Now that Locore has taken over, the rangers are going to have a real challenge. Their zords have already been demolished thanks to Nebulos, Locore's own monster. Their usual powers aren't enough. So Zultro is sending the rangers to a place where they can find the power that will help them against Locore. That's assuming they find it and survive. The rangers were teleported over to a field of the ocean and rocks.

"Where are we?" Joey asked.

"I guess this the place Zultro was talking about." Abby said.

"Too bad we're not here for some fun in the sun." Robby said. The rangers looked around and there didn't appear to be anything around. The place was actually giving them the creeps.

"Come on, guys. The sooner we find this power, the better." Travis said. They all felt the same about that and got moving.

"Wait. Where do we even go?" Valerie asked.

"We should have asked Zultro for a map or something. What are we even looking for?" Joey asked.

"I guess we'll know it when we see it." Travis said. So the rangers began searching for the power, but it would appear that something has already found them. Actually, two somethings, one being a group of creatures and another being someone in a cloak.

...

Locore's Palace

Now that Locore has taken Scarlie's place, her palace on the moon has become his palace. Even though Nebulos defeated the rangers, they still managed to escape and Locore wants to ensure their destruction.

"Where are those rangers? Where did they retreat to?" Locore said.

"I swear that we don't know." Vyla said.

"We never found the location of their base. They could have gone anywhere." Zabaro said.

"What good are the two of you?" Dragight said. "Anyway, what does it matter where they ran off to? Their zords are greatly damaged. They didn't stand a chance against Nebulos. Without their zords, there's nothing they can do to stop you."

"True." Locore said. "Besides, there's no need to waste my energy searching for them. If these rangers are what you claim they are, they'll come to me. I have no doubt that they will continue to fight until they take their last breath."

"So what will you do until then?" Zabaro said.

"Simple. I'll destroy their precious city. That is sure to get them to come out of hiding and when they do, they will meet their end." Locore said. Locore is not playing around.

...

The Rangers

The rangers searched around for this power, but it didn't look like there was anything unusual. They might in for a long search and that's just something they can't afford at the moment.

"Travis, I need to talk to you for a second." Sierra said as they hang back as the others went ahead.

"What's up?" Travis asked.

"Do you really think we can take on this Locore?" Sierra said. "From what I've seen so far, he doesn't even respect his own daughter. He sounds really evil and his monster crushed our zords."

"Don't worry. He might be stronger than Scarlie, but we'll beat him like we did with her." Travis said. Sierra could see he was right. They've come this far. It's just another enemy. They were about to keep going, but Travis spotted something. "Get down!" He pulled her down as some sort of black bird-man-creature flew past them. "What was that?"

"Look!" David said as he pointed up. They saw a whole flock of them. The bird creatures flew down and came at the rangers. All of them moved out of the way as those birds flew around. "What are those things?"

"They might be the reason no one returns from searching that power." Valerie said. "They appear to be rapture-hybrids of great predatory behavior."

"In English." David said.

"Very unfriendly birds." Valerie said. The birds attacked the rangers as they landed down, but they tried to fight back. One came at Travis and Sierra, but they both kicked it back.

"Back off!" Abby said as she kicked one back. The rangers tried to fight back the birds, but they proved to be tough creatures. One flew at Robby, but he rolled under it and kicked it into a rock.

"We need to morph!" Robby said as he reached for his morpher and tried to do that, but nothing was working.

"Did you forget?" David said. "Zultro said we can't morph while we're here."

"Oh yeah." Robby said as he felt dumb. Then, the birds tackled him and David. The rangers were doing their best to fight them off, but it was difficult without their ability to morph. As Sierra was fighting one off, another was flying behind her.

"Sierra, behind you!" Travis called, but it was too late as it grabbed Sierra with its feet and carried her off. "Hang on, Sierra!" He tried to help her, but another bird tackled him.

"They're too strong!" Abby called as she was getting pushed around.

"We need the power!" Joey said as he couldn't break free from one. It wasn't looking good for the rangers.

"Somebody help me!" Sierra said as she tried to get free from the bird and her cries were answered. Someone in a cloak jumped off from the rocks and smashed a staff against the bird. It saved Sierra and she landed on the ground. She looked to her savior and saw the hood of the cloak removed to see a young male warrior with a staff. Some of the birds tried attacking him, but he was more than capable of fighting off the birds with his staff. It was impressive when the rangers couldn't. The man held up his staff and twirled it around with it creating a whistling sound that drove the birds crazy and it caused them to fly off.

"Wow." Travis said as the rangers were impressed that he was able to fend off those creatures. All of them regrouped and were faced with the warrior.

"That was amazing. Thanks." David said as he walked over and held out his hand, but the warrior struck him with his staff.

"If you wish to express gratitude for saving your lives, go back to wherever you came from." The warrior said.

"We can't do that." Robby said.

"We heard there was a power here that could help us." Joey said.

"Yes. All those who have tried to obtain that power have failed." The warrior said. "Trying to obtain that power is foolish."

"Well, we're different. We won't fail." Travis said as he walked to him, but the warrior struck Travis' legs with his staff and caused him to fall on his back with the warrior holding him down.

"Leave this place while you still can." The warrior said.

"Look, we don't want any trouble." Abby said. "Zultro said we had to do this."

"Zultro?!" The warrior said as he released Travis. "Did you say Zultro?"

"You know him? Who are you anyway?" Sierra asked.

"I am Oberous. I am the guardian of the power you seek. I aided Zultro in the sealing of the witch known as Scarlie. What is happening that Zultro would send you here?"

"He sent us to find this power so we could take on this creep named Locore." David said.

"Locore?! Locore is here?!" Oberous said as he did not like the sound of that.

"You've heard of him?" Valerie asked.

"Locore is a monster that will do anything and destroy everything to get what he wants." Oberous said. "If what you're saying is true, we must hurry. Follow me." Oberous led the way for the rangers. This is the only clue they have to the power. So they went with him.

The Command Center

"Zultro, I'm worried about the rangers." Gamma said. "What if they really can't find a way back? What if we might never see them again?"

"Have faith, Gamma." Zultro said. "The rangers have pulled through before. I'm sure that they will this time. I'm sure they will find their way back as soon as they get their hands on the power."

"But they won't have the ability to morph. What if they run into trouble when they really need it?" Gamma questioned.

"Gamma..." Zultro said as he was trying to tell him to be quiet and trust the rangers.

"I know. I'm just worried about them. That's all." Gamma said.

"As am I, but we've done all that we can. It's in their hands." Zultro said. Zultro was right. All they can do is wait until the rangers return. While this was going on, Nebulos appeared in Angel Grove and became a giant again. He attacked the city and it was left defenseless without the rangers. The alarm went off and the two of them viewed what was happening.

"Oh no! Not now!" Gamma said.

"I was afraid of this." Zultro said.

"What are we going to do?" Gamma said.

"I hate to say it, but I'm afraid there's nothing we can do." Zultro said. "All we can do is wait until the rangers can make it back." Zultro wished it didn't have to be like this, but he believes in his rangers. Even if he does, it will be tough watching Angel Grove being destroyed by the monster. "Hurry, rangers."

...

The Rangers

Oberous continued to lead the rangers through this strange place. They moved further away from the ocean and made their way up a mountain. With nowhere else to go, the rangers have to put their trust in Oberous to get the power.

"Oberous, where are we heading?" David asked.

"You will see. We shall arrive soon." Oberous said.

"We better hurry. I have a feeling Locore isn't going to wait around for us." Sierra said. She was right. Nebulos is attacking now and they have to get that power fast. Oberous continued to lead them through the rocky terrain until they arrived at the destination. As soon as they arrived, the rangers were amazed with what they saw. It looked like the ruins of some sort of shrine.

"What is this place?" Travis asked.

"This looks like it would be a great set for a movie." Robby said.

"This is sacred ground to brave warriors." Oberous said as he stood in front of a gateway. "Behold." He pointed the way beyond the gateway. They looked and saw a view of a jungle with a spire out in the distance. "At the base of that spire lies the power you seek. Many have tried to acquire this power, but all those who have went have met their demise and perished."

"Is there anything you can do to help us?" Travis asked. Oberous didn't wish to send them to their doom, but he also knows Locore must be stopped. So he's decided that if Zultro has put their faith in the rangers, he will too.

"I must make preparations." Oberous said. He had something that might help them out and they're going to need all the help they can get.

...

Angel Grove

Angel Grove was at the mercy of Nebulos and he had none. Nebulos was a giant once more and was causing havoc through the entire city. Without the rangers to stand in his way, Nebulos was free to destroy the city. As he caused destruction through the whole place, Locore and his minions watched from the top of the buildings.

"Where are they?" Zabaro said as he voiced what they were all thinking. "I would have assumed the rangers would have appeared by now."

"So would I? What's going on?" Vyla said.

"Maybe they realized that they were horribly outmatched." Dragight said.

"Not their style." Zabaro said. "If the rangers aren't here yet, that must mean they're working on some plan to defeat Nebulos."

"What could they possible do?" Dragight questioned. "Their zords were crushed and they can't fight him when he's a giant without it. Master Locore, let us begin the conquest of this world at once."

"Not yet." Locore said. "The rangers represent hope to this world. We must crush that hope. They'll show up eventually and they will be destroyed." Locore is aware the rangers will return. They have to if they want to save the city. Only he believes that they'll be crushed in the end.

The Rangers

Oberous started a fire with the rangers standing before him. He scooped some powder in his hand and stood before the rangers. He had something that might help the rangers and was about to bestow it upon them.

"Very deep inside each of us is the spirit of an animal, our own inner animal." Oberous said. "Close your eyes and look deep inside yourselves." The rangers closed their eyes and looked inside of who they were. Oberous blew the powder into the fire and the flames grew larger. The flames split and went over to each of the rangers as it coiled around their necks and formed something around each of them. The flames turned into gold medals and had an animal engraved on each one of them. The rangers were amazed with they had. Oberous walked to each of the rangers to share their animals, their great strengths. "Robby, you are the lion. Loyal and noble."

"I always thought I was of royalty." Robby said. He might be obnoxious as well, but is both of those as well. Oberous just moved on to the next.

"Sierra, you are the swan. Graceful and pure of heart." Oberous said and Sierra loved that since she always helps others. "David, you are the shark. Fierce and determined." David was when it came to his friends. "Valerie, you are the owl. Wise and insightful." She was the smart one of the group. He went to Joey, but saw he wasn't happy with his animal. "Joey? What's wrong?"

"I'm a monkey." Joey said. That wasn't what he expected, but Oberous thought that was nothing to be ashamed of.

"Yes, a monkey. Funny, but also kind hearted, a good friend." Oberous said and that made Joey feel better because he was all that. "Abby, you are the jaguar. Dedicated and strong willed." Being an athlete, Abby never did give up easily. "And Travis, you are the eagle. Mighty, powerful, all the qualities of a great leader."

"Thank you." Travis said.

"Your animal spirits will guide you on your journey. May they protect you." Oberous said as he walked to the gate. "I'm afraid this is all I can really do for you. You'll have to travel the rest of the way on your own."

"You're not coming with us, Oberous?" Abby asked.

"I am forbidden to step beyond this point." Oberous said. "There is still great danger ahead, but your spirit animals will guide you."

"Thank you for everything." Travis said. "We won't let you down." The rangers were grateful for Oberous' help. Now they travel the rest of the way on their own as they passed through the gate.

"Good luck, rangers." Oberous said as he wished them well. Now that they know where the power is, they just need to get it. They better hurry to save Angel Grove.
