Arrived outside the prince's chamber through a magic portal, Playmaker quickly pushed the door in and made his way to the bed where he gently placed Ryoken down. Though the knife had penetrated his heart, he was still alive but just barely. Climbing on top of him, the emerald eyes teen grabbed the handle and pulled the dagger out while casting a high rank healing spell at that same time. He didn't want to believe the lie Ryoken said back then. Yet, a small part deep inside him was yelling out. The next thing he knew, his body moved on its own.
As Playmaker finished healing him, he nearly collapsed from exhaustion. The spell really took its toll on him. With little strength he had left, the teen checked his heartbeat and slided down the bed. He was so tired that he couldn't lift a finger. Yet, upon noticing something shiny at the corner of his eyes, he surprisingly pushed himself up and dashed forward, nearly hitting his head on the makeup table as he tripped. Grabbing it tight with his shaking right hand, he pulled back and leaned against one of the table's legs. Laying neatly in the palm of his hand was an earring shaped like bullet connected by a rare blue jewel. At that moment, his whole body trembled.
"This is..."
His thought was cut short as he heard footsteps coming closer. Biting his lips, he crawled to the window and hid behind the left curtain. As soon as he finished, the door was opened by a grey haired teen who was carrying slive tray filled with steaming hot food and a cup of black liquid. The second he walked in, this one feeling rised up inside him. Locking the door while leaving the tray levitating in midair with magic, he took a quick scan of the room and walked straight to window with a ball of dark magic energy ball forming in the palm of his hand. Yet, just when he was about to grab the curtain and released it, that person's voice echoed in the air.
"Spectre?"
At that moment, he turned back smiling while chanting a different spell in his mind to deal with "the uninvited guest". However, what he expected to be there was gone.
"And here I thought you're sound asleep, your highness."
"Any more sleep and I think I'll turn into "Sleeping beauty"."
"Well, I must admit you do fit for that role. I thought you might be hungry, so I asked the kitchen to prepare something." He swung his hand lightly and the tray flew to Ryoken, landing in his lap as he pushed himself up.
"You could have let the one of the maids carries it here."
"And let you charm her into finishing most of it for you? I don't think so."
"You knew?"
"Of couse. Beside your parents, Aki and I practically raised you, remember?"
"Yet, you two don't look your ages."
"That's because we ate our vegetables." He laughed
"So, what are you doing over there?"
"I just thought we need some fresh air in here." He said while opening the window.
After that, they talked for a little longer before Ryoken chucked down the cup of nasty medicine Spectre prepared. It was so bitter that his eyes started to water. Then, under the call of a knight, the grey haired teen left. Once he could hear the footsteps anymore, Ryoken put the tray to the side and leaned back, gazing at the closet with tiring eyes.
"You can come out now."
Slowly, the closet's door opened. Before he knew it, the emerald eyes teen was once again standing in front of him.
"How did you..."
"Because to me, the closet is the safest place." He smiled.
"But this isn't the place I--"
"Hid?"
"Yeah..."
"Those earrings belonged to my mother, created by the great mage, Merlin himself. It was given to my mother by her parents on her tenth birthday. Apart, they're nothing more than a normal earring, but together, they grant their owner deepest wish. And my wish is to protect you..." He smiled. "...my other half."
