of Chuckleberry Flynn. "Nope." Beast Boy quickly put the book back and pulled another one out. The book was titled, The Name of the Stone which Beast Boy quickly put away. "Nope."
"That's her reading material." Said the deep monotone voice of Slade. The green Titan quickly turned around and saw the hallucination standing beside the open door. "Try the bookshelf across the reading materials."
Beast Boy walked over the over bookshelf and pulled a book from it. The book had a black cover and a skull in the front. "Bingo." Beast Boy whispered.
The green Titan opened the book and flicked through a few pages that had pictures of levitating objects, keeping control of emotions while using powers and finally, an image of a magician freeing somebody from stone. "What?"
"Go on, read it Beast Boy." The Slade hallucination demanded.
"Uh...It says "The method of casting this spell is unknown since the secret was lost. But rumour has it, there is a secret map hidden in the book of Vetiti." Beast Boy's eyes went wide upon reading the book, feelings of betrayal and sadness coursing through him. "There was a way."
"Yes, I'm sorry you had to find this out." Slade apologised.
"But, she's been in stuck as a statue for too long and Raven's just decided to keep her as a prisoner for too long?"
"Best you figured this out." Said Slade. "Wasn't Raven your friend?"
"I don't know anymore." Said Beast Boy.
Meanwhile.
Robin and Starfire were watching Jump City maximum security prison from afar. Robin pulled his Titan communicator out of his pocket and contacted one of the Titans, "Cyborg, have you found anything about Vincent Marrow?"
"The database ain't got nothing on him. No criminal record, no education degree, no birth certificate and more importantly, no citizenship in Jump City." Cyborg replied.
"This is very strange." Said Robin. "Either he entered the city illegally or that's not his birth name."
"So, how did he get the security guard job, and what did he want with Scarecrow?" Cyborg asked.
"That's what I want to find out." Said Robin.
"I don't mean to interject in your conversation, but why did you entrust Beast Boy in watching the security feed?" Raven asked. "You do realise he could fall asleep, right?"
"I trust Beast Boy, remember?" Robin reminded the empath. "Report back if you find anything."
"You got it Robin." Copied Cyborg.
Robin hung up on Cyborg and started typing into his communicator.
"Robin, is there a real reason why you decided to let Beast Boy watch the feed of prison?" Starfire asked her boyfriend.
"He's being watched." Robin replied.
"What?!"
"By me."
"Why are you watching our friend?" Asked Starfire. "I thought you trusted him."
"I do Star, but I want to see if he really is talking to Terra." Robin replied.
"But, I thought we prevented that future." Starfire retorted.
"I know, but Flash didn't mention when he starts hallucinating." Robin explained. "So I've placed cameras shaped like marbles that Cyborg invented not too long ago to keep an eye on him."
"And..."
Robin turned to Starfire and said, "He's in the security room not even moving an inch."
The Boy Wonder then started to stroke his chin. "Hmmmmm. Cyborg did mention they suffered some technical difficulties. They somehow didn't get footage of Blackfire getting out of her bed when she stayed over during her 'reformed' stage."
"Even if Beast Boy is hallucinating Terra, he would tell us, yes?" Starfire asked.
"I don't know if he has the ability. I think he's scared what we'll do to him."
"And what will we do to him?"
Robin stared off into the distance and replied, "I don't know."
Meanwhile.
Cyborg and Raven were still digging around the city database to try and find more stuff about Vincent Marrow. There were files all over the room due to their excessive search.
Raven was reading a file while Cyborg was speaking to Kid Flash. "Did you two find anything?"
"Nothing, except we had to take out Condiment King again." Kid Flash groaned. "If this guy's whole gimmick is condiments, how did he escape?"
"What was he doing? Robbing a fast food joint?" Cyborg asked.
"No, he almost killed a guy who reacted badly to mustard." Kid Flash replied.
"Ok, guess the only people we gotta defend from this strange character is people who have bad allergies." Cyborg retorted.
While Cyborg and Kid Flash were discussing Condiment King, Raven felt something going through her. She felt uncomfortable and uneasy, but she couldn't quite put her finger on it. "Somebody has been in my room again." Raven mumbled.
"Sorry Rae." Cyborg interjected.
"Somebody was in my room, reading a forbidden book." Raven replied. "Or maybe it was my magic playing again, last time that happened nobody was there."
"Who do you think could have done it?"
"Beast Boy, probably." Raven replied. "I feel him right now, he feels angry and betrayed."
"Well, that's probably because he found out I beaten his high score on Super Mob Ninjas." Cyborg replied.
"Probably likely." Raven agreed. "Anyway, Marrow might not have a birth certificate or a citizenship, but he has an apartment."
"I'll let Robin know right away." Cyborg retorted.
"Yeah." Raven agreed. The empath quickly glanced at Titan tower from the window. She stared at it, worried what Beast Boy is probably going through right now. She feels that he is being driven mad by the thing he has been hiding from the team. "What's wrong Beast Boy?"
Back at the tower.
Beast Boy is seen staring at the Terra statue in betrayal and sadness, ever since finding out Raven, his teammate, his friend, had been keeping a secret from him for so long. The green Titan then flash backed to himself calling her a good friend and her replying 'So are you.'
The green Titan growled and picked up punched the wall. "Why?! Why?! Why?!" Beast Boy shouted as he punched the wall in anger. "Why Raven?! I thought you were my friend!"
"Not anymore." Said Slade.
"I guess you're right." Beast Boy agreed. "Why did she have to lie to me?"
"Do you need somebody to knock senses into you?" Slade asked before he smacked Beast Boy across the face. Beast Boy's eyes widened as he touched the spot on his face where Slade slapped him.
"But I thought you weren't there."
"I'm not." Slade assured him. "You haven't forgotten when Robin was hallucinating me, he felt me as well?"
"Oh yeah." Beast Boy said, coming to the realisation.
"Why do you think she didn't want to tell you?" Slade asked. "What would've happened if you were to find out before you did."
"I don't know." Beast Boy said. "Does she want to keep me safe?"
"Safe?! Safe??" Slade chuckled. "She probably doesn't. After all, she is usually the one who mocks you. Maybe she wanted payback after you called her a freak."
"I didn't mean to." Said Beast Boy.
"I know." Said Slade. "But, she's probably got some rage issues with you. Cause even though you saved her, she still doesn't want you to be happy with Terra."
Beast Boy glared at Slade and then screamed, "NOOOOPO!!!!!!!"
Beast Boy turned into a Bigfoot and tried to attack the hallucination, but he quickly dodged the big arms and kicked the green Titan in the face.
"You're lying!"
"Am I?" Slade asked.
Beast Boy turned into a polar bear and tried to slash Slade and grabbed the paw before it could hit him. Beast Boy turned into a dog and tried to knock Slade down, but the hallucination kicked him across the room.
"Are you forgetting I'm just in your head?" Asked Slade.
"I will not believe you, let alone an illusion!" Beast Boy turned into a tiger and tried to pounce at the mercenary, but he quickly kicked Beast Boy across the room.
The green Titan tried to stand up, but Slade kicked him in the face leaving a black eye. Before he kicked him again, Beast Boy quickly grabbed his foot, but Slade used his free foot to kick him in the stomach.
"Fight me like a beast!" Slade demanded as he backed away to let Beast Boy get up. "Come on Beast Boy, it's either you die fighting me or get Terra back."
Beast Boy groaned and turned into a pterodactyl and tried to catch him, the merc retaliated by jumping over him and ducking him every time he swooped in. At the right moment, Slade tried to kick Beast Boy in the face, but the Green Titan turned into a fly.
"You think I didn't predict that." Slade said before he flicked the green fly across the room.
Beast Boy screamed and tried to punch Slade this time, but due to his lack of fighting skills, he was outnumbered and kicked to the floor. Beast Boy growled and then turned into a T-Rex.
"Ok, how do I handle this one?" Slade asked.
The green T-Rex tried to stomp on Slade, but he quickly dodged the foot and jumped on the table. Beast Boy tried to crush the hallucination with his tail, but he jumped off the table and rolled underneath the reptile.
"Stop, Beast Boy!" Slade demanded. "Is this what you want?! I can help you bring back Terra!"
"Why should I trust you? Beast Boy asked. "You could be lying."
"You saw the book Beast Boy and you know it to be true deep down." Slade said as Beast Boy turned back. "You know deep down your friend betrayed you and lied to you, you know deep down she wants to see you mourn for her. You know I am right. So, do you want Terra back?"
"Beast Boy..." The Terra hallucination interjected. "...Raven probably had a good reason. Do you have any idea what you're doing, with him?"
"Beast Boy, do you want the girl you love to be trapped in stone for the rest of her life? Is that what you want?"
"Beast Boy, think about this." The Terra hallucination begged. "If you bring me back, than my sacrifice probably meant nothing!"
Beast Boy was caught in a tight space. Which hallucination should he listen to? Should he listen to the hallucination that appeared to know how to bring Terra back? Or the one he has known for the longest time?
"What's it going to be?" Asked Slade.
Beast Boy stared at Slade with his eyebrows furrowed and then said, "What should I do?"
Meanwhile.
Raven and Cyborg are seen standing on top of a building staring at a building just in front of them. "Is this the place?" Asked Cyborg.
"That's what the address said." Raven replied.
Robin, Starfire, Kid Flash and Jinx then arrive and start staring at the building with them.
"Should we go in?" Kid Flash asked out loud.
"Well no one is home." Jinx replied.
"Titans, I suggest we go into the apartment and try and find out what's Mr Marrow's connection with Scarecrow." Robin commanded his team.
Cyborg pulled his wrist up to look at it and tapped on it. Due to it having some technical difficulties.
"Faulty tech, Cy?" Kid Flash asked
"I don't know." Cyborg replied. "I got two heat signatures in the tower and now I just got one...Definitely a technical error."
Later.
The Titans enter the apartment through an open window and saw it was like any regular apartment. The room was connected to the kitchen and there were two separate doors connecting to two separate rooms.
"Ok, let's start investigating the apartment. Cyborg, Jinx you two check the bathroom, Star and I will check the bedroom while Raven and Kid Flash check the room and the kitchen." Robin ordered.
"Permission to raise the fridge?" Asked Kid Flash.
Robin sighed. "Permission granted." Kid Flash smiled and ran to the fridge. He opened the door and started eating a salad sandwich while the other Titans go and investigate the other rooms.
Raven approached Kid Flash who was now chowing down on a chicken leg. "Ok, if the food is poisonous don't come crying to Robin for giving you permission."
"Metabolism." Kid Flash replied.
"I told you to keep extra supplies of food in your pocket." Said Raven.
"I did. Ate it all." Kid Flash said as he threw away the bone. "Oh cool, a box of herbal tea." Kid Flash attempted to pull the box out of the fridge, but the fridge made a clicking noise as it did so. After the clicking noise the entire fridge opened up to reveal a secret room filled with weapons and gadgets.
The speedster and the empath stared at the sight in amazement. "Don't you just love my metabolism?" Kid Flash asked Raven. "Hey guys, I found something."
The other Titans make it to Kid Flash's location and stare amazed at what he was seeing.
"How did you know that?" Cyborg asked.
"It was just a random guess." Kid Flash replied.
"I knew there was something wrong with the fridge since somebody put herbal tea in there." Said Raven.
The Titans entered the secret room and started looking around. Kid Flash picked up a very tiny object shaped like a bug. "Hmm, souvenir."
Robin picked up a funny looking contraption and pushed a button. The contraption released nothing and he noticed it needed some kind of canister to release the gas.
Starfire picked up a disk and noticed it had a familiar 'S' symbol. "Why does the 'S' look familiar?"
Cyborg picked up a tiny little purple cube and started analysing it. "Hmmmmm. What's this little baby?" He pushed a button and it released a realistic holographic projection of Raven looking at a book. "Woah."
Raven turned to face Cyborg and flinched since she didn't expect the bionic teen to be standing near her. "Ok, did not expect that." Raven said.
"Sorry, those are some amazing holograms. This Vincent Marrow's amazing at tech. Much better than mine." Cyborg commented as he turned off the hologram.
Jinx pulled a mask out of its display, the mask looked similar to Slade's and there was a note next to it that said, 'Immune to Fear Toxin.'
"Hey Robin, take a look at this." Jinx called out.
Robin took the mask and then hissed, "Slade."
"Ok, so Vincent Marrow's in league with Scarecrow and Slade." Kid Flash commented. "Is there anybody he isn't in league with?"
"I'm not sure." Robin replied. "Titans, take whatever you want so we can take them back and analyse them."
"May take something?" Beast Boy interjected.
Robin gave his teammate a stern glance. "Beast Boy, I thought I told you to watch Scarecrow's cell just in case."
"You did." Said Beast Boy.
The Titans all gave each other glances since they felt a bit suspicious about how Beast Boy knew where they were and chilled attitude.
"How did you know where we were?" Starfire asked.
"I didn't. I was told to be here." Beast Boy replied.
"By who?" Raven asked.
Beast Boy's smile soon vanished as he turned to Raven and glared at her. "Funny you and your black eye should ask that Raven."
"What black eye?" Raven asked before her green teammate punched her in the face. The Titans reacted surprised by Beast Boy's action.
"Grass Stain, what the heck was that for?!" Cyborg exclaimed.
"Beast Boy, why?!" Raven asked angrily.
"Why?! Why?!" Beast Boy repeated. "Why?! Because there was a way to bring Terra back and you lied to me!"
"What?" Raven reacted, surprised at Beast Boy's discovery.
"You know what I'm talking about!"
"Does she?" Starfire asked.
"Beast Boy, there wasn't a way to bring her back. We're still trying." Robin assured him.
"Yes, still trying not to!" Beast Boy exclaimed. "Raven, why don't you tell your friends what I found out."
Raven stared at her friends, scared and a little worried.
"Raven, is this true." Starfire asked.
Raven looked on the floor, shamefully and replied, "Yes." Raven's response got surprised looks from her teammates.
Beast Boy took the book from the tabletop and said, "How does it feel to hide secrets from our friends Raven?" Beast Boy asked. "Wait, you did that once, your birthday." Beast Boy chuckled. "We'll discuss this again another time."
"Beast Boy, why are you taking that book?" Robin asked.
"This book will lead me to the spell to free Terra." Beast Boy replied.
"Beast Boy, you don't understand what that spell will do." Said Raven.
"I do, it will free my best friend." Beast Boy replied.
Raven's face turned into a very angry face and demanded, "Beast Boy, give me the book!"
"Oh there we go Raven, you don't want me to be happy."
"Beast Boy, give me the book!" Raven demanded more angrily this time.
"Give me a reason why!" The green Titan demanded while the other Titans watched on, unsure of what to do.
"Give me the book and I will."
Beast Boy shrugged his shoulder and said, "If you insist."
"I do." Raven replied.
"Here's your crummy book!" Beast Boy said before he hit his empath teammate in the face with it.
"Beast Boy!" Robin shouted as he tried to intervene.
"Stay back Robin!" Beast Boy demanded as he pulled a Slade disk from the tabletop.
"Take a step and I blow everyone, especially the ones who attempt to attack!" Beast Boy shouted.
"Beast Boy, you should probably stop." Suggested the Terra hallucination.
"I'm not stopping!" Beast Boy shouted.
"Who are you talking to?!" Shouted Kid Flash.
"Terra!"
"What?!" Cyborg asked.
"Wait, you see Terra?" Asked Raven.
"Yeah, now you all know." Beast Boy said. "Now you all know." The green Titan said as his pupils turned green.
"Beast Boy, your eyes." Robin pointed out.
"What about them?" Beast Boy asked angrily.
"I know the look in your pupils. The fear toxin." Robin replied. Robin then gave Starfire a worried glance, knowing this was the moment that the possible future was talking about.
"Oh and it's not just Terra I'm seeing, it's Slade." Beast Boy said as he exited the room.
"Slade." Robin reacted, terrified.
"Beast Boy, we are your friends, why did you not tell us?" Starfire asked.
"Oh don't try and persuade me that your my friends." Beast Boy said as he pushed a button that activated purple lights and shut the door tight.
"Oh, does he really think he can trap us in here?" Kid Flash asked, overconfidently. "He does realise I can go through objects by manipulating my molecule-" While Kid Flash was talking and trying to run through the wall, he crashed into it. "What?"
"My powers, they don't seem to work." Said Jinx.
"Mine aren't either." Starfire replied.
"I can't move." Cyborg commented.
"I feel weak." Raven commented.
Robin started bashing against the door in order to try and get out, but it was no use. "No! No!"
"Sorry about that." Said the voice of Beast Boy. "A little locked door and power cancelling lights will make sure you don't try and stop me from bringing back a friend."
"Beast Boy, let us out!" Robin shouted.
"Nope, I'm sorry Robin. I didn't want to do it. But the voice of Slade told me to if I wanted to see Terra again."
"Beast Boy, you need to stop the-"
"Blah, blah, blah." Beast Boy interjected. "Now, Raven is there something you want to say to me?"
Raven stared at the locked door in regret and then said, "Beast Boy, I'm sorry."
Outside the room, Beast Boy did a mock laugh. "It's too late for that Raven. Enjoy being locked up." Beast Boy gave a sinister smile as he exited the apartment to read the book to rescue Terra,
Inside the room, the whole team was shocked by Beast Boy's betrayal.
"Robin?" Starfire said, wanting to see if Robin had a plan.
Robin turned away from the door and then said to his team, "I thought this day would never come."
