Epilogue
During the winter, Freja would spend some time at the Hilltop. An illness came and tore through the population causing Daryl to come find her an bring her back to try and help. On occasion Daryl and Freja would spend days together in the tree house. With every time they crossed the distance between the garden and the Hilltop, they became increasingly aware of the walker migration west. The topic was frequently discussed by the members of the Hilltop leadership. Eventually it was decided, that someone should go out west to figure out where they were all going and possibly why. Daryl had volunteered, but eventually it was decided to accept Freja's suggestion, that she would go. She had argued, that she could live of the plants of the forest rather than the animals, which were likely killed considering the concentration of walkers. Furthermore, she believed she would have an easier time making contact with any clusters of survivors. She would try to trade medicines where Daryl might be perceived as a threat. Insisting to go with her, Daryl ended up staying back due to his friends pleading, that after the illness of the winter they needed him. He agreed reluctantly and only because he knew how capable she was. So finally, that spring, Freja went west with an agreement that the Hilltop would sustain her the following wither as her garden would grow over. Her animals were brought to the Hilltop for safe keeping as well and she had taught a resident and to some extend Daryl how to find the most important medical plants and how to use them. The agreement was for her to only be gone that one summer and to return in autumn. However, when she did not return, Daryl moved into the forest that following spring.
All I wanted to do, was to write a bit of smut. 2.000-5.000 words. Maybe. And so I started writing this in the notes app of an iPhone... A choice of tool, that I will not make again.
