Ch11

The sadness inside of him was unbearable as he looked over the dead body of his son. He felt tears fall onto his body while his beloved wife wept profusely. He felt anger boil in him at one man, Moses. The name of his former friend brought feelings of anger and hatred in his head. This was all his fault; it was his fault for sending these plagues that afflicted him and his people. It was his fault that his son, the pride and joy of his life was taken from him.

He gripped the side of the bed where his son lay angrily as he thought of the man he once considered his best friend. He had done everything to try and repair their relationship but at each turn Moses always rebuffed his offers and demanded that his people go. For all of their friendship that they had together Moses had repaid it all with treachery. He nearly would have wiped out his people had it not been for him and the Gods of Egypt. Moses had sent plagues and pestilence in return for all of their time together. But this, this was the last straw.

"Ozymandias," said a soft voice that now made his voice boil with anger. He turned and glared at Moses who stood in the doorway. He was dressed in the garb of his people and his usual eyes despite their defiance had a sadness to them.

"Get out," he said to Moses in a low cold tone.

"I'm sorry," Moses said softly. "I know how much he meant to you."

"Take your people and get out of my land," He snarled at him. Moses seemed to recoil at his words, he had never been this harsh with him before. "I never want to see you again, take you people and get out of Egypt," he said he swore a saw a sadness in Moses's eyes as he turned around.

"As you wish pharaoh," was all Moses said as he turned and left. He felt more tears fall from his face. He had not only lost his best friend but also his son.

He mourned in silence as Moses took his people and left. Everyone in his court knew not to mention his name in his presence. He did his duties as pharaoh and then joined his wife for mourning. His advisers knew not to disturb him and he tried his best not to take his anger out on them.

"S-Sir, Moses and the Israelites are heading out of the land," an Adviser said in a timid tone. He turned around and the adviser fell to his knees and begged for forgiveness.

He took a deep breath and thanked him before returning to his wife. He wrapped his arm around her and tried to comfort her and for a bit he felt a new emotion in his body. No longer was it sadness or numbness, but anger. He would fix everything; he would have vengeance and show the world that no one can just mess with the Pharaoh or Egypt.

So he prepared his armies and ordered that they be ready to leave as soon as possible. He said good bye to his beloved wife before he left. She only gave him a nod as he left the room and got on his armor.

Anger boiled in his heart as he rode his horse. Anger and vengeance were the only things on his mind. He hardly paid attention to the road or the trip. His mind was only focused on one thing, vengeance.

It didn't take long until he found Moses and the Israelites on the shore of the Red Sea. A scout came back to him and told him of their location. A savage grin spread across his face as he got up and saddled his horse. He led his men to their encampment and surrounded the Israelites sot that they could not escape.

He looked at the encampment from his horse, the sight of the Israelites made his blood boil, but he could not find Moses anywhere. He ordered his men to sound the war horns and he watched as the Israelites noticed their presence and began to panic.

He then let out a laugh as he saw them panic and it was then that he saw Moses near the edge of the Red Sea. The two stared at each other. Moses's eyes had a sorrow to them and for a moment he wanted to make up with his friend as a pang of sadness entered his heart. However, Moses turned around and held up his wooden staff and hit the edge of the water.

His covered his eyes as a bright light appeared in front of him. He had never seen a light that bright before and its radiance was like nothing he had seen before in his life. When he opened his eyes again, he saw the Israelites passing through the water on dry ground. Many of his men whispered and were in shock and awe at what they saw.

He himself was at a loss of words as he watched the slowly cross the dry ground. At first there was confusion and debate among his men and for a while he too was at a loss. He did not know what to do as he watched the Israelites pass to the other side and out of Egypt.

"Sir what are your orders," one of his commanders asked.

However, he just stared at the ground and looked to the other side. He saw Moses and their eyes met, this time his eyes were sad yet they seemed to be begging him not to follow. It was as if they were saying goodbye.

He felt a lump in his chest as he closed his eyes and forced away the tears. It was as if the anger in his heart had dissipated.

"Sir your orders," the commander said once again

He sighed as he turned his horse around. "We leave immediately," he would not risk his men. Moses had chosen his path and he himself was already on his. Yet despite all of the things that had happened between them, he still loved and cared about him deeply. Yet he knew that their time together was done. No other man can compare to Moses, he will always be his highly esteemed friend.

Waver rubbed his eyes as he woke up in his room. After everything that happened between them Rider still cares about Moses he thought as he looked up at the ceiling of his room. Since their time together he had only heard Rider speak highly of two people, his wife Nefertari and Moses. He let out a yawn as he decided to get up and get ready for the day.

He still felt a little drained from everything that had been happening lately. From the death of his teacher to the recent fight and subsequent confrontation with Tokiomi Tohsaka. He gripped his fists as he thought of that man and the things he said about him. The thought of that man still made his blood boil; however, despite everything he knew that in a way Tokiomi was right deep down but he would never admit it. But still I will prove that I can be a good mage he thought as he got dressed. I have made it this far; I will not lose or give up now.

After he got ready he went and visited Rider in his pyramid. He found Rider sitting on his throne flipping through a magazine with a bored stare. When Rider saw him he looked up from the magazine and gave him a cocky smile, "Good morning boy are you ready for another day of service in the name of your sovereign?"

Waver sighed but smiled at his servant, he was used to his servant's personality and he didn't mind since he was strong. "Good morning Rider, did you want to do anything special today?"

Rider looked at him with his bright gold eyes almost as if he were thinking of something. He then let out another one of his loud laughs. "Everyday for a pharaoh is a special day. A pharaoh's work is never done. However, today I wish to explore more of the delicacies of this world that I will eventually rule. You are to take me around to one of those malls I hear about."

He was a little taken aback by the request. Rider usually just preferred strolling in his airship all day drinking or throwing parties in the pyramid. He nodded and smiled at his servant, "Sure no problem Rider." Rider smiled at him and laughed and got off of his throne.

After Rider changed into his casual outfit Waver took him to the mall. Its so strange seeing him act so casual he thought as he looked at Rider look as some designer clothes. Rider himself was wearing a black shirt and pants along with a pair of sunglasses and a golden necklace, but other than that most people would assume that he is just a normal tourist the way he looked.

"Boy look at these glasses, my beloved wife would love these," Rider said as he picked up a pair of sunglasses for women.

"Yeah, they match yours well," he said with a smile.

Rider nodded, "Of course, back in the day me and my beloved wife would often try to wear matching outfits."

"Well I bet you both looked cute in them," he said with a small laugh. Rider laughed and the two continued their day shopping. Rider bought various clothes and other random objects that peeked in his interest. Waver himself actually enjoyed the day, he never thought that he would have such fun with Rider. He is actually a cool guy once you get past his ego he thought to himself as he and Rider ate some ice cream together. Rider really enjoyed his ice cream and Waver actually enjoyed the day in general even though he later had to help Rider carry his stuff.

By the time they returned home it was already the late afternoon. "Today was good boy, I will enjoy greatly ruling this world," Rider said with a laugh.

"I'm glad you enjoyed it," he responded with a sigh. "Hey Rider can I ask you something?"

"Of course boy ask me what is on your mind," Rider said.

Waver looked to the ground as he took a deep breath, "Why have you kept me around for so long? I mean, you could probably have already one the war if you had a more competent master," he said avoiding his servants gaze. He felt as if a dam had broken inside of him as he said that. As if all of the feelings of self-loathing and pity had released themselves into him.

Rider let out a laugh, "I kept you around because I see the value in you. It is true that your mana is not sufficient to supply me but that is not the case. I as a great pharaoh am more than able to supply myself and manage my energy. As a pharaoh I see your worth, you are probably one of the best tacticians I have seen in ages."

Waver felt a tear fall down his face. He sees value in me? How could anyone see me as being worth anything?

"Personally I could not have asked for a better subject than you boy. I could not have stand to be with such unfilial men such as that lord Kayneth or Tohsaka. Men like them show no respect for the old ways and think themselves superior to others. I am a pharaoh and all are equal to me despite their lineage," Rider said. "Boy come closer I want to see your eyes."

"Wh-What?" He asked taken off guard by the question.

"I want to see your eyes," Rider said again as he moved closer. He hardly had time to clean his eyes as Rider lifted up his chin and stared into his eyes. His bright golden eyes seemed to peer into him and he couldn't help but feel a bit intimidated despite there not being any malice or anger in Rider's eyes.

"You do not possess the disposition of a ruler. However, you do bear something. Perhaps it is the same quality as my former brother. No that is unlikely. Regardless, you have piqued my interest," Rider said as he held his face firmly in his hand.

Waver gulped as he felt Rider examine him, he felt his body rush with excitement as Rider examined him over like a specimen in a laboratory. He felt as if he could get lost in Rider's bright golden eyes that seemed to peer into his soul.

"You may not be of royalty, but you have definitely proven your worth to me and for that I am grateful. You are by far one of the greatest advisers I have had I a while and do not forget that. For my praise is worth more than that of lowly mages," Rider said in a firm voice. Waver did a small nod as he felt Rider loosen his grip a bit. "Think more highly of yourself boy for you are more valuable than you realize and to me are more valuable than those insects who self-proclaim themselves as great," he said as he patted his shoulders.

Waver nodded and did his best not to show his emotions to him. He smiled at his servant, "Thanks Rider, your words mean a lot." He sees value in me of all people? He thought incredulously as he felt a few tears fall down his cheeks. The thought nearly made his chest swell with joy, he felt as if his spirits were being uplifted by an invisible force as he followed Rider back to the pyramid.

The rest of the day was unusually quiet. Gilgamesh did not join them for another feast which he actually missed, even though the golden archer was an enemy he was pretty fun to be with if he was in a good mood. So he just ended up staying the rest of the day with Rider in his pyramid. He took a nice bath with him and listened to his stories about Egypt while they ate dinner.

They ended the night with a cruise through the night on Rider's ship. The night was pleasant and he enjoyed the cool breeze of the night sky as they flew through the sky. However, during their ride Waver noticed something, at first he thought it was a car but then realized it is a motorcycle. As it came into view he noticed the rider and his eyes widened Crap its Saber he thought as he turned around. "Rider Saber is coming after on a motorcycle," he yelled pointing to Saber.

Rider stood up and looked at Saber and let out a laugh, "So Saber has finally come to face me. Very well lets give her a good match," he said as with a laugh. He summoned his staff and Waver felt the ship's speed increase.

As Saber's speed increased Rider fired off a few beams of energy at Saber. However, Saber easily avoided them and managed to leap over any obstacles Rider made for her. "Her command of that vehicle is amazing," Rider noted. "Boy I have decided it, I want one of those vehicles when this is over. Nefertari would love to ride with me on one of those. We would both looking amazing on one of them."

"Rider now is not the time she is gaining on us," Waver said as he watched Saber. Her face was full of determination and anger. "We should go back to your pyramid she will be weaker there."

Rider laughed, "I am a pharaoh boy I do not flee before my enemies. Besides the pyramid is not necessary I am more than capable of taking her on," he said with a laugh as he fired another blast at Saber who managed to dodge it.

"Fine but hurry up she is gaining speed," Waver said. Rider nodded and laughed as the speed of the boat increased.

"She really is the king of knights," Rider said with a laugh as he watched Saber's speed increase.

Waver watched as Saber's speed increased; however, his eyes widened in shock as the motorcycle jumped and lunged at their ship and slashed at Rider with her invisible sword. He jumped back in surprise as he saw Rider parry the attack with his staff. Saber then jumped off and landed on the ground in front of the ship.

"Well done Saber, you have provided me with good entertainment tonight," Rider said as he got off his ship. Waver got off and stood behind Rider as they eyed Saber. She was looking at them as if figuring out what do to next. Saber watched them, her invisible sword in hand and took a stance and she looked as if she were thinking of something important while analyzing the situation.

"Rider, are you going to attack at this distance?" He asked nervously they were a bit too close for comfort to Saber, any closer and Rider would have to rely on physical combat instead of his ship.

"Do not worry, her holy sword needs time to activate it will not be an issue," Rider said in a confident tone. "I will finish her off before she can activate it."

He sighed as he stared at Saber and back at Rider. "Fine, but this is a really risky thing we are going to do."

Rider let out a laugh, "I am a pharaoh, the representative of the Gods on earth. I have taken risks every day of my reign."

"Fine Rider win this fight to show her your glory," he said with a huff.

"I see you have finally learned what it means to serve a pharaoh boy," Rider said with a laugh as he patted his head. Waver smiled at him as Rider lifted his staff. Rider's ship lit up with a bright energy as Saber's sword charged with energy.

"Excalibur," Saber roared as the two lights collided. There was a large bang as the two attacks it. Waver felt himself get thrown back in a cloud of dust. He felt someone grab hold of him and when he finally opened his eyes he saw that Rider was holding him on one hand and holding onto a tree branch with another.

"Looks like I should have listened to your words boy. My calculations were off," Rider said with a sigh. Waver looked at Saber who was still armored and had her sword drawn; her eyes were peering at them.

"Rider uses your noble phantasm," he said urgently.

However, Rider shook his head, "My mesktet is all that I am willing to lose against Saber. My noble phantasm is something that will be needed later."

Waver sighed but Saber stared at them in shock and disbelief.

"Those motorcycles are something else boy. I definitely want one," Rider said with a laugh.

"Really? We just lost your ship and all you can say is that you want a bike?" He asked incredulously.

Rider laughed, "Don't worry boy, I have other chariots I can use." Waver sighed as Rider brought them both down in front of Saber. "I see you decided to strike early Saber are you that impatient?"

Waver stood behind Rider who gripped his staff while Saber gripped her sword. "My master was taken and you were seen taking her," she said looking them in the eyes. He could tell that she did not want to fight but he did not know if Rider would just allow her to leave.

Rider laughed, "Me kidnap a person? If I had an errand I would send my sphinxes would you honestly fall for such a trap?"

Saber looked shocked and swore, "Forgive me Rider I saw a person that looked like you and in haste, I acted. I do not wish to fight you now," she said carefully.

Rider nodded, "I understand, I do not wish for a fight now but neither I nor Archer can change our appearance which leaves Berserker as the culprit."

Waver saw Saber's eyes widen, "Berserker," she muttered.

"In your last fight he seemed to want to kill you. He must be someone you knew in life," he said as he tried to recall the stories of King Arthur. "Like a knight who felt wronged by you," he said.

He swore he saw Saber's eyes widen in fear, "No," she muttered. "Rider I must go forgive my attack," she said.

Rider nodded, "No problem, I have other means of transportation and fighting. I propose a temporary alliance to stop Berserker."

Saber nodded, "I accept the offer."

"Good, we will go after their base. I wish you luck Saber," Rider said with sincerity.

Saber got on her bike and nodded, "You too Rider," before driving off.

"Its official I so want one of those bikes," Rider said as he watched her ride off.

Waver sighed and rolled his eyes, "Rider really?" Rider just laughed and patted his back.

"Let us go now we shall raid the enemy now," Rider said as he summoned a sphinx. He nodded as Rider helped him on the sphinx.

"I know where the Matou place is at," he said. "He is the only culprit."

Rider nodded, "Excellent then we shall ride off at once," he said as the sphinx rode through the night.

AN: So this story is almost done, it will all end in the next chapter.

To King OfPowers. I honestly don't remember who was superior between Kayneth and Tokiomi, I just but Tokiomi as more superior because the Tohsaka family had more experience with the grail but I honestly don't remember.

Also, Saber and Kiritsugu were acting more on emotion when they saw the equivalent of Irisviel getting kidnapped, they only saw Rider kidnap her and that was the only lead they had.
