Hi, my name is Kayla. Kayla Miller. And I'm popular.

Now, don't interpret that and automatically think, 'Aw, she's gonna be a bitch!' Nah. I'm not like that, at least I think.

I have straight brown hair, brown eyes, and I'm 5'3.

Anyway, I'm popular because I'm new. Are you confused? Yeah.

I was new a few months ago. Came here as a noob who didn't know ANYTHING.

So, I joined the 'popular' cliche. So I could fit in, that was one of the worst decisions in my life so far.

The popular cliche is run by a girl named Karly, with a K. When you don't know her, she's an ass. When you DO know her, she's also an ass. She bullies a lot of people, calls them weird. Tears them down brick by brick, piece by piece. I heard she was so mean, some kid actually almost jumped off a building. Karly didn't get in trouble, and neither did I. That's how it's always been. We don't get in trouble, no one stops us, and we keep doing it.

A few days ago, Karly decided she had 2 more targets.

Annabeth Chase and Piper McLean.

Piper McLean, daughter of the famous actor, Tristian McLean. You wouldn't know it if you met her and didn't know her last name. She has chocolate brown hair, ever-changing eyes, and she's about 5'8. She can get anyone to do ANYTHING.

Annabeth Chase, she has blonde hair, grey eyes, and she's about 5'10. She will scare the shit out of you if you try and cross her. Her eyes will burn holes into you, no mercy. She can also get people to do anything, out of fear.

They seem to just understand each other. Like when Annabeth spaces off and looks at nothing, but her face looks like she's seen war and more. Or when Piper tells someone to do something, Annabeth tries to bite her smile.

They would've been great additions to the popular cliche, but they said no, which no one has ever done. If fact, they pretty much laughed in Karly's face.

So, obviously, Karly had to get them back for this sin. Which means the whole popular cliche has to hate them.

"Hey, misfits," Karly said one day. The whole popular cliche surrounded Annabeth and Piper, with Karly at the front.

Annabeth and Piper looked at each other and the message was quite obvious, 'We have MUCH better things to do'.

"What do you want, Karly?" Annabeth's tone was annoyed like she was gonna walk away at any moment.

"Just wanted to let you know that you BOTH are a waste of oxygen. It should be saved for someone like me," Karly flipped her blonde hair.

"I'm willing to bet you haven't inhaled real oxygen in 6 YEARS through all that perfume," Piper smirked. Annabeth sniggered.

Karly made this weird noise like an old car trying to start.

Annabeth raised her eyebrow like, 'Should we get her help?'

"Bitches," Karly muttered and stormed away.

Now they were really gonna get it.

NEXT DAY

In English, Annabeth was doing that thing where she just spaces. Piper was sitting right next to her, glaring

The bad thing was: Karly noticed.

"Mrs. Davis," Karly raised her hand all sweet and everything.

"Yes... Karly?" Ha! Even Mrs. Davis doesn't want to answer.

"I just wanted to tell you that Annabeth is not paying attention." Ugh. Shut up and leave her alone, ya ass.

Mrs. Davis seemed like she didn't even notice. "Oh."

"Annabeth?" Annabeth snapped out of it, and for a second, she looked scared.

She regained her composure, "I'm sorry, what?"

"Read this sentence aloud." We all knew Annabeth and Piper were dyslexic. More importantly, Karly knew.

Annabeth blinked and scowled.

The sentence on the board said, 'The generous people feed the emaciated dog'.

"The... ge... generous people," Sorry if I'm offending anyone with dyslexia out there. I don't know the pace dyslexic people read. She looked at Mrs. Davis and asked, "Do I have to do this?"

Karly was laughing like an idiot and a lot of people were laughing with her while Annabeth's scowl deepened.

"No, you can sit," Mrs. Davis sent a dirty look at Karly.

Annabeth would've shoved her fist in Karly's nose until Piper said, "Calm down, Annabeth." Although she looked like she wanted to pop her herself.

And, even though the words weren't directed at me, my muscles suddenly untensed. Even Karly relaxed a little.

Annabeth looked over at Karly and in return, Karly stuck up her middle finger.

Well, at least Karly's 'humiliation' strategy failed, but I knew there was more.

Lunch

"Hey, Dumpster Queen," Now it was time for Karly's approach at Piper.

Get involved My brain said

Piper looked at Annabeth and they both smirked.

"Hello, Clown. Lost your circus?"

You know that weird sputtering noise Karly made? Well this time, she sounded like a mouse getting stepped on.

"Why couldn't ya read that in class, retard? I really do hate that word. Never ever use it to describe anything... Even though I just did... But don't pay attention to me." Annabeth stiffened.

Stand up for them

"And why were you just looking at nothing? Were you hallucinating?"

Stand up for yourself! Why do you let her use you?

"Hello?" Karly snapped in her face and Piper started to stand up when I did instead.

"WHY? Are you picking on them?!" I feel like I should've been scared. But I wasn't, I wasn't scared of a run-away clown.

"Excusssssse me?!"

"What did they even do to you?! What did ANYONE ever do to you?"

There were murmurs of agreement among the group.

"Why did she do that?"

"What DID they do?"

"Do they deserve this?"

"YEAH! Kayla's right!" We all advanced on Karly, right now, she looked like a feral animal.

She tried to make a run for it, but it was pretty hard it those high heels.

"Hey," I sat down with Piper and Annabeth. "I just wanted to say I'm sorry for all this shit."

"Meh. I've been through worse," Piper said bitterly and Annabeth nodded darkly.

"Anyway... I just wanted to apologize to you guys directly, for my part in this. Not for Karly, but for me."

"You know what? It's fine."

"Thanks, you guys are cool."

And that's how I learned that Karly is a twerp and I should've stood up for myself LONG ago.

I know this chapter was kind of choppy, but I'm trying to get one in today.
