When Anna woke, light was only starting to peek through the dark curtains. Sirius was curled up beside her, his steady breathing comforting her.

Anna slowly climbed out of bed, careful not to wake Sirius and padded down the stairs and into the kitchen.

She poured a glass of water, drinking it slowly as she looked around the dark room. A cold wind seemed to blow around it, and Anna wrapped her arms around herself, discarding the cup in the sink as she walked down the hallway.

Somehow she found herself at the door of Dumbledore's office. She knocked quietly, and when no one answered she opened it slowly, checking for any sight of Dumbledore.

Thankfully, despite the Order being run by wizards capable of doing magic, it still had lights, and Anna flipped the switch, looking around the now bright room.

The locket lay on the table and Anna felt herself drawn to it. She picked it up, feeling it tremor in her hands as she did, but rather than it giving her the same weird feeling as before, now Anna was filled with a feeling of security and safety.

Despite knowing that it was a locket, Anna had never thought to try and open it. Now she pulled at the opening curiously, trying to pry it open.

At first the locket seemed to be locked, but just as Anna gave it her final try, it sprung open, letting out a burst of white light.

Anna yelped, falling backwards onto the ground as she dropped the locket. The light disappeared, revealing a person, a woman, Anna realised with a jolt.

"Anna."

"Who are you? How do you know my name?" Anna jumped to her feet, feeling a rush of panic.

"Anna, it's me." The woman stepped closer, and suddenly Anna could recognise the dark brown hair, the pale blue eyes, the same smile that Anna had known for so many years.

"Gran?"

"Yes honey." The person who seemed so much like her gran, but was glowing, and had an electrifyingly magical air around her.

Anna threw herself forward, hugging the older woman. Her Gran held her close, stroking her back soothingly while Anna tried not to cry.

"How, how are you here?" Anna stepped back, looking at her grandmother, who looked just like she remembered her to.

"I'll do my best to explain everything." Gran answered slowly. "We haven't got much time."

She gestured for Anna to sit down, and she did, sinking into the closest chair. Her gran picked up the locket, turning it over, before holding it out to Anna. She flinched away instinctively, and Gran smiled sadly. "It won't hurt you Anna, I promise."

Anna gingerly took the locket, and her Gran sighed. "That locket was the bane of my existence. And at last, it can be used for good."

"What do you mean?"

Her gran waved her hand, and a hologram of James and Lily Potter appeared. Anna looked from the couple back to her grandmother.

"I don't understand."

"Voldemort." Her grandmother answered, her expression grim. "He knows. And he's coming for them."

Of all the days, today was the one day when the order was seemingly deserted.

The house was lit up with the sunlight that streamed through it, and Anna took the stairs two at a time, ignoring the freaky paintings that shouted at her for running in the house. Gen was nowhere to be found, neither Dumbledore. She needed to find the Potters.

Feeling her panic mounting, Anna didn't notice the person coming down the hallway until she had literally run into them. Strong arms steadied her, and Anna looked up at the familiar face in relief.

"Merlin, Anna, you almost gave me a heart attack!"

"Sirius, there's no time!" Anna panted, shaking her head at him. "Where are Lily and James?"

"Godric's hollow, they left this morning." Sirius answered, catching her by the shoulders as she made to rush off. "Where are you going?"

"I don't know..I, I saw something, Sirius, Lily needs the locket! Peter...Peter did it!"

Sirius froze, looking at her funny. "What did he do?"

"Gran said..said he's been turned. He's a spy, Sirius you have to believe me! Lily needs the locket!"

"Weren't you the only one who could touch it?" Sirius questioned and she shook her head.

"Gran said..she's my second cousin, or something, it doesn't matter, Sirius it's important!"

"It's okay, I'll go." Sirius compromised, taking her hands in his. "You are to stay put, and safe until I get back. Promise?"

"Promise." Anna sighed. She pushed the pouch containing her locket into his hands. "Fly fast, and be safe." She ordered him. "I'll go find Dumbledore."

"I'll see you soon." He promised, leaning down to kiss her on the forehead.

Anna watched him go in silence, hugging her arms to her chest and repeating over and over that they would all be okay. She was only trying to convince herself, and deep down she knew that she was lying to herself.
