Hello everyone and welcome to chapter 11 and the second chapter in the Devimon arc. Last time, we saw Sora and Biyomon face off against Meramon on their own while Naruto, Hinata, Dorumon, and Lunamon battled Sasuke, Sakura, Aegiomon, and Lalamon. This chapter will be a cross between the episodes "Kabuterimon's Electro Shocker" and "Togemon in Toy Town". Originally I was going to adapted the two episodes separately, but Aclux encouraged me to fuse the two episodes into one. Obviously the group will be facing Andromon and Monzaemon, but they will also be facing some additional threats and challenges, especially in the case of Toy Town.
PS: This chapter will contain some elements from Digimon Frontier.
Chapter 11:
The following day, the group had left the Yokomon Village and was now making their way across the field once more. Luckily for them, the air wasn't as hot as it was yesterday and they were able to get across without any risk of heat stroke. They continued to walk across the field of telephone poles until they reached a grassland that resembled an African savannah where the air was a lot cooler. Naruto and Hinata were okay, but Tai and the others were exhausted by now, even with their training from Naruto's physical activities class.
"Oh man I'm so tired," said Mimi as she collapsed onto the ground.
"Yeah, me too," said T.K. as he also collapsed. "My feet are hot.
"I guess we can all use a break," said Naruto.
Everyone then sat down on the ground. As they did, Izzy looked things up on his computer as he remembered something Sora told him the other day after the Meramon attack.
Flashback:
"You think those devices we received before we came here are what made our Digimon Digivolve," Izzy asked.
"Yeah," Sora confirmed while looking at her Digivice. "I think Naruto and Hinata called them Digivices."
"Interesting," Izzy looked at his own Digivice. "But I wonder who the guys who attacked them on the mountain were."
"All I know is that one of them was a pink haired girl and a black haired guy," Tai informed him. "What's more, they also had partner Digimon."
End of Flashback:
Izzy pondered for a bit before saying, "Naruto, you and Hinata told Tai, Matt, and Sora to use their Digivices during the attacks earlier, didn't you?"
"Yeah we did," Naruto confirmed.
Izzy then showed his Digivice. "Is this what you guys were talking about?"
"Yeah it is," Hinata confirmed.
"I see," Izzy then took a closer look at his Digivice before trying to hook it up to his computer. "Maybe if I can hack into one of these Digivices, I can figure out how they work."
Sadly, when Izzy tried to do so, his computer didn't respond.
"Still crashed and the warranty's expired," Izzy sighed.
Suddenly Tai came up and took the computer and started whacking it. "Hey, Izzy, I know how to get it to boot up. You just got to give it a couple of suitable adjustments."
"Hey quit it," Izzy quickly pried his computer away from Tai. "Are you brain cells malfunctioning?"
"Gosh, you're acting like I'm hurting the dumb thing," said Tai.
"Too bad your brain isn't as big as your hair," said Sora. "Maybe Izzy doesn't want grimy fingerprints and dents all over his computer."
"And Sakura called me stupid," Naruto muttered and Hinata giggled.
Tai pouted before noticing smoke in the distance. "Hey, look, do you guys see that smoke over there?"
Everyone looked.
"Oh, that smoke is coming from a factory," Hinata told them. "I wouldn't go in there if I were you though."
"A factory," said Izzy. "Maybe they have a computer repair department."
Just then, Izzy's computer made a sound. Looking at the monitor, he was delighted.
"Aha, we've got graphics, we've got sound," said Izzy as his computer started to work again. "Beautiful! Up and running."
But his enthusiasm was short lived as he saw that his battery was running low.
"Is your computer okay, Izzy," Lunamon asked.
"Technically yes, but the system needs recharging," Izzy answered. "Without my computer, we won't be able to find out anything safely."
"Then how about we go over to that factory," Dorumon suggested.
"Good idea," said Izzy.
"Oh, okay, but stay close," Naruto told the group.
Everyone then started making their way towards the factory.
In the factory, Sasuke, Sakura, Aegiomon, and Lalamon had just knocked out a large robotic Digimon named Andromon. He was now underneath a piled of gears, one of them being a Black Gear.
"Are you sure it's wise to just leave him lying here," asked Aegiomon.
"Let me worry about that," said Sasuke.
Flashback:
Earlier that day, while Naruto, Hinata and the Digidestined were still at the Yokomon Village, Sasuke and Sakura had arrived at the factory with their partners.
"So this is Factorial Town," said Sakura.
"Indeed," said Aegiomon. "I've heard that it's a factory town that builds up machines and then takes them apart again. It was once guarded by various Digimon, but since the Dark Masters arrived, most of them were sent off to be part of Machinedramon's army, and now only their leader, Andromon, remains."
"Why would a factory put machine's together just to take them apart again," Sakura asked. "That doesn't make any sense."
"There are a lot of things here in the Digital World that don't make sense," Lalamon answered. "I would have thought you learned that after what we've been through."
"I guess, but still," said Sakura.
"Alright enough," said Sasuke. "We have a job to do."
The group then made their way into Factorial Town. Upon entering, they quickly searched around for Andromon. Sasuke and Sakura were able to jump around rather easily thanks to their skills as shinobi, Aegiomon was able to match them, and Lalamon simply flew through the air. Eventually, they located a large humanoid machine Digimon walking about in the main factory.
"Who are you four," said the Digimon.
"We're messengers of Devimon," Sasuke told him.
Sakura checked her D-Power. "Let's see, Andromon, cyborg Digimon, ultimate level, special attack, Lightning Blade. Sounds like Kakashi Sensei to me."
"I don't know what Devimon wants from me, but whatever it is, I will have no part of it," Andromon announced.
"You say that as if you had a choice," Sasuke took out a Black Gear.
"So that's what those Black Gears I've heard about look like," said Andromon. "But why are you working for Devimon? I can tell that you two are actually good people and so are you Digimon."
"That's none of your concern," Sasuke answered with mutual face as he prepared to throw the Black Gear as if it were a shuriken. "As for you, as of right now, you shall serve Lord Devimon."
"We'll see about that," Andromon prepared to counter attack.
"I suppose we will," Sakura cracked her knuckles.
Aegiomon and Lalamon got into a fighting stance.
"GATLING MISSILES…!"
Andromon opened up his chest plate, revealing two missile launchers. He then fired two missiles at Sasuke and Sakura. The two jumped out of the way, their Digimon following in suit, but the missiles followed them. Realizing that they had to destroy them, Aegiomon and Lalamon prepared to attack.
"IRON THRUST…!"
"SEED BLAST…!"
Aegiomon struck the missiles with their Iron Thrust and Seed Blast attacks respectively, knocking them away from their partners and causing them to explode on random objects. Sakura then charged at Andromon, much to the cyborg Digimon's surprise, holding up her fist as she jumped at him.
"CHAAA…!"
Sakura punched Andromon with her Tsunade style Falcon Punch, sending the cyborg Digimon flying into some gears. Sasuke threw the Black Gear into the gears, but it was blocked by the other gears.
End of Flashback:
"Let's go," Sasuke ordered.
The four then disappeared.
Outside, Naruto and Hinata entered Factorial Town with the Digidestined in tow.
"Everyone welcome to Factorial Town," Naruto announced.
"I wonder what they make in here," said Joe.
"Wouldn't it be great if there's a manufacturer's outlet store," said Mimi. "They always have killer deals. I would love to go shopping with my sweet Naruto."
"Ladies and Gentlemen, Mimi is going to be saying that several more times throughout this fanfiction so get used to it if you can," said Matt, breaking for fourth wall.
However, what Matt failed to notice was that Mimi spotted Naruto holding hands with Hinata as they walked. Her smile faded and replaced by confusion.
As they walked together, the saw machines putting together what some could say were parts for robots or spaceships or even ships in general. But then they saw another area where the process was happening in reverse, which confused the Digidestined. But the most shocking part to the Digidestined was that there was nobody around running the machines something that both Sora and Izzy took notice of.
"Somebody's got to be moving those belts," said Joe. "And people gotta eat, so is there a cafeteria in this place, because we can really use a good meal."
"Calm down Joe," Hinata told him. "There is a cafeteria here, but I don't think you want to know what they have in there."
"I don't care," said Joe. "It's a good place for us to eat, so take us there."
Sighing a bit, Naruto and Hinata guided the Digidestined towards the cafeteria within Factorial Town's main factory. But unbeknownst to them, accept for maybe Naruto, a certain raven-haired Uchiha was watching them from afar along with his satyr Digimon partner.
Meanwhile, in a place that looked like a children's paradise, Sakura and Lalamon were patrolling the skyline and found several toy-like Digimon. One was a giant yellow teddy bear about six meters (twenty feet) tall, one was a smaller panda teddy bear about two meters (six feet) tall with a red scarf around its neck, and finally a group of figures made of multicolored legos, megabloks, or playmobils that vaguely resembled Agumon.
"Sakura, I don't like this," said Lalamon.
"Neither do I, Lalamon," said Sakura. "But we can't blow our cover. You got the black Gears ready?"
"Yeah," said Lalamon.
"Good," said Sakura as she performed some hand signs while thinking, "I may not be as good as Naruto at this, but it should work."
"MULTI SHADOW CLONE JUTSU…!"
Sakura then made multiple clones of herself (Naruto style) and each took a Black Gear from the bag Lalamon had.
At Factorial Town, Naruto and Hinata had taken the Digidestined into the cafeteria at Joe's "request". But when they got there, they were surprised by what they found was on the menu.
"What is all of this," Joe gasped.
Lying before him and the other Digidestined were nothing than a variety of batteries ranging from small AAA batteries to large car batteries. Izzy took the opportunity to identify a lithium-ion battery for his laptop and tried it in. Moments later, his laptop showed that it was fully charged.
"Well, at least these batteries seem to be fully charged," Izzy noted. "While we're here, we should take some replacement batteries in case any of electronic devices need them."
"That makes sense to me," said Matt.
Everyone who had an electronic device of any kind picked out some batteries that fit their devices and put them in the emergency supply bag. While they were doing that, Naruto probed around the cafeteria for anything else that was available. But as he looked, all he could find was bottles of sodium carbonate and potassium carbonate, for some reason. The only thing Naruto could think of was that whoever ran this factory must use these two compounds for cleaning purposes. While the others ate some more of the bento lunches Hinata made, Naruto took some of the sodium carbonate and potassium carbonate bottles and sealed them into one of his scrolls before rejoining the group. Fortunately, Hinata had a bento lunch for him.
A little while later, the group split up into two groups. Naruto led Tai, Sora, and Joe in one direction while Hinata led Izzy, Mimi, Matt, and T.K. in another.
Naruto's group walked down one of the many hallways within the factory. As they walked, Dorumon noticed something within one of the halls.
"Hey guys," said Dorumon. "I think I found something."
Following the beast Digimon, Dorumon led them to a room where they found Andromon underneath the gears.
"What do you suppose happened to him," said Tai.
"Who knows, but let's see if we can help," said Sora.
"I've seen this guy before," said Naruto, using his D-Power to get information on him for the others. "This guy is Andromon, cyborg Digimon, ultimate level, special attack, Lightning Blade. That reminds me of Kakashi Sensei. Why do I get the feeling that someone already said that?"
Meanwhile, Sakura suddenly sneezed out of nowhere. "Someone must be talking about me and I'll bet its Naruto."
Back at the factory, Hinata's group stumbled across the power supply room.
"And this right here is the power supply room," said Lunamon.
"Then this must be where all of those batteries get their power from," said Tentomon
"I'd say we going inside and have a look around," said Patamon.
Matt opened the door and everyone was surprised at what they saw in front of them, but none more so than Izzy. The main attraction was a gigantic battery.
"Prodigious," Izzy gasped. "A battery like that could run my computer forever. I wonder if there's a way to access its power."
Izzy then started poking around the giant battery, looking for a way to access its power.
"What are you doing Izzy," said Matt.
"I'm trying to tap into this power source," Izzy explained. "If I can get this baby to fire up, then we can use my computer to get some help."
With Naruto's group, they all gathered around Andromon.
"Poor thing," said Biyomon. "I guess he got caught in the gears and that's how he got mangled."
"Looks more to me that he was caught in a battle of some kind," said Dorumon, noticing the dent in Andromon's chest plate.
"Maybe if we work together, we can pull him out of there," said Sora.
"I don't know," said Joe. "My mom really doesn't want me moving any heavy objects. I got bad knees."
"Well, you're mom's not here and we can't just leave Andromon in there," Naruto pointed out.
"Naruto's right," Sora agreed.
"Yeah," said Tai
The group then took up positions around Andromon before they began moving his body, even Joe. Normally, Naruto would have entered Sage Mode or use Shadow Clones to help hall Andromon out, but he decided against it and wanted to use those only if absolutely necessary. Things were going well as the gears held onto Andromon tightly.
"This isn't going to work," Naruto told them, then spotted a lever. "Maybe this will."
Naruto walked up to the lever and pulled it. Moments later, the gears began to move and Andromon came loose. But the Black Gear Sasuke left behind also came loose and imbedded itself into Andromon's right leg. With the gears loosened, everyone pulled on Andromon and got him away from the gears at last.
"I think he's coming to," said Agumon, noticing Andromon's mouth moving a bit.
Tai then came up with his bone-headed plan again and said, "He needs is a couple of whacks for a jumpstart."
But Naruto stopped him and told him, "You're the one who needs a couple of whacks for a jumpstart."
Agumon then gave Andromon a whack on the head, much to everyone's horror.
Andromon then woke up and said in a metallic voice, "I am Andromon."
"Naruto, get away from him," Kurama warned Naruto.
"What is it Kurama," Naruto asked.
"Andromon's been infected with one of those gears," Kurama warned.
Realizing what was about to happen, Naruto told the others, "Guys, get away from him!"
But it was no use. Andromon got up on his feet and grabbed Sora by the foot, lifting her up off the ground as he stood.
"I shall punish all intruders," said Andromon.
"Hey, let go of Sora," Tai shouted as Biyomon took to the air.
"SPIRAL TWISTER…!"
Biyomon fired her Spiral Twister attack at Andromon. While the attack didn't do much damage, it did get Andromon's attention and he threw Sora across the room. Naruto was quick to catch her, but gave her to Tai, knowing that Andromon was preparing to attack. He then noticed a cable above Andromon that held several beams. Realizing that it was a good way to hold him, Naruto moved his hand up and created a Rasengan sphere that turned into a spinning blade.
"WIND STYLE: RASENSHURIKEN…!"
Naruto threw a Rasenshuriken at the cable, cutting it and causing the beams to fall down on Andromon.
"Let's go," Naruto ordered.
The group then left the room and made their way back to the others.
Meanwhile, Izzy got inside the giant battery, having found an entrance into it thanks to Hinata's Byakugan. Inside, he found what could only be described as some sort of hieroglyphic writing or computer program all over the walls.
"What exactly do you think this is," said Tentomon. "Hinata didn't know what it was."
"Well it seems to me that these markings are binary annotations of some sort," said Izzy. "A computer program basically."
Izzy got up close and personal and said, "A very complicated program at that."
Izzy then put a finger on one of the markings wiped part of it away, erasing part of the program in the process. As a result, all of the power in the factory shut down, leaving everyone else literally in the dark. Naruto and Hinata were still able to navigate using Sage Mode and Byakugan eyes respectively, but everyone else had to keep close to them.
"Who turned out the lights," Tai gasped.
"Everyone, stay close," Naruto told them. "Andromon is free and he'll be here any minute."
"Thanks for the warning," Joe gasped.
"What are we going to do when he shows up," Agumon asked.
"Leave him to us," Dorumon told him, gesturing to himself and Naruto. "You guys get out of here."
Right on que, Andromon arrived and was ready to attack the others left while Naruto and Dorumon stood their ground. Andromon then prepared to attack, spotting Naruto and Dorumon using night vision eyes.
"LIGHTNING BLADE…!"
Andromon rotated his right hand until it glowed with energy, then threw a blade of energy at Naruto and Dorumon. In response, Naruto prepared a Rasenshuriken.
"WIND STYLE: RASENSHURIKEN…!"
Naruto threw the Rasenshuriken at the Lightning Blade attack, creating an explosion.
In the battery, Izzy rewrote the program
At the moment Izzy was on his computer, using the battery he took to power it, trying to decode the program. Tentomon sat back and watched.
"That's rather mysterious," said Izzy.
"And what's so mysterious about it," Tentomon questioned.
"Well you see, batteries are powered by an acidic chemical reaction which generates a current," Izzy explained. "But this one produces its own current independently."
"And what does that mean in plain English or Japanese for those of us who didn't major in engineering," Tentomon asked.
"Give me a nano here," said Izzy.
"I'll even give you three," said Tentomon.
Izzy then explained, "If I can decode this particular program, then I can trace its base functions and figure a way out of here."
Suddenly a voice came out. "You're such a knowledgeable boy, aren't you?"
Izzy and Tentomon both looked at the door and saw both a human and Digimon in front of the door way.
"Who are you," Izzy gasped.
"I'm Sasuke Uchiha," Sasuke identified himself. "This here is my partner, Aegiomon."
"And you had better remember that," Aegiomon told them.
"What do you want with us," said Tentomon.
With Hinata's group, they were walking around the factory seeing more things being put together only to be taken apart once again. As they walked, Mimi couldn't help but think about the times she saw Naruto and Hinata close together in more ways than one.
"What is it with Hinata that bugs me," Mimi thought. "I know I've seen her and Naruto close, but why do I get this feeling that makes me almost hate Hinata?"
Suddenly, Naruto and Dorumon showed up out of the blue, still battling Andromon, surprising everyone.
In the battery, Sasuke and Aegiomon stared down at Izzy and Tentomon.
"You seem to care more about decoding things and your computer than you do about your friends," Sasuke said bluntly.
"What," Izzy gasped. "Just who do you think you are Sasuke Uchiha…?"
"That's what I'd like to ask you, Izzy Izumi," Sasuke countered. "You seem to know you are, but in reality you don't do you?"
"Huh," Izzy gasped.
Sasuke then used his Rinnegan to probe into Izzy's memories, it's design reflecting in his eyes.
Flashback:
Long ago when Izzy was younger than T.K. and Kari currently were, he overheard his parents talking to each other about something.
"Don't you think it's about time we told Izzy the truth, dear," Kae asked.
"No, I'm afraid if we told him now it might be too big of a shock," Masami answered.
But Kae argued, "I know you're trying to do what's best, but I worry that once he finds out, he'll be upset we didn't tell him sooner."
Masami argued back, "Well, we just can't think about that now."
End of Flashback:
When Sasuke was finished, he released Izzy from the genjutsu and said, "So that's it, isn't it?"
"What did you do to me," Izzy questioned.
"A little something that's not your concern," Sasuke answered bluntly, raising his hand.
"UNIVERSAL PULL…!"
Sasuke created an attractive force on Izzy's computer, taking it away from him in the process.
"Hey, that's my laptop," Izzy gasped. "Give it back…!"
"I didn't hear you say please," Sasuke taunted. "Your laptop is your main source of escapism from your reality but let's see how well you do without it."
Sasuke then turned to leave, Aegiomon in toe. Tentomon, not wanting Izzy to lose his computer, flew after them.
"Give Izzy's laptop back right now," Tentomon called.
"SUPER SHOCKER…!"
Tentomon fired his Super Shocker at Sasuke, but the Uchiha anticipated this and countered it.
"CHIDORI…!"
Sasuke used the Chidori and thrusted it at Tentomon's Super Shocker, cutting the attack in half in the process.
"What the," Tentomon gasped.
"Prodigious," Izzy gasped as well.
"Aegiomon, take care of them," Sasuke ordered.
"With pleasure, sir," Aegiomon prepared to attack.
Meanwhile, Naruto and Dorumon were joined by Hinata and Lunamon in the battle against Andromon.
"METAL CANNON…!"
"TEARING SHOT…!"
Dorumon and Lunamon fired their Metal Cannon and Tearing Shot attacks respectively at Andromon's feet, knocking him to the floor. But Andromon quickly got back on his feet and prepared another attack.
"GATLING ATTACK…!"
Andromon fired his Gatling Attack at the four, but Hinata was quick to respond.
"PROTECTIVE EIGHT TRIGRAMS: SIXTY-FOUR PALMS…!"
Hinata deflected the attack using her Protective Eight Trigrams.
From a distance, the Digidestined watched as their teachers fought against Andromon by themselves. They admired their bravery and their skills as ninja, but they could tell that they needed help facing the cyborg Digimon.
"We can't just sit here," said Tai. "We've got to help them…! Let's go Agumon…!"
"Right Tai," Agumon agreed.
"We'll help too," said Matt. "Ready Gabumon…?"
"Whenever you are Matt," Gabumon answered.
Tai and Matt, remembering what Naruto and Hinata told them during the Shellmon and Seadramon attacks, held up their Digivices. Both began to glow and Agumon and Gabumon Digivolved.
"Agumon Digivolve to… Greymon…!"
"Gabumon Digivolve to… Garurumon…!"
Agumon and Gabumon Digivolved into Greymon and Garurumon respectively and joined the fight.
"Hey, Andromon," said Greymon. "Pick on someone your own size…!"
"Or better yet, how about two," said Garurumon.
"You two will be terminated," said Andromon as he prepared to fight
"NOVA BLAST…!"
"HOWLING BLASTER…!"
"LIGHTNING BLADE…!"
While they fought, the others watched from the sidelines and saw that Andromon was giving them a hard time. T.K. clung to Sora as if she were his mother or elder sister as he watched Matt and Tai join the fight with their Digimon.
"Sora, do you think they'll be okay," said T.K., worried for his brother.
"I don't know T.K.," Sora answered.
Suddenly, Naruto took out his D-Power and slashed a green card through it.
"DIGIMODIFY…! DIGIVOLUTION ACTIVATE…!"
"DIGIVOLUTION…!"
Dorumon began to Digivolve. "Dorumon Digivolve to… Dorugamon…!"
After Digivolving, Dorugamon took up a fighting stance and prepared to attack.
"Hinata, protect the others," Naruto told Hinata, noticing that the others were more or less defenseless.
"Right," Hinata agreed, knowing that, apart from Biyomon, none of the other Digimon could Digivolve yet.
While Hinata and Lunamon jumped back to the others, Naruto and Dorugamon continued the fight against Andromon.
Meanwhile, Tentomon was trying his luck against Aegiomon.
"SUPER SHOCKER…!"
"STUN BEAT BLOW…!"
Both Digimon unleashed their trademark attacks, but Aegiomon was able to overpower Tentomon and knock him away.
"Give that laptop back," Tentomon commanded.
"You're going to have to defeat me first," Aegiomon told him.
"Fine by me," said Tentomon
As the two fought, Izzy recognized that Aegiomon was stronger than Tentomon and that his partner had to Digivolve in order to defeat him. Thinking quickly, he remembered his Digivice and tried his luck, holding it up to his partner. But for some strange reason, it didn't glow.
"What's going on," Izzy questioned. "It worked well with Tai, Matt, and Sora, why isn't it working for me? Could it be that my Digivice is malfunctioning or defective? Whatever's going on, I've gotta think fast if I'm going to help Tentomon!"
Izzy then started looking at the program inside the battery again. "If only I had my laptop with me, I could decode this program and help out my friend. Oh well, I guess I'll have to figure this out all by myself. Just hang in there Tentomon"
From the distance, Sasuke watched as Izzy tried to decode the program of the giant battery without his laptop. "Looks like he's trying to figure things out all by himself," Sasuke thought. "But I wonder how long his partner will be able to handle my partner."
Sasuke had sealed Izzy's laptop inside one of his scrolls for safekeeping.
One the ground, Izzy took out a scroll he got from Naruto and started writing down the program onto the scroll. Working fast with his marker pen, he was able to decode the program and then suddenly, his Digivice started glowing at last.
"Hey what's going on," Tentomon gasped as he started glowing.
"That's got to be it," Izzy concluded before holding up his Digivice. "We cracked the program…! Now Tentomon…!"
"Tentomon Digivolve to… Kabuterimon," Tentomon had Digivolved into a seven meter (23 foot) tall blue bug. He had a grey head, a pair of Hercules beetle-like horns, a wingspan of nine meters (30 feet), two pairs of equally long arms, a pair of long legs, and no visible eyes, though it could be assumed they were inside some of the holes in his armored head. He was now Kabuterimon.
Sasuke was impressed as he looked up Kabuterimon with his D-Power. "Let's see, Kabuterimon, insect Digimon, champion level, special attack, Electro Shocker."
"So you managed to Digivolve to the champion level," said Aegiomon. "But it'll take more than that to defeat me."
"I couldn't agree more," said Kabuterimon as he picked up Izzy and put him on his head.
Aegiomon then jumped at Kabuterimon and attacked.
"STUN BEAT BLOW…!"
Aegiomon struck Kabuterimon with his Stun Beat Blow attack, sending the giant bug crashing into the wall. Kabuterimon then got back up and took to the air.
"ELECTRO SHOCKER…!"
Kabuterimon fired a ball of electricity at Aegiomon, but Sasuke was quick to react.
"ALMIGHTY PUSH…!"
Sasuke used the Almighty Push to take out the Electro Shocker, much to the surprise of Izzy and Kabuterimon.
"So that guy can control both attractive and repulsive forces," Izzy gasped. "Prodigious, this just keeps getting more and more complicated…!"
"Yeah well it's about to become a little less complicated," said Kabuterimon.
"BEETLE HORN ATTACK…!"
Kabuterimon charged at Sasuke and attempted to impale him with his horn. However, Sasuke reacted quickly.
"ALMIGHTY PUSH…!"
Sasuke used the Almighty push once again, sending Kabuterimon flying into another wall, only this time, he smashed right through it.
Back with the others, Andromon was giving everyone a run for their money. Greymon, Garurumon, and Dorugamon were having trouble handling him while Naruto was able to avoid any harm.
"This isn't working," Naruto thought. "I can't handle this guy without knowing his weak spot. And Greymon, Garurumon, and Dorugamon can't hold him back forever."
Suddenly, Kabuterimon came crashing out of one of the buildings, much to everyone's surprise.
"Who is that Digimon," Sora gasped.
Naruto and Hinata both used their D-Powers, getting the same info as Sasuke.
"Kabuterimon, are you alright," Izzy gasped, letting everyone else know where he was.
"It's Izzy," T.K. gasped.
"What's he doing there," Joe questioned.
"That bug is Tentomon's champion form," Hinata explained.
"So Tentomon Digivolved," Mimi asked.
Suddenly, Sasuke appeared along with Aegiomon, catching Mimi's eyes instantly.
"Well what do we have here," said Sasuke.
"Who's that," Matt gasped.
"It's that guy I saw battling Naruto yesterday," Tai gasped.
"Oh, how handsome," Mimi got hearts in her eyes upon seeing Sasuke.
"So you showed up again, huh, Sasuke," said Naruto.
"Indeed Naruto," Sasuke replied. "Now then, let's get this over with."
Naruto and Sasuke then charged at each other, clashing swords once more. During that, Sasuke slid something into Naruto's pocket without anyone noticing. Moments later, they separated and just in time as Andromon fired another Lightning Blade attack at them.
"We've got to find the weak spot on that thing," said Izzy, noticing that Andromon was still on the loose.
"Leave that to me," Kabuterimon charged at Andromon.
Andromon however caught Kabuterimon and tossed him aside.
"This isn't working," Izzy said in realization. "Hinata, use your Byakugan to find his weak spot…!"
Remembering her Byakugan, Hinata activated it again and found a disorder in Andromon's right leg. "It's in his leg…!"
"Kabuterimon," Izzy called out.
"I'm on it," Kabuterimon prepared an attack again.
"ELECTRO SHOCKER…!"
Kabuterimon fired his Electro Shocker at Andromon's right leg. The moment the attack hit Andromon's leg, he screamed in pain as the Black Gear inside burst out and disintegrated just like the one from Meramon.
"It was a Black Gear," T.K. gasped.
Sasuke then said, "Not bad Digidestined, but if you think it's over, you're wrong."
Sasuke and Aegiomon then disappeared.
Naruto then noticed what Sasuke put in his pocket and took it into his hand, finding it to be a scroll. Opening it up, Naruto noticed a seal symbol in it. Not thinking anything of it, Naruto put it away.
Outside, Sasuke and Aegiomon looked upon the factory, having done their job.
"You did well, Aegiomon," Sasuke told his partner.
"You're the one who pulled off the good part," Aegiomon pointed out.
"Anyway, let's get to Toy Town," Sasuke told him. "Sakura and Lalamon are waiting for us there."
Sasuke and Aegiomon then jumped away.
Back in the factory, Greymon, Garurumon, Dorugamon, and Kabuterimon had reverted back to their rookie forms and Andromon returned to normal.
"Sorry for all the trouble I caused you," said Andromon. "That Black Gear reprogramed my system somehow. I'm normally a nonviolent Digimon."
"You could have fooled us," said Tai.
"No kidding," said Sora.
"I never meant to hurt anyone," said Andromon.
"Don't give it another thought," said Matt.
"I can't answer your questions about how this place came to be or what it's for, but I can be of some help," said Andromon. "The best way to escape from here without those two people noticing you is to follow the underground waterway."
Andromon then pointed to a sewer opening. "The labyrinth begins just beyond this point. But beware of the Numemon."
"Thanks for the help, Andromon," said Tai.
Moments later, they all entered the sewer, Naruto leading the way and Hinata bringing up the rear.
"I know I can do this," said Mimi. "Really I can. If Naruto can manage, then so can I. Okay, ready, set…"
Mimi then jumped out of the passage and into the main sewer line and Hinata followed in suit.
"Okay, that only took four minutes," said Tai. "Let's get out of here."
The group then walked in the direction on the right side of the line.
"Am I the only one who finds strolling leisurely through the sewers just the slightest bit disgusting," said Joe.
"Oh please, Joe, this is nothing," said Naruto. "I've been inside of the bellies of several giant creatures long before I came to the Digital world."
"You're kidding," Sora gasped.
"How did you survive," Tai asked.
Naruto was about to answer Tai's question, but then noticed that Izzy was looking a little bit depressed. "You okay back there Izzy?"
"Not really," Izzy answered. "That Sasuke guy stole my laptop. I had to use one of your scrolls to decode a program that I saw."
Naruto then remembered the scroll in his pocket. Taking it out, he opened it up and used the summoning jutsu on it, and out came Izzy's laptop.
"Prodigious, it's my computer," Izzy gasped. "How did you get it?"
"Apparently, Sasuke sealed it inside this scroll and slipped it into my pocket when I wasn't looking," Naruto answered, giving the laptop back to Izzy.
"I don't know what I'd do without this baby," said Izzy as he turned it on. "Although it's a little slow on being turned back on."
"Just give it a few whacks, Izzy," said Tai. "That'll do the trick."
"Let us try," Agumon joined Tai as they moved in to whack Izzy's laptop.
Izzy avoided the attempt and Tai and Agumon ended up hitting each other on the heads.
"Sorry guys, but a computer is not a toy," Izzy sweat dropped.
"And Sakura calls me an idiot," Naruto thought.
"Now that you boys have holes in your heads, maybe your brains will get enough oxygen," said Sora, feeling embarrassed.
Everyone else laughed, but Naruto didn't really find it amusing. "And I'll bet if you had a hole in your chest, your heart would get enough oxygen."
Sora didn't like that comment at all. "Hey, what's that supposed to mean?!"
Hinata answered, "What he means is that everyone has strengths and weaknesses, and everyone is flawed. Nobody is perfect, but that means you can always improve yourselves on what you can or can't do."
Everyone was silent for a while, then Izzy's laptop was fully on.
Izzy then took the scroll he had and typed the program he wrote down in it onto his computer. What he got as a result was a map of File Island. But before anyone could say or do anything, they all heard a noise in the distance. Hinata checked with her Byakugan and saw multiple creatures coming right at them.
"Uh oh, we've got company," Hinata warned the others, pointing towards the direction the sound was coming from.
Everyone looked and saw multiple green creatures charging right towards them.
"What did Andromon say about the Numemon," T.K. asked.
"We'll worry about that later, run," Tai told the others.
Everyone then ran, as fast as they could, except for Naruto and Hinata. They could have easily outrun the Numemon, but held themselves back, knowing that they would also leave Tai and the others in the dust. As they ran, Hinata checked her D-Power.
"So those are the Numemon, mollusk Digimon, rookie level, special attack, Nume-Sludge," Hinata read on her D-Power. "Believe me you don't want to know what they throw."
The group ran as fast as they could as the Numemon threw Nume-Sludge at them. They continued to run until then came across an exit and made their way down it. Eventually they reached the outside where there was sunlight. The Numemon pursued them, but when they saw the sunlight, they backed off back into the sewer.
"Well that was close," said Dorumon.
"I think you mean that was gross," said Lunamon.
"Whatever, let's get away before they come back," Mimi told everyone.
Everyone then started walking away from the cave. As they walked, Naruto explained that Numemon didn't like the sunlight for whatever reason. They didn't see anything else for miles until they came across what appeared to be a bunch of vending machines.
"There must be thousands of them," said Mimi.
"I'd say under a hundred," said Joe.
"Or maybe just fifty," said Izzy.
"How did they get there," T.K. asked.
"I don't know, but I bet there's enough snacks to last us a lifetime, at least," said Mimi.
"Don't be so sure," said Naruto, being cautious.
"Oh, my Naruto, always looking out for me," Mimi hugged Naruto's hand. "But I've got to see for myself."
Mimi then walked up to the machines, ignoring Naruto's warning. Stopping at what appeared to be a vending machine for soda, Mimi put a coin into the slot, but the machine opened up to reveal the leader of the Numemon.
"Hey cutie pie," said the Numemon.
"It's their leader," said Palmon.
"Their leader," Mimi asked. "He couldn't lead a pack of show poodles, even with his doggy breath."
"Hey let me take you out on a date," said Numemon, mesmerized by Mimi's beauty.
"I think he likes you," said Palmon. "It's gotta be the hat."
"What, what are you thinking," said Mimi. "I like Naruto and maybe that Sasuke guy."
Mimi then shouted, "I wouldn't go near that short, slimey, sewer-sliding, sludge-slinger…!"
"Mimi, you'll make him mad," Palmon warned her.
"Who cares," Mimi replied. "Besides, we're safe in the sunlight."
But Mimi noticed too late that clouds had gathered overhead. "Or we were…"
"How dare you call me sort," Numemon shouted. "The date's off…!"
"NUME-SLUDGE…!"
Mimi and Palmon then started running back to the group as the other Numemon popped out of the other vending machines. Naruto and Hinata didn't seem surprised by this, but the others were.
"How did they get here," Sora questioned.
"They must have found another exit," Naruto deduced. "Now run…!"
Everyone ran from the Numemon.
"Everyone scatter," Hinata told them.
Everyone did just that, each heading off in a different direction with their respective partners.
In one direction, Mimi and Palmon ran into a growth of trees. As they ran, the Numemon continued to threw Nume-Slime at them. Eventually, they hid behind a couple of trees, but Palmon knew that they couldn't hide forever. When the Numemon got close enough, she came out and prepared to attack.
"POISON IVY…!"
But before she could unleash her attack, the Numemon fled back in the other direction, much to Palmon's surprise.
"Palmon, thank you," said Mimi, thinking that Palmon scared the Numemon away.
"But Mimi, I didn't do anything," Palmon explained. "What happened?"
Then as if on que a large foot step was heard from behind getting both of their attentions. Looking back, they saw a large teddy bear.
"It's Monzaemon," Palmon gasped.
"Come visit us at Toy Town," said Monzaemon.
"Palmon, is Monzaemon a Digimon too," Mimi asked.
"Yeah," Palmon confirmed. "He's in charge of a special place called Toy Town, a place where he takes care of all the abandoned Digimon toys and those toys love him."
"Well he looks harmless," said Mimi.
"He always has been," said Palmon.
"I must say, so pleased to make your acquaintance," said Monzaemon.
"MEKARA BEAM…!"
Next thing the two knew, Monzaemon shot lasers from his eyes right out of the blue, forcing the two to flee.
"Acquaintance, he's attacking us," said Mimi.
"You think," said Palmon.
"Please come spend a fun day at Toy Town with me," said Monzaemon as he fired his Mekara Beam at them again.
Mimi and Palmon kept avoiding the attack when something comes out of nowhere and picked them up and carries them into the trees where Monzaemon couldn't see them.
"How about a game of soccer you two," said Monzaemon as he continued to walk through the trees and into the open field.
In the tree, Mimi was all cheeky and said, "Oh Naruto, you saved me. My handsome prince charming…"
Mimi then kissed the person believing that it's Naruto.
"Um actually Mimi, it's me, Hinata," said the person, revealing herself as Hinata.
"Oh," Mimi gasped upon realizing her mistake and laughing awkwardly. "Well, you can go ahead and let Monzaemon take me now."
Palmon and Lunamon both laughed at Mimi's antics.
Out in the field, the other Digidestined were still running from the Numemon when Monzaemon showed up, scaring them off. But just like with Mimi, he then turned on the Digidestined one by one. Naturally, the Digimon tried to fight back.
"PEPPER BREATH…!"
"SPIRAL TWISTER…!"
"SUPER SHOCKER…!"
"BLUE BLASTER…!"
"BOOM BUBBLE…!"
Sadly, none of their attacks had any effect and Monzaemon retaliated.
"HEARTS ATTACK…!"
Monzaemon shot blue hearts at the Digidestined. The moment the hearts hit them, they became incapacitated and along with their partners.
"So all of you will now serve us," said Monzaemon. "You're all going into our community toy box. Our toy box is only filled with children."
In the trees, Naruto and Dorumon both watched as the Digidestined were captured and taken away.
"Monzaemon, a puppet Digimon, ultimate level, special attack Hearts Attack," Naruto read on his D-Power, using it to analyze Monzaemon. "Great, two ultimates in one day."
"This is bad," said Dorumon. "We've got to help them."
"Caution," said Naruto. "If we attack blindly, we'll be captured as well."
"I don't like this one bit, Naruto," Dorumon told his partner.
"Neither do I," said Naruto. "But do you want to get captured?"
"Alright," Dorumon sighed.
"Now, let's regroup with Hinata, Mimi, Palmon and Lunamon," said Naruto. "From the looks of it, Monzaemon hasn't captured them yet. We'll follow Monzaemon into Toy Town and find a way to rescue them."
Naruto and Dorumon then moved to regroup with the others who escaped.
At Toy Town, Sakura, Sasuke, and their partners watched as Monzaemon returned with the children he captured.
"Six Digidestined children and they couldn't hold their own against Monzaemon," said Sakura. "Although, it would seem that the one with the hat escaped along with Naruto and Hinata."
"Yes, it would seem that way," said Sasuke. "We'd better get to work."
"Right," said Sakura. "You take care of the hypnosis process, I'll take care of the girl."
The two and their partners then disappeared as Monzaemon entered Toy Town.
Meanwhile, Naruto and Dorumon regrouped with Hinata, Mimi, Lunamon, and Palmon, much to Mimi's delight.
"Oh Naruto, my love," said Mimi, hearts in her eyes.
Naruto ignored Mimi and focused on Hinata. "Monzaemon took the others!"
"This is bad," said Hinata. "What's he going to do?"
"I don't know, but I have a feeling that we'll get our answers in Toy Town," Naruto answered.
Hinata agreed.
The group then made their way to Toy Town. As they walked, Mimi couldn't help but have some questions for Hinata.
"Excuse me, Hinata," said Mimi.
"What is it, Mimi," Hinata asked.
"Well, what's your relationship with Naruto," Mimi asked.
"Huh," Hinata was confused. "Where did that come from?"
"I've seen you two get… close," Mimi explained. "Are you two, together?"
Hinata couldn't help but blush at Mimi's question. But before she could answer, they arrived at Toy Town.
"We're here," said Naruto.
Mimi and Hinata both looked and saw what appeared to be an amusement park up ahead.
Inside a building, the children were strapped into toy chairs where they waited for something.
"Where are we," said Tai.
"I don't know," said Izzy. "Last time I checked, we were running from the Numemon and then were captured by Monzaemon."
"I get the feeling we're about to find out what'll happen next," said Joe.
Just then, Sasuke arrived. Izzy recognized him right away, but before he could explain what Sasuke is capable of, the Uchiha used his Rinnegan on the group. The Rinnegan's design reflected in their eyes as they were all placed under a genjutsu. As soon as they stopped moving because of that, Sasuke gave them their orders.
In another building, Gomemon, Agumon, Gabumon, Patamon, Biyomon, and Tentomon were all placed into a chest and were locked inside. Why they weren't taken to hypnotized too was unknown.
In Toy Town, the three humans and their partners walked through the streets, only to find that the place looked more disserted than lively.
"Where is everyone," said Mimi.
"I don't like this," said Naruto.
Suddenly moments later, Tai, Sora, Izzy, Matt, Joe, and T.K. were seen running by them, being played with by several toys. Tai was being played with by a toy car, Sora was being played with by monkey, Izzy by toy soldiers, Matt by a train, Joe by a giant toy bird, and T.K. by a toy helicopter. What really got their attention was that they were acting like "zombies", at least that was how Mimi put it.
"What happened with them," Mimi questioned.
"It looks like they've been put under a genjutsu," said Naruto.
"We need to release them," said Hinata.
"But what if Monzaemon catches us," said Lunamon. "If we get caught, we might end up like them."
"Yeah, but where are the other Digimon," said Palmon.
"I'll try and sniff them out," said Dorumon as he tried to sniff the air.
After sniffing for a bit, Dorumon picked up the scent. "This way…!"
Dorumon led the group towards the location where Agumon and the other Digimon were located. They eventually came across a building where they heard Agumon calling out for help.
"Hello," said Agumon. "Can anyone hear us out there? Tai, Matt, hello, hello, hello…! We really need your help. Somebody get us out of here…!"
"That's them," Mimi gasped.
The group then entered the building, unaware that someone was watching them from the sidelines. They then surrounded the chest.
"Agumon, is that you," said Mimi.
"Yes," said Agumon.
"Are all our other Digimon friends in there with you, Agumon," said Palmon.
"Yes," Agumon replied. "We're all in here."
"Well stand back," Naruto told them. "I'm going to break you out of there."
Naruto then prepared a Rasengan and thusted at the lock, breaking it and freeing the other Digimon. The moment the chest was unlocked, Agumon and the others fell out of the chest and onto the ground.
"Are you guys okay," said Lunamon.
"Yeah, I think so," said Agumon.
"Agu, tell us, what changed Monzaemon," said Palmon.
"We don't know," Agumon answered.
"I'll bet it was one of those Black Gears," Dorumon deduced.
Suddenly a voice came in. "It was."
Everyone looked and saw what looked like an Agumon made out of Legos.
"It's a Toyagumon," Gabumon correctly guessed.
Hinta checked it with her D-Power. "Toyagumon, puppet Digimon, rookie level, it's special attack is Plastic Blaze."
"Why is it called a Toyagumon," Mimi asked.
"I think the answer is obvious," said Tentomon.
Agumon got close to Toyagumon and said, "You know, he does kinda look like me if I were made out of Legos."
"Thanks for the compliment," said Toyagumon.
"Who put that Black Gear into Monzaemon," Naruto asked.
"It was a girl with pink hair," Toyagumon answered as he began telling them what happened earlier that day.
Flashback:
Sakura and her clones threw the Black Gears they were holding at Monzaemon, Pandamon and the Toyagumon. One by one, they were all struck by the gears and were put under Devimon's control. In the chaos, one Toyagumon managed to escape as he watched as Sakura gave the others orders.
"Attention everyone," said Sakura, dispelling her shadow clones. "From this day forward, you'll be serving Lord Devimon."
The lone Toyagumon watched in horror as the others obayed Sakura's orders.
End of Flashback:
"As you can see, my friends were taken over by those horrible Black Gears that girl put into us," said Toyagumon.
"That's horrible," Agumon gasped. "We've got to help them…!"
"Hold on you guys," said Naruto. "You can't fight Monzaemon without Digivolving and you can't do that without your partners."
"Maybe not, but we can handle the Toyagumon," said Biyomon.
"Yeah," said the other Digimon.
While reluctant, Naruto and Hinata both knew that the rookie Digimon were right. If what the one Toyagumon mentioned was true, there were many other Toyagumon in Toy Town and they had to save their energy for Monzaemon, Pandamon and, by extent, Sakura and Lalamon.
"Okay," said Naruto. "But we better get moving."
"Well then follow me," said Toyagumon.
The group then went outside and made their way through Toy Town. As they walked through, they passed by T.K. who was still being chased by the same toy helicopter.
"Ha, ha, ha, ha, ha," said T.K. "You can't catch me, you can't catch me. Ha, ha, ha…"
"T.K.," Patamon gasped.
"The others must be in the same state," Gomamon deduced.
"They are," Lunamon confirmed. "We saw them."
Just then, more Toyagumon showed up, all under the influence of the Black Gears.
"Uh oh, we've got company," said the Toyagumon on their side.
"What do you think you're doing," said one of the Toyagumon.
"You're working with the enemy," said another.
"We're not going to be your prisoners," said Agumon.
"We'll see about that," said one of the Toyagumon.
"PLASTIC BLAZE…!"
All of the enemy Toyagumon fired flame-shaped toy missiles at the group. Everyone evaded the attack, but knew that more would be coming. Agumon, Gabumon, Biyomon, Tentomon, Gomamon, and Patamon then took up a fighting stance along with the Toyagumon on their side.
"PEPPER BREATH…!"
"BLUE BLASTER…!"
"SPIRAL TWISTER…!"
"SUPER SHOCKER…!"
"MARCHING FISHES…!"
"BOOM BUBBLE…!"
"PLASTIC BLAZE…!"
The seven rookies attacked the possessed Toyagumon. Because they were all rookies, it was rather easy for the group to fight them without Digivolving. Problem was there were so many Toyagumon fighting them. To combat them better, the Toyagumon assembled themselves together to form a big Lego tank. The tank charged at the group, but Naruto entered Sage Mode and stopped the machine in its tracks. He then punched the tank, sending it flying 15 meters in the opposite direction, causing it to disassemble back into the Toyagumon.
"Now," Naruto called out.
"POISON IVY…!"
Palmon surrounded the Toyagumon with her Poison Ivy, allowing the others to attack the Black Gears imbedded in them.
"METAL CANNON…!"
"TEARING SHOT…!"
"PEPPER BREATH…!"
"BLUE BLASTER…!"
"SPIRAL TWISTER…!"
"SUPER SHOCKER…!"
"MARCHING FISHES…!"
"BOOM BUBBLE…!"
"PLASTIC BLAZE…!"
With that, the Black Gears were forced out of the Toyagumon and were destroyed.
Moments later, Monzaemon showed up with balloons in hand. "It's such a happy day in toy town!"
"Oh no," said Palmon. "Monzaemon!"
"Is everyone okay," said the one Toyagumon to the others.
"Yeah, I think so," said one of the Toyagumon.
"You'll like this," said Monzaemon. "Everyone likes the balloons."
"Forget the balloons, you teddy," Mimi demanded. "Whatever you've done to my friends, fix it now or you'll be in big trouble…! You understand me?!"
But Monzaemon responded with another shot of his Mekara Beam. Fortunately, Naruto blocked it using Kurama's chakra.
"I don't think he's going to cooperate," Naruto told them.
"We have to help stop Monzaemon," said the lead Toyagumon. "Everyone attack…!"
"PLASTIC BLAZE…!"
The Toyagumon all fired their Plastic Blaze at Monzaemon, getting his attention. The attacks didn't do much damage, but their combined might managed to get Monzaemon's attention. While Monzaemon was distracted, Palmon made her move.
"POISON IVY…!"
Palmon wrapped Monzaemon's left arm with her Poison Ivy attack, but Monzaemon brushed it off, sending Palmon flying. Moments later, Monzaemon attacked.
"HEARTS ATTACK…!"
Monzaemon unleashed his Hearts Attack, sending in his blue hearts at the group.
"Quick, intercept them," said the lead Toyagumon.
The Toyagumon then build themselves up to form a Lego wall in front of the group, blocking the blue hearts. At first the wall stood solid, but after several minutes, the pressure of the hearts knocked it down and all the Toyagumon were trapped inside.
"Toyagumon," Mimi gasped.
"Time to take this to the next level," said Palmon. "I maybe a lady, but I'm not a pushover."
Naruto and Hinata were about to tell Mimi what to do, but remembering what Tai, Matt, and Sora told her, Mimi figured it out on her own. "Time to show this Digimon some manners."
Mimi held out her Digivice as it began to glow and Palmon began to Digivolve.
"Palmon Digivolve to… Togemon," Palmon had Digivolved into what appeared to be a six meter (twenty foot) tall cactus with arms and legs, a face that consisted of two holes for eyes and a big hole for a mouth, and wearing boxing gloves. She was now Togemon.
"You're going down, big boy," said Togemon as she punched her two fists.
Mimi was impressed and so were the other Digimon.
Hinata analyzed it with her D-Power. "That's Togemon, a plant Digimon, champion level, her special attack is the Needle Spray."
"You want to dance with me," Togemon taunted as she walked up towards Monzaemon.
Monzaemon just growled as he approached Togemon and Togemon growled back.
"COCONUT PUNCH…!"
"BANG BANG PUNCH…!"
Togemon punched Monzaemon with several powerful thrusts while Monzaemon smacked Togemon multiple times with his paws. The two Digimon then started a boxing match, punching each other in the face over and over. At one point, Monzaemon tried to use his Mekara Beam, but Togemon punched him, knocking him off balance. She then prepared for her own attack.
"NEEDLE SPRAY…!"
Togemon shoot thorns in all directions. Most of them struck the hearts, popping them and setting all the Toyagumon free. Hinata blocked the ones that came at the others using her Protective Eight Trigrams. But then there were those that were sent at Monzaemon, they were about to hit him. But before they could strike, another attack came out of nowhere and destroyed them.
"SUNSHINE BEAM…!"
Togemon's needles were burned off by a surprise Sunshine Beam attack. Everyone looked and saw Sakura and Sunflowmon nearby.
"Nice try," said Sakura.
"Sakura," Naruto and Hinata gasped upon seeing their friend.
"Who are you," Mimi questioned.
"I'm Sakura Haruno," Sakura identified herself. "And I'm afraid I can't let you interfere any longer."
"CHA…!"
Sakura then charged at Togemon and gave her a Tsunade style Falcon Punch, sending Togemon flying into a nearby building, surprising everyone who didn't know her.
"Yikes," Agumon gasped. "She's strong."
"Dangerously strong," said Gomamon.
"You don't know the half of it," said Naruto, remembering his experiences of being on the wrong side of Sakura's fists.
"Why did you do that," Mimi asked.
"Since when did you care about your friends," said Sakura. "You didn't care about that Numemon when you hurt his feelings, and you certainly didn't care about anything except for a certain someone."
Mimi gasped upon realizing what Sakura was talking about. She remembered what she said to the lead Numemon and realized how it hurt his feelings, resulting in the attack that led the group into Monzaemon's trap. She also remembered how much she cared about Naruto, but seemed to refuse to believe that he might be with Hinata.
Togemon then got up and said, "Don't listen to her Mimi…! Sure you messed up, but you're still young…! Everyone makes mistakes…!"
Hearing Togemon say that brought Mimi's spirit back up as she prepared to fight again.
"I'd better get involved," said Hinata as she took out her D-Power and slashed a green card through it.
"DIGIMODIFY…! DIGIVOLUTION ACTIVATE…!"
"DIGIVOLUTION…!"
Lunamon began to Digivolve. "Lunamon Digivolve to… Lekismon…!"
After Digivolving, Lekismon took up a fighting stance and prepared to attack.
"MOON NIGHT BOMB…!"
"MEKARA BEAM…!"
Lekismon fired her Moon Night Bomb at Monzaemon, but Monzaemon countered with his Mekara Beam.
"COCONUT PUNCH…!"
Togemon tried hitting Sunflowmon with her Coconut Punch, but Sunflowmon evaded it and launched her own attack
"CACTUS TAIL…!"
Sunflowmon shot thorns and Togemon by swinging her stem-like tail. The thorns struck Togemon and forced her back. Monzaemon prepared to use his Hearts Attack, but suddenly found himself unable to move. Standing on either side holding his arms were two Lego robots formed from the Toyagumon who regained consciousness.
"Now Togemon," said Mimi.
"Okay then," said Togemon.
"NEEDLE SPRAY…!"
Togemon once again unleashed her Needle Spray attack, striking both Sunflowmon and Monzaemon in the process. This caused the Black Gear in Monzaemon to shout out and fly into the air. I then disintegrated and Sunflowmon dedigivolved back into Lalamon.
Sakura then picked up Lalamon and told them, "You may have won this round, but you won't win the next, so it makes little difference…!"
Sakura then left.
Outside, Sakura reunited with Sasuke and she told him what happened. Sasuke then, for whatever reason, undid the genjutsu he placed on the other Digidestined, snapping them out of their trances and returning them to normal.
"Looks like our work here is done," said Sasuke.
"Indeed," said Sakura.
The two then returned to Devimon's lair.
Later that day as the sun set, Monzaemon apologized to everyone for what happened, promising to never do it again.
"Monzaemon, we know you would never hurt us on purpose," said Tai.
"Of course not," said Monzaemon. "But an evil feeling came over me."
"It had to be that Black Gear," said Sora.
"It was," said the Lead Toyagumon.
"You know, I'm beginning to take this whole Black Gear thing a little personally," said Tai. "They cause a whole lot of trouble before disappearing. Not to mention those Sasuke and Sakura people are always there whenever they appear."
"That's right," said Mimi. "But we made Monzaemon and the Toyagumon good again."
"My friends, there's only one way I can truly show my gratitude, and that's by giving you all a real hard hug," said Monzaemon.
"Oh boy," said Joe, thinking he was going to give them a bear hug.
"Here we go," Monzaemon got on his feet and prepared himself. "This is my gift to you."
"HEARTS ATTACK…! With a hug…!"
Monzaemon shot hearts at the group, but instead of blue hearts, it was red hearts that make others happy. As everyone entered the hearts, they all giggled together, happy that they survived two instances with ultimate level Digimon in a row.
Suddenly the lead Numemon reappeared and said, "Dumpling, now that you're in a better mood, how about a kiss this time?"
"No," said Mimi, this time being more polite.
"Wow, what a girl," said Numemon as he fainted. "She'll come around."
The Toyagumon laughed at Numemon's antics.
As everyone floated inside the hearts, they were all able to relax after a long day of fighting. However, Mimi once again noticed that Naruto and Hinata were rather close once more and could help but wonder if they were closer than she thought.
At Devimon's fortress, Devimon wasn't too pleased to learn that the Digidestined had gotten away again.
"So those Digidestined managed to escape again," Devimon shouted.
"They were stronger than anticipated, sir," Sasuke told Devimon.
"But to be honest, maybe we're doing this the wrong way," said Sakura.
"I beg your pardon," said Devimon.
"We've been setting up traps for the Digidestined left and right and waited for them to come into them," Sakura explained. "Perhaps it's time we changed tactics and actually go on the hunt. We can use the Deva."
"Makuramon," Devimon questioned before realizing what they were talking about. "Yes you're right. Perhaps it is time we go on the hunt."
Devimon then turned his attention to another. "Pandamon, take the Black Gear and hunt down Makuramon."
"Yes, Lord Devimon," said Pandamon, still under the effects of the Black Gear. "I shall go find him right now."
Later that night, the group was still in Toy Town sleeping in what appeared to be a large hotel room. They were all offered this room by the Toyagumon as a way of showing their gratitude after Monzaemon showed his. As they slept, Izzy and Mimi could not help but reflect on the events that happened that day.
"So the Digivices are what cause our Digimon to Digivolve and we each have our own way as to how it occurs," Izzy thought. "Prodigious, I'll have to look into this carefully tomorrow when we set off on our journey again. On second thought, maybe I should try to socialize with the others more."
"I still can't believe what happened today," Mimi thought. "First we get attacked by Andromon and that handsome Sasuke at the factory, then we're chased by Numemon, and finally attacked by Monzaemon and that Sakura girl. On top of that… Maybe I should be more nice when I turn down others who want to date me. What am I thinking, I'm too young to be dating."
Izzy and Mimi then joined the others in sleep.
In his cave, Makuramon was about to get some rest when he found himself having visitors. "Who goes there?"
"It is eye, Pandamon," said Pandamon.
"Pandamon, what are you doing here," said Makuramon.
"As of now, you shall serve Lord Devimon," Pandamon through the Black Gear.
And that was chapter 11. As you can see, the Digidestined battled against Andromon and Monzaemon in their respective homes, Factorial Town and Toy Town respectively. In addition, they encountered Sasuke and Sakura for the first time along with their partners, Aegiomon and Lalamon, and yet for some strange reason, they didn't go all out and tried to kill them. On top of that, there was also a Pandamon and an army of Toyagumon in Toy Town as well as batteries for food at the factory, both like in Frontier. But it looks like Pandamon is still under the effects of the Black Gears.
The next chapter will likely be a cross between two episodes once again just like this one and it looks like Makuramon will have a more active role it as well.
PS: This was the most difficult chapter I've had to write so far and it will only become more difficult as time goes on, so don't be surprised if any chapters from here on in will take at least a week to make.
