Chapter 11: All for Two.
After having been on the plane for so long, Mineta was happy to be able to get off said plane and walk around, though, he was used to the normal culture, or mixed grab bag of cultures, of America, he soon found out that Momo had never been, and the culture shock was quite significant for her. "Minoru, why is everyone so loud?" She asked him as he walked through the airport down to where their shuttle is to take them to their hotel, tomorrow was going to be the day when they head out to his father's laboratory, and hopefully find some much-needed answers.
"It's just how things are here, Back home, it's seen as rude to be loud, here, unless you are in a certain setting, being quiet and soft-spoken isn't really what you would do here, even among friends there is a personal bubble that you have to respect, so being louder is needed." He said as Aizawa followed behind them.
"So, that's where all-might gets his loudness from." He says as they walk up to a valet and Aizawa hands a ticket over.
"Y'all are gonna be on shuttle three, be safe y'all." The valet says with a clear texas drawl, Aizawa blinks a few times. "Mineta, what is Y'all?" He asks, knowing propper English, but certain regional words escape him.
"Y'all means you all, then there is all y'all, which means all of you all. Honestly, it's more contextual than anything. I mean, you've heard me speak English, My English accent is the same." Mineta says with a smile.
Momo blushes just a bit. "I think it sounds nice, in some ways you sound like a cowboy from those old movies." She says as they get to their shuttle and get aboard.
"Ya, headed to the regency?" The driver asks.
"Yup!" Mineta confirms as he takes a seat.
"Minoru, you simply made a noise?" Momo says with a tilt of her head.
"No... I said 'yup' which is like saying 'Yes'. also, 'Uh-hum' works as well." Mineta says with a smile.
"Mineta, I expect your English grade to go up, I didn't know you spoke at a native level." Aizawa said, reminding the short student that he should be doing better in his English studies, of course, that's not to say his improvement isn't great already, just, he now knows that Mineta should be top of the class in that subject.
"Alrighty, regency hotel, y'all take care naw, y'hear?" The driver says as Mineta stands up and gets off the shuttle. "Thanks!" He says as he hops off the shuttle and looks up at the huge hotel. "Jeez, I forget how big everything is."
Momo blinks and gives a nod to the driver as she steps off the shuttle as well and looks to Mineta. "So... haven't had a decent meal since breakfast, any ideas?"
Mineta thinks and then something hits him like a ton of bricks. "WHATABURGER!" he says as he pulls out his phone. "Please tell me there is one within delivery distance... YES, there is." he says with a wide smile as they go into the lobby, their room, or, suite, is ready. Mineta gets what Aizawa and Momo want, and orders for himself, as they get up to their suite, they realize it's a three-room affair.
"Mineta on the right, Momo on the left. I'll be out here. but for now, make sure your gear is all set for tomorrow while the food is being delivered." Aizawa said as he finds a rather blush couch, and rolls out his yellow sleeping bag while his students are off getting their gear set.
Later that night.
Mineta was on the roof of the hotel, well, more like a top of the building observatory. He looked out along the skyline against the moonlight, and a small feeling of nostalgia hits him, his choices for a hero academy were Ether UA, back in Japan, or Bravery Academy here in Texas, though he picked UA and is happy with his choice, he often wonders how things you have gone here, well, unlike Japan, he would have gotten a grant due to his half Japanese Heritage, but that wasn't important, what was Important was where his father was and if the old man was okay.
"Minoru, having trouble sleeping?" Momo asked as she walked up behind him. Looking out over the city, she tilts her head at the purple night sky against the city's skyline. "Quite a sight."
Mineta nods and turns to look at her. "Just, a lot of things on my mind, mostly about my father being okay, and how tomorrow is going to go." He says with a sigh as he looks up at the moon. "You know momo... we never did get that slow dance." he says, having heard the music from the ambient speakers on the roof.
Momo smiles and moves to take his hand as they began to dance and twirl on the rooftop, enjoying the night and the softly playing music that should have happened the night before.
UA All-might's office
All eighteen of them were standing around his desk, each of them looked like they were ready to tear the whole building apart as all-might tried to calm them down. "Look I understand your concerns, but Mineta and Momo were chosen for this, and you will have to accept that. Nezu didn't give anyone else permission to leave campus and skip classes." He says as he tries to talk some sense into class 1-A.
"All-Might, you can't expect us to sit here while our friends are in danger." Midoriya says as he has that look of pure determination in his eye.
"Yeah, even if Aizawa is with them, you don't know the trouble, or what danger they could face, they need a team behind them!" Kirishima adds as he makes a fist. "We have to help them."
"Whatever danger it is, I'll kill it." Bakugo says as he leans against the wall, he may not care about those two too much, but they get to go and fight villains while the rest of them are told to just 'sit and wait'. "This whole thing pisses me off."
"If you won't give us your blessing, then we will go without it, but we are going All-Might-sensei." Jirou says as she gives a frown, Momo didn't even tell her they were leaving, she won't even respond to her texts.
"Besides, what are friends for if we let them run into danger." Denki says as he himself just wants to see if his little buddy is okay.
As the rest of the class voices their opinion, all-might hangs his head in defeat. "Look, return to your dorms, I'll talk with Principal nezu and bring his decision to you in the morning, regardless of what it is, we can make further plans, deal?" He asks, the class at they seem agreeable to his prospect, if not still on edge about the whole situation.
'Young Midoriya, you rallied your class to the defense of your friends, such leadership is a good thing, I just hope you are ready to bear the burden... and I hope young Momo and Minoru are ready for theirs if what Aizawa said is true... it's good to know they have their friends at their back.
