Prologue
Casey Jones here. I've been friends with the Teenage Mutant Ninja Squirtles ever since I helped them escape April's burning apartment and the Foot Clan. They are also forever grateful for my help in rescuing their sensei and father, Splinter. Ever since then, I've fought alongside with them. Right now, we're in the Fuchsia City Gym, trying to find Koga. However, there are booby traps littered at almost every turn. I just hope they don't kill us before we reach him.

Episode 11: Return to Fuchsia Gym
It was a peaceful day in the forest. Our pizza loving heroes, the Teenage Mutant Ninja Squirtles were taking a break on their search for the Fuchsia City Gym. They and their friends, Splinter, April O'Neil, Casey Jones and Misty Waterflower were resting near a waterfall. The TMNS and their sensei were using this time to meditate.
"How can they sit there for a long time without being disturbed by outside noises?" asked Misty. "It's harder than it looks, Misty," said Casey. "Michelangelo once told me about a time when they were youngsters, how Michelangelo was trying to make Leonardo laugh while he was perfecting his katas," said April. "Really," said Lapras. "He was actually trying to do that?" asked Primarina. "Yes," said April. April began to tell the tale.
Roughly a decade ago . . .
Leonardo was practicing some of his ninja moves when Michelangelo was walking into the area, listening to some music. Leonardo then stood in a special ninjutsu pose. "Hey, Leo. You seen my Game Guy anywhere?" asked Michelangelo. Leonardo didn't respond. "Hello? Anyone home?" asked Michelangelo, waving his hand in front of Leonardo's face. Michelangelo couldn't break Leonardo's concentration. But that wasn't going to stop Michelangelo from trying. He made a silly face at Leonardo by sticking out his tongue. Leonardo didn't move. Michelangelo hated being ignored. Michelangelo blew a balloon and then popped it with a needle. Leonardo didn't react yet again. Michelangelo growled in annoyance. He put a glasses, nose and mustache disguise kit on Leonardo's face. Michelangelo chuckled and held up a mirror. Leonardo didn't seem to be fazed. Michelangelo was getting annoyed. Michelangelo juggled two pieces of onions. He then eat the two onions. Michelangelo went up to Leonardo and burped in his face, also blowing smelly onion breath. Not even that got Leonardo to flinch from his pose.
So, Michelangelo decided that if he couldn't make him, he could make him saw "ow". He took out his dual nunchakus and twirled them. He then hurled one of them at Leonardo. Suddenly, Leonardo grabbed the nunchaku that was about to hit him. He then did a sweeping kick that knocked Michelangelo down and caused him to drop his nunchakus. Leonardo then jumped onto Michelangelo, with Mikey's own nunchakus. "Was I disturbing you?" asked Michelangelo.
Present Time . . .
Misty, Primarina and Lapras couldn't help but laugh. "Even as a kid, Michelangelo was still a goofball," said Lapras. "He should've known better," said Primarina. Misty and the two female Water Pokémon continued to laugh.
The girls' laugh caused Michelangelo to come out of his meditative state. Somehow, he knew that the girls were laughing at him. "Hey! I was young! How could I know better?" asked Michelangelo. The other Squirtles and Splinter came out of their meditative states. "You still don't know any better in certain areas," teased Raphael. Michelangelo growled in annoyance. "I see you're sharing stories about my sons with the others, April," said Splinter. "So, you know the way to the Fuchsia Gym?" asked Leonardo. "Yes. It's north from here, guys," said Misty. "What was your first visit like?" asked Raphael. "Well. It wasn't as friendly as I thought. The gym is actually full of booby traps," said Misty.
"What kind of booby traps?" asked Donatello. "I think it's best we find out for yourselves, my sons," said Splinter. "Why?" asked Michelangelo. "Isn't that the point of being a ninja?" asked Splinter. "Expect the unexpected," said Leonardo. "Quite right, Leonardo," said Splinter. "So what are waiting for? Let's go!" said Michelangelo. Michelangelo began to make a run for it. "Mikey! Wait!" cried Misty. She and the others followed after Michelangelo.
Very soon, the TMNS and the others found a Japanese mansion in the middle of the mountains. "There it is! Fuchsia City Gym!" said Misty. "Whoa. It's bigger than the Pokémon Ninja School!" said Michelangelo. "Since we're going to go in and navigate the ninja way, I suggest you put away your goggles, Donatello. We wouldn't want to cheat, do we?" asked Splinter. "Okay," said Donatello. He folded up his goggles and put them in one of his belt pockets. "You're going to have to rely on me to get through here," said Misty. "Right," said the others. Everybody then entered the mansion, not knowing they were being watched.
"The cost looks clear," said Misty. Michelangelo began to lean his hand on one of the walls. "I don't see any booby traps around he . . . AAAAAUGH!" cried Michelangelo as the wall next to him suddenly turned and he fell down. "Mikey!" cried his brothers. The three heroes ran up to Michelangelo. "Are you okay, Mikey?" asked Casey. "I think so," said Michelangelo. "False walls. Interesting," said Donatello. "The ninjas here must also use it as a way to hide and ambush intruders," said Leonardo. "I know how Michelangelo felt," said Misty. "I've got to be more careful," said Michelangelo.
The TMNS and their friends resumed their search for Koga. "Hey. It looks like this hallway's all clear!" said Michelangelo. He began to make a dash through the hallway. "Michelangelo, wait! There may be another . . . ," said Splinter. Michelangelo screamed his girly scream as he was suddenly electrocuted. His skeleton could even be seen as he got zapped. He fell to the ground, covered in burns. " . . . trap," said Splinter. "Ow," said Michelangelo. "I think I see what zapped you, Mikey," said Raphael, pointing to the floor. There was a hole in part of the floor. And in the hole was a Voltorb, like the ones at the abandoned power plant where the TMNS and Splinter faced Zapdos. "Voltorb," said Voltorb. "It's a Voltorb," said April. "Careful. We don't want it to explode," said Leonardo. Everybody careful walked around the Voltorb and were able to get around it without any more incidents.
Very soon, they walked up the stairs to the next floor. "Careful everybody. Even though this hallway looks clear, there could more traps like in the previous hall," said Leonardo. "Leonardo's right. Michelangelo, you can't just go charging in or you could get hurt," said Splinter. "Splinter's right. That Voltorb nearly made you extra crispy," said Misty. "Sorry," said Michelangelo. "Everybody walk behind me. Slowly," said Leonardo. Leonardo began to walk slowly, with the others walking behind him at his pace. He had one hand out in front of him and the other held onto one of his sheathed katanas.
Suddenly, Leonardo felt his hand press against something. "Huh?" asked Leonardo. Leonardo then fired a small Water Gun at the open air. But it actually made something invisible wet. Leonardo walked closer and tap on the thing again. It was actually glass. "As I thought. It's an invisible wall," said Leonardo. "An invisible wall?" asked Casey. "Yes. It's actually a wall made of glass. The glass' transparency makes it a perfect trap," said Leonardo. "Koga built it as a way to keep out intruders. It's basically an invisible maze," said Misty. "A maze?" asked Michelangelo. "And I thought cornfield mazes were tough, but invisible mazes? This is ridiculous," said Raphael. "Leonardo, is there a way to figure a way though the maze?" asked Donatello.
Leonardo thought for a moment. "Well. We could use Water Gun to make the walls wet. And when they're wet, we can see where the walls are," said Leonardo. The TMNS began to fire their Water Gun attacks, which made the invisible walls wet. They could see the water dripping on the first set of invisible walls. "Okay. The further we venture into the maze, we'll have to keep using Water Gun to make the walls wet," said Leonardo. The TMNS continued to repeat the same progress as they ventured into the invisible wall maze.
As the TMNS and the others were almost near the end of the invisible wall maze, Michelangelo suddenly tripped and headed for the wall. When he hit the wall, the wall suddenly fell over. The Ninja Squirtle screamed as he was falling out of the Gym. "Mikey!" cried everybody. Thinking quickly, Michelangelo took out his Squirtle Grappler and used it to grapple onto the edge. "Whew," said Michelangelo. Everybody helped Michelangelo up. "You okay, Mikey?" asked April. "I'm fine," said Michelangelo. "I nearly fell down there years ago too," said Misty.
The TMNS and the others finally navigated out of the invisible wall maze. "Glad we made it out of there. At least we're out of danger," said Michelangelo. Suddenly, Leonardo got out his katanas and sliced at something that nearly hit. The leader of the TMNS saw that he sliced up a ninja shuriken. "Not quite yet," said Leonardo. More shurikens were thrown at the group. Leonardo continued to slice at whatever ninja shuriken that were thrown at him. Donatello got out his bo staff and converted it into his naginata. He too also sliced the shurikens that came at him. Raphael used his twin sais to bat away the ninja shurikens that were thrown at him. Michelangelo used his nunchakus to deflect the ninja shurikens that came at. Splinter revealed his walking stick's hidden blade and sliced the ninja shurikens that came at him. "Come out whoever you are," said Splinter. "You know you can't stay hidden forever," said Raphael, twirling his sais.
"As you wish," said a first, female voice. "We shall reveal ourselves," said the second voice. Emerging from the shadows were two female ninjas. The first one was a woman with green hair and blue eyes. Her hair was styled into a ponytail by a yellow band. She wore a pink & red ninja uniform with red armbands, a black belt, red socks, yellow sandals and pink lipstick. The second ninja was a pale young woman with purple eyes and hair, the latter being tied by a yellow band. She wore a black ninja uniform, a pink scarf and belt, purple wristbands with pink stripes and white socks.
"It's Aya!" cried Misty. "Misty? What are you doing here?" asked the green-haired woman. "I'm helping these Squirtles navigate through Kanto and they've come to train with your brother, Koga," said Misty. "I'm Splinter, mutated pet of the late Master Yoshi. And these are my students," said Splinter. "I'm Leonardo," said Leonardo. "The name's Donatello," said Donatello. "You can call me Raphael," said Raphael. "And I'm Michelangelo," said Michelangelo. "I still can't believe you five are actually ninjas," said the purple-haired woman. "Who are you? I never saw you before," said Misty. "My name is Janine. I'm the daughter of Koga. Daddy's training me to become the future Gym Leader," said Janine. "He is?" asked Misty. "Yes. He's just recently been promoted to a member of the Johto Elite Four. Daddy and Aya have told me all about you along with Ash and Brock," said the woman.
"Yes. Ash not just defeated my brother, but also saved the gym from Team Rocket. I also encountered Ash, Misty and Brock again in Johto," said Aya. "You did?" asked Casey. "Remember how I told you that Ash, Brock and I trained at the Pokémon Jujitsu Academy? Aya was training there too. She was training in the battle division," said Misty. "Did you say you were a pet of Master Yoshi?" asked Aya. "Yes. But he's now in a better place," said Splinter. "I'm sorry to hear about that," said Aya. "So, when we can start training?" asked Michelangelo. "If you want to get the honor of facing daddy, you'll have to get past us," said Janine, taking out a set of tonfa. Aya took out a sansetsukon, a weapon that looked like a three-handled nunchakus.

"Lady's first," said Leonardo. "Thank you," said Janine. She charged at Donatello and swung her tonfa. Donatello managed to block Janine's attack with his bo staff. The ninja squirtle continued to block Janine's tonfa attacks. "Not bad, for a Squirtle," said Janine. "You aren't too bad yourself," said Donatello. Donatello then whacked Janine, knocking her back. Janine then revealed hidden blades on her tonfa. She then tried to slash at Donatello, but Leonardo blocked Janine's attack with his katanas. Leonardo and Janine's blades clanged as they fought each other, trying to gain the upper hand.
Aya blocked attacks from Raphael with her sansetsukon. I must admit, they're harder to defeat than the Foot Ninjas we've been fighting, thought Raphael. Michelangelo tried to attack Aya from behind, but she quickly turned around and blocked Mikey's attack. Aya then had her sansetsukon wrap around Michelangelo. He screamed as Aya spun him and sent him crashing into Raphael. But the two Squirtles got back up.
This gave Michelangelo an idea. "Raphael, I have a plan," said Michelangelo. "This had better a good one," said Raphael. Michelangelo began to whisper it to Raphael. "I like it," said Raphael. Michelangelo converted his nunchakus into a Kusarigama. He wrapped it around the leg of Raphael and began to spin Raphael around. "What are they up to?" asked Aya. Michelangelo's Kusarigama then let of Raphael and he was sent flying toward Aya. He ducked into his shell and rammed Aya, knocking her into Janine. The two female ninjas toppled over.

The two female ninjas groaned as they were starting to recover. Just then, everybody heard some clapping. Everybody turned and saw who it was. It was a man with greying teal hair and black eyes. He wore a black, purple and gray ninja uniform with a red scarf, black wristbands, gray shinguards and black shoes. "Very impressive. I didn't think that a bunch of Squirtles were capable of learning ninjutsu," said the man. "I presume you're Koga?" asked Leonardo. "That is correct," said the man.
"It's an honor to see you again," said Splinter. "Have we met?" asked Koga, raising an eyebrow. "I was once a pet of Hamato Yoshi. He once visited your Gym and trained with you," said Splinter. "Ah, yes. I do remember. You were a pet of his. And you mimicked his ninja moves as he practiced," said Koga. "And in turn, I learned ninjutsu. After my master Yoshi's deaths, I carried on his teachings and have taught my adopted sons what I learned," said Splinter.
"Misty, I see you've decided to drop in for a visit," said Koga. "Yes. I'm here because I'm their guide through the Kanto Region," said Misty. "How is Ash?" asked Koga. "He and some new friends of his are traveling in the Decolore Islands before heading home," said Misty. "I remember when he first came to the Gym and challenged me for the Soul Badge. For a first year Trainer, he knew how to counter my Poison-type Pokémon. The Pokémon I used were Venomoth and Golbat. He used Charmander and Pikachu to counter them. Despite him having the elemental advantage, my Pokémon were tough to defeat. During the battle, Team Rocket came to steal my Pokémon. Luckily, we were able to repel them with our Pokémon and a couple of tricks," said Koga.
"We came here because we wish to train with you to perfect our ninja skills," said Leonardo. "You already started training," said Koga. "We have?" asked Raphael. "Yes. Navigating your way here through those traps to get to me," said Koga. "Yeah. Mikey's sure learned not to rush in, the hard way," smirked Raphael. "Hey!" cried Michelangelo. "And that was very clever of you to use Water Gun to help navigate through the invisible wall maze," said Koga. "Thanks. It was my idea," said Leonardo. "So, you've been watching us?" asked Donatello. "Yes. But now, if you wish to be trained my techniques, you, Splinter along with your strongest student must defeat me in battle and without weapons. I wish to see if you indeed have mastered Yoshi's fighting skills," said Koga. "Very well," said Splinter. "As you wish," said Leonardo. He sheathed his katanas and removed the holsters containing his swords from his belt.
Very soon, Splinter, Leonardo and Koga gathered in a certain room where they were going to face each other in combat. The three combatants took bows and then took defense stances. They waited to see who make the first move. The others were watching anxiously as the fight was about to begin. "Can your father really take on both of them at once?" asked Misty. "Daddy's been training ninjutsu for years. He's taken on more than two opponents several times in a fight," said Janine. "He might be as strong as Shredder," said April.

Koga made the first move by throwing a smoke bomb. The smoke began to fill the room. Leonardo and Splinter coughed. "Don't lose focus, my son. We're ninja. We can see even through thick smoke," said Splinter. The two ninjas began to look around for Koga. Suddenly, Koga kicked Leonardo, knocking him down. He got back up and turned around, but Koga was nowhere to be seen. Splinter was also keeping both his eyes and ears out for Koga. Koga tried to strike him, but Splinter dodged Koga's attack just in time. Splinter dodged and blocked every attack that Koga threw at him. Leonardo was having a tougher time since Koga was at a higher level, but he managed to adapt and counteract against Koga's attacks.
The smoke soon cleared and everybody could see the three ninja fighting. But when the smoke cleared, the room looked slanted. Leonardo's eyes widened, but Splinter wasn't surprised by this. The two ninjas began to slide down part of the floor. "Sensei, what's going on?!" asked Leonardo. "I remember this when Yoshi sparred with Splinter. It's his slanted room trick," said Splinter. "Slanted room?" asked Leonardo. "It's a technique Koga uses to confuse his enemies," said Splinter. Koga was just standing on the floor without sliding. Suddenly, Koga charged and punched Leonardo, knocking him down. "You are good. But you must adapt quickly to the slanted room if you and your sensei are to beat me," said Koga.
"The slanted room along with my Psyduck first using its psychic powers is what led to Team Rocket's defeat when they attacked the gym," said Misty. "Really," said Primarina. Relying on his instincts, Splinter dug his clawed feet into the floor to prevent himself from sliding. Koga saw Splinter do that. "Impressive," said Koga. Leonardo managed to prevent himself slipping anymore. Splinter and Leonardo charged and began to gang up on Koga. Koga was blocking their punches and kicks with his arms and legs. "Wow. I knew that Koga was strong in Pokémon Trainer. But I never imagined that he would be good at fighting in hand to hand combat too," said Misty. "Come on, Leo! You can do it!" said Primarina.
Koga kicked Leonardo, sending him flying toward the wall. But Leonardo used his feet to touch the wall to prevent himself from crashing. Leonardo then propelled himself forward at Koga. He sharply swung around and whacked Koga in the face with his tail. "Ugh!" cried Koga as he got hit. Splinter then punched Koga, knocking him back. The three ninjas continued to deliver punches and kicks on each other.
The fight lasted until it was sunset. Leonardo, Splinter and Koga were starting to tire out. The three ninjas began to charge at each other in a final charge. They collided and Leonardo & Splinter landed on their feet on one side of the room, while Koga touched the ground on the other. Everybody watched nervously to see who would collapse. Ten seconds passed. The one who collapsed, was Koga. He fell onto the ground. Everybody gasped.

"Daddy!" cried Janine. Janine and Aya helped Koga up. Koga turned to Splinter and Leonardo. "You two were impressive. You are definitely worthy of carrying on the legacy of Hamato Yoshi," said Koga. "Thank you, Koga," said Splinter. "You nearly threw us off balance with that slanted room technique of yours," said Leonardo. "Yes. You might learn something from this experience," said Koga. "Well. Those traps have given me inspiration to make traps of our own to guard our home once we get back," said Donatello. "We'll start more training tomorrow. Right now, we must rest up. For today was a long day for us all," said Koga. Everybody nodded.
Before heading to bed, the TMNS and their friends were having a video chat with Ash. "Wow. You and Leonardo actually fought Koga in combat and won?!" asked Ash. "Yes, Ash. But it wasn't easy. He's just as strong as my late Master Yoshi," said Splinter. "So, what have you been up to Ash?" asked Misty. "Well. My friends and I came across Grand Spectrala Island, which was seemingly inhabited by a giant Pokémon. But as it turned out, it was just a Zoroark creating illusions to protect people from poachers. It was once a Zorua that a Nurse Joy who lived there once cared for. It evolved after the Joy closed the center due to lack of Pokémon Trainers coming and temporarily left the island. She came back because Zoroark was operating the Pokémon Center illegally under the guise of a younger Nurse Joy. But we managed to convince her not to shut it down. So, Joy decided to stay with Zoroark and turn the old Pokémon Center into a special center for wild Pokémon," said Ash. "Wow. That's quite a story," said Misty.
"So, where are you going to after you finish your training with Koga?" asked Ash. "We're going to the Seafoam Islands. Articuno has been spotted there. He's the next Legendary Pokémon we must be tested by," said Donatello. "I remember Articuno. I first encountered one back in the Orange Islands. Todd Snap, a Pokémon photographer was also trying to get a photo of one in the Johto Region. Plus, Battle Frontier Brain, Noland befriended one and used it against challengers. I managed to win using my Charizard, but it wasn't easy, despite the type advantage. So even though Water-types have an advantage against Ice-types, I'd be careful around Articuno if I were you," said Ash. "We'll take your word on it," said Raphael. "I wish you luck on your next test," said Ash. "Thanks," said the TMNS and Splinter. "Come home safely, Ash," said Misty. "I will," said Ash. "Pika," said Pikachu. The video monitor then turned off.
And so, the TMNS have passed the test to see if they're worthy of Koga's teachings. And Day 1 has passed due to getting around the booby traps. But once they finish Koga's training, they'll have to go through their next trial from one of Kanto's Legendary Pokémon. This time, it'll be Articuno. Do our half-shelled heroes have what it takes to pass the trial or will they be stopped cold in their tracks? On the next episode of "Teenage Mutant Ninja Squirtles", the time has come for our pizza loving heroes' second trial against a Legendary Pokémon. This time, they're going to partake in Articuno's Trial of Adaptability. But before they can do so, they must team up with Lorelei to prevent Butch and Cassidy from nabbing Articuno. Even after defeating the two Team Rocket agents, they'll then face off against Articuno. Can our heroes evict Butch and Cassidy? Will our heroes be able to beat Articuno's trial? Find out, in "Articuno Expedition" on Teenage Mutant Ninja Squirtles!
As you saw, I incorporated the element of Koga becoming a new Elite Four Member and Janine is becoming the new Gym Leader. Next time, things are gonna get really chilly, literally.
