Brittany's P.O.V.

It was Brittany's and Rachel's day off and both of them had made plans to go out together after dropping their friends to the airport. Kurt, Blaine, Quinn, Tina and Mike were going to Lima for the summer. The two of them couldn't go with everyone else as Rachel had rehearsals for her show, while Brittany had to stay and teach her students. Since it was summer, more people had joined her dance studio and she had to stay to manage the new students.

They all said goodbye to each other at the airport. It wasn't a sad parting since, Rachel and Brittany had managed to take a week off and would go to Lima in a couple of weeks. Both of them decided to shop together and went to H&M. As they were entering, Brittany barged into someone.

"I am so sorry", said the woman

"Dani?", asked Rachel

"Rachel! It's so good to see you"

"How have you been? I tried to reach out to you a couple of times but you didn't answer"

" I actually lost my phone along with all my contacts on the day I left for Chicago"

"Wait, so you live in Chicago now?"

"Yeah, I got a great job there and I came here to visit my family. So how is Santana?"

Rachel's expression instantly changed from one of joy to one of sorrow.

"She passed away a couple of months ago, unfortunately"

"What? How?", asked Dani in a state of complete shock.

"She had an accident", said Brittany quietly.

Brittany still wasn't used to telling people about Santana's accident and found it pretty difficult. She was the one who had to tell Santana's colleagues and their reactions had been hard for her to witness. Dani now had tears in her eyes and looked absolutely distraught.

"I can't believe this."

"It was really hard for all of us. But we are in a better place now."

"How did you know her?", Dani asked Brittany

"I was her wife actually"

"I am so sorry for your loss."

"Thanks, I appreciate it. She told me about you, you know. She said that you were an amazing person and she hated hurting you."

Dani smiled softly and said, "Would you guys mind getting a cup of coffee with me?"

"Sure, I know a great coffee shop which is near."

They went inside the Coffee Bean, ordered coffee and sat down. Dani looked deep in thought and her face was full of grief. Brittany and Rachel felt sympathetic towards her as they had gone through this too and knew how hard this was.

Dani broke the silence after a while, a ghost of a smile etched on her face.

"She was such an amazing person. When she broke up with me, she told me that I was a beautiful person inside and out, but she said that she had found her soulmate and she wanted to give me the chance to find mine too. She said that one day I will find someone as compatible for me as you were for her. She truly loved you, didn't she Brittany?"

"She did", whispered Brittany with a tear trickling down her cheek.

The three of them talked for a long time and exchanged stories about Santana. As they left the shop, Brittany and Dani exchanged numbers and hugged each other. Brittany was glad that she got to meet her and found a new friend who understood her feelings.

A few days later, as Brittany was going back to her apartment, she got a text from Quinn.

Brittt! I think that I just found the best guy on earth -Quinn

What? In Lima? -Brittany

Yes, he is going to Harvard for grad school, just like me! He did his undergrad from there as well in psychology. -Quinn

That's great! -Brittany

He is smart and gorgeous. I haven't felt this way with a guy in a long time -Quinn

I am so happy for you. Go and talk to him! Don't waste time texting me -Brittany

Texting you is never wasting time ,Britt. -Quinn

Thanks for that, but go and talk to him! -Brittany

Ok, Ok….I am going. Wish me luck -Quinn

Brittany was extremely happy for Quinn. She believed that Quinn really deserved happiness in her life but she would have to make sure that the girl didn't let men define her life again but Brittany then started thinking about the fact that she would never be able to feel like that ever agin. As far as she was concerned, Santana was the only one who could make her feel giddy with love and bring butterflies to her stomach. Brittany tried not to think about it and kept walking but when she reached home and was alone, she could not stop her thoughts. She broke down and started sobbing.

Rachel's P.O.V.

Rachel was in a cheerful mood that day. Her rehersals were going very well and she would be going back to Lima in a week. She was really looking forward to this trip since she missed her dads a lot and would also get to meet Mercedes, Sam , Artie and Mr Schuster after a long time.

She came up to the apartment, used her key and was surprised by the sight she saw in the living room. Brittany had been in a much better place and rarely cried now, but there she was , sobbing her heart out. Rachel went up to her and wrapped her arms around her.

"What happened Britt?", she whispered

"I will never be in love with someone again. I will never smile like an idiot just because I am in someone's presence.I will never wake up everyday for someone else.", she said in between sobs.

"It may seem right now that Santana was the only one who could make you feel that way, but time will reinstate your faith in love. Maybe you will never find someone like her but you shouldn't close yourself off to the possibility of being happy again."

"But..But..there is no one like her. No one."

"Maybe there is someone different."

"I don't want anyone else, I want her."

"Britt, she would want you to be happy, you know she would. Just give yourself some time and then you can consider dating someone else."

"I don't think that I will be able to and even if I do , I know for a fact that I would never be as happy as I was with her."

"I completly get that feeling. Please just give yourself some time."

Review from Kmpcarter: I like this. I wish someone would have done something similar when "Puck" died.

Response: I am so happy that you like it. I actually did not know about glee when "Puck'/Mark Salling died but even if I did , I probably would not have written a tribute to him because I did not particularly like his character and the actor was not really a great person. Whereas, Santana was my favourite character and I loved Naya Rivera.
