Edmund to Susan,
BellatrixTheStar to BrokenKestral
Dearest Susan,
It feels like forever since I received your last letter, though not for the reasons you would think. Lucy and I went on an adventure, back to you-know-where! I'm mindful of the Professor's instructions from all those years ago not to speak too much on it, but I couldn't help writing about it now. Especially since we have not had the chance to speak to anyone else about it, though Eustace has convinced Aunt Alberta to let us all take the train to Professor's home for dinner and see Peter. They are inviting Polly over as well and - Oh, but I'm getting ahead of myself.
I would tell you the whole story, but there is too much to tell, much more than one letter could hold. I do wish Mother, Father and yourself would hurry home so I could tell you the full of it, but even though a year had passed in Narnia, we arrived back at the exact moment we left. I will look forward to telling you everything at the end of the summer holidays then. I know Lucy was bursting to tell you and Peter too and you will most likely soon receive a much more detailed letter from her.
Until then, I'll say that it was completely different from our last adventure! But then again, things never do happen the same way twice, like He said. * Over there it had only been about two years since we left Caspian, and we journeyed with him on the Dawn Treader to the end of the world and Aslan's country. Caspian's original plan was to fulfil his oath and discover the fate of those seven lords whom Miraz had sent east, never to return. They set sail at Cair and we were drawn in just over halfway between The Seven Isles and The Lone Islands. A lot has changed since we were last there! Eustace, Lucy, Reepicheep, Caspian and I - but wait, I'm getting ahead of myself again. And I haven't asked a thing about you! I'm not normally a disorganised writer, as you know, but we only just got back and I was simply bursting to tell someone.
How are you?
I hope you are all well and enjoying America. I know that you-
Sorry, I'm being called to dinner and I can't write more or I'll miss the post for this week.
Much love,
Edmund
* Prince Caspian quote, but you guys, being the intelligent people you are, probably already knew that :)
