Chapter Thirteen

It had been a fortnight since Robb's army had taken the city. Even in that short time period the landscape of the capital had begun to change Robb had disbanded the city watch and put his own men in charge until he was ready to reform the watch. He had released Varys from his arrest during the siege put had through Baelish into the cells with the rest of the Lannisters and their supporters. Even the reconstruction of the city after the damage of the siege had already begun.

Lords and Ladies from across the Seven Kingdoms began to flood into the city to witness the coronation of the new King and Queen and to swear their loyalty to them. Even Catelyn could admit that the city had a different feel to it as she rode into the city with Arya, Margery, Edmure and Roselyn with their small force bringing the loot and the prisoners from Riverun, the loot and prisoners were immediately taken to where they were supposed to go to by loyal members of Robb's army while the royal party made its way to The Red Keep. The rest of the Tyrells namely Olena, Aleria, Willas and Leonette had arrived the day before so when Margery and the others arrived they were greeted by Robb, Sansa and all the Tyrells. Sansa ran to her mother and sister while Margery made her way straight to Robb who she embraced passionately "You did it Robb" she exclaimed proudly "now we have to build a better Kingdom together because I would not have this without you by my side and I will not rule like previous Kings who do not listen to and respect the council of their Queens" Robb said before taking her hand and leading the combined Stark, Tyrell and Tully family into the Red Keep.

The next few days were mostly spent with family and getting the preparations for the coronation underway, Robb also had to make changes to the royal household. Bran and Rickon arrived two days before the coronation the feast of which was not as grand as Olena or Mace had wanted sine their plans for Margery were coming true at last but both Margery and Robb had agreed that a massive feast so soon after the war while people were still suffering was no way to start their rule. Robb had woken early the day before the coronation partly because of what he had decided to do that day but also because he had agreed to accompany Varys to speak to Tyrion Lannister who had been wounded trying to defend Kings Landing. Varys had told Robb about how it was members of Joffrey's own Kingsguard that had tried to kill Tyrion on the orders of Cersei. The two men entered the small chamber that Tyrion was sitting in "ah King Robb how things have changed since we last met" "you are right Lord Tyrion things have changed the realm was torn apart in no small part to both our families if my father had not looked into what happened to his predecessor he would still be alive" "yes and you would not be the new King of Westeros" "and you would have still been treated badly by your father and sister" "well I guess not everything is as bad as it was" "you once showed kindness to my brother and I wasn't well exactly kin in return due to the unravelling situation that faced our two families but I want to put that all behind us for the good of the realm old enemies must begin to heal old wounds or else we will just end up at each other's throats again" "you have certainly gown up these last few months" "aye I have and I have come to understand that the realm needs good people at its heart to keep it together" "why are you telling me this?" "I need to name a new Lord of the Westerlands a title that our father would never have given you but I have learned something that I think your own father had come to realise that you and your mind are far greater than what you may look or act like" "why me surely one of your men…?" "as I said I want to heal the wounds of the past and your mid is too valuable to waste away you do not have to answer me right ow just think about it I have to go now" "to execute Joffrey and some of my family" "yes I am sorry that I have to do it but justice must be done" with that Robb left the room.

The royal party made their way to the Sept of Baelor where the people who had done so much damage and caused so much suffering in the Kingdom were going to be executed in the same place that Robb's father had been. The streets were filled with people wanting to see justice done, soldiers from the North and the Reach lined the streets to allow Robb and the others through. The prisoners had already been brought out ahead of the royal party with people throwing stones, rotten food and spiting at them. Cheers erupted from the crowd as Robb marched into the square the royal party including the Starks, Tyrells, Tullys and Robb's most loyal bannermen stood behind Robb as the prisoners were lined in front of them so all the crowd could see them. Robb removed his cloak and handed it to Olyvar as he stepped forward Ser Barristan stood next to him and spoke "your Grace I will execute them for you" "Thank you Barristan but I was raised in the old way and as my father told us the man that passes the sentence should swing the sword" Robb stood behind Petyr Baelish, the crowd fell silent to hear Robb speak "Petyr Baelish for the crime of treason I sentence you to death do you have any last words?" "for the love that we both share for your mother let me live" Baelish cried Robb looked at his mother who's gaze was as cold as ice, Robb swung Ice above his head and cut Baelish's head off with one single motion the crowd cheered.

Robb then stood behind Joffrey "Joffrey Waters for the illegal murder of my father Eddard Stark and the pain you caused to my sister and everyone else in the Seven Kingdoms I sentence you to death do you have any last words?" "You are all traitors!" yelled Joffrey before Robb quickly cut off his head again the crowd cheered. Robb then stood behind Jamie Lannister "Jamie Lannister I find you quilty of the attempted murder of my brother after he found you with your sister I sentence you to death do you have any last words?" "get it over with" Jamie's head was quickly removed again the crowd cheered. Robb was now standing behind Tywin Lannister "Tywin Lannister for the crime of treason I sentence you to death do you have any last words?" "you have destroyed my family and my legacy but you will never truly be a King boy" Tywin sai with one last defiant roar, Robb bent down next to the man "you destroyed your family but not all of them I have offered your former titles to your son Tyrion who seems to be the only good thing you have done in your life" Tywin looked horrified Robb stood up and before he executed Tywin he shouted "I once sent you a message saying that winter was coming and that me and my twenty thousand northmen wanted to know if you really did shit gold well turns out you did and that gold is going to go to repaying the debts of this kingdom and making it a better place" Robb then cut off Tywin's head the crowd erupted into more cheers.

Robb sheathed Ice and put his cloak on he then raised his hand and the crowd fell silent, "today I brought some of the people who have ruined this kingdom to justice but there is still work to be done there are still remnants of the Lannister and their supporters to be dealt with today the old regime ends and tomorrow with the coronation of Queen Margery and myself the ew age will begin where everyone will be treated fairly and corruption and all the other crimes that have gone on in this Kingdom for so long will not be tolerated" the crowd were silent as they took in the words of their new King. Then Robb's most loyal bannerman Greatjon Umber drew his sword and held it above his head shouting "The King from the North!" all of Robb's men from the lowest peasant to his lords all copied Greatjon so did the crowd.
