Sorry for the 2 Day Delay everyone! Was busy re-editing all the chapters to my previous stories. I'm proud to announce I finished re-editing all of them! So without further delay here's the next chapter to "Iron Will." Enjoy :)
"Don't tell me what to do. I told you, I don't need to bathe." Frieza said with finality.
Rain wrinkled her nose in disgust.
"You've been here now for nearly four days. And within all that time you haven't showered, not once. And don't say you have, because you haven't. You reek like a road kill skunk that's been through a garbage disposal several times." She told him.
He snorts. "I don't know, that laundry of yours has been making me queasy every time I walk past it. Perhaps you should see to it. Also, I'm quite famished. Are you going to make something or just sit around complaining about my personal hygiene habits?"
As far as roommates go. Frieza has been the very definition of a shitty roommate. Always demanding things of her. Just like he'd done when they were back on his ship. Rain could barely get through a workout without him interrupting her. The other night, when Rain couldn't sleep she went downstairs to the large open space of a room underneath the penthouse. It's where she kept most of her workout equipment, including a punching bag.
She couldn't have been beating on the bag for more than ten minutes. When Mr. High and Mighty came stomping down and demand she'd stop all the racket. That she woke him up and to turn off that nauseating noise she had on. Though in truth, she didn't have the music all that high at all. He's also putting quite the hurting on her fridge. Rain doesn't know where in the hell he puts it all when he eats. All Rain knew is that when she woke up the next day and went into her fridge to pull out some left over Belgium Waffles. The ones she got a few days ago from a diner she frequented. They were all gone.
That was only the beginning. More food continued to go missing each time she went in there. When Rain confronted him about it, of course he lied through his teeth and told her he didn't know what she was talking about. It's ok, she got even with him yesterday. When Frieza wasn't looking, she put X-Lax in his drink. Which happened to be her pomegranate juice, that she told him to stay away from. The look on his face when he was hit with the first wave was priceless. He practically tripped over his three toed feet running for the bathroom.
This is where, Rain can say she was glad she has her own bathroom in her bedroom. Because something tells her she wouldn't want to go anywhere near the bathroom down the hall. He must've made a dash to the toilet about three times after that. Rain made the mistake of walking by it, and she practically gagged on the putrid smell. She actually had to keep a scented candle lit in the hall for the rest of the day. Still, in her mind. The asshole deserved it. And if he wants to continue being an unruly guest. Then she will have no problem, finding other means to get even with the tyrant.
But it was time to put her foot down. Frieza needed to know that he cannot continue to boss her around and treat her like shit. Rain already had enough to deal with. Like recovering from the recent trauma he put her through. Handling her PTSD from when she was held captive by the Taliban was hard to deal with as it was. But when his men abducted her. The way he treated her, nearly killed her, and almost raping her. Well, Rain is surprised to say the least, that she's not in the nut house due to everything she's been through.
Rain crossed her arms, thoroughly unamused.
"Excuse me? Is this your home or mine? Because I'm almost certain this is my place. So therefore; I'm not the goddamn maid. And I'm not telling you what to do. I'm stating a fact, and that is you stink to high hell. As for food, learn how to make your own meals from time to time. Because I'm not making them up for you every day. Maybe start making yourself useful and help out around the place once in a while. Instead of moping about the place with the whole 'woe is me' shit plastered all over your face." She snapped.
Frieza shot up from his seat and in her face.
"If it weren't for you and those infernal monkeys. I wouldn't have to put up with any of this to begin with. Shall we be reminded of how you single handedly robbed me of my power?" He snapped back.
"Need I remind 'you', that your the one who came here looking for a fight? Perhaps had 'you' not come here. Then 'you' wouldn't be in this situation." She emphasized back.
He clenched his fists, so badly wanting to strike her where she stands. But Frieza knew if he did. Then those saiyans would jump all over him if he did. And then they would shove him right back in that barren cell. It be best if he started to get on her good side, rather then continue to piss her off.
After all, Frieza told Rain he would make an effort. Or at least pretend he would. Until he finds a way at getting his power back. He's not blind. Frieza's certain that bag Vegeta's woman gave her had more of that ki suppressant in it. He also overheard the conversation Rain had on the phone with Bulma, when she thought he wasn't around.
She was stupid enough to mention it not being permanent and that Rain may have to give him another dose of that suppressant to keep him weak as a puppy. He also knew she kept the bag in her room somewhere. Now he needed to figure out how to get in there and get it. Once he got his hands on it, he would destroy each and everyone of the single rounds, filled with the suppressant.
Frieza sighs and pinches the bridge of his nose.
"Forgive me, your right. It's also because of you, that I'm not stuck in that wretched cell. I also told you I would make an effort to understand you and...humans better. So far, I have been doing quite poorly in those regards." He admitted.
Rain quirked a brow. "You think? Because I'm starting to think it was a mistake bringing you here. In fact, I think your just telling me what I want to hear. We both know you never had any intentions at all, at changing your ways in the past. This time would be no different."
"Then why did you even bother having them spare me in the first place?" He asked her.
That's one thing he still couldn't figure out. After all he did to her. Why stop his enemies from killing him? Did she pity him because of his current state? Or was there another reason behind it? As an ex-soldier and sniper, Frieza knew mercy was not exactly in her vocabulary. Was she possibly trying to make amends from all the people she killed in her lifetime?
She swallowed and looked away momentarily.
"I don't know. All I do know, is I'm tired of being surrounded by death. I thought I left all that behind me, when I was discharged from the army. Only to get caught up in some interstellar feud you have between Goku and Vegeta. I hate you for dragging me into this. But that doesn't mean I wish you dead." Rain confesses.
Frieza didn't say anything at first. Just stood there staring at her. Then after a moment that seemed like it could've lasted forever. He turned around and began walking away. Rain stood there, eyes wide.
"Where are you going?" She asked.
He sighs. "To take a shower." Frieza looks over his shoulder, back at Rain. "That's what you initially wanted me to do right?"
Afterwards, he proceeded down the hall towards the bathroom. She watched him the whole way. Until he disappeared behind a closed door. Rain let out a breath she didn't know she was holding. And plopped back down on the couch. She smoothed her hair back as she looked up to the ceiling. 'Maybe I am in way over my head. I'm still not sure why I went along with this, thinking it was a good idea.' Rain heard the sound of running water.
Well, at least he won't smell like a rotting corpse anymore. But how can she get through to him, so he won't go postal when his power comes back? Maybe she was wrong about him. Maybe there wasn't an ounce of humanity in him after all, like she initially thought. But she can't get his eyes out of her memory, from when Whis and Lord Beerus came for her. He was livid, that's a given. But the sadness and despair that was there, is a complete mystery to her. The terrorists that held her never displayed such emotion. Its as if they were incapable of doing so. All they knew was power and anger. Never fear or sadness.
Maybe this is also why she had Frieza spared. Rain knew if he wanted to be redeemed, then that would have to be his decision. She cannot change him. All she can do is try to push him in the right direction. The rest is up to him. She just hope he can turn a new leaf. Otherwise there was nothing stopping Goku and Vegeta from eradicating him.
The hot water was soothing. But despite his body being relaxed. His mind wouldn't stop going a mile a minute. If Frieza didn't know any better. He would've thought the suppressant was also addling his mind along with his body. Apart of him is wondering if he was better off being killed. Living without his power seems to be a worse punishment. Especially now since he was at the mercy of those monkeys and this woman. Though he will never admit it out loud. But he rather be stuck with her than one of his foes.
It was ironic, for a minute there he'd thought he'd never be able to see her again. Because when the destroyer gives warning, then you better take it. Lord Beerus has no problem with seeing a threat through if others defy his requests. Frieza learned that the hard way, when he foolishly challenged the Destroyer God when he was a youth. At the time, the over confident young emperor believed no one out there rivaled his power. Sure, his father warned him of Lord Beerus and that he should never be crossed.
But even Frieza didn't always take his father's word on everything. He just figured his fool of a father was using it as an excuse to keep his overly powerful son in line. No doubt, King Cold knew Frieza was to become even more powerful than himself one day. And Frieza proved it, ten times over. Cooler resented him, because of this fact. He may have been the eldest son. But he still could never match his younger brother in success or power. It's most likely why King Cold doted more on Frieza than Cooler.
It didn't come to his surprise, when he found out through other sources of his brother's demise. Personally, Frieza didn't care. He thought Cooler was just as bloated with self importance like their father. If anything, Frieza thought he got what was coming to him. Everyone Frieza knew, believed him to have a great upbringing under King Cold. But in truth, it was hell. The old bastard was rather controlling and some of his expectations from his sons were incredulous at best. Yeah, no doubt he hoped they were all rotting away in Hell.
Frieza wasn't sure how long he'd been in there at this point. Must've been a while though, because he was starting to feel a bit waterlogged. So he switched off the water and exited the tub. After drying himself off, he was about to drop the wet towel on the floor and walk out. But thought against it. If anything, it would just give the young woman outside something else to bitch at him about. Which was the last thing he needed right now. So he tossed it into the hamper by the door before leaving.
When he got to the living room, he found Rain on the couch. She was fast asleep. There were fairly dark circles under her eyes. Which meant she must've not been sleeping very well. It probably explains why she's been rather moody as of late. Frieza sat down on the recliner further down. He was hungry and wanted to eat. Yet, he wasn't so sure if he should wake her. His stomach growled in protest. So he got up and made a B-Line to the kitchen. He observed her the other day making something Rain called a 'sandwich'.
It seemed simple enough to put together. So Frieza figured he'd give it a shot. He got out the bread and sliced meat from the produce drawer in the fridge. The end results were a tad sloppy, but acceptable. He made a few of them for himself and brought the plate back to the living room. He sat the plate down on the coffee table. Then wolfed down just about all of them. When Frieza got to the last one, he stopped. He turned his gaze to the slumbering woman on the couch.
Frieza left the last sandwich on the plate. He slowly slid it down the small glass table to where she was laying. Afterwards he got up and cracked his neck to loosen himself up. He was itching for some training. Frieza figured it wouldn't hurt if he went down to the first level and used her punching bag. With that settled, he left the penthouse and walked down the steps to the workout room.
Looks like Frieza is making for quite the lousy roommate indeed. But in the end, Rain really knows how to stick it to him. Still, they are both questioning themselves on where they are suppose to go from here. It maybe something they can just learn from one another. Guess we'll see how all that works out in future chapters. Until Next Time ;)
