It has been a week and the land is suffering a torrent of snow for a couple of weeks. Snow may mean troubles on the tracks. On the homestead it is a totally different atmosphere. What is happening now that the new year will bring once the weather warms up once again. Let us read on and find out, shall we?

I do not own any part to Thomas the tank engine and friends, my little pony – Friendship is magic, nor that of Tugs the television series. They are owned by their respective companies while other characters were the creations of Pinkninjaprime, BWF4life, and blackboard26.

Raging snows. Part 1. preparations

It was a cold winters day on the island of Sodor and school was let out for the day, a heavy snowstorm forecasted for the Island. Thomas is wasting no time in preparing for the onslaught of the storm. Heading out to the feed lot with Toby and Percy making sure the animals are safe in the animal barns.

Percy. "Come on cows! You need to be somewhere warm and safe."

Thomas. "Nugget, Diamond lets go you lot. You and the herd need to be sheltered from this storm we are in for."

The animals wasted no time of getting settled in for the next two days for the animal's warmth and security. Not taking any chances of any dangers from the cold blowing weather.

Toby. "That's, it every critter of the homestead, you all need to be kept safe from this weather that has been forecasted for the next few days."

Each animal trotted and corralled into the barns and stalls meant for the various animals on the homestead while the chickens and ducks are safe in their houses, and even the puppies are safe from the storms.

Percy. "Alright Thomas that is the last of our animals needing shelter from this snowstorm."

Toby. "All there is to do now is to make sure everyone of the animals are fed, that means bringing in much needed hay and feed for the sheep, Pigs, Rabbits."

Thomas. "Oh, ah Oliver is already securing his rabbits, he has moved them into the new shelter he had made for them in case of winter events like the coming up storm we are under."

Over by the Rabbit pens Oliver and Fluttershy are taking the rabbits to the winter emergency shed made for such an occasion.

Fluttershy. "Oh, come on you bunnies it is best you all are kept warm and safe from the winter storm that is coming over."

Oliver. "Thank you for helping me take the precaution of keeping my bunnies safe Fluttershy."

Fluttershy. "I am more than happy to help, I just wanted to make sure no one will feel lonely and cold through the storm that is coming over."

Oliver could not help but to noticed that Angel the bunny is again trying to entice his bunnies for a get together. This made Oliver Chuckle.

Oliver. "Hm, hm, hm. It looks like someone is trying to make a good thing for my bunnies for a return favor."

Angel is trying to push the enclosure where his favorite doe lives, to show how much he wants her to be safe in hopes for a favor in return. Only the doe inside could not help but laugh at angel struggling to push the cage to no avail. Angel just stopped for a moment to catch his breath before trying again.

Just as Angle began again, he felt the cage to move to his surprise only to find it was Donald and Douglas helping to move the cages into the shelter.

Donnie. "Do not fash yourself we white bunny."

Douglas. "Aye, we be more willing to help Oliver move the bunnies into the shed." Angle just looked on as the Macintosh twins moved the last of the bunny enclosures safe just as everything went by, he became disappointed not being able to move the cage by his little bunny self.

Fluttershy and Oliver could not help but to laugh about Angel's disappointment.

Oliver. "Nice try little bunny who is always going for that particular doe."

Fluttershy. "Aw do not feel to disappointed, there is always another way to earn a lady's heart."

Angle just sat there sulking, in defeat.

Near Knapford in the home of the Greasley brothers and their cousin, Spencer. Gordon and Scot are taking no time in preparing for their days on the tracks after the storm passes in a couple of days.

Gordon and Scott managed to stop by the nearby department store to find the things to help them keep warm while riding the rails once the storm passes.

Scott. "What do you feel we need once the storm passes Gordon."

Gordon. "Just looking for some warm items for the next few days, if the storm gets too bad, the controller will cancel the travels across the Island for safety reason. Once the storm passes, we need to return to the rails and keep it clean enough for us to travel down the express. With some restrictions to the timetables to make sure everyone made it to their destinations without confusion and delay."

Scott. "Good to know, you know Spencer has not even considered on keeping warm on days like these Brother."

Gordon "That is typical for him to forget safety over his arrogance of safety of everyone especially himself for days like these Scott."

Scott. "What exactly had he done to make him so sure he can overcome mother nature at her worst?"

Gordon. "I can remember a time when a terrible fog had rolled over the Island so Thick that it was too hard to chuff through. Sir Topham hat did not want us to be lost in the fog, so he allowed for us to remain in the sheds. Spencer was there and had believed he can find his way back to the summer house, but he then ended up both in the quarry and the dump before returning back to sheds realizing that the fog really made it bad for him to return to the summer house of the Duke and Duchess of Boxford."

Scott. "What exactly he did to overcome his grievance while that fog was down that day Gordon?"

Gordon. "Well, it was also that time when Percy had not return after his mail run on the line, Spencer decided to earn his keep by finding Percy and bringing both him and Percy safe and sound once they returned to Tidmouth sheds."

Scott could only laugh, and amaze on how Spencer could be so reckless at first before readdressing his ego for a better cause.

Scott. "Well, in that case, why don't we find something more appropriate attire for our silver headed cousin since he barely comes into such stores to find the things he needs to wear for seasonal events."

Gordon. "Could not agree more Scott, I hear what is called a polar vortex in on its way. Not only we need to be ready for the storm but extremely frigid cold air to be blown across the island days after the storm would pass."

Scott. "then we should also get some extra amounts of firewood to keep the home warm and toasty during the coldest events yet since our humanizations brother."

Then the brothers carried on to the nearby stores to pick up some garments at a department store and on the way home from there, stopped by at the homestead and asked for Thomas for a supply of Firewood from the wood piles for the homes. Then the brothers returned home to meet up with both Rebecca and Spencer for the rest of the evening.

Twilight and her friends had also returned from school after hearing the news about the Snowstorm coming in. Unlike Equestria, there is no magic attached to this storm, it is mother nature throwing her test of endurance to everyone who dares to face it through its worst.

Spike. "Hey Twilight, what are you doing to prepare for the snowstorm that has been broadcasted?"

Twilight. "I plan a full day of looking through the student's papers from our own school of friendship from back home and keeping up with my build of the engine building class I am taking with Thomas and everyone who is taking that class."

Spike. "Wow that is a lot for you to do, but I do not think that Thomas nor Rosie are going to work on their engine project in the engine shed if the storm proves to be too much for them to work the engines in the snowy weather."

Twilight. "Maybe not Spike, but that does not mean I cannot just try and work on my engine project while the doors are closed in the sheds."

Then Rosie showed up to give the ponies a warm snack while waiting for dinner to be finished.

Rosie. "Here you go Twilight you and your friends are welcome to enjoy some hot pockets Applejack had helped made before the actual dinner begins."

Applejack. "Darn toot tin there Rosie, there is nothing better than a warm piece of pie on a cold blistery day."

Pinkie pie just zoomed in after hearing about the pies Rosie and Applejack made as an afternoon snack.

Pinkie Pie. "Thank you, Rosie, Thank you Applejack. MM, mm, these look really good."

Rosie. "At least our world is capable of coming up with ideas of warming up food really quickly, especially when one is so occupied with their studies like Twilight is here."

Twilight. "What can I say I am a natural when it comes to complete with high honors."

Rosie. "Like Victor has said Twilight there is no rush in our engine builds, Thomas's and mine do seemed so close to completion, that does not mean there is not a lot left to get done before we initiate the first firing of the engines."

Applejack. "Maybe you should keep it down for now, and due to the nature of this storm that is coming over here Twilight, it is best to wait it out, just to be safe about it."

Twilight. "I appreciate all of your concerns everyone, I just want to see if there is something, I can do during the time we are under a winter lock down."

Then Rainbow Dash came in after looking the amounts of snow that is predicted to fall.

Rainbow Dash. "Hey Twilight, have you seen, the storm is capable of dumping over two feet of snow to fall, I do not believe it would be wise to venture into the snow to work on your engine Twilight."

Rosie. "Rainbow is right Twilight; you do not want to be out into this storm even if you are planning some time with the engine you are building for class. I can remember a time when Thomas thought he needed to get his work done when we were short of coal during a very cold spell, we were under. Thomas sat all night after he ran out of coal during his run. It was not until Diesel had almost pass Thomas before he decided to give him the coal to become the hero over Thomas that time."

Rarity then showed up after hearing about Thomas's deep freeze time. "From what I have heard about such a thing Twilight Darling, Thomas was not too happy that Diesel almost left him in that snow drift at that time. If I were you Twilight, I can hold on working on that engine of yours and wait it out like the rest of us are."

Twilight. "I am sure it will be fine; besides, it will not be like venturing across equestria for what we have done in the past before my carination into the status of princess of all equestria. It just means I will take the time needed to see what adjustments I need to make before coming back in after making the assumptions. Then I can return inside with you guys and discuss about what we can do for the next Valentine's day dance Thomas hosts every year. But I believe there will a limit this year."

Spike. "Well alright, just please remember to come back once you find what you need to make improvements on it."

Twilight. "Do not worry, I am not going anywhere too far, just into the engine shed to look into my engine for me to talk to victor about next time we see him in class."

Then the rest of the friends went out to help prepare for the storm while Spike and Twilight go over the note's twilight had taken down to make the engine, she hopes can be much help back in her world.

In the laundry cabin, James, Jessica, Jasper, and molly are finishing washing their clothes, they all hoped by washing the amount of clothing hey have between the four. They all would have enough to wear during the cold spell after the storm.

Jasper. "There we are everyone, a nice stack of clean clothes to last through the polar vortex, and days after wards."

James. "Great now we all have our stacks of clothing to put away, let us return to our rooms and place our items away where we can find them when we needed them."

Molly. "Aren't you and Jasper going to get ready for another round of Superbowl this year?"

Jessica. "You bet Molly, Jasper had planned a cool feast of chicken and ribs and pigs in a blanket for the duration of the game."

James. "Who do you believe will be there during the Superbowl half time Jasper?"

Jasper. "I will not know until game day, and this time it is Superbowl 55. A huge milestone in the American version of Football James."

Jessica. "This year it is predicted for Kansas City Chiefs to win over the New England Buccaneers."

Molly. "Well how about we join them this year to understand their American Style Football and see how entertaining it is James."

James. "Why not, it is a good way to enjoy something My sister and her lover gets involved in something like Football."

Across the island to the Queen Pizzeria, Gina and Ashima are Stocking up on their supplies knowing not too many want to venture out to get pizza, so they op to deliver the pizzas all over the island if the weather prevents anyone from reaching the Pizzeria safely.

Ashima. "Here is the last of the supplies before the snows hits Gina."

Gina. "That is good, we have more than enough to surpass this storm and hopes the travels after it is not too harsh for delivery drivers like Spencer who can get careless behind the wheel you know."

Ashima. "Let us see if he has good sense while traveling in the ice and snow the way he does."

Gina. "Not a problem, if he does not comply with safety on his delivery rounds then Rajiv will be more likely to take his position on lean deliver driver."

Rajiv. "You got that right ladies!" Then Rajiv managed to slide across the floor just in front of the two workers of the Pizzeria. "Your future lead delivery driver is here to make good on a service for the Pizzeria. And hopes it can give me a bit of an income for me to start off with."

Ashima knows that Rajiv can be useful but can boast about being a royal engine of India.

Ashima. "Just remember Rajiv, you are a pizza delivery driver if Spencer is unable to make it in the storm that is coming our way."

Rajiv. "Not to worry Ashima, I have had a great safety record on my driving on Sodor thus far. I keep to speed, always check on the direction for me to make my deliveries. Then I execute the delivery to the letter, and a bit of charm as I hand the pizzas to our customers."

Back on the homestead in the residents of Edward Pettigrew and his friends and lover Holly Mikato, Bo Co, and the clay twins Bill and Ben. Sonny and Wyatt are also there still discussing the kind of cabin they hope to make once the land had thawed from the frigid weather of winter. They both looked through many magazines, computer graphics to choose the style of timber framed log home they wanted for themselves.

Wyatt. "Why not the river house, we can set up next to the Billington bay and hopes to be our home near the shoreline."

Sonny. "Naw, why not the barrow house I am sure it will house us just nicely on the spot that Misty here had pointed to us." He says as he rubs the belly of the white puppy of Edward's and Holly's, wagging her little tale on the complements Sonny just gave her."

Wyatt. "Well why not just a simple ranch style timber frames home where it is just for the two of us, until school is over for the both of us."

Sonny. "Just the same I am hoping to sharpen my building skills by providing ourselves a place of stay during our school years here."

Wyatt. "I am sure we can come up with something, until then have you gotten everything ready before the snowstorm hits Sonny?"

Sonny. "yeah, I have managed to get enough items for me to be creative enough to be placed in our own cabin."

Wyatt. "What exactly do you get involved in to keep you occupied while living on the homestead since coming here my friend?"

Sonny brought out an acoustic guitar he had been working on since becoming human a few months ago.

Sonny. "I have been working on this for some time now, it is almost finished, all I have to do is varnish it then sting it up so I can learn to play it whenever I feel blue or lonesome at times."

Wyatt. "Still feeling a bit down on what happened last summer. I am sure the trauma may have given you such deep scars on your life."

Sonny. "I still feel bad of becoming part of Bernie and Baz's gang, until I got here, I never knew of what it is like to be told to be really useful like everyone else here have experienced."

Wyatt. "Well, it was the first time you had experienced any form of kindness Sonny, not too many people can understand what it is like to be lumbering locomotives on the rails. Doing all we can to provide a service to them and everyone who we needed to reach once the cargo got there."

Sonny. "That is why I had built this Guitar to help me chase my blues away and help me find a better sense of peace now I do not have anything to do with the old gang again."

Back into the Dining hall Thomas and Rosie were together helping each other prepare some needed Chili for their friends. Their special chili helps keep their friends warm in the inside and out. Ariel Thomas's sister came is to offer a helping hand with Buddy next to her.

Ariel. "Hello, you two, need any help with your special chili?"

Rosie. "You can say that Ariel, you can help us with these two Chilies we are making for our friends whenever they needed a warm belly during the deep freeze this week."

Ariel. "Two? You two usually make just one huge batch of Chili for us homesteaders."

Thomas. "Well normally yes Ariel, but we are also making two types of chili, the regular meaty chili for our regular friends while we also make a vegan Chili for our Pony friends who may want a taste of Chili if they ever wanted to try them out."

"". "Hopefully, you have not started the chilies without us haven't you two."

The Billington siblings and Rosie had turned to see Henry and Emily emerging into the Dining hall after smelling the hint of Chili being made by the Bilingtons and Rosie.

Henry. "Emily insisted to be here during the preparation phase on your special Chili Thomas."

Thomas. "Hello, you two, we are just preparing the chilies for our winter lock down if it gets too cold to address anything that does not have anything to do with chores around the homestead. "

Rosie. "If you wish to help along Emily, then come along and help us out so we have enough for everyone as well for our pony friends tastes too."

Then Applejack and Rainbow Dash came in, Followed by Pinkie Pie, Rarity and Fluttershy, lastly Starlight Glimmer Followed by Twilight Spike the dog and Flash Sentry to join up with their friends before the snow begins to fly.

Applejack. "Much obliged for your hospitality there Rosie and Thomas, I however would not mind of learning to make your special Chili my friends and I have heard was the most interesting this Island have ever had."

Thomas. "This time we are making two special Chilies, one for the meat eaters of the homestead, the other for the vegans. That way they can taste the Chili without any meat attached in it."

Starlight Glimmer. "I must admit that smells so good there Thomas and Rosie. Mind if we stick around and learn about your special secret of your Chili You two."

Both Thomas and Rosie laughed of the thought of the ponies learning to make their special chili for themselves. Usually, their chili is a special secret to themselves. On this occasion they can allow their friends watch as they make the two chilies for their Equestrian friends to make back into their world if their place of origin can allow them to.

Rosie. "Let see, Applejack, you can help us prepare the vegetables for the other chili, Thomas is already at work with the first batch."

Applejack. "Can do on that Rosie."

Thomas. "Starlight, why don't you help Pinkie Pie find the spices we need to make the chili sends warmth through the body and into the mind. Here is a list of the items we need for the two of you in gathering for the chilies."

Starlight. "I can do that, how about you Pinkie, want to help me find these spices Thomas wants for us to find?"

Pinkie Pie. "Eh it is no problem Starlight, let us look inside for the seasonings and spices for the Chilies."

Twilight. "I believe we can wait it out until you are finished with the chilies you two."

Thomas. "So, I heard you went out to your engine in the shed, am I right Twilight?"

Twilight. "Yeah, just wanted to make sure it would survive the snow and the cold."

Henry. "Just keep it in the shed to prevent anything from happening to it. And once the weather improves then you can again fuss about your engine until you are ready to fire it up for the first time."

Twilight. "I know, I just did not want to fall too far behind the project."

Thomas. "Believe me Twilight, you would just give it the right amount of time and before you know it. Your ever first engine made by Princess Twilight Sparkle's hands, will be ready for its first firing up and ready to be really useful."

Twilight. "Thank you, Thomas."

Rainbow Dash. "All we need to do is to wait out the storm and the icy weather that is coming after wards. So far we gathered enough wood for our dormers to keep us warm at night."

Applejack. "Not to mention that we have our rooms stocked with every potential means of survival from the snowstorm."

Henry. "Let us hope this is just a winter storm and not some freaky weather event cause by someone beyond us Girls."

Thomas. "What exactly do you believe would happen to this storm that is going to reach the Island before long?"

Henry. "I do not know Thomas, just getting some strange feelings of something not right for one."

Fluttershy. "There, there, Henry, I am sure what it is, should not be that bad right Twilight?"

Twilight just stood there and thought of what could come out of its' way to find the princess and challenge them in this snowy place.

Fluttershy. "Twilight have you not heard of what I have said a moment agoi?"

Twilight just came back into focus after hearing what Henry said about anyone capable of doing awful things especially since she and the rest are considered guests to the homestead.

Twilight. "What Huh, Oh, I was just remembering who would come all this way to make the wintertime here much worse. That is if he ever managed to return after he was defeated by Discord the last time he was seen."

Rainbow Dash. "What who? Him. We beaten him for a while now, there is no way for him to make such a return the last time we whooped him."

The humanized engines were puzzled.

Emily. "Who is this him you are referring to Rainbow Dash?"

Rarity. "OH, please darling, there is no way that scoundrel King Sombra could possibly still be around after we dealt with him over a couple of years ago darling."

Twilight. "There is now doubt that we had seemed to finish off King Sombra from our last encounter, but that does not mean he would once again make an unpleasant appearance even here on the Island of Sodor if he has it his way."

Applejack. "How in the world would he know how to travel here when most of our world besides us can know of the Island's existence?"

Thomas. "From the sounds of this guy, I just hope he does not plan to come over to the homestead where we may have guests around for any brief period of stay."

Pinkie Pie. "YOU have noo. Idea the kind of guy King Sombra is really like."

Ariel. "There is so much to understand about this King Sombra you ponies are talking about. Maybe you should sit around the dinner table tonight and brief us on this King Sombra in case we need to be aware of. That is when he plans to come over and begin any onslaught on the residence of the Island itself."

Twilight. "Then we all shall come to the table tonight and explain much about King Sombra and how we had managed to defeat him a couple of times before."

Rosie. "Then that is what we shall do. A dinner and a bit of explanation of this King Sombra you had mentioned before it could be too late to stop."

Then it was all agreed.

Down over by Harwick, near the base of the pirate ship a shadow had appeared and from that shadows came humanized King sombra on the Island of sodor. Just as he was about to use his magic to his surprised was unable to perform it due to the different nature between Equestria and the Island of Sodor. Can our friends find out in time before King Sombra is able to make his reign of terror on Sodor begins? What will happen to allow for King sombra to gain a foot hold on an island he has not knowledge on? Can he ever be stopped before he can begin?
