I do not own Star Wars The Clone Wars.

Life in the Jedi temple was calm and peaceful. Younglings being trained, Masters meditating, and Padawans studying. War hadn't changed much. There were fewer Masters meditating and Padawans were studying battle tactics along with their jedi studies. The temple still had an air of calm and peace.

Odette didn't feel that calm and peace the temple offered others. She was mulling over the visions she had seen in the crystal cave. Not to mention trying to figure out what had changed about her crystals. Everything was strange and mysterious, and not in the awe inspiring kind of way. It was frustrating her that she couldn't find any answers, even in the older texts Madam Jocasta had given her.

"Find anything Knight Kryze?" Odette looked over as the old librarian leaned over her shoulder. "Prophetic texts rarely offer any real knowledge."

"It's legends and myths I'm trying to understand." Odette grumbled in defeat as she removed the data stick from her terminal.

Jocasta frowned. "Perhaps changing your focus of study for a bit. Frustrated minds rarely find answers." She picked up a few of the data sticks to return them to their place. "You had mentioned you wanted to learn more about your kyber crystals. There is an entire sections on crystals and their properties."

Odette watched as Madam Jocasta walked away. She sighed as she collected the last few data pads to return them from where she had taken them. Perhaps the Librarian was right and a break from finding nothing would benefit her.

As she slid the last data stick into place, a shuffling of feet drew her attention. She spotted a head of blond hair vanish past the shelf, at youngling height. Odette walked over to see who the child was, but there was no one. Looking around, she spotted a white piece of cloth slide past a shelf. 'This is ridiculous.' Odette thought as she pursued the cloth, again finding no one.

This same pattern continued throughout the Archives. Flowing brown hair around this corner. A black gloved hand releasing its grip on that shelf. A flash of blue down this hall. A hum of a saber and light of green down that hall. On she went until Odette wasn't even sure she was still in the Archives.

The halls were of bare stone with marking upon them. Odette could not read the text, but she found her eye drawn to them, seeking knowledge from them. They held a secret, she just needed to find a way to read it. The long hall eventually came to an end, opening up to an expansive world that Odette felt was familiar. It was dusty and devoid of greenery, with rocky outcrops that were rounded by time and wind.

"So you have returned." Odette looked around as she tried to find where the echoing voice was coming from. "What do you seek this time?" She spun around, coming face to face with the Bendu.

Odette looked around then back at the entrance to the tunnel she had come out of. "What is this place?" She asked the massive creature before her.

Bendu pulled back, regarding the girl once more. "It is what you make of it. You have changed, Mandalorian."

"A lot has happened." Odette summed up. "Could you answer a question for me?"

"Just one? In that case I have already answered it." Bendu could see the girl was not amused, though it amused him. "The knowledge you seek will not answer the questions you have."

"I haven't even asked." Was the Bendu able to read minds? Odette couldn't be sure. "What are these visions I am seeing? I can't make sense of any of them no matter how much I meditate or study. I don't know who these children are."

"Then why are you seeing them?" Odette looked up at Bendu, confused. "What connection do you have to these 'children' you are seeing? What do you feel when you encounter them?" He could see the young jedi was not understanding. "Sit, meditate and listen." The girl rolled her eyes before following his instruction and sat. "Close your eyes. Think of these 'childen' you have seen. What do you see?"

Odette shut her eyes and took a deep breath. She thought back to when she saw the children back in the crystal caves. "I see a head of blond hair...short hair...a boy? The other is brown hair. It's twisted around their ears-human ears. It must be long. A girl? Are they siblings?" She tried to picture more of them from the glimpse she saw in the archives. "They are about the same height. She has a white dress. He's in...jedi robes? Are they jedi? Have I seen them before?"

Bendu looked at the two figures standing in front of the young jedi. They were as she had described them. A girl with dark hair braided on the sides of her head in a white dress, and a boy with blond hair in light colored jedi robes. "You see them, now feel them. What emotions do they draw from you? What memories do they pull to the surface?"

Odette paused as let her mind drift. She focused on the girl, her elaborate hair and pure white dress. "She reminds me of a Senator... or a Princess. I feel... at home? Comforted? She is stronger than she looks, far stronger."

"A kinship you feel?" Bendu coxed the jedi.

"I probably grew up in a similar environment." Odette admitted. She paused on the thought. Was this girl the child of a dignitary or royal, just as she was the daughter of a Duchess?

Odette set her musing about the girl aside as she turned her focus to the boy. "It feels...different, but the same? Unknown past...lost family...unknown family...and strong with the force. Who are these children?" She mentally brought the the girl beside the boy, trying to find a connection, but finding none.

Bendu hummed as the two vision faded away. "Beings not yet brought into being." He watched as the jedi got up from the ground. "What did you learn?"

"Not the answers I was seeking." Odette admitted as she held her head in her hands in defeat. "Is there a way to get a more definitive answer?" She looked up at the Bendu, his glowing silver eyes boring into her.

Bendu frowned as he regarded the young jedi. "There is a way. If a Sith and Jedi combine a holocron each, they may ask a question and receive an answer. A warning, to do such would bring great chaos, learning things that ought not be learned." He regarded the girl as the powers within her stirred as they influenced her decisions.

Odette pondered a moment, not knowing where to find a Sith holocron. She supposed there may be record in the archives, or a Sith may know. Beyond Dooku and Ventress, Odette didn't know any other Sith. There was this Sidious, but none of the jedi knew who he was or what he looked like. If he was Dooku's Master, certainly he would have a holocron, but would he give one to her? What would it cost, and would she be willing to pay it?

"What question do you seek to answer?" Bendu asked. "You have already failed to answer your own. Or is it that you haven't found the question to the answers you have found?" He regarded the jedi as she thought more. Pondering his words or lost in her own mind, he couldn't tell. "If your mind has left, then leave with your body as well. I have no time for lost causes."

Odette watched as the Bendu settled himself back into the ground, vanishing into the landscape before her. She turned to head back the way she came, hoping to return to the temple. She paused as a clicking sound distracted her. Looking over towards another entrance into the ground, she spotted a krykna watching her. She sensed no ill will from the creature, but it felt as though it was calling to her.

Odette took one last look at the hallway before turning and walking towards the krykna. There was some recordings of the creature in the archives, but it mostly warned people to stay away from them. That they were vicious and malicious. Odette felt nothing like that from this creature before her. If anything, she felt it was as curious of her as she was of it.

"Hello there." Odette placed a hand on the krykna, surprised by it's almost fuzzy exterior. "What did you want to show me?" She asked curiously, not sure if she would get an answer.

The krykna gave a few clicks before turning and heading into the tunnel behind it. Odette didn't hesitate to follow, keeping close so as not to lose the creature in the dark cavern. The tunnel wound around and went deeper down, but it never dimmed. Odette wondered if maybe the krykna was luminescent in some way. Or maybe it was the tunnel itself that glowed faintly.

"Lost are you, Knight Kryze?" Odette spun around and looked down at the Grand Master. "Been in the archives, long time you have."

Odette took a moment too look back at the Krykna behind her, but all she saw were rows of data pads in the Archive. She looked around and found herself back in the Archives. Even the row she had returned her own research materials to. "I was here, but not here. It's hard to explain Master. I've been seeing things-visions, but I can't make sense of all of it."

Yoda frowned as he regarded the young jedi. "Visions, misleading they can be. Many interpretations, there will be. Pursue them, you should not." He stamped his cane on the ground, his verdict given.

"Yes Master." Odette answered the old jedi.

"Meditate and clear your mind you should." Yoda advised the young knight before returning to his own tasks.

Odette watched as the Grand Master continued on his way, seeking his own knowledge in the halls of the Archives. With a sigh she headed for the exit, deciding to seek answers within herself. Or maybe to rid herself of these visions once and for all.

Her feet brought her to the hall of a thousand fountains. She could see two jedi meditating in front of the main structure. Then a few scattered among the lower tiers. Odette followed one of the fountain paths towards one of the still pools. She settled herself onto the small disk in the center of the pool, balancing herself above the water. She settled herself into a meditative pose, like she had done many times over the short time she trained under her father.

She let herself sink into the Force, letting her senses fade one by one. The first few times she had meditated the Force had felt so bright, like walking into sunlight after being in a dim cave for a time. Now that she had lived in it, the light did not seem so bright. With having been exposed to the Son, it seemed a bit dull even.

'So you see the truth.' Son spoke up, amusement obvious in his voice. 'The Light isn't as great as it boasts itself to be.'

'It's certainly not what I thought it would be.' Odette admitted. 'With how quiet you were, I had thought you were gone.'

'I don't think you will ever be rid of me.' Odette could almost sense happiness in his voice. 'So I suppose it is time I properly taught you about how to use my powers.' Odette felt a darkness settle over her, but it was not cold, it was comforting. 'As you said, darkness and light does not mean good and evil. It is simply the source of power. What you do with it is up to you.'

'You're not what I expected either.' Odette admitted.

'Neither are you, jedi.' Son chuckled. 'Or is it Sith?'

Odette paused, mulling over her recent encounter with Bendu. 'Do you know where to find a Sith holocron?'

'Holocrons are items imbued with the force, similar to kyber crystals.' Son educated her. 'If it is a Sith holocron you seek, then it is the dark side you must seek out to find one. Only the dark side can open a Sith holocron.' Odette relaxed as she allowed the darkness to wrap around her, cloak her in it's presence. 'Feel the dark side, embrace it and take hold of it. Just as the Light seeks to control it's users, so too will the Dark. Your devotion to it will give you the power you seek.'

Odette reached out and grasped onto the darkness. It jerked around in her grip, trying to both free itself and latch onto her. She held it, allowing it to grip onto her but keeping in control. The force tingled around her, charged with energy.

A cold began to settle around her, along with a sense of danger and anger. 'What is that?'

'What else? Another Sith. One who can see how powerful you will become.' Son answered. 'He will seek to control you, or destroy you.' Odette wondered who this sith was, Dooku or his Master? Either way, she would not submit to them. She was a proud warrior of Mandalore. She submitted to no one. 'Will you destroy him?'

'Perhaps.' Odette took a deep breath as she removed herself from her meditation. As she opened her eyes to the physical world, she found the once dim room she had been in to be well lit. Certainly not bright, but not as dim as before. She got up and began making her way out of the meditation room. 'Strange how different things can look from a different perspective.'

Sorry for such a short chapter.

I promise longer chapters are coming.

Who's ready for some slightly OP sith abilities?
