I don't own BNHA, lol. what a joke.
okay so i've written and re-written these last few chapters, like, ten times. I wanted her to meet neito before the USJ, and get closer to koda (so i hope this reveals why I chose koda, not Mineta. Whoever left class A would then get a more main role, whereas Mineta'll just be in the background) and ig i had NO IDEA how to make it more natural and flowey?
in the end, I was like idc if its cringey. I mean, as long as I like what I write, right?
ALSO
...surprised? :D
two chapters today !
"So, you think it was that flash of light?' Neito rested his chin on his hands, his fingers intertwined.
"Maybe. We were both hit by it? Could it be a quirk he didn't know about?' Uraraka replied.
"He had so many, that he could've lost track. It's definitely a possibility."
"Ugh. Is it bad that I wish he'd killed me instead?' Uraraka banged her head against the table.
"Well, that makes two of us." Uraraka turned her head, resting her cheek against the cold table. She stared out of the window, watching the sunset, finding the silence comfortable.
"Uraraka! Mr Aizawa wants to see you!' Deku ran to her. She pulled herself back up.
"Oh, hi." She smiled. "Sure, I needed to talk to him, too. I'm sure Vlad King's informed him, anyway."
"I'll come." Neito grabbed his bag while she grabbed hers.
"How come you were looking for the missing student? Did you know him?' Deku asked, following her and Neito.
"Oh. No, Neito asked me for help."
"Where did you find him?'
Uraraka turned to Deku, excited.
"Oh, about that! Did you know there was a huuuuuge cave behind the waterfall? It's where we found him. It's amazing. I'll show you sometime!' She grinned, grabbing him by the hands in her excitement.
"O-o-oh, s-sure!' He blushed crazily.
Neito rolled his eyes behind Deku's back. "Class A trash." He mouthed.
She flipped him off. She found herself flipping him off more times than she could count.
"Where's lida?'
"Shinsou wanted to walk with us. He takes the train, too," Deku explained. "lida decided to wait with him."
"Oh," she said. "that's awesome."
She noticed the change of expression on Neito's face, the colour draining.
"You haven't talked to Shinsou?'
Shinsou had actually transferred to class B halfway through year two. He and Neito had become so close despite their different personalities-although, they balanced each other out better than she'd thought they would-and even formed a duo after graduating.
His death had hit Neito hard. They'd been inseparable, so Neito had barely known what to do, where to go, next when his other half was gone.
"Hey, Neito, wanna walk with us?' She said.
"what?' He hissed at her. She stepped past Deku to whisper into Neito's ear,
"He's not going to transfer to class B, so you'll have to try even harder to get close to him. I'm giving you an opening,"
Neito watched her, looking conflicted.
"I-I don't know." He bit his lip.
"You don't have to." Deku interrupted, trying not to force Neito into it.
"Come on. I know you take the train." Uraraka rolled her eyes.
Neito chuckled, relenting. He knew she was talking about all the times he'd walked right behind them, commenting and butting in on their conversations. He was always pretty rude back then and taunted them or made fun of whatever conversation they were having.
She'd found it extremely annoying then, but it was funnier now.
"Fine, fine." He relented. "But we still have to talk to Mr Aizawa,"
"Hey!' Deku called once they were done. "What did he say?'
Uraraka smirked at Neito, "Nothing," they said, in unison.
...
"Mr Aizawa?' Uraraka knocked on the door and waited.
"Come in," A tired voice called. Neito pushed the door open, and the two stepped in to see the room was dark. There was a pile of paperwork. Aizawa looked at the paperwork like it was his biggest enemy.
It probably was. If Aizawa had to choose between paperwork or the league of villains, he'd still choose the latter.
"Uraraka, you didn't come to class," Aizawa said, getting straight to the point. "lida informed me you had something important to deal with."
Uraraka sighed. "Koda Koji from class B was missing. Neito asked for help, I chose to agree."
Aizawa nodded, appreciatively. He appreciated she was straight-forward, answered any question he could have and kept her reply short. Very practical, he thought.
"Still, I don't appreciate you skipping class whenever you feel like it." He pursed his lips, sternly.
"Sorry, sir," Uraraka said. She wasn't all that convincing, but she wouldn't do anything to truly get in trouble.
"Now," Aizawa leaned forward, a little conspiratorially. "Why exactly did Monoma think it was clever to get you involved?'
Uraraka forced her muscles to relax. Act normal, she told herself. "Whenever he's had a problem, I'm the one to normally solve it. Habit, I guess."
Aizawa smiled unnervingly. "Is that so? You two live quite far away," He slid two files across. "You think we don't know the hometowns of our students?'
Uraraka calmed her racing heart, and smiled in return, hoping her discomfort didn't show. "I live in an apartment by myself. Surely, you don't think I come all the way to school from Kansai?'
"Um, we met each other online. We met in real life when she moved to the apartment, about a year ago. We got pretty close when we realised we were aiming for the same school." Neito clarified, lying pretty effortlessly.
Well.
Aizawa narrowed his eyes, but he couldn't argue with that. "Childhood friends, hm?'
She gripped the edge of her skirt tightly, just because she needed something to hold onto.
Uraraka nodded, a little stiff. God, she was a terrible liar and she was having a real hard time stopping herself from jumping up and shouting "I'M ACTUALLY A TWENTY-FOUR YEAR OLD WHO DIED AND CAME BACK IN TIME!'.
"Alright," Aizawa waved her away, already uninterested. Of course, she knew behind the facade. "I better not catch you again."
She smiled brightly, thankful their secret was safe. "Also... I was wondering...could Momo be the rep instead of me? I mean, she had this authority over those students today. The way she thought on her feet and acted like a leader. I can't help but think she's more worthy."
Aizawa sighed. "Fine. lida is rep, and Momo is vice rep."
"Thanks!' Neito was also smiling, although, he was far more in control.
She wondered how she didn't notice how mature he'd gotten before, but he must really work hard to stop himself from making rude comments. Ha!
...
"Ah." Deku said, unsure. "if you say so."
"I told you it was unwise to simply just leave," lida said, having noticed them. Shinsou followed behind.
Neito tensed beside her, and she slipped her hand in his. The gesture didn't go unnoticed by Deku and Shinsou, or Neito himself, who squeezed her hand gratefully. Shinsou raised his eyebrow at her, while Deku just blushed a little.
Obviously, the greenette was jumping to conclusions and Uraraka was a little shy herself, but Neito needed her. After all, they could only rely on each other, now.
"It was important," Uraraka said again, still not elaborating.
lida sighed, "alright, alright,"
He started walking and Deku followed his lead. Shinsou fell in step with her and Neito, and Uraraka nudged him. Neito gulped, and she could see his skin pale.
She felt a little bad forcing him to confront Shinsou so soon, remembering how it had felt for herself, now. But, Neito took a deep breath and leaned over her.
"H-Hi. You're Shinsou Hitoshi, right?' He sent a strained smile.
"How do you know his name?' Deku asked curiously from up ahead. Neito pointed at Uraraka.
"And you are...?' Shinsou inquired, stoically.
"I'm Monoma Neito," Neito said, his voice cracking a little. Uraraka hoped she was the only person who noticed. "Class 1-B,"
Uraraka purposefully moved over to lida to ask him what it felt like to be rep. He was surprised she'd heard already.
"Mr Aizawa told me. I, um, actually gave Momo vice rep. I mean, I don't think the class knows yet, but I told Mr Aizawa and he was fine with it." She explained.
"Really?' Midoriya asked, chuckling. "I guess you must've really been inspired by lida and Momo, too!'
lida shook his head in modesty, at their compliments. Uraraka glanced back to see a happy sight. Shinsou was saying something. He looked annoyed, but she could see the slightest hint of a smile tug at his lips.
There was only one obstacle left for them to overcome now.
Shigaraki Tomura.
or should I say
Shimura Tenko?
