The next afternoon Lexi's Dr. Finally gave the ok to go see Delilah. She had passed the test given by the nurses. Standing up, walking around the bed and went to the bathroom. She even was able to get cleaned up and changed into some loose fitting sweats and one of Happy's SAMCRO T shirts.
Against nurses recommendation to use a wheel chair Lexi decided to slowly walk to see her daughter. Happy insisted to escort her with his arm wrapped around hers.
"Babe, I know your strong. You got nothing to prove. Let me help you." He told her.
"Ok ok. Well lets go. I dont want to wait anymore" she said
Lexi got to Delilahs room took a breath and opened the door.
She walked up to the incubator and a few tears fell. "Oh Happy, shes so beautiful."
"I know. She really is" he said
They spent over an hour with Delilah before Demetri's nurse found them and let Lexi know he was hungry.
Lexi kissed Happy and left. Happy decided to sit with Delilah a little longer. He took his phone out and called Opie to ask if Lyla could come up and sit with Lexi while he went home took a shower and changed his clothes. Of course Lyla agreed right away.
Happy walked back to Lexi's room and let Lexi know he was leaving for just a few.
Lexi smiled. "Happy, ill be fine. Im in a hospital. Im safe. Please go and eat some good food and even take a nap. Trust me it will be a while before we are able to once these guys come home" she said. "As a matter of fact. After you get cleaned up and rest will you grab me a strawberry shake, Double cheese burger and fries from Tara's Diner?" She asked
Happy leaned down and kissed her. "You got it babe"
He waited for Lyla to get there and left. He did what Lexi ordered and took a shower, got dressed and took a nap. He woke up and realized he slept through the alarm and it was already 5 o clock. "Oh fuck!" He thought.
He raced to Tara's Diner, got the food and rushed back to the hospital. He ran straight to Lexi's room
"Oh my god babe im so sorry I slept through the alarm." He said
Lexi laughed. "Good, you needed the sleep. Now take your son so I can eat." She said
Happy was relieved. He realized he was so stressed and wound up he had forgotten how laid back Lexi was. He needed to calm down and realize she is here, not going anywhere and not as fragile as he was treating her.
2 more days went by and Demetri was cleared to go home.
"I mean Im glad Demetri is cleared to go home but I just don't know if I can leave Delilah" Lexi told Tara. Tara had stopped to see Lexi while doing her rounds.
"She will be fine Lex. I promise. Besides you can come here anytime you want for how ever long you want. I know its easier said than done but look at it like this. You get some quality mommy and son time. Getting to know him and cuddle him. Delilah will be home before you know it." Tara told her smiling.
Lexi took a deep breath. "Your right. Ok well Im going to take Demetri and go spend time with Delilah before we go. Happy will be here in an hour.
Tara hugged Lexi and left to finish her rounds. "Oh Neeta gets to go home today too."
Lexi smiled picking up Demetri. "Oh that's great!"
Happy was leaving the club house after joining the guys for the meeting about who to hire to continue to build the other bike and auto shops since they had to kill the other contractor.
"Hey Hap, Lexi and Demetri come home today right?" Jax asked
"Yep." He said
"Thats great brother. Me and Tara are right down the road if you need anything" Jax said
"Thats brother. I gotta get to the hospital." Happy said as he left.
Bobby and Tigg walked up watching him leave.
"Poor bastard has no clue what hes in for" Tigg joked
"Ah he'll be alright" Bobby said
"Ya for now, cause theres one. But then the princess will come home and he's out numbered. That's when the fun starts" Tigg said
They chuckled
"Hey, havin kids aint all that bad." Jax said
"Hey! just because your crazy enough to keep poppin them out doesn't mean everyone up for the challenge." Tigg laughed
"Ya I bet Tara's got another bun in the oven right now" Bobby joked
"Grace ain't even walking yet. I think we are good with the 3 we got." Jax said
"For now. Give it another few months" Tigg said. They all laughed again.
Jax shook his head.
"Ah Jackie boy, ye all know that Doc has you wrapped around that pretty little figure. Always has. She will say baby and you will give in." Chibs chimed in.
"What the hell is this? Fuck with the president day!? Jax asked. "How about you all get to work" Jax said as he went into the office. All the guys laughing. Jax smiled though because they were right. He would never tell Tara he didn't want a baby. He would have 10 if she wanted. "Fuck" he said to himself at that thought.
Later that day Jax got home after meeting with the new contractor. Tara was cooking dinner still in her scrubs. Grace was on her back on the livingroom room floor chewing on a toy when she seen her dad. She threw the toy down and started squealing and smiling. Jax chucked picking her up.
"Hows my princess today?" He said. Like always she went straight for his beard.
He walked into the kitchen and gave Tara a kiss. Abel was at the table drawing and Thomas was under the table playing with cars.
"Hey babe, smells good."
"Mmm shake n bake pork chops and salad sounded good." Tara said
When they sat down to dinner. Tara nursed Grace while they ate.
"How would you feel about SAMCRO opening another bar?" Tara asked
Jax looked at her. "Well. I would say im pretty busy with the new shops getting built and opening up at the moment but Im not opposed to the idea. Why?"
"Me, Lyla, and Lexi were talking about it before all the craziness happened and dont get me wrong I love going to hang out at the club house but not every women who likes to go out and have fun wants to be a crow eater or old lady. Why not have there be another bar not on SAMCRO property?" She asked
Jax thought a moment and nodded. "Ok I see your point. Ill run it by the club see if someone would want to run it and..."
"Actually" Tara interuppted. "We, as in Lyla, Lexi and myself were thinking we would run it"
Jax smiled and chuckled. "You guys?"
"What? You don't think we could?" Tara asked almost offended.
"Naw I think you could do anything you wanted. I just think you don't realize how much actually goes into opening, and running a business."
"Well, its a good thing Im married to a man that runs a 100 of them." Tara smiled at him and winked.
"What ever you want darlin. I got your back." He said.
I little while later Lexi was sitting on the couch nursing Demetri. She was in heaven. Being home with her son. She felt her heart tug a little in her chest. She felt guilty for leaving Delilah. But she knew she had no choice. "We will go and see your sister first thing in the morning" Lexi whispered.
Happy watched Lexi from the other room. He knew she was heart broken. He was too. He wished he could do something to make her feel better.
"Hey, are you hungry?" He asked
"Oh my god yes! Im actually starving" she said smiling
"Want me to cook?" He asked
"No its been a long day. How about Taras Diner? I could go for a grilled chicken salad" she said
Happy walked over and kissed her. "As you wish babe, you sure you'll be ok?" He asked
Lexi looked at him. "Yes Happy Ill be fine the whole half hour it will take for you to be gone" she said jokingly.
He chucked. "Ok ok. Ill be right back. I got my cell" he said on his way out.
He made sure to send Jax a text letting him know he was leaving Lexi alone for a few. Just in case something seemed happened they would know she was alone. Happy was glad he lived so close to Jax and Tara.
He was only gone 15 minutes when he came in the door he seen Lexi fast asleep on the couch. Demetri was asleep in his bouncer. Lexi had her hand in his. He smiled. He figured he would let her sleep and put the food in the kitchen. He watched her and Demetri sleep for a while. He couldn't believe he was so close to loosing them. He didn't know what he would do. All he knew is he would make sure nothing like that would happen again. They were the reason he breathed.
2 weeks passed. Neeta was released to go back to work and she couldnt wait. She missed taking care of Abel, Thomas, and Grace. Of course she kept in touch and came to visit often. She didnt missed a beat. She walked in and was ready to start her duties.
"Oh Neeta, im so glad you are here!" Tara said.
"Me too. Here let me take the princess here so you can finish getting ready for work." Neeta said taking Grace from her arms.
Just then Lexi burst through the door. "Tara! Oh hey Neeta." She said excitedly.
"Lex, whats up?" Tara asked
"I just came back from seeing Delilah and my baby girl is coming home!" She said
Tara and Neeta both shrieked with delight.
"Thats great! When?" Tara asked
"He said he sees no reason she couldn't come home today!" Lexi said
"Oh thats just great Lexi" Neeta said
"I hope you know me and Lyla will be throwing the kids a welcome home party." Tara told her.
"Sounds amazing. Lets just do it in another week or so." Lexi said
"Yes of course. Well Im so happy for you Lex i really am. Im going to finish getting ready for work. Let me know if I can help with anything ok?" Tara told her.
"I will. Im going to the club house to find Happy." Lexi said
"You didnt tell Happy yet?" Tara asked
"I tried to call but he didn't answer. He wasn't at home so I figured Id stop here on the way I had to tell you." She explained
After another good bye Lexi left for the club.
Pulling up she couldn't contain her excitement. She seen Happy working on a pick up truck in the garage. All the guys helped run all the businesses. Still taking turns working at the garage.
Happy seen her walking up and hurried over to grab the car seat for her.
"Hey, what you doing here?" He said smiling at her. He leaned in and kissed his son on the head as well.
"Well I have some good news. Our princess gets released today" she said
Happy's eyes got wide and smiled. "Today? When?" He asked
"Actually I can pick her up in an hour" she said "its ok if you cant come with me I know you have work." She said pointing to the truck
He smirked. "Are you kidding? Fuck this truck. Im going to get my daughter, ill be right back. Im going to tell Jax" he said. He put Demetri still in the car seat on top of the picnic table and left to tell Jax.
Lexi was standing there when she heard.
"Damn baby, how about you bend over a little and show me that ass!"
Lexi cocked her eye brows and turned her head to see 2 guys standing there. They obviously weren't from around here and must be getting their car fixed.
Lexi rolled her eyes and went to tend to Demetri.
"Oh come on baby, don't leave me hanging" one of thr guys said as he started walking over to her.
"Look asshole if you value your life I would walk away now. Im not interested. As you can see I have a new baby and I know you can see my ring. Get the fuck away from me" she said
"I love that attitude. I bet your amazing in bed." The guys laughed. "Come on hot stuff" one the guys got even closer.
Lexi went to brace her self and get out her knife she kept in her purse when she seen Happy, Jax, Tigg, Chibs, Opie, and Bobby all walk past her and stop making a barrier between her and the men.
The guys stopped laughing instantly and their faces turned white. The first guy held up his hands. "Whoa guys, we dont want any trouble."
"Well you should have thought of that before harassing my old lady and my son" Happy said getting into the guys face.
The guy went to say something else when Happy waisted no time and punched him in the nose knocking him down to ground. The guys friend stepped back and bent down to tend to his friend.
Happy went forward and the guys friend fell back and tried to scurry away.
Jax and the other brothers laughed at his cowardness.
Happy stopped seeing the guys friend so frightened and decided he made his point. "Get the fuck out of here! Before I really hurt you!" Happy told them.
The guys both got up. The one guy holding his nose, blood still pouring. They both ran to their cars.
"Damn Hap, you about made them piss their selves." Tig joked.
"Their lucky thats all I did." Happy said walking over to Lexi.
Lexi smiled and kissed him. "My knight and shining armor." She said
"You know it" he responded. "Jax got my work covered. Lets go bring our daughter home."
Jax and the guys walked up. "Its awesome Delilahs coming home." Jax said. "Let us know if you guys need anything"
"We will. Thanks guys and thanks for the wall of protection." Lexi said
All the guys nodded.
"We take care of our own lass, now go bring home our newest SAMCRO princess." Chibs said
Happy and Lexi got to the hospital. Happy carried in Demetri and Lexi carried in the other car seat for Delilah. They walked in anxiously to her room. The discharge nurse and doctor already in there getting her ready.
After going over all the discharge information with the nurse and Dr Lexi and Happy were finally ready.
Lexi picked up Delilah and strapped her in. Happy leaned inside.
"We're bustin you out kid. Lets go home"
Lexi chucked. "You guys will learn your dad is silly"
Soon they were ready to go home. Their family officially whole. They were ready for the next chapter in their lives.
