Just an early update to say thank you :)
I narrowed my eyes, at the gorgeous man before me. What the fuck did I know? Jack shit! Is what I know, except for the fact my whole freaking life is one big fat lie.
"Nothing, except my life's been one big fat lie and that your an other what ever the fuck that means." I tell him honestly. He raised his eyebrows, a look of surprise, he couldn't hide, coloured his face.
"You didn't look through any of the letters?" It was my turn to look surprised.
"How do you know that?" He cursed in another language, or at least that's what it sounded like he was doing, I couldn't actually understand the exact words being said.
"You read the letter yes?" He asked me.
"One of them." I told him cryptically, folding my arms now, and looking into the woodland.
"Do not play games, Miss Stackhouse." I turned a glare on him.
"I'm not that, though am I? Mr Northman!"
"No, you aren't. YOU are much more than that. But it isn't my place to say." He said moving forwards. I stood my ground, something told me not to back down.
"Well that's just great. I'm going to go back to work now. It was nice meeting you Mr Northman." I went to turn around and felt a cool hand on my arm, the feeling of his skin on my skin, is undescribable. Maybe it was because I couldn't hear his thoughts? I know he felt it too because his hand flexed around my arm, as we stared each other down.
He pulled me close to him, so my breasts pressed against his chest.
"What are you doing to to me?" He says, in a mysterious way. I couldn't look away from his eyes.
"I've no idea what your talking about..." I tell him although when I did, I didn't even recognise my own voice... His hand moved to my neck, and up into my hair, holding me in place. I'm half surprised, I have yet to ask him, why I can't hear his thought's yet.
"Yes, you do. I hear it in the sound of your voice. No human has ever affected me this way, yet-" He closed his eyes and leaned his head back against the tree.
"Yet what?" I felt a little braver and placed my hands on his eyes flew open up on my touch. Removing his arm from around me, he pulled out a mobile phone from his back pocket, then put it to his ear. The person answered on the third ring!
"Brigant, get your ass here now. I've nearly slipped up twice. She's only read the one letter you left on her bed. Now she knows somethings, up, she wont stop asking." He rolled his eyes. "Whatever. I wouldn't have thought something was a miss if you hadn't reacted the way you did." I felt my eyes widen in surprise. "Outside, the tree line to the left of Merlotte's car park.
I suddenly felt cool metal being moved under my top, and he was holding the locket in his hand, that's nearly touching my breasts. I'd been to focused on what he was saying, to notice what he was doing.
"Your father can explain shit to you, as I do not know the full facts. This wasn't how he planned on meeting you." He tells me.
"NOW?" I say in shock. I for sure wasn't expecting this. "I'm still technically working."
"Not any more." A new voice says. Then adds, "Tonight at least." Rather reluctantly I stepped away from Mr Northman, and felt cold, and afraid to look, I kept my gaze on Mr Northman instead, who held it, whilst the new person came to stand beside me.
"It's true?" I mumbled, feeling my legs turn to jelly.
I felt him move, and he dangled the exact same locket, that I wore around my neck, in front of my eyes, as he caught me in time, before I fell to the floor.
"You have no idea how long I've waited to do this my daughter. You will have made your mother so proud with how far you've come and how beautiful you've grown." I lost it, the tears flowed, as I clung to him, and he me. I felt like I belonged in his embrace. I didn't feel the same, as when she hugged me. It's hard to explain, it felt like we stood there for hours but it was only minuets.
A throat clearing broke us apart but he didn't let go of me, as I gripped onto his clothing, as if he was going to disappear as quickly as he came.
"I asked Sheriff Northman to bring your stuff." He said in way of explanation. "There was no incident I take it?" He asked him.
"Sheriff?" I ask, glancing over at Mr Northman. I must read that darn letter again, to remember his first name. It's pissing me off, not remembering what the darn thing is. I then looked up at my father for the first time, and he looked down at me, the same time.
He glared at the man, still holding me.
"At least I'm not a fucking Fairy King." I froze. KING? My barin screamed.
"Don't you have a bar to run Sheriff?" My father cooly clapped back.
"That's what my people are for." He smirked back smugly.
"What the fuck are you two going on about?" I ask them, feeling slightly annoyed. Stepping away from my... father. Who pulled me straight back to him. I watched Mr Northman's eyes narrow at this move, and wondered why.
"Perhaps we should take this some place more private. I checked your gra- Adele's house, and she wasn't there, before I came here." I raised my eyebrow at this news.
"Hu! She must be at one of her friends houses then or they've scheduled another Descendants of The Glorious dead meetings." It took them, two seconds before Mr Northman burst out laughing. I looked up at my father, who had pursed lips, clearly trying not to laugh.
"She's crazier than I thought..." He mused.
"Well, I will drive my car and ya'll can follow me." I tell them. That got a chuckle out of them both.
"What?"
"I don't own a vehicle." My father said.
"I have plenty but prefer other means of travel."
"How did ya'll get here then?" I ask feeling confused.
"We'll tell you when we get to Miss Stackhouse residence."
"Where's your car Sookie?" Mr Northman asked.
I move forwards and this time my... father (it still feels weird saying that) doesn't pull me back. Moving over to my old yellow mini. I here them curse.
"I'm not allowing you to travel in that death trap." My father said.
"I have survived a long ass time, and that thing isn't going to survive the next winter." Mr Northman added. I turned to glare at them both, placing a hand on my baby.
"She has survived a lot with me, and SHE gets me too and from work just fine, so get your asses in the back seat, ya'll don't deserve the front after disrespecting my vehicles capabilities." They seemed to have a silent stare down between the two grown men over a beat up yellow car of all things.
"SOOKIE!" A voice yelled over the parking lot.
It was Adele Stackhouse.
Hehe! Well this chapter was full of surprises. Wasn't expecting Adele to pop in at the end here.
Hope everyones okay :) I've had a really shitty week, to tell you the honest truth so it's been nice having this world to escape into from reality.
