I give Kikyo a scene here and I worked really hard on it so can I get some thoughts on it please?
I have an idea to make another series later, of a legacy to Shiori who has a jewel with a fraction of the Blood Coral Crystal's power in it, and gets into a bad accident that forces that power into her reviving her demon blood so she has to feed on demon blood to survive... she gets barrier powers I think and some physical boosts and is given a sword from Totosai that binds and controls her demonic powers.
Thoughts?
"What are we going to do about her?" Brian kept his tone low as he looked at Kikyo, still weakened and slowly absorbing souls through her soul collectors. The women creeped him out, there was just something about her that felt wrong to him. He couldn't pinpoint it. Maybe it was because she was actually dead, or that she lived on the souls of others? Who knew really, he just knew that whatever it was it left him feeling all sorts of wrong.
Inuyasha turned to him, a scowl on his face. "What do you mean do about her?"
"I can taste the tension since she was saved, she makes everyone but you uncomfortable and from the little you have told me about her I can't see her getting along with the rest of us. Well I wouldn't mind, since I have no vested interest for or against her... and there is the matter of making sure she's okay which was my real point."
His friend frowned a little. " Oh... um... She's fine, she just needs more souls."
"Then what? Is she staying, going... what is going on with her in general?"
"I... I don't know."
"That's fine." Smiling at Inyusha reassuringly, he stood up and walked over to Kagome. " I think I should teach you how to make a barrier. If you knew how to make one it would have made everything easier when we were at the Mountain. You could have protected us all from the Miasma or stopped it from affecting any of us with Demon essences."
The pretty girl nodded shyly. "I guess so..."
"It's actually pretty easy, just focus your power into your bow for a second and project it out as a barrier." Sitting down, he held out his hands and focused on his own spiritual power, pitiful though it was especially next to Kagome's powers. He pulled on the Chi in his tissues, and slowly a silvery light gathered around his hands. "Gather in radiance, protective hands of the Goddesses." Slowly the magic swirled around before combining to create a small orb. He felt a sliver of sweat trickle down his forehead, pushing against him coldly. "It's not that hard. You have so much innate power you could probably make a barrier and keep it up in your sleep. We have to focus on it to keep it up and even then it's hard. Chi barriers are better at blocking physical things then Spirit barriers but not as good as blocking out magic or being specific to demons or humans like other types of magic.
Now channel the power into your bow or into your hands and focus on making it a sphere. Just the image of it, the shape and the equal distribution of power. If you struggle we can use a Sutra to start. You can channel the magic through a written spell, that is easier for me to use when making stronger barriers though my Staff is the best medium."
Kagome nodded, reaching out with her own power. Slowly her hands started to glow a soft purplish pink. " Like this?" She let out a soft breathe and slowly a perfect blue barrier appeared in between her hands, though he could see her hands shaking with the effort. "I did it!"
"Yes you did, I told you, you have a shit ton of potential. Now make it bigger, focus on your breathing and emotional control. Like with healing, it's all about focus and channeling a consistent amount... unless you want to make a larger barrier then you just create and hold it with a specific value based on how strong you want it. How long can you keep it up?"

From her place on the tree, gathering souls in her hallow frame, Kikyo could not help but feel impressed with Kagome. With no real substantial training the girl was already able to make a barrier strong enough to manifest on a physical level. Much as she disliked the girl, she had to admit, she had talent and a lot of it. She would become a force to be reckoned with in the future. Kikyo could sense the potential for greater power then she herself wielded...
'Not that it matters, I must depart before she calls more of my soul then she already has.'
As subtly as she could, she stood and moved away from the others, who were watching Kagome creating her barrier. She made it maybe ten feet before Inuyasha was at her side, eyes filled with love and worry.
"You are leaving already..."
"I must be. I cannot stay here, you know this." She turned to Kagome, who was now looking at her as was everyone else. She didn't need to say anything else, she knew they wouldn't understand her, not as she needed them to. They loved the girl too much, and that meant they would forever undervalue Kikyo's needs. It was just how it was, how it had been and would continue to be.
"Please, don't... don't go." Inuyasha's words, pathetic as they were, struck a cord in her heart and she mourned for him the loss of what once bound them, what still bound them in many ways.
"I am free to do as I wish, I will not stay. Fare well Inuyasha." Her soul collectors gathered around her, her spiritual energy infusing her false flesh, allowing her teleport elsewhere, to the temple she had recently called home. It would be a long journey but one she needed, she could not be here any longer.
She could not be in the presence of Kagome any longer, or Inuyasha's, not knowing his love was shared between them. Not feeling the pull of Kagome's spirit on her soul.
This was not her place, this was of the present and future, this was not for a being of the past as she was.

It was a sad thing, seeing Inuyasha's heart break like it did. He may not know Kikyo but the love Inuyasha had for her was clearly etched into every feature on his handsome face. He wondered why Kikyo refused to stay, why she did not want to be with her past lover... it made little sense to Brian but he knew it was not his business...
"What are we going to do now? I mean Naraku has a body back, and it is likely stronger then before since he made it from a Kodoku demon. I am assuming we are just going to go after the Jewel shards again?"
The group was silent in a pained sort of way, but eventually Inuyasha nodded. " That is all there is left to do. We can't find him, so we have to find the Jewel shards before he does. We'll eventually run into him eventually as it is."
"Good idea... " He turned back to Kagome. "I guess we can continue working on your barriers as we walk. They will really come in handy in the near future, I can just feel it. Your making great progress you know, you just have a knack for this kind of sorcery."
The Priestess smiled brighter then the dreary sun above them. "Thanks! I live to impress."
"You do that well then... which reminds me, Inuyasha, it's your turn to start learning to control your spiritual power! You did promise me."
The handsome boy groaned. " Do I have to?"
"Yup! I want this group to be as strong as possible, I rather like you all and would rather you not die because you were unprepared." He smiled at the dog demon, hiding the wickeder smirk he wanted to unleash on them all. 'Of course the safer you are, the more tied to me you are the more likely you are to protect me and help me rid myself of this curse. Plus if Kagome is incapable of healing me, I can always make a wish on the finished jewel to heal myself, and I am more the willing to do that. Really it is quite simple, you are a means to an end even if I like you all.' His chest burned, almost as if a reminder of the force sealed away in his skin.
The most recent embarrassment of being pulled into the Fuko spell had reminded him of the burden he had, though unintentionally, forgotten. He was bound to a fate that he would not and did not want. He was not in a safe adventurous place, but an era filled with danger, death and destruction. He had gotten cocky with his magic and his new skills. He had forgotten himself and his purpose here... why he learned magic in the first place. It wasn't to have fun, or even help people but to save himself from a fate that he had never been able to fix on his own.
Helping them meant helping himself but he would not forget that to do so might require taking more from them then they were willing to give... and that was okay with him.
He just couldn't allow himself to forget that again.
He was here for survival... by any means necessary.

'A new boy... what could he want? What powers does he have? I have nothing on him, he could be a problem.' Naraku thought, keeping his voice low. He was still under the guise of the Lord of the Castle, it was best that his servants did not know who he was just yet. They still had their uses for him for the time being. 'I have done nothing against him... but I have to learn what he is capable of, less he becomes that force that destroys me.'
Yanking out a hair, Naraku twines it around the puppet in his hand, feeling his aura connecting to it.
'He is human that much is clear... I can test them myself and lead them into a trap. The Forest of Illusory Death will do quite nicely. I can even take the shards from the girl, stripping much of their power and finally having the power to create incarnations. Yes,... that will work. They will follow my demon puppet, following a shard I place in it until they walk right into my trap. Simple but brilliant.'
He grasped the half of the Shikon Jewel he had in his possession and focused on it's power, feeling it send a surge of strength into his very soul. Swirling his fingers together, collecting his essence into a cloud of power, he focused on the energy and uttered a short chant. The power condensed, slowly morphing until a small sapling was in his hand.
Raising his hand up, he summoned his Insects. " Plant this in the forest near the mountain where I cast my Fuko spell. Take my puppet with you as well. Do not allow the monk to use his Wind Tunnel and lead them into the forest."
Standing, he watched as they obeyed, taking the cursed sapling far into the sky and off into the distance. His trap had been set, all that was left was to play his part...
And that is something he would do with great pleasure.
Chapter end, tell me what you think in the reviews
Shorter then I would like but I am having trouble deciding what to do without Kikyo being captured as it was actually huge when she stole the Shards from Kagome. They allowed Kaguya and Kanna to exist...
Love, your Ninja Overlord,
Mika.
