Chapter twelve:

"I just came here to talk to you." "Kaoru" tells the king trying to seem innocent as the other Specters head over to surround the king who can't see them.

"How did you get in here?!" The King demands further and is about to shout for his guards when "Kaoru" responds giving him pause.

"The guards are shall we say distracted." "Kaoru" informs the King who stares at him in confusion.

"What did you do to them?" The king demands as he stares at the male standing before him. He looks to the way in. "Guards!" He calls to the guards that are supposed to be guarding the entrance… Only for nothing to happen making his eyes widen when this happens. He turns his attention back to "Kaoru" feeling his heart pound in his chest as he is now alone with this person pretending to be a guard. He doesn't know what the other did to his guards but if he can easily take out those that are trained to protect him then who knows what the other can do. He makes sure he is on his feet then shifts one foot back prepared to try to defend himself if he must.

Night moves over to the kings shoulder and leans in close whispering in his ear. "Oh don't be such a fool." He tells the ruler who pauses at hearing the sudden voice. He keeps himself hidden from the others sight as the king turns to look where Night should be. He smirks slightly at the others before turning his attention back to the king. "This guy has you outmatched. Don't forget that your guards were taken out as if they were nothing." He continues to torment the king who looks to "Kaoru" with shaky eyes. He feels a thrill go through his body as he continues on with his tormenting whispers to such a high ranking individual. "You cannot defeat him. You will just be defeated trying. You have no choice." He leans a little closer almost brushing his nose against the king's ear. "You should hand the kingdom over to him."

The king closes his eyes tightly then opens his eyes glaring at "Kaoru" who is just confidently smirking at him. "No. I am not going to just hand over anything to him." He charges at "Kaoru" ready to defend himself and his kingdom even if he is doing it alone.

"Kaoru" sways to the side dodging the attack then manages to grab the king's wrist then he slams a kick into the others stomach.

The king hunches over and "Kaoru" keeps a tight grip on the other's wrist.

Night hurries over and goes back onto the King's shoulder. "Stop being so stubborn. You can't defeat him. Just give in and maybe he'll take mercy on you and your family."

The king looks up meeting "Kaorus" eyes. He sees the other staring back at him with a serious yet cold expression. He does his best to keep his own glare strong as he refuses to break eye contact with the other. He thinks onto his eight year old son and his twelve year old daughter as well as his beloved wife. He doesn't want anything bad happening to any of them. He can't let who knows what the other is planning to do happen. He swings his other hand only for a force that he can't see to suddenly grab his arm stopping him. He chokes out a gasp as next the force also grabs his neck wrapping tightly around it. He is pulled back slammed down onto the floor. His eyes close as his back impacts with the floor. He opens his eyes only to look up at feeling a foot coming to rest on his chest. He feels the grip on his neck loosen enough for him to be able to speak. He can tell that it is ready to tighten around his neck once more if needed. He stops struggling as his eyes stare in "Kaorus" cold eyes. "W-What the hell are you?" He questions almost hesitantly as his mind questions if he really wants to know what the other is.

"Kaoru" gains a wide grin that just sends a chill down the King's spine. "Why you foolish human." He begins then he slightly crouches to lean closer to the others face not breaking eye contact with the other. "We are the darkness that you try to hide from everyone. The ones who know the secrets that anyone would want to take to their graves."

The king trembles a little at the words that seem to have a really sinister tone in the others voice as he speaks those words. He swallows harshly and knows that he has to make a choice of what he is going to do from here.

Haruhi heads over to Hikaru and places a hand on his shoulder. "Hikaru. The being is one who makes deals. What if the deal is that someone else has to die in order to save Kaoru? Do you really think that he would want us to go that far?"

Hikaru stares at Haruhis face for a few moments in disbelief then after those few moments he moves away from her letting her hand drop down to her side. "Why should it matter if this being makes deals!?" He shakes his head. "I will give up anything if it is to help get my brother back!" He can't help the tears that come to his eyes even as he says this. His tears are a mixture of feeling helpless for his brother, some fear for what the price to save his dear brother could be, and feeling frustrated that the others are so hesitant on this.

"We are just trying to look out for everyone." Tamaki reminds Hikaru who looks away from them with an upset look on his face. He lets Kyouya take over as the other adjusts his glasses.

"Hikaru. We do want to help you out with this. We just need to think very carefully about the actions that we take in order to do what we should do." Kyouya reminds the older twin as he watches the other through the glare on his glasses lenses. He can see that though Hikaru is still upset he is seeing that they do actually have a point. "So let's take a moments breath and calm down for a few moments. We need to think this through as clearly as we can."

"Your friends are right." Briar adds looking sympathetically at the ginger haired male. "If we rush things then we could make big mistakes. Mistakes that could cause us to not be able to get your brother back. Then what would you do?"

Hikaru sighs heavily though he sits down with the others. "Fine." He agrees finally and glances around at everyone there. "Then lets do it that way. I want to make sure that we do indeed get my brother back."

Upon hearing this Briar smiles softly. "Glad you're on board." She tells him then glances to the others. "Let us begin a little meeting about our plan to move forward from here."
