(Tris' POV)

She looks at me and says, "To fight it you have to resist it. There is no more to be said all there is to do to fight it is to resist it."

"But I can't! Can't you tell? I don't know why I can't," I say.

She looks at me furiously before saying, "Maybe you need to know who your fighting for."

I'm about to say something when everything around me changes.

I am in the Bureau again, memories rush into my head. Tobias. I start running to search for Tobias. I see a sign on the wall that says,

"Dormitories →

← Infirmary."

I run toward the Dormitories thinking Tobias will be there, no ones there. I run back toward the infirmary as I run past a room I hear familiar voices I go back toward the room. I take a moment to listen, "It's none of your faults," says a voice, its Christina, "first of all... Matthew Four is right you are a scientist, not someone who would fight, and second of all Four... you left the room because your father was outside so it's none of your faults. Okay?"

Four! I enter the room. I see him, my eyes widen so does his.

"Tobias," I say at the exact time he says, "Tris."

We both run to each other. We put our arms around each other tightly, not wanting to let go.

"Y-Your here," he says, he looks around to look at Christina and Matthew.

Then my head starts heading painfully, I put my hands on my head and moan.

"This is who your fighting for! Fight the Memory Serum to go back to him!" a voice in my head says.

Tobias looks at me again and says, "What's wrong."

I pant as I say, "Christina... Matthew... are you... Memory serum?"

"What," he says.

I calm myself down before saying, "T-This isn't real. Is it? Christina and Matthew are just the memory serum a-attacking me. Are you the memory serum? You can't be the real you because this is about me, you can't be here. Can you?."

He doesn't seem to understand what I mean, "I am real. What do you mean Christina and Matthew are the memory serum?" he seems real, no, he feels real, "They are 'themselves'-" I interrupt him by putting my lips on his, I hold him by putting my hands on his cheeks, he holds me by putting his arms around me.

"You are real," I say breaking us apart, I look at Christina and Matthew their facial expressions haven't changed, I think they are the memory serum. Then everything around us starts to change. There is a loud sound around us it gets louder and louder.

I look around before saying, "Bye. Tobias, I want you to remember, I love y-"

Everything disappears.

"Hello Tris," says a voice.

I'm back with my 'memories' again.

"Hello," I say.

"Was Tobias actually real?" I ask, sad to see him gone.

"Yes," she says answering my question, "but it wasn't me who got you with him, it was the memory serum."

"What?" I say confused.

"You see the first time you thought you saw me, wasn't actually me," she says, "that was the memory serum trying to fight you, currently I am trying to resist the memory serum, so we haven't got that much time until the serum comes back."

"But, I don't get it," I say, still very much confused.

"You see when the memory serum told you to fight me he meant fight me because it wanted you to fight me so that you make yourself v-vulnerable. - The memory serum is attempting to take back control - but anyway Divergents are resistant that's why you couldn't fight me, instead, you were fighting the memory serum. Do you remember when it told you to 'fight me' it?"

"Yes," I say starting to understand a bit.

"Well, it actually when it said 'fight me' it actually took you to fight me. That's why I stopped copying what you were doing and shot you," she says, "when I shot you, I showed you a powerful memory to get you to stop fighting me and fight the serum because I can also resist the serum-"

I interrupt her and say, "And what you did worked."

"Ye-," she disappears.

The serum took control again.
