CHAPTER 10: DESTINY FROM AVALON.
(POV: Hunter)
At the forest, Thomas had just found me and I was now clashing swords with him. He had knocked me into the trees for a time, broke my sword, and was winning! All this bull-crud of me losing to a pathetic pip-squeak like him really annoys me. However, what was worse than Thomas being able to kick my butt, was the fact that I was actually scared of him and I hated it! As I then darted off to try to get away from him, my heart was pounding and I was breathing heavily because I just wanted him off my tail.
"This forest is hard to navigate." I thought. "I'll be sure to lose him in it!"
As I then got deeper and deeper into the forest, I smirked because I thought that my plan was working out. However, right when I was leaning against a tree, catching my breath, I heard fast footsteps before a blade swung by me, almost reaching me.
"What?!" I asked with rage. "How were you able to find me?!"
"Here's a tip doofus." Thomas said with the tone that I hate. "Don't strike your target with your favorite dagger while his or her allies are alive."
As I then looked over at Thomas's belt, I spotted a glowing red dagger that I knew all too well.
"So dad found a tracking spell of some kind and then used it to turn my dagger as a tracking device. Clever."
"Yeah." Thomas replied with a smirk. "So the jig is up Hunter. I broke your sword, I can track you, and you can't escape. It's over."
"Oh, but it hasn't even started yet!" I said as I then went to retrieve my rightful weapon.
(POV: Thomas)
As Hunter then kicked me, I fell to the ground and dropped his crimson dagger that was glowing brightly. As I then got back up Hunter grabbed it and sneered as he walked closer to me.
"Oh my pathetic little brother." He said to me. "You're indeed correct about one thing. Bloodlust here is my favorite weapon and allow me to show you why."
Then without warning, Hunter's dagger suddenly glowed brighter and brighter until it grew into a sword.
"What?!" I remarked
"Surprising isn't it? My 'dagger' is actually a bloodthirsty sword that was dormant." explained Hunter. "Now that it's back in my hands and fully awakened, I now have the power to make you suffer!"
Then Hunter began to fight me again, knocking me back into the ground and trees. Then when I attempted to block a massive strike from Hunter, I was then thrown back over 40 yards with both of my swords completely shattered. As I then began to black out, I saw Hunter getting closer and closer to me. Then my eyes closed and found myself alone and drowning in with nothing to stop me. The place had nothing, but darkness, and I was alone. As I continued to drown, my questions echoed throughout this mysterious place.
"Is this my punishment for thinking I can protect everyone that's dear to me?" I asked myself. "Is this my reward for thinking I'm strong enough to win against Hunter even though I'm not?"
"Are you going to give up? Are you going to give up?!"
As I heard this new voice, I looked over and saw a man whom I didn't recognize. His hair was gold, his eyes blue, and he wore royal blue attire with golden accents. As I saw him, I didn't think much, except for that he was very unfamiliar.
"No." I answered his question. "I'm facing reality."
"Then, you are giving up." He said as he stepped closer to me. "To a foe that you'd vowed to defeat."
"What choice do I have?!" I exclaimed. "Hunter's got a legendary sword for crying out loud! Which he clearly used destroyed my only blades!"
"Then, that will be his downfall, Thomas Howard Billinton." He said as he looked at me. "Your true potential and destiny still lies ahead. This fight is nothing like the ones you'll later face. As the child of Avalon, it's your duty to finish what I couldn't."
I was about to give a doubtful reply, until a certain word from the man's dialogue made my eyes widen with shock.
"Avalon?!" I gasped. "That means you're..."
"Awaken Thomas." He said to me. "Finish this fight!"
Then as I saw the man again, this time seeing the crown on his head, I KNEW who this was.
(POV: Mysterious Narrator.)
As Hunter stepped closer and closer to his brother, he had a massive grin on his face for this moment was one he was waiting for as he then readied to slash Thomas dead.
"Farewell brother!" Hunter said as he then swung his sword.
"KLINK!" went the blade as it then suddenly stopped midway.
As Hunter then looked on shocked, Thomas stood up on his two legs and scowled, as he pushed the crimson sword out of his left hand, and had golden energy sparks within his other.
"Don't think you have won, Hunter." Thomas said as he coughed out blood. "I won't die THAT easily."
"Pah!" Scoffed Hunter. "I have bloodlust! I can finish you in an instant!"
"Don't get cocky lazy tomato." Thomas said with a cheeky smirk. "Cause I have just one word for you."
"And what would that be?!" Hunter asked indignantly.
However, as he got ready to say his answer, the sparks within Thomas's right hand suddenly formed into a golden sword that had an overall length of 41 inches and a blue handle and hilt. As Hunter saw it, his eyes widened in fear, as Thomas's eyes revealed to have golden stripes within them. Considering that he was big into animes, especially one of a deadly game of mage masters and ghostly servants, this one reference that Thomas said was to be expected.
"EXCALIBUR!" Shouted Thomas as he executed a downward slash.
"BOOM!"
As the dust then settled, the powerful attack that Thomas had done left a crater in front of him, with no sign of Hunter. As Thomas then exhaled, he fell backwards and passed out.
(To be concluded...)
