Bonus Chapter 2: Revenge

Hiromi couldn't believe what he had heard his friend say. Killing another human, that sounded completely absurd to him. "Kenya, you can't be serious.". "I am serious. If Satoru saw me right now, he'd be telling me to kill Yashiro. I mean, there are no murders that Yashiro could be accused of. I mean sure, he could still be charged for kidnapping…", Hiromi cut him off. "Kenya, I feel just as bad as you for letting Satoru go alone; however, you should know that I won't help you kill another man.". "I knew you wouldn't help with that, you're just too nice.", Kenya realized. He paused for a brief moment and continued, "Instead, I want you to get more people to believe us. Will you help me?". "Of course.", Hiromi responded.

He waited a brief moment and began to talk again, "Thing is, there are obviously a few flaws. Firstly, what if Gaku Yashiro really isn't a killer? What will happen to us?". Kenya looked down and started to think. After a few seconds, he replied. "It's a risk Hiromi, I can't guarantee anything. However, I pledged my loyalty to Satoru as a warrior of justice, and in my heart, I believe that he was right.". Hiromi looked hesitant, Kenya knew he was already questioning his intentions. Hiromi also had another question, "How are you gonna kill him? He's in a hospital with doctors and nurses working around the clock. You can't just stab him and get away.". Kenya lightly chuckled and responded, "Of course I can't. You know what they won't find evidence for? Who had poisoned his IV fluid.". "That's really smart, I would've never thought of that.", Hiromi assured. "I try.", Kenya lightly chuckled. "Tell you what. I'm planning to carry out my plan tomorrow night. If Satoru wakes up beforehand, I won't do it. If not, the plan will be carried out as needed.". "Sounds good, I'm all on board.", Hiromi informed. "Excellent. Let's do this.", Kenya concluded.

School went quickly for the boys as it usually does. Getting people to advocate for their cause would start that afternoon in the hideout. It was the first day in the hideout without Satoru. Everything felt awkward and quiet. Kayo didn't even bother to show up, and no one could've blamed her. Kenya leaned up on the back wall while Kazu and Aya leaned on the right wall. Hiromi and Osamu sat on chairs facing the middle table.

"Guys, I've got something important to tell you all.", Kenya remarked out of nowhere. "If it's about Yashiro and the crash, I'll leave you be.", Aya insisted. "You can stay if you want, it's not that secret.", Kazu suggested. "No, it's fine.". Aya walked out of the hideout and waited outside. "Was it something I said?", Kazu asked the group. No one responded.

"Okay, now I can begin. I have a theory, one that most of you will doubt. I remember Satoru telling us that there was a killer in this town, that said killer stored supplies on the bus where we 'kidnapped' Kayo. Little did we know, that murderer was right there almost every day as we watched him teach us.". Kenya was interrupted by Kazu. "Wait, you can't…". "That's right. I believe that Gaku Yashiro tried to kill Satoru Fujinuma that night. What else could have happened.". Everyone was in shock, even Hiromi, who had already heard all of this that morning. "You can't be serious, they had such a good relationship. Plus, Yashiro was so nice to all of us, especially Satoru.". Osamu tried his best to deny the truth, he didn't want to believe it. "I thought the same thing. Osamu, just look at the police report.". Kenya pulled out a piece of paper filled with writing.

"This is the police report, I took everything I could find and wrote it down myself. As you can see, Satoru and Yashiro crashed in the middle of nowhere, 1 kilometer away from Rascal's Campsite. Why else would they be in such a remote area? Furthermore, Yashiro had bruises on him, suggesting that Satoru was hitting him to intentionally crash the car. Also, there was one other thing I learned this afternoon. Yashiro had a whole heap of candy in his car, which can only mean one thing.". Kenya paused before continuing. "Yashiro is the murderer, it's all too obvious. Satoru was right, I didn't believe him and we paid.". "Kenya, what can we do to help?", "Yeah I want to help.", Osamu asked followed by Kazu. "Thank you for asking, but there's really not much you can do. Rather, if the opportunity comes up, let people know about the truth. That will be plenty.". "Alright!", Kazu and Osamu exclaimed in unison. Kenya didn't want to tell them about his plan and what he was gonna do tonight. "I'm gonna go check on Aya, I'll be right back.", Kazu informed everyone.

The group didn't stay at the hideout for long. They went home relatively early, only because of Kenya's plan. That night at 8:00 p.m, Kenya snuck out of the house to finally end it. He was dressed in black, with the poison needle in a little pouch. It had a variety of things, most were just things that your mom would tell you not to ever eat. Still, it would kill Yashiro in fifteen minutes tops, or so Kenya thought. He planned to sneak into a room to skip check-in and then proceed up to the second floor to get to Yashiro's room. Before he jumped into the window, he hears a voice. "Hey Kenya, over here.".

It sounded like Hiromi's voice, the small person in black emerged from a bush. "You need some help, it's dangerous to go alone.". "That was a Zelda reference wasn't it?", Kenya chuckled. Hiromi shook his head. "Hiromi, you know this is dangerous right?", Kenya queried. "Of course, I changed my mind. You think too highly of yourself sometimes. You can't do everything alone.". "That's true. Now, here's the plan."

Kenya explained the plan and the two started it shortly after. Everything went surprisingly smoothly as the two made it to the second floor. When Kenya passed Satoru's room, he stopped for a second and stared into it. "Hiromi look.". Hiromi came over to the window. "Remember, this is for the boy who lies in that room. We are finishing Satoru's job.". Hiromi and Kenya looked at each other and nodded, and the two proceeded to Yashiro's room. Kenya slowly opened the door with the poison needle ready. As he approached the bed, he quietly yelled, "Yashiro, it's over, we wo…". Kenya stopped talking, the needle falling out of his hand. Hiromi came in, "Kenya, what happened?". "He...he...he's…gone.", Kenya answered. Kenya was furious, Yashiro had escaped. Did he know about their plan? "Hey, is someone there?", a man asked. "Oh crap. Hiromi, Run!", Kenya commanded. Kenya jumped out of the window and Hiromi was hesitant. "Hiromi, you have to jump! I'll catch you!". "No, I can do it.". A hesitant Hiromi jumped out of the window, and the two ran away from the hospital. Their attempt had failed. Yashiro was gone.

Kenya and Hiromi walked back to their homes, disappointed. "Kenya, what happens now?". Hiromi's voice was shaking. "I don't know. We have to wait for Satoru now. We did all that we could.", Kenya replied. "Is that it? Has Yashiro really escaped?", Hiromi asked. "For now, yes. As I said before, it's Satoru's story, not ours. Try your best not to think about it. Let's carry on as usual. It'll be ok Hiromi. Believe in Satoru, he'll wake up soon. I know it.". "Thank you Kenya, I will.". "Of course.", Kenya concluded.

And so, the next four days went on like normal. However, the day after that would turn out to be a miracle.

So yeah, this is what happened in between the car crash and Satoru waking up. I have one more chapter coming up which will definitively finish the story. I know it was all fillers, but hey the interactions were cool right?
