Fang had flown far from the city, and into the wastelands that the pack had came from. It was there, that the bat caught a glimpse of the old family they left behind. It's been a month since they left, and Lori's pack wasn't exactly doing so well, as food was becoming harder and harder to find. The heat that came from the waste land was make it so that anything was even nearly edible for them was burnt up. They were young were becoming sick; Lola, Lana, Lynn, Lily, Leo and Leon couldn't hold on for much longer. But Lori's pride was getting the better of her, refusing any help from her pack members, and also refusing to go too far from the farm, even though the place has become a death trap at this point. Worse had come to worse when Leni found out something gravely unexpected, she was pregnant. And with little to no food, she feared for the life of her new pup. But Lori refused to give into that, as she came home with a dead rat in her mouth, which she then throws down at her suffering sister...
Lori:"Eat."
Leni:"Lori, I don't think this will be enough for the baby. Can you please get me more?"
Lori:"I've told you, Leni. We need to make sacrifices if we are to survive."
Leni:"But, Lori...this isn't living. This is suffering."
Lori:"I don't wanna hear it! Eat the rat or starve to death, Leni!"
Seeing how much her sister had changed frightened Leni deeply, as she began chewing on the rat. Lori was consumed by both vanity and frustration, and she was taking it out on her family. If starvation wasn't gonna kill them first, then Lori would most certainly lead them to death. Lori cried at the thought, forcefully picking herself up and leaving the barn, going for a walk. She could see the city that Luna's pack left to from where she stood, and gave out a heavy sigh...
Leni:"Maybe, we should just go to that city. Luna and the others are there."
Lori:"Don't be stupid, Leni! The humans there will most likely captures us and put us in cages! Or worse!"
Leni:"...Honestly, that might be better than living and slowly dying."
Luan:"I think I prefer living here than living in a zoo!"
Leni:"Listen to yourselves! You so caught up in wanting to protect this pack, that you don't realize that our pack is already being destroyed!"
Lori:"That's ENOUGH, Leni! Have you forgotten what the humans did to us?"
Leni:"That doesn't matter-"
Lori:"It DOES MATTER! They killed are parents, forced me to lead, drove us from our home, only to destroy it! We would've never come to this place if it weren't! Believe me, Leni. I may have made an exception for that little boy that Luna adopted, but that was it! The only good human there is left...is a dead one!"
Leni:"...Well, anywhere else is better than living here!"
And with that, Leni started to take off, leaving the rest of her pack in shock!"
Lori:"Leni?! Come back here! You won't survive out there!"
Leni:"And I won't survive here either! I think it's time I started using my head!"
Night had suddenly come. The coldness of the wasteland at night was barely even settling, but should signs of little comfort. Not to mention, that some prey was easier to find, giving wolfs the advantaged they needed. Leni wasn't exactly the best hunter, but she was strong and refused to not give up. Not on her child, and not on herself...But that was before she felt water drop onto her noes. And then, thunder crashed...and lightning flashed...and the sand underneath her feet became muddy. Leni was caught in the middle of a storm, making her realize this was one of the worst days of her life. From where she stood, she was barely even close to the city, it would take another day just to get there. But it was then that she heard footsteps coming from behind her, and turned to see Lori and Luan right behind her...
Leni:"What are you doing here?"
Lori:"What are WE doing here?! What about you?! Leni, you know this is suicide! Come back to us!"
Leni:"I'm not going back! We won't survive over there!"
Lori:"We will find a new place to live, just anywhere by that city!"
Leni:"What is wrong with you, Lori?! You just can't-"
It was then that Leni froze, and then fell to the ground, being in such tremendous pain now. Lori and Luan had then realized that the baby was coming. They were now freaking, because there was no way that Leni would be able to give birth on muddy ground. They were lucky enough to find a patch of grass, which they quickly moved her too, in order to give her comfort. They prayed that the pup would be in good health, and even Lori would want to see it loved and cared for. But as they time was coming, they were in for a surprise. Especially Lori, who's eye twitched at the sight of a little human girl, with white hair, wolf ears and a white tail. When Leni first laid her eyes on it, her eyes sparkled, but Luan had a bad feeling about this...
Luan:"Well, it's...not ugly."
Leni:"She's perfect."
Both of them turned their heads towards Lori, who's eyes were beginning to turn red...
Lori:"Leni...give me...that...child."
Leni:"Lori, I know what you're thinking, but I need you to child."
Lori:"I must take care of it. Stand aside."
Luan:"This ain't you, Lori. It's the hunger, it's making you savage."
Lori:"STAND ASIDE! RIGHT NOW!"
Luan:"I will not let you kill Leni's child, Lori!"
Lori:"...Then I guess...this is it."
Luan was caught off guard as Lori then lunged forward...
