Hello everyone! Thank you so much for all those who have reviewed! You guys don't know how much that means to me!
Also! Announcement on this chapter, for those of you who are interested, I will be updating my other fic, its one that takes place during Sister location. Currently it has VERY few chapters, but I hope to be updating that one more soon. Why announce this besides a shameless self-promotion? Well, it's because they are connected! Yes! This one and the other fic are in the same universe, and I hope to one day even bring them together! I have plans for both of them that have been worked out with my great friend Selkiesong22! They won't seem connected at first, but will certainly feel that way later on. Anyways, feel free to check it out! It's called; A Brother's Promise (Sister Location)
Onto the reviews...
TU4QU0I53T4IAN6L3: I agree! That is a very good point! Habits cannot be destroyed, only replaced. And hmm...perhaps? Perhaps not...we shall one day see...
Fantom Knight: Ah! I'm sorry about the misspelling of the name! I was doing the reviews on my tablet and must not have seen it! Also...he knows of her. She is bound to the Puppet's body and he is bound to a certain area, so unless the Puppet goes over they wouldn't really have many interactions. I'm glad you like Scott tho!
Silverleone: I think you may be right, (but that's all I'll say about that...)
PK - SPRINGTRAP HUG MEH: Lots of suggestions! I assume you are talking about the one who messed with the bots? If so, well...I can tell you...not much really, sorry. Also as for Shadow Bonnie and Freddy? I hope to introduce them! So don't worry! I'm actually glad you have questions! And I'm glad you like the pushing of Leo's condition. I do my best to acknowledge it.
treyshawnhorse: Well here you are with a update! I'm so glad you like it!
SilentAmbiance: I'm glad you do! And as for Scott, I can promise you that he is a good guy, so don't you be worrying about Scott. As for the drugs? Well we will have to see won't we? And I'm so glad you like Enix!
Chapter 27
Reveal
"I * hate motorcycles." Leo growled shoving the recently removed helmet into Enix's arms. The younger guard chuckled.
"Yeah, you hate a lot of things don't ya?" A side glare from the older guard only made Enix laugh more.
Leo let out a breath and looked at the building before them. Scott's directions had been accurate, here they were.
He glanced up at Enix as the man came over letting out a big breath and resting his hands on his hips. He looked so much more imposing then Leo's hunched over position, his borrowed clothes rumpled and hanging on him loosely.
The younger man caught his gaze and raised an eyebrow, "yes?" But Leo shook his head turning back to face the building.
"Nothing. C'mon, he said the tapes would be in the storage room." The older guard hobbled over to the condemned and abandoned pizzeria stepping past the trash and rubble, the place was mostly clean, but age had taken its toll.
"I wonder how long it's been." Enix muttered from next to him, Leo let out a breath and looked at the aged paint.
"Had to be a few years at the least." Leo didn't notice Enix stopped until he spoke.
"Wait, Leo, if this place has been abandoned...there may be some squatters here." He voiced, causing the injured man to look back at him and then back at the building.
"Maybe, but we need that box Enix." He reminded, and the blue haired man nodded with another breath.
"Yeah...right." He paused and went back over to his bike, Leo watched as he dug through a side compartment, and he raised an eyebrow as the younger guard pulled out a lug wrench.
"You plan on bashing their heads in, or replacing their tires?" He asked, and Enix sent him a look with a breath as he came back over.
"Look, if we are going to be going up against animatronics, then I'm not about to get shived to death by some puny squatter."
The older guard let out a breath and rolled his eyes, "whatever, let's just get in there."
After Enix shattered the glass of the double doors and reached inside unlocking it, they made their way in.
The interior was dark, and it had a strange foreboding feeling, a musky air that reminded the two of them of the many murders that must've happened within the confines of these walls.
"Geez..." Enix voiced, breaking the silence first, Leo let out a breath and gripped the handle of his crutch more.
"Feels like we shouldn't be here..." the older guard trailed glancing around, it was cheerful, but that only made it all the more ominous.
Unlike the place that they worked at, this one seemed very specifically geared toward children. There were posters of the toy animatronics everywhere, some of them were dirtied, but still up, others however were ripped, or hanging on by a tack.
The colors, while faded, were made of the neon type, clearly trying to appeal to a younger crowd. They were brought to a halt as they examined the hallway around them.
"...knowing the context of what happened here...it just makes everything all the more creepy..." Enix murmured, and Leo swallowed with a nod.
"Yeah..."
However, with a breath, the blue haired man gripped the lug wrench in one hand, and put his helmet down.
"But we are here for a reason." He declared and Leo nodded steeling himself as well.
"Right. Gotta get the music boxes." With that, they headed down the hallway and entered the main room which doubled as the dining room.
"Now, where would the storage room be?" Enix asked as Leo looked around for said room.
"I'd imagine it would be away from prying eyes, parts and service is at the end of our hall with the security office between it and the guests. If keeping with the childlike appearance of the restaurant, they aren't going to want the children to see the storage room. It would...ruin the magic so to speak." The older guard muttered as he scanned the room.
It was desolate, the place where the toys were was barren, for obvious reasons of course, but that coupled with the grimey look to everything.
Well it gave off a strange and unexplainable feeling.
"Right, so, you get off that leg and take a seat, I'll go check by the office." The other guard announced, and before Leo could stop him, he went over to the office.
The older guard stared after him his mouth opened in protest, but he let out a breath and looked to the side, "yeah, let's leave the crippled man alone in a creepy abandoned arcade..." he trailed, before huffing and hobbling over to a seat and pulling out the chair. With another huff, he collapsed into it and gazed at everything around him.
As his eyes landed on the carousel, he pulled out the pack of cigarettes Enix had left him and lit one leaning back in his seat as he waited.
It was strange, because despite the help of the smoke, Leo couldn't relax. He couldn't explain it, but his hackles were raised, and he felt quite paranoid. Normally he would chalk it up to life itself, with the addition of the current situation he was in...but it wasn't just that.
He felt like he was being watched.
As he waited, he sent several paranoid looks around the restaurant, trying to find the source of this feeling. The cause of the hairs on his neck and arm to rise up.
Only for him to jump and whip toward the sound of footsteps. But he relaxed moments later, it was Enix. He had a cardboard box in hand and came over with a breath.
"Alright, I found them, let's get out of here." He said, and Leo nodded with a breath as he got up and tossed down his cigarette and stomping it out with his good foot.
"Yeah, couldn't agree more."
The two of them headed to the exit and Enix took a breath causing the older guard to look at him, the younger one stared straight ahead. "I'm a hundred precent certain that we are not alone here."
That made Leo look behind them, only to turn back around and walk with the taller man again.
"Yeah...I felt it too. You think it's another animatronic?" He asked, not raising his voice above a whisper.
"No. Animatronics don't giggle hysterically like people."
That made Leo's eyes widen and pick up the pace of his hobble as he tried to keep up with the long strides of his compatriot.
Enix couldn't help but laugh at Leo as the guard clung to the tape box like his life depended on it.
The older guard sat in front of the younger one on the bike. Clutching onto the box with an ironclad grip.
"Ya gotta hang onto the handles!" Enix called over the wind, Leo turned his head.
"What!?" But Enix shook his head, with the helmet on it was almost impossible for him to hear anything.
He doubted this would end up anything but a chew out later, but it's either this or the guy dies and Enix gets killed by the animatronics.
Driving with one hand with one hand and moved one arm at a time under Leo's arms. The guard flinched but didn't otherwise react. Enix took that as a good sign and made it so both arms were under Leo's arms.
His own arms hovering near the older guard's waist.
Leo didn't seem to care and likely concluded that he was safer that way, so everything was fine. Until on a turn, Leo ended up leaning against Enix's arm.
Which wouldn't have been a problem…
But Enix's eyes widened when instead of normal waist…
The new guard felt his comrades ribs.
They entered the building only a few minutes before it was supposed to open. John was already there, if the muttering from his office was anything to go by, Jamie was there too, cleaning tables and making sure the cups were ready. The animatronics were up on stage but looked over at their entrance.
It was also then that Leo noticed the coming soon sign off Foxy's door. He blinked and went over to the door curiously and opened it up as Enix went over to Jamie.
The last time Leo had been in here was probably close to two weeks ago, but it looked nearly brand new as he entered. Foxy was fussing over the curtains and hopping from his stage and over to the chairs. Obsessively adjusting their position.
"Excited huh?" Leo asked, causing the animatronic to stop and look over at him. Both of his ears lifted and he came bounding over, leaping over one of the table and stopping just in front of Leo.
The guard prided himself on the fact that he didn't jump or flinch this time.
"Leo! We were worried ya wouldn't make it in time! Jamie came and told me that they would be openin' ma cove today!" He looked around at everything and mocked a breath as he grinned. "Finally get to be with the kiddos again..."
Leo couldn't help but smile at the fox's contagious optimism, "that's really great Foxy. See? I told you you would be able to entertain kids again." he paused before lightly putting a hand on his shoulder piece. The fox blinked and turned to look at him. "Just...be careful okay? I know you are excited, but don't get too excited, we don't want anything to happen right?" He advised, and Foxy nodded seriously.
"Of course, I'll be the most careful being there is!" Then he went back over to the table, and Leo couldn't help but blink at him, he didn't remember Joey ever finishing fixing him…
"Hey Foxy?" He called, causing the red predator to turn and look at him with a raised eyebrow, "Joey finished fixing you then?"
"Hm? Oh, she was almost finished, but had a sick day, so this mornin' the Acid lad came by and finished me off while ye and blue haired fellow we're gettin' the music box." He shrugged, "he did good and finished in about thirty minutes, he left about an hour ago."
With a pause Leo nodded though he couldn't help but frown a bit as Foxy turned and adjusted the chairs more.
He didn't realize that Acid could fix animatronics…
The day was pretty busy, with Foxy's room opening, kids from everywhere wanted to come and see him again. Leo caught a brief sight of Henry and his blond friend in the room as well.
Foxy was enjoying himself, Leo could tell. He was animated, even more so than his programming required, a few times Leo had to send him a look to make him calm down and return to his normal perimeters during the day.
There were a lot of people, so Leo only stayed in the room for a little bit before he headed back to his office. However, Enix was there on the cameras looking frazzled. The older guard hobbled in and raised an eyebrow.
"You look overwhelmed." He stated with a raised eyebrow, the blue haired man looked up and took a breath.
"Yeah, well I had too hide all the music boxes, and then there was a fight between the kids over who got to stand closer to toy Bonnie." He looked up and let out a breath, "who knew that rabbit would be the fan favorite huh?" At that Leo could only shrug. He came over and looked at the cameras, feeling a bit excited that for once he was taller than the other guard.
Though not by much…
"Hey! You two!" Jamie's voice made them look up at the left door, the waiter himself also looked quite frazzled. "You can't just be hiding out in here! With Cindy and Jared sick we are short on waiter staff. Enix you are going to be working with me. Leo you gotta watch the toy's room. It is a mess in there and there are hardly any adults. Now c'mon! We have work to do!" He ordered and then left the room, the two guards stared at where he had been before looking at each other.
"Are we supposed to listen to him?" Enix asked with raised eyebrows.
Leo let out a breath and slumped his shoulders, "technically no. But he will give us a buttload of grief if we don't." With a grunt he headed out of the office, hearing Enix follow him after a moment.
Once in the toys room, Leo had pulled up a chair and sat in the back to watch all the children. Jamie was right, there was maybe one parent in here.
Instinctively that thought alone made him nervous for their safety, which in turn made him watch who went in and out carefully.
Busy days like this were stressful, there were more than just their regular customers, and as a result. Leo didn't always know who belonged to who, so he had to make sure to watch the children's reactions when the adult came over. So far it had been the usual complaining and whining. But still, situations like this made him nervous.
It was interesting however, to be in the same room as the toys. Leo had found that he enjoyed watching the animatronics preform. No, not for the stupid songs and dance. But he liked to watch them for the joy in their eyes.
This is what they were made for, to bring joy to children, and it made him upset that someone came along and ruined that innocence. They were children's entertainers. They shouldn't have to have experienced such horror, they shouldn't be ordered to kill night guards because one man decided to have his stupid kill fix and murdered children.
Their very entertainers had become their graves, and if that wasn't something that turned someone's stomach, then there was something wrong.
The rest of the day was uneventful, Leo had to calm down a temper tantrum from one of the kids as the toys had to go on break. Which wasn't really needed, but it was company policy to allow the parents to pull their children away without too much of a fuss.
But sometimes it had the opposite effect.
However, despite the tantrum moment, things went smoothly, as far as Leo could see there were no snatchings, and every kid went home with their parents.
The evening guard had failed to show up again, which wasn't great news for Leo. Normally he didn't care. But he was exhausted today. It's like everything that had happened in the past month and a half came crashing down on him like a tidal wave.
He sat in the toys room, having moved to one of the tables, but certainly not wanting to move anymore. He rested his head on his arm, and gazed at the wall in front of him.
Sure, it was probably dangerous to be in their room, but it was still day and he was tired.
Under careful watch of Bonnie...for some reason, Enix was replacing all the cups, plates and decoration on the table. Jamie was sweeping the hall, currently out of sight. The animatronics were still on stage, but Enix could feel Bonnie's eyes boring into his back.
Finally he turned around and threw out his hands, "what? What am I doing so wrong?" He demanded, and the rabbit's ear lifted in surprise at the acknowledgement. Before he looked at the table and pointed.
"The plates go, blue, green, red, but the cups go, green, red, blue." He informed, and Enix turned to look at the cups. He had put them green, blue, and red. He turned to look up at the bunny and raised an eyebrow.
"Really?" The hare nodded firmly and Enix sighed going back to them and starting to shuffle them around.
The restaurant had been closed for about thirty minutes now, so Enix shouldn't have been surprised when the fox suddenly came bounding out of his cove.
However he still was, and jerked with a swear, he stared at the animatronic as he jumped up onto the stage to speak with the others.
"Guys! Kids were around me all day long! They wanted to hear ma stories!" He explained, and Freddy smiled.
"That is fantastic Foxy, I told you that you would be able to entertain the children like you used to." He said and Foxy grinned as Bonnie patted his shoulder.
"Wonderful job Foxy." He chuckled, "your cove had more attendance then the toys did on their first day." He gave him a grin, and Foxy returned one.
"As it should be!"
"I knew things would go well!" Chica cheered happily, and Enix couldn't help but smile at the sight of them interacting.
It reminded him of that brief interaction he had seen as a child, so...human and life-like. It was so strange to see the bots, who were often swinging around stiffly only for them now to be interacting with each other like old friends.
He didn't dare intrude upon them congratulating Foxy so when he heard Jamie's footsteps he went over to him.
"Hey Jamie, I wanted to ask you something." The waiter looked up at him and smiled.
"Sure! Ask away." Enix nodded and took a breath.
"...tell me, have you ever seen Leo eat?"
Leo didn't realize he had drifted off, until a strange but familiar smell filled his nose, he opened his eyes a crack and then winced at the light, slowly recovering he opened his eyes and sat up. Wincing a bit as his body gave it's usual ache.
With a yawn he looked across from him and found Jamie and Enix eating slices of cheese pizza. His brow furrowed and he took a breath finishing off his yawn.
"What are you guys doing?" his question caused them both to look over.
"Oh, hey, you're up." Jamie said with a mouth full of pizza, Enix was licking his fingers.
"Yeah...any reason you decided to eat pizza here? Ya know, besides a death wish?" The older guard leaned forward on his good elbow, resting his jaw on his palm.
"Heh...yeah no, this pizza is from the restaurant a few blocks down. We had it delivered ten minutes ago." Enix informed and leaned back in his seat kicking up his legs.
"Ah, well...any reason you are eating it in here?" He inquired, adjusting in his seat and taking a breath.
"Well we wanted to see if our fellow employee wanted any. After all it's gonna be a long night tonight." Enix responded, sliding over a paper plate. Leo's eyes flickered down to the slice and he shifted in place.
"I'm vegetarian." He countered, and Jamie raised an eyebrow.
"Well then! What a coincidence!" He moved the top box and opened the lid to reveal pizza with vegetables on it, "the restaurant had a buy one get one deal, except the get one was vegetarian. What luck huh?" The look in his eye made Leo shift in place.
"Um...heh...did I say vegetarian? I was...trying to be nice, I actually don't like pizza." He said, glancing between them. They shared a look and Jamie closed the box leaning back with a breath.
"So, how long have you been refusing to eat Leo?" Enix asked, gazing at him with a calm look. Leo blinked and looked between them.
"What? What the * guys? Of course I eat! Just because I don't like eating around people doesn't mean I don't eat." He argued, and Jamie sighed rubbing his face.
"Look...Leo, this is something I've wondered for awhile, but I wasn't sure until Enix told me just how light you were, or how small your waist was." The waiter looked at him with a breath. "How long has it been since you've eaten something?"
At the mention of his waist, Leo's hand went to it and he took a breath, "look, you guys are being dramatic. I eat alright? How else would I be here if I didn't?" He asked, unable to help but getting to his feet, he regretted it immediately. However he stubbornly held his ground. Neither Jamie or Enix rose to their feet.
"There are ways Leo, I knew a girl in highschool who did the same thing." Jamie pulled on one of his curls, "I just wish I had recognized the signs sooner." At that from the waiter, Enix took a breath and looked at Leo.
"Listen, we want to help you, look, obviously we don't want you to die, so can you tell me why you have stopped eating?"
"Stop it...stop it...stop it! Stop talking to me like that!" He snapped, slamming a hand down on the table and instantly regretting it. "I am perfectly fine! I am not a helpless child! I have been functioning fine on my own! I don't need help and I don't want it! So %%% off!" He ordered before leaving the room.
He hated how he hobbled out. It took all the fire out of what he said.
However, he froze at the sound of Enix's watch beeping.
Everyone in the room tensed and looked to the toys...and all three of them were looking at them.
"*..."
"* it Jamie, you have to get out of here." Leo ordered as he did his best to shove the waiter toward the door. It wasn't doing much, but the guard did believe the message was getting across.
"You know I can stay and help." Jamie offered, but Enix shook his head.
"I'm already keeping track of one * I can't be responsible for another." The taller man huffed.
After sending is compatriot the dirtiest glare he could. Leo turned to Jamie and took a breath. "I sort of agree with Enix, the toys are different then the bots, we can't have three people running around like their heads have been cut off." The older guard said, and Jamie sighed as they arrived at the door.
"Alright fine, but Enix, please make sure Leo doesn't end up with anymore broken bones." At that the tallest man mock saluted.
"Yessir."
"Stop it guys, we are literally on the clock right now!" Leo protested and pushed Jamie out the door. The waiter grunted but complied.
"Alright, I'll see you guys in the morning." He waved, and Enix waved back, Leo shut the door and locked it.
"We need to get to the office." He said, glancing between the door and the prize box.
"Alright, hop on." Leo turned to look at Enix as the man hunched over. The older guard sighed letting his shoulders drop.
"I hate you."
So! Something else about Leo has been revealed, this has been something I have been trying to subtly hint at for awhile. So I hope it didn't come out of nowhere! This will be something that is addressed. Leo is just...a very messed up guy tragically.
Now, in case it wasn't clear, this fic will also be addressing Anorexia. I just want to make it very clear that I do not approve of this. And if this is something that you are struggling with, please seek out some help whether it be family or friends. It is a very dangerous thing and should not be talked about lightly, I plan on treating it with the gravity it deserves, and I will do my best to be mindful of how it is dealt with.
Now, onto chapter questions. What did you think of the reveal? It certainly explains why Leo hasn't eaten. And his irritability, this will have something to do with his past, before he even became a drug dealer. There is a lot about Leo that he struggles with, (this is a angst if after all...)How do you think Enix and Jamie will deal with it? What about the animatronics?
I'd love to hear what you think!
(If you are interested in the sister location fic, it can be found on my profile!)
