Aliya rushed over to the bed that the elves laid Legolas on. He was very pale and was breathing slowly. He was still alive, there was still hope.

"What happened?" Aliya asked one of the elves that helped carry Legolas in.

"A group of five orcs and two spiders cornered him. He was able to eliminate the orcs and the spider but as he was getting rid of the spider the other one bit him deep in the shoulder." The elf said, "I must return to the battle."

After the elf left Aliya looked at Legolas. Her hand brushed against Legolas'. His hand was cold. She also noticed the spot where he must've gotten bit by the spider because it was drenched in blood.

Aliya walked back over to her bed and sat down as elves went to take care of Legolas.

Soon once the elves finished with Legolas Aliya saw Thranduil enter. He knelt down beside Legolas, a concerned expression on his face.

Aliya looked away from the two and looked at a nearby healer who she recognized from earlier as Halamar. He was the head healer.

"Why can't I leave?" Aliya asked.

"We want to keep an eye on you to make sure that orc blade that cut you was not poisoned. You got a pretty deep cut from that blade anyway so we will want to keep an eye on you." Halamar said, before turning away and tending to someone else.

Aliya watched as a healer came over to her with some medicine.

"Here, this should help prevent any infection." The elleth said.

Aliya reluctantly drank the medicine. It tasted sour and spicy. It was awful.

Several hours past and soon it was night. Once some healers stopped fussing over her and left for the night Aliya walked quietly through the dimly lit room over to Legolas. There was only one candle lit in the room, casting shadows on the walls.

Aliya walked past empty beds and some with injured guards in them. Aliya then stopped at the side of Legolas' bed. She could see bandages on one of his shoulders. She couldn't tell whether his face was still pale or not. It was too dark in the room but Aliya could see that his breathing was a tiny bit better than before. At least she knew he was not in between life and death but this was still too close.

Aliya sat down and leaned her back against the side of the bed. She was frustrated with the fact that the healers took her away. If she was there maybe this wouldn't have happened but then again there were other elves there and even they couldn't help.

Suddenly Aliya felt something touch her cheek. She jumped not expecting Legolas to have been up. Aliya turned and saw Legolas laying on his uninjured side facing her with a small smile on his face.

"Thank you for protecting me. I'm glad you're alright." Legolas whispered, caressing Aliya's cheek.

"I'm glad you're," Aliya thought for a second, "mostly alright. I'm just happy you're in one piece."

Legolas gave a small laugh.

"And to think there are only three weeks until the wedding." Legolas said quietly.

Aliya's eyes widened in shock. She had completely forgotten about the wedding.

"Are you going to be healed in time?" Aliya asked.

"Yes. Don't worry about me meleth nín (my love). I will be just fine."

"Are you sure? Earlier you were unconscious and fighting for your life. Why did the spider bite affect you like this?"

"I'll be fine. I'm guessing the spider had some sort of venom in it. Whether it was normal for it or if it got poison injected in it from an orc arrow."

"Why would the orcs kill the spiders.I thought they teamed up."

"They do sometimes but other times they don't. Like if an orc or spider crosses the line then they will fight each other."

Aliya was about to say something when she saw he was focusing on something behind her.

Aliya turned and saw Halamar standing behind her with his arms crossed looking at them both.

"You both should be asleep. You need your rest if you are to heal." Halamar said quietly.

"Just a few more minutes." Legolas said.

"No not a few more minutes. It is midnight. If you two do not go to bed yourselves I will not hesitate to give you both a sleeping drought. I was given strict orders from the king to make sure you both heal." Halamar said, quietly but sternly.

Legolas sighed, leaned over and kissed Aliya on the cheek before Halamar escorted her away. He saw Aliya give a small shrug as she walked back to bed.

Aliya climbed back into bed and rolled onto her side. She pulled the blankets tight around her. She was freezing and felt a little light headed. I'm just tired. It's been a long day. Aliya thought before closing her eyes and drifting off to sleep.

This is where I will leave you for today. I will try to update soon.
