The hug shared between the couple was long and loving, and feeling each other so close after such a long time of being apart had made them feel more alive than they had ever felt before. Gentle arms were wrapped around the blonde and Arizona had sunken into the warmth of her wife's body. In each other's arms, they had always felt safe and their worries had disappeared as if they had never even existed. For the first time in months, the two women had relaxed and a wave of indescribable peace washed over them. After hugging each other for a long time, Callie had slowly pulled away and stared deeply into ocean blue eyes. The sparkle that was lost for so long had come back and filled the Latina's heart with joy.
"I wish you could kiss me." Arizona sighed.
"Honey, you're negative and so am I." Callie smiled and pulled down her mask that hid her face from her wife all this time.
"Gosh, you're so beautiful." Arizona gasped.
"Come here." the Latina whispered and grabbed the blonde's face with both of her hands as her lips met Arizona's soft lips. The kiss shared between them had felt like a firework inside of them and the love they had felt for each other at that moment was stronger than ever before.
"Mmm, I missed that." Callie whispered.
"Kiss me again."
The couple had shared a few more kisses before they had to pull away from each other, so both of them could take a moment to breathe. The blonde had still struggled with air after Covid had affected her lungs, but kissing had turned out to be the perfect exercise to make them work properly again.
"Let's get you downstairs. You don't have to be in here anymore." Callie said and stroked the blonde's hair.
"Sounds good to me." Arizona smiled.
It had felt great to be able to leave the ICU after two long and frustrating weeks. Arizona had known she wasn't allowed to go home yet, but anything other than the ICU had sounded perfect to her. The blonde had to be careful not to get infected with the virus or any other disease again, and only doctors and Callie could see her, but as long as her wife was by her side, she would survive and get through the toughest battles. The new room Arizona was put in had felt and looked a lot warmer than her old room in the intensive care unit and it even had a TV. The blonde had never been a TV kind of person, but not having had something to watch for so long had left her desperate for entertainment. Callie and Arizona had just gotten to the room when Bailey had walked in.
"Good morning, guys." Bailey smiled.
"Morning, Chief." Arizona said and smiled back at her.
"We're going to start with some exercises today. You have been put in a wheelchair to get down here, I suppose?"
"Yes."
"Alright. No wheelchairs from now on, expect when you need to be transported or brought somewhere. Today is the day you start walking again. If you want, Callie can help you with that."
Arizona smiled at her wife. "I'd love that."
An hour later, the two women found themselves standing in a different room to practice walking again. The blonde hadn't lost her ability to walk, but she had to take things slow and get used to it again since her body had gone through so much. Callie had pulled her out of her wheelchair and held her to help her adjust to standing on her own two feet again. The Latina had sensed how scared her wife had felt and her heart went out to her.
"I'm here, honey. Take your time." Callie said and held her by the hips.
"I'm...I'm scared I can't do this." Arizona sighed.
"Arizona." Callie smiled. "You've got this, but you can take all the time you need. I'll be with you every step of the way."
Arizona had taken a deep breath and decided to trust her wife. She had known that if she wanted to succeed, she needed to trust her and take the first steps with her. It had taken the blonde a few minutes before she had finally dared to take a step forward, but when she had, Callie smiled happily. "You're doing great!"
The feeling of walking had felt weird at first, but a part of her realized how much she had missed it and how desperately she needed to regain control of her body again. The first steps had felt okay, but the more she walked, the more exhausting it had become. Arizona breathed heavily and held onto her wife tightly. Tears formed in her ocean eyes and a strong feeling of frustration hit her with full force.
"Only a few more steps, baby." Callie encouraged her.
"No! I don't want to walk anymore!" Arizona hissed.
"Baby, only a-" the Latina tried to say, but was quickly interrupted by the blonde.
"No! I want to stop! Sit me down!" Arizona screamed as her tears streamed down her face.
Callie had known the anger wasn't directed at her, but being yelled at had brought back memories of the time when Arizona had lost her leg and blamed her for everything and anything. Teaching her wife how to walk again had given her countless flashbacks and caused her to swallow hard. It was in the past, but sometimes, it had still affected her.
"Arizona, I can get your wheelchair, but please stop yelling at me." Callie said softly.
"Sorry...sorry. I just...I can't." the blonde cried.
"Shhh, it's okay. It takes time to get used to it again." Callie said, trying to comfort her wife.
"I...I know. I'm sorry for yelling." Arizona sighed, but before Callie had said another word, the blonde felt herself being picked up by strong arms.
"Wha-what are you doing?" the blonde gasped.
"I'm carrying you to the wheelchair." Callie smiled.
Back in the wheelchair, more tears escaped the blonde's eyes and having yelled at her wife made her feel guilty and stupid. The Latina had noticed Arizona's tears immediately and kneeled down in front of her.
"Hey, baby. This was only the first time you tried to walk. It will get better soon, I promise."
"It's not...it's not that. I shouldn't have yelled at you."
Callie smiled sweetly at her wife. "Babe, you already apologized. I'm not mad at you."
"I know, but none of this is your fault and I-" Arizona tried to say, but before she could finish her sentence, she felt soft lips pressing against her own.
"Mmm." the blonde moaned in between kisses. "I missed that."
"I wonder what else you missed." Callie smirked and let her hands roam over Arizona's legs, causing her to shiver.
"Cal-" Arizona whispered.
"Shhh, let me make you feel good." Callie insisted and let her hand wander between the blonde's thighs which had barely been covered by her hospital gown.
"Someone could walk in any minute."
"So?" the Latina teased.
"I can't believe you." Arizona giggled softly when soft hands spread her legs further apart.
"If anything is too much, you let me know, okay?" the brunette asked before she proceeded.
"Okay." Arizona smiled and felt herself being pushed further into the wheelchair after Callie had removed her panties.
Arizona gasped at the sudden loss of her panties, but when Callie's hot breath met her center, she squirmed. The Latina smiled at her wife's adorable reaction and lowered her head slowly, not once looking away from the blonde's blue eyes. Arizona breathed heavily and when her wife's wet tongue met her clit, she let out a low moan that sent shivers down Callie's spine.
"You know…" Callie said in between hot licks. "Orgasms…can...boost...your…immune….system."
"Oh gosh." Arizona groaned. It had been so long since her wife had last touched and pleased her this way and if she was honest, she hadn't expected to be eaten out at the hospital, but she hadn't felt the need to complain. And after all, Callie was right. Studies had shown that orgasms can boost someone's immune system and what better way would there be to make her feel healthy again?
"Yes...yes, Calliope, just like that." the blonde moaned and let her hands run through the Latina's thick hair, pushing her closer to her wet center.
Callie had always loved her wife's desperate moans, but since it had been so long since she had last heard them, it had felt even better and caused her wetness to reach her own panties. Callie groaned in response and wrapped her lips around her wife's swollen bean. The blonde arched her back and felt her lovers tongue slide back and forth. Arizona had tried her best to keep her moans down, but the pleasure her wife was providing had felt way too good. "Yes, fuck yes...fuck me."
"Mmm, you're close." Callie moaned and the vibrations of her voice brought her even closer to her orgasm.
"Yesss...please, please don't stop!" Arizona begged and grabbed the brunette's head to keep her close.
With a few more sloppy licks and kisses, the blonde fell over the edge. "Cal-Callie...I'm coming!" she screamed and felt her lips buck in response to the powerful orgasm that had hit her. Arizona was panting hard and her eyes were shut.
"Honey, are you okay?" Callie asked, concerned about her wife's heavy breathing.
"Yeah." she giggled. "I am. You just gave me the best orgasm."
"It's my pleasure." Callie smirked and kissed her on the lips.
"Let's get you back to your room. You need some rest." Callie smiled.
One and a half weeks later, Arizona was finally allowed to leave the hospital. The blonde had gone through lots of therapy and exercises and had slowly, but successfully regained most of her strength and she couldn't be more excited. Arizona had never needed to be home so badly to see her daughter again and she had never missed her so much. The couple had decided not to take Sofia to the hospital to protect her from a possible infection with the ongoing virus, but it hadn't made things any easier for them. The blonde's heart had skipped a beat thinking about her daughter and being able to see her again. It had been so long since she had last seen Sofia and when Callie opened the door to her room, she couldn't help but smile.
"Are you ready to go home?"
