A/N: I'm trying to be back at writing again. Here's some Royality because they are literally the cutest ship ever to me, and I realized they are one of the ones I haven't done two one-shots for yet. I'll Love You No Matter What-Royality.
Patton looks over at Roman with concern in his eyes, the other not looking at him.
Roman told Patton he wanted to take him on a date, but so far, all that happened was Patton worrying for his boyfriend.
"Ro? Are you ok, is something wrong?" Patton squeezes the other's hand, causing the Prince to look over at him.
"I'm fine, love. Just...lost in my thoughts again." Roman chuckles, but Patton can tell it's forced.
"Roman...is it about what happened in the last episode? What Janus said-"
"He's right, Patton. That's my problem. He was right. I made fun of him when he was trying to open up. I don't know how you can still be with me after that." Roman's eyes are filled with tears as he uses a forced smile toward Patton.
"Oh, Roman. Yes, it was wrong of you to make fun of Janus, but I know you...you were making fun of Janus to hurt him because you were hurt. I don't condone meanness, but I also understand it too. I love you, Roman. And that won't change because of what happened." Patton tries to be reassuring yet somewhat stern at the same time.
"I don't want to doubt you, dearest. But how can you love me after what I did? It wasn't moral at all, and it wasn't right-"
"I love you because you're you, Roman. You don't need to worry so much about the morals of what is said or isn't said. I can take care of that; it is my job as Morality. It wasn't right, that's true, but I know you know that because you wouldn't be standing here telling me it was wrong if you didn't." Patton's crying now, he hates it, but it's happening.
"Sometimes, Patton...I won't be able to realize that you love me. Please...be patient with me while I figure it out every day. It may take me a while, but I will figure it out as long as you're here for me to help." Roman places his hands on the other's cheeks, wiping away the tears with his thumbs.
Patton laughs a little, placing his hands on top of Roman's own.
"I will love you no matter what, Roman. I can promise you that, and you know that when I make promises, I don't break them." Patton smiles back and touches his lips to Roman's to seal the promise.
There may be times when Roman won't realize he loves Patton, but Patton will always be there to let Roman know he loves him and always will no matter what happens in their lives.
