Chapter:12 The Truth Burns Bright

Vic looked below to see the finalists of the tournament.

Standing on the arena is Yang, his girlfriend Penny, Pyrrha, Mercury, Sun, and three other competitors standing there.

He looked at Yang, Penny, and Pyrrha in worry since he feel another gut feeling that there is something bad going to happen, especially when he saw how troubled Pyrrha looked.

But he felt assured when he looked up and saw the three bird Pokemons flying above them along with another flyer with the.

It is a purple, bat-like Pokémon with a small, round body. It has long, pointed ears, yellow eyes with red pupils, and a small mouth that usually has its teeth bared. On its body are two pairs of wings: an upper pair that is slightly larger and a lower pair that developed from its legs. Both pairs have green-blue membranes, but the lower pair's membranes are only visible from the back. The upper wings have two claw-like fingers near the middle. On the bottom of its body are what appear to be a pair of stubby feet or tufts of fur.

This is Bacchus the Crobat, Vic and Nora's mother's trusty flyer, and is now owned by Nora since Vic already has a team.

Just hidden in the arena is Seier's Gardevoir, since he felt that she will be useful after what happened to Coco and Yatsuhashi.

The rest of the Pokemons are either sniffing out some intruders or guarding around the area for anything wrong.

He could feel Temari gazing at him from the sky as he knew that they are keeping watch at everything at all cost.

The first match was then Yang VS Mercury as the two fighters are now standing on a empty metal platform as the two faced each other.

Vic looked at them very seriously as he looked for anything strange on the arena.

"Three! Two! One! Fight!" Port called out as Vic quickly looked to the battle.

Immediately, Yang throws a punch, and Mercury spins his foot to meet it, creating a shockwave between the weapons that launches him back. He closes the distance quickly and aims at her feet with Talaria, but she leaps over it and fires off a shot of her Ember Celica that he rotates to avoid. They fight fist-to-fist for a moment, Yang getting in a fiery blast on her opponent at the cost of him also landing a blow on her. She falls back on her feet when Mercury shoots himself into the air to get farther away from her, looking up and smiling.

Yang doesn't relent for a second, launching shot after shot only for Mercury to dodge each of them, sliding around the stage on clouds of air until he attempts to come down on her with his leg. She blocks and pushes away the attack, but he goes under her shotgun burst and manages to land a kick on her, though she still lands in a crouch, now grimacing. She launches forward with a double blast and continues landing blow after blazing blow on him, right up to when he roundhouse kicks her in the back and attempts to hit her with his heel. She gets out just in time and punches he ground trying to get him, but he leaps out and twirls to get a hit on her. One of his kicks seems to pass over her, but then he brings it down hard enough to shatter the steel underneath, which Yang narrowly rolls backward to avoid.

They exchange kicks after this attack until Mercury hits her backwards, and he rushes forward only to receive a fist to his chin, then his torso, knocking him on his stomach. He gets up right as Yang starts raining down fire again, causing him to somersault back until one explosion causes him to get knocked off of the stage. He saves himself by firing his boots downward and flying back in front of his enemy, unleashing a series of kicks that put Yang on the defensive. She ducks under one attack only to receive another as Mercury jumps into the air to knock her back, and he follows it up with a shot from his boots. Yang avoids it effortlessly, not noticing it still hanging around behind her.

Switching tactics, Mercury starts shooting his foot out in every direction, each kick into the air accompanied by a silvery blast that are barely even aimed at Yang. She dodges each one coming her way and gets in close through the circling barrage of shots, fighting with their fists again until Mercury kicks her into the air and knocks her right back to the ground, followed by the dozens of swirling shots that now converge right on to Yang.

When the blasts stop coming down on his opponent, Mercury gets up from his crouch and grins to himself, dusting off his outfit and seeming as happy as can be until the smoke from behind him erupts into flames. His momentary shock turns into another smile as he turns around to see the red-eyed Yang slam her knuckles together and come at him. Screaming, she lands a punch that sends him back, and she rushes up avoiding each kick and even taking one with no effect to pound at him with an unrelenting bombardment of left-right blows. He has enough time to let out a pained groan before she hits him in the stomach, his Aura sparkling up to try and defend him from the last hit to the face by the upset blonde. He lands on his back as the buzzer sounds over the roars of the audience.

"What a way to kick off the finals!" Port commented as Yang began to calm down.

"Yang Xiao Long wins!" Oobleck announced as the crowd cheered.

"Yeah! You did it, sis!" Ruby cheered as she raised her arms to the air.

"Way to go, Yang!" Blake shouted to her partner as Weiss pump her fists.

"Better luck next time," Yang said as she began to leave.

Vic could've sworn that he heard a sharp sound coming from nowhere, but it was followed by a burst of Aura.

Vic and everyone then saw Mercury was about to kick at Yang with her back wide open until a large figure quickly swoop in to intervene.

It was Alpha the Pidgeot and he was clutching at the shock Mercury's left leg.

"Hey let go of me!" Mercury yelled as he flail his arm around in terror.

Vic smiled victorious at the scene in front of him.

He knew the burst came from Seier's Gardevoir as she was the older female trainer's powerful Psychic type Pokemon and no tricks could fool the Embrace Pokemon.

Alpha then threw Mercury to the air and was caught by Fox as the Predator Pokemon did the same as Alpha and threw Mercury again, and is followed by Temari then by Bacchus.

The Bat Pokemon then drop Mercury to the battlefield with a loud thud as the silver haired teen groan in pain while the four Flying types began to surround him.

Port and Bart then decided that Mercury is disqualified for having bad sportsmanship, and is being dragged away by some guards with the trainer's flyers flying towards back to the sky.

Everyone were relieved from the save the four Flying type Pokemons did, but a black haired teen, the same one that glared at Vic at Beacon, was glaring to the three birds and bat.

The matches continued to progress with Pyrrha, Penny, Yang, and some others advance to the next matches.

But Vic feel something bad coming to Vale, very very soon.

It was now time for a break for the tournament as Vic is currently walking around Beacon with Kakashi and Bunta walking with him as he thought of planning on getting some papers when the time he wanted to send Penny some letters.

"Do you think Goodwitch would let me borrow some if I ask?" Vic ask his two Pokemons.

The two looked at each other and could only shrug since they don't have any problems with the blonde deputy since they always go to a nearby forests to relax when they aren't being sent to Team CFVY to be taken care of and not in battle.

"Well might as well try I guess," Vic said as he thought of another thing.

What to give Nora on her birthday.

But his train of thoughts were put in a halt when he saw Pyrrha running away and wondered why.

Kakashi barked at his trainer as the shades wearing teen knew what he meant.

"Let's follow her," Vic said as Vic quickly jump on Bunta and they began to chase Pyrrha.

They then saw the redhead went for a tight turn as the three kept chasing them till they saw her took a breather, but was confused when they saw her cry.

Vic dismounted off of Bunta as he slowly walk to the redhead Champion.

Vic then placed his hand on the Champion's shoulder as she jump in surprise and she look back to see the younger Champion.

"What are you doing here Vic?" Pyrrha asked with fresh tears in her eyes.

"Seeing you running away and now seeing you here crying made me worry," Vic said as Pyrrha flinch.

"Was that obvious?" Pyrrha asked then blush in embarrassment when she saw him nod.

Pyrrha then sat down on a nearby bench as Vic followed suite with Bunta and Kakashi standing by their side.

They then watch the sun beginning to set as Vic decided to broke the silence.

"So what's wrong?" Vic asked as Pyrrha hesitantly look to him.

"Vic do you believe in destiny?" Pyrrha asked as Vic thought about it and looked to the orange skies.

"Well no actually," Vic answered as Pyrrha look at him for more answers. "Destiny, fate, and all of that philosophical terms are just that. Our lives isn't a straight path nor is made by the time we are born. We make our own path cause we believe that we can change the world."

"So you think that you aren't bound by destiny?" Pyrrha asked as Vic shrug.

"Maybe I am or maybe I am not. While back in my world, we make our own destiny not by others," Vic said as he stood up and left Pyrrha thinking of the things he said. "Remember you are Pyrrha Nikos, the Champion of Mistral, because you chose to become that same woman today."

Vic then finally left with his two Pokemons as Pyrrha looked to the sky.

"Make my own destiny," Pyrrha muttered as she felt slightly more relieved .

In was now time for the next match as Vic sat on his seat with his friends with him.

He looked to the sky to see only Fox, Temari, and Bacchus since Alpha has much more of a brighter colored body than the other three.

He looked to his right and saw Kakashi sniffing the area around for intruders as the Discharge Pokemon is looking around vigilantly.

"Alright, it's now time to begin the randomization process for our next fight!" Oobleck announced as the roulette system kept going.

"It looks like our first contender is... Penny Polendina, from Atlas! And her opponent will be... Pyrrha Nikos, from Beacon!" Port announced as the crowd began to cheer.

Vic meanwhile was feeling a bad feeling in his gut, but much worse. He just hope that the added measurements were enough.

He then saw the two fighters on the empty battlefield as Pyrrha still looked hesitant while Penny greeted her.

Behind him were his friends cheering for Pyrrha, but he couldn't see Ruby any where and felt the feeling worsen.

"I'm gonna go get some fresh air," Vic said to his friends as he stood up.

"Be sure to be here in time," Weiss said.

"Don't worry I will," Vic said as he left the seats and went for one of the tunnels.

Vic look around and let out a sharp whistle, Kakashi came over by his side, and he have Sol Valor ready in hand since he always hides it in his backpack for emergencies.

Vic and Kakashi then sneak around for anything as he heard the match starts, but continues to ignore it for confirming his hunce of his gut.

It was then followed by the slashing of steel but he continued forward.

He then heard fighting nearby and quickly ran with Kakashi beside him to go to another tunnel, and saw Ruby fighting Mercury.

"Ruby!" Vic called out to the redhead as she block a kick from Mercury.

Ruby saw him when she turn around and said, "The match isn't randomize! It was all planned out!"

Vic then remembered that Pyrrha's Semblance is Polarity, which is magnetism, which means Penny is in grave danger.

Vic then glared at Mercury with Sol Valor at hand as the multipurpose staff let out its spear tip.

"You messed with the wrong Champion," Vic threatened as Kakashi growled beside him with electricity surrounding the Discharge Pokemon.

"Well come on then you brat," Mercury taunted as the two Hunters-in-Training plus Pokemon charge in to fight their new enemy.

Back in the battlefield, Pyrrha spins wildly as she deflects and dodges each sword, until she gets close enough to Penny to deliver a few slashes with the spear, sending her flying back as Pyrrha bats aside the blades called to their wielder's aid. Penny slides to a stop and makes a new series of motions, the weapons folding up until she's circled by several laser rifles, a few of which open fire on the approaching champion. Pyrrha avoids the blasts and fights off the remaining swords with her blade until she slides into position to charge at Penny and knock her back. Pyrrha straightens with a victorious grin that disappears into dizziness, just as she sees Penny rocketing forward, weapons firing behind her like a jetpack so she can leap into the air, then come down as an energized meteor on her opponent.

Rolling back to her feet, Pyrrha doesn't expect a sword to knock her shield off, then another to do the same for her blade. She tries to get the latter back with her magnetism, but has to use the power to send a flying sword back at Penny's side. It disappears behind Penny, only for her to grin and raise her arms as several appear above her, aimed to strike.

She then heard a sharp sound, but a energy burst suddenly blast the area which nullified something that followed the noise.

Pyrrha continued forward till she heard the noise again but followed by a stronger burst of energy which slowly hurting her head.

Penny continued to attack with Floating Array as Pyrrha manuever them away.

Penny then tried to overwhelm the Champion till she heard the same noise again, and was followed by a stronger energy burst that surprised her from the power it caused and suddenly over exerted her use on his Semblance and Floating Array was sent back to Penny.

The wiring of the disguised android's weapon drew closer to her in full speed as she gasp when one of them wrapped around her shoulder to her waist.

It was quickly intervened by a very fast blur that cut through the wires, which revealed to be Temari, but the cutted wire whipped at Penny and cut off her left arm for the world to see.

Ruby, Vic, and Kakashi came out of one of tunnels as they look in shock to see that Penny was exposed publicly, and they feel fell on their news but they were slightly relieved.

The levitating arena is lowered back into place under the spotlights, and Mercury appears behind the shock Ruby and Vic, grinning widely at his success in delaying them before stepping back into the Colosseum's maintenance area. Ruby tenses slightly as she hears his footsteps, but slumps forward once again as the door noisily swings shut.

"Broadcast, what are you doing? Kill the feed!" Bart shouted at a headphone on his head that let him talk to the broadcast operator. He listened carefully and was in shock. "What!? How is that possible!?"

In answer, the background behind the two teachers changes to the video feed of the sight before them, tinted an ominous bright red with a black queen chess piece hovering over the scene. They turn back to the arena as a female voice Vic couldn't recognize rings out throughout the Colosseum and the rest of the world watching these events.

"This is not a tragedy. This was not an accident. This is what happens when you hand over your trust, your safety, your children, to men who claim to be our guardians, but are, in reality, nothing more than men. Our Academies' Headmasters wield more power than most armies, and one was audacious enough to control both," The voice said as Vic saw everyone becoming uneasy.

Ironwood, realizing who she's talking about, grimaces and rises from his seat, marching up the steps.

"They cling to this power in the name of peace, and yet, what do we have here? One nation's attempt at a synthetic army, mercilessly torn apart by another's star pupil. What need would Atlas have for a soldier disguised as an innocent little girl? I don't think the Grimm can tell the difference."

Back in the fairgrounds, a gaping Weiss Schnee and Blake Belladonna watch the hacked screen of the Shopkeep's stall. The owner and several others including Roy Stallion are gathered nearby. Blake's expression becomes a glare as the speech continues.

The Pokemons nearby heard this and they began to gather in the battlefield.

"And what, I ask you, is Ozpin teaching his students? First a dismemberment, now this? Huntsmen and Huntresses should carry themselves with honor and mercy, yet I have witnessed neither."

Vic glared at the screen as his grip on Sol Valor tightened as few flames appear on his shoulders. How dare whoever it was speaking have the utter guts to say that Penny was just a machine.

"Perhaps Ozpin felt as though defeating Atlas in the Tournament would help people forget his colossal failure to protect Vale when the Grimm invaded its streets. Or perhaps this was his message to the tyrannical dictator that has occupied an unsuspecting kingdom with armed forces. Honestly, I haven't the slightest clue as to who is right and who is wrong. But I know the existence of peace is fragile, and the leaders of our kingdoms conduct their business with iron gloves."

Vic began to snarl as the flames on his shoulder grew in size.

"As someone who hails from Mistral, I can assure you the situation there is... equally undesirable. Our Kingdoms are on the brink of war, yet we, the citizens, are left in the dark."

Vic could see the negative emotions the audience are exerting and was not hoping at what comes next.

"So I ask you: When the first shots are fired... who do you think you can trust?"

Vic had enough and used his Semblance's power boost, and threw Sol Valor at the screen and shattered it by pieces.

Everyone were quite shock at what just happened, but the Professors must focus at the task at hand.

"The feeds are all jammed! We can't get a message out!" Bart shouted as Port.

"Will somebody tell me what in the world is happening!?" Port called out to the people behind the scenes.

The question is answered with the sound of a wailing alarm throughout the structure, with humans and Faunusand even a Henchman holding a tub of popcorn looking up in alarm at the orange flashing screens reading "CAUTION".

"Alert. Incoming Grimm attack. Threat level: Nine. Please seek shelter in a calm and orderly manner," A assuring voice tried to calm the people, but all of them began to panic and were heading to the exits.

Ironwood enters the announcers' box and grabs the microphone from between Port and Oobleck.

"Ladies and gentlemen, please. There is no need for panic," James tried to assure them.

But Lady Luck wasn't with his side and a Giant Nevermore appears atop the arena's domed force field, giving a series of deafening screeches as it claws and pecks at the defense with its beak.

"A Nevermore!?" Sun shouted in shock as he stand up off his seat.

"How did it get past the Kingdom's defenses!?" Coco shouted as she lowered her shades to get a better view and stand up as well.

"It wasn't alone," Ren said as he also stand up.

Vic could only stood there with a burning rage in his soul as his flames grew more larger.

The Battle of Beacon has begun.

Pokemon Study: Abilities

5 days before the battle could ever happen yet; everyone is in Shori and Seier's class again for another lesson.

"Alright everyone, we are talking about Pokemon Abilities," Shori said as a student raised a hand.

"What is an Ability?" The student asked.

"Well Abilities are passive skills that Pokemons possess during battles," Shori answered.

"There are only 260 Abilities existed but are trying to discover more," Seier said as everyone sigh in relief from the small number.

"Some Abilities can actually support Pokemons during battle while some doesn't help at all," Shori said.

"Example are the three main Abilities of the three Starter Pokemons that trainers will use in their journey; Blaze, Overgrow, and Torrent, these three moves boosts the attack power of the same type of the move if the Pokemon's health is above half health. Victor's Swampert has Torrent, Shori's Venusaur has Overgrow, and my Infernape has Blaze."

"Other Abilities like my Raichu, Voltus, has an Ability that can cause status conditions."

"There are also Abilities that lowers or increses stats like my Luxray, my Staraptor and Shori's Gyarados has Intimidate, which lowers the Attack stat."

"There are also Abilities that needed certain conditions to work like my Victreebel and Vic's Vileplume has Chlorophyll, that needed the effects of Sunny Day to boost their speed, while Seier's Leafeon has Leaf Guard, needed it as well to protect it from status."

"Some Abilities also nullifies Moves from the opponent. Victor's Exploud has Sound Prood which nullifies sound based Moves, Shori's Rapidash has Flash Fire which absorbs Fire type attacks for a power boost, Shori's Pidgeot has Keen Eye which nullifies Moves that lowers accuracy, and my Golduck's Damp completely stops Self-Destruct and Explosion."

"There also Abilities that either use or nullifies status conditions. The only example we have is Vic's Swellow and Machamp's Guts, which increase their Attack stat if they either got poisoned, burned, or paralyzed."

"But there are some Abilities that are completely useless in battles that really hold back the Pokemon's true capabilities. Like a Slaking's Truant that it needed to slack around before it could even use its dangerous power."

Vic flinched when that certain Pokemon was notified.

"There also Abilities that only works if there are two of your Pokemons in battle, an example of it is Plus and Minus, which will not take effect if the two opposites aren't in battle with each other."

"There are still a lot of Abilities, but you kids still need to finish that assignment we gave you before," Seier said as she glared at the students as they tried to make themselves smaller to avoid her wrath.

That assignment was too freaking long.

"Well we'll let you continue it today as we have another assignment after this," Shori said.

"And you need to pass it today," Seier said with utmost seriousness as the students scrambled on their feet as some quickly grab their sheets while some ran out of the room to grab it in their dorm rooms, but Vic was the only one finished.

Shori and Seier looked at the madness before them as Shori look at his female friend and said, "You are kinda being harsh you know."

"Am I really?" Seier asked but Shori felt an unnoticed threat from that.

"O-Of course not," Shori stuttered.

"Good," Seier said with finality as they looked back at the students.

RWBY Chibis: VTR version

Christmas Special

C. Vic is currently in his room doing his homework as snow is falling outside of Beacon and Christmas decorations were displayed outside.

Sleeping beside his desk is C. Bunta as the large amphibian is now resting for the cold season since he doesn't like the cold much.

C. Vic is excited for this time of year since he now has a lot of friends to finally celebrate happily for once.

He only has his caretaker and bestfriend back in his world, C. Team CFVY and the Staff before he could study in Beacon, but now he can join along with his friends.

C. Vic then heard someone knocking on his door as he stood up and walk over to it.

He then open it up to see C. Team RWBY, C. Team JNPR, C. Team CFVY, C. Sun and C. Neptune, C. Shori and C. Seier, and C. Penny standing outside his room.

"What are you guys doing here?"C. Vic asked in shock.

"We're celebrating with you silly," C. Ruby said as C. Vic continued to look in shock.

"Yeah we are, and I'm gonna do it with my little brother," C. Nora said as she gave C. Vic a hug, and he began to cry in joy.

"Because we are a big family," C. Shori said as he and Seier also hug Vic.

"Group hug!" C. Yang shouted as everyone join along with the hug as C. Blake and C. Weiss were a little hesitant.

C. Vic accepted the warmth they are giving out as his Semblance suddenly activated and he was lit on fire, but he wasn't hurt.

Except for the others.

Everyone are now screaming or rolling on the ground with flames on their clothing as they feel the pain from C. Vic's fire.

C. Bunta heard their distress and put the fire out by using a smaller Surf that completely drenched them.

Everyone were now shivering from their drenched clothes and the cold air coming from outside.

On that day, they made sure to never make Vic too emotional.

2nd Omake end

So that is it for this chapter and I am excited for it.

This might be the only series I can do perfectly without having to look for some parts in other author's stories since I never watched my favorite series from the beginning and end.

Good thing that this is slow to update, so I don't have to worry about outrunning the RWBY series. Because it really takes me a long time for me to make a different part of the story.

Also I am asking for help with people being a Beta Reader for my stories since I want them to check for some parts they want to add in it.

And lastly, online classes sucks cause I'm very focused on my stories.

Vic out and Merry Christmas.
