"...and he is just the dreamiest dog ever."
Danielle listened to Collette with great interest. Her sister was rambling on about Meelus. She maintained interest until something popped up in her mind.
"Where's Annette?"
Collette frowned at being cut off so suddenly. "I dunno. What does it matter?"
"Well she does keep disappearing in the day and we only see her at night." Danielle responded, with a hint of worry in her voice.
Collette rolled her eyes in Annette's fashion. "I'm sure she's just fine. Now if you're done worrying about pointless things, I say we should go find Meelus."
Hesitating for only a second, Danielle readily agreed and they were off together.
Annette peeked over the tall grass in anticipation.
Her paws were tense as she waited for any sign of Killian. Ever since she gave him the left over turkey, they met up everyday. She much preferred his company over that of her sisters. In the time that she spent with him she learnt how to really have fun. While her sisters would rather spend the day talking about Meelus, she now spent her days playing with Killian around the abandoned blue house.
"Gotcha!" All of a sudden she found herself pinned down in the grass. "You're it!"
Killian took off in a fast run, while she sprang up to her feet and gave chase. "I'm going to get you."
"I'd like to see you try!" Annette thought she saw him smirk as he looked over his shoulder at her. She continued to chase him, eventually cornering him at a wall.
She slowed her pace. "No where to go now."
He ran straight at her, but she was ready and pounced first.
She looked down at her pinned friend. He wriggled and squirmed playfully, trying to break free. "Alright you win! You win! Now let me up."
Annette let him up and Killian immediately shook out his fur. She sat there for a moment smiling at him. Then without warning he nuzzled her gently with his nose. She breathed in harshly, but then let a soft exhale escape.
"It's getting pretty late." He whispered into her ear. "I should probably take you home now."
She nodded. "You should, there's just one more thing."
"What's that?"
And suddenly he was scrambling to chase after her again.
