Chapter 11

Filiz's point of view

Another crazy idea hit me. Before he could land his mouth upon mine, I put my hand over my mouth. This caused him to look at me in a dumbfounded way. He asked me,

"Why are you being so difficult tonight?"

"I have always been like this in case you didn't notice, " I replied, still keeping my hand over my lips.

"I want to ask you something, " I told him.

"You have been with a lot of different women, " I continued, maintaining full eye-contact with him

"What is so different about me?" I finally managed to ask him, now moving my hand to touch his stubble.

"All those women wear tons of make-up everyday trying extremely hard to impress people, " he said, grasping my hand and slowly bringing it to his lips.

"You are beautiful regardless of any flashy make-up," he went on, tracing my face with his hand.

"I can keep staring at you all night like this, " he admitted with a kind of earnesty that I just couldn't shake off.

"I like how you don't try too hard to impress others, " he told me with honest sincerity brimming in his eyes.

"I love how you work hard every day to provide a better life for your siblings, " he continued, caressing my cheeks in a very gentle manner.

"I like your stubbornness and your fiery attitude."

"It was one of the major things that attracted me towards you."

"You don't take any kind of bull-shit from anyone," he said, still stroking my cheeks.

"I love you with all your flaws, perfections and imperfections," he acknowledged, bringing his forehead to touch mine in a way that our breaths mingled

After his monumental declarations of love, I felt a bit out of place because I did not expect him to say what he actually said. It was all a bit too overwhelming for me

to take in. I just couldn't comprehend how I was so special to him compared to all those other women he was with. You could say that I was as stubborn as a mule. But

I couldn't help being so after everything life put me through. I had to struggle for every little thing since I was nine years old. After a minute, he asked me,

"Is there anything else you want to know, my dear?"
