(Jace's Cabin)
Jace awoke similarly to how he had the first time. Without his shirt, with Leone cuddling him the same way a cat would cuddle its owner.
Jace wanted to be mad at her, but was more flustered then anything… Still? It wouldn't exactly slow him down for of the day.
Jace dragged himself up and out of bed. He sighed when he remembered his longcoat the he wore everywhere was still wet and healing at the moment to notice it…. Besides Leone himself.
If he cared for that factoid at the moment? He didn't say it and simply pulled on his shirt. Jace sighed with annoyance and walked out and into the living room.
He was angry at the fact that Dune had escaped. If his plan had been more elaborate? Then Jace could hopefully have deprived Matias of one of his best allies and hope of winning.
Instead? All he had gotten for his efforts was plenty of Matia's men dead and a ship or 2 going down.
He would have to return to the drawing board, however. Part of him wondered if the merchant who had gifted him Lionelle to return to Jace had told them of what was coming.
If it was? Then Jace would have to find allies not willing to throw him under the bus. You could only question what they wanted from a more financial point of view.
Jace was interrupted from these thoughts by the thought of footsteps behind him. Leone yawned as she stretched out.
Lionelle seemed to activate by conscious choice. Her feet became more bestial as she grew claws and they morphed into paws. Her fingernails started to lengthen till they became talons and more paws. Finally? Her ears transformed into the fuzz like ears that they always were. Her hair also became much longer like a proper lion's mane.
Leone yawned and arched her back as her body naturally returned to normal. Jace could only sigh as the girl slowly walked around the cabin.
"Morning." Leone said while Jace hummed.
"Morning." Jace stated and let out a yawn of his own while rubbing the sleep out of his eyes.
Jace would never admit it, Leone would never allow him the benefit of living it down. But a small part of him enjoyed his sleep. He didn't feel as tired as he used to when he would spend hours planning and getting gear.
'Then again? Life back then used to be being expected to wake up at the drop of a hat. You could have a knife in your throat before you ever woke up.' Jace thought to himself while humming.
"How'd you sleep?" Jace questioned while cracking his neck. "Ugh, my brain is ringing." Jace stated to himself more then anything else.
He could only wonder what Leone was thinking of as Jace slowly crossed the room. He walked towards the coffee maker.
"Do you want anything this morning?" Jace questioned himself before yawning once more as he blinked.
Jace leaned on the counter while he tried to catch his balance. He wondered what would happen down the road anyway.
Still? He didn't want to plan on fighting Matias yet. There was almost nothing he could do anyway. Jace needed allies as he knew for a fact Matias would go underground for a while.
There was really nothing that he could do at the moment, so that would be for another day anyway.
"You ok?" Leone asked as she walked over to Jace who hummed.
"Define ok?" Jace asked and pushed away from the counter only to almost knock into Leone. "Sorry, I'm still a little tired." Jace muttered as he clicked his tongue against the roof of his mouth.
Leone hummed and wrapped her arms around Jace. Jace looked at the looming lioness.
If Jace was more well rested? He'd squirm and push the brawler away from him. Jace didn't much care to do something at the moment.
"You tired?" Jace questioned as he leaned against the counter. "Or coffee?" Jace asked Leone who hummed and nodded.
Leone released Jace and looked at the coffee. Jace leaned on the counter and looked over at the coffee maker while he rubbed at his eyes.
"You have coffee?" Leone asked as Jace hummed and nodded.
"And drinks if you want something heavier." Jace pointed out while going to dig through the pantry for food.
He was exhausted and didn't want to do anything at the moment. Jace sighed and walked towards his chair before slowly sitting down in it.
"Aw! You do care!" Leone yelled which made Jace winced as he looked to the side at Leone.
"Very damn funny, Leone." Jace said while rubbing at his temples. "Damn it, my imperial arm is messing with my head…. Wait, where the hell is it?" Jace questioned while sighing as he slowly pushed himself out of the chair.
Jace could only sigh and hummed as he slowly walked out with Lupusnal. He grunted and plopped down in his chair while he cracked his fingers one by one.
He crossed his fingers while he looked to Leone who was busy trying to make coffee. Jace watched her slowly trek across the room, one bare foot in front of the other. Jace watched as she opened the fridge.
Jace knew Leone loved to drink. The strategic part of his brain that was still waking up almost wondered if Leone didn't get drunk because of Lionelle's regeneration.
The other parts of his brain didn't care to common on the idea at all. He was still waking up. Jace didn't really care if Leone drank or not.
The busty brawler grabbed at the bigger bottles and walked to the sofa. She plopped down and kicked her feet over the side.
"Hmm." Jace said while crossing his legs under him. Jace looked at Leone while she popped the cork open with her teeth. "You don't get drunk when you drink?" Jace questioned while Leone hummed.
"Not really, no." Leone said while starting to down the drink. "Why, you don't drink?" Leone questioned as Jace chuckled with amusement and shook his head.
"Sometimes, not as much as you probably do." Jace responded while rubbing at his temples. "No offense. Sorry, I'm still waking up a bit. I'm still not as tired as I usually am. I'm usually exhausted by now." Jace stated and rubbed at his chin.
"Hmm." Leone said and continued downing the bottle. Jace could only roll his eyes.
It was going to be a long morning. Jace didn't care to waste time doing anything at all to begin with.

Phew. Another chapter done! I want to point out that Leone and Jace are going to bond slowly and such. next chapter will be in 2-10 weeks and will show Jace and Leone talking and bonding more as they enjoy the morning and such. Until then, Lighting Wolf out!
P.S: Next chapter will be 2000 words or so hopefully. I will make an Akame and Chelsea story soon.
