Chapter 11: An Upheld Promise

Rin's POV
From where they couldn't see me, I watched Miku and Len's conversation, but it looked like Len was done talking to her.

"Where are you going?" Miku asked him.

"If I play my cards right, I'm going to finish a book. I've been getting lots of distractions while reading. It's a really good book." Len said as he put his hand on the doorknob, turned it, opened it, and then closed it behind him after walking inside.

I flew towards the back of the ship to his office/room. I looked in to see him sitting down at his desk. He looked like he had just said something to Piko.

"It's a book about a girl who gets bullied by a mean blonde. I just started it." Piko said.

"Sounds sad." Len said as he continued reading whatever chapter he was on in his.

"I guess we'll just see." Piko said.

I decided to turn away after that.

I began to fly through Neverland, but I was going to visit Mikuo again.

You know what I promised him.

Or rather, what I promised Miku.

Before I knew it, I had already flown out of Neverland. I flew all the way back to where I had found Miku and her twin brother.

I was now looking through every window of every house. When I had finally found an open window, I looked in to see the boy staring at his empty sister's bed. I knew it was him, so I flew right into that bedroom.

"Hello!" I said happily.

He didn't even move.

"...Hello?" I said after a few more minutes, making sure to say it a bit louder in case if he hadn't heard me before.

He finally turned around, and like with all the others-except Miku-he looked shocked to see me.

"Is this real?" He asked literally as soon as he saw me.

"Yes." I said, about to say something sarcastic to him.

"W-Why are you here? Are you a pixie?" He said as he backed up.

I just flew towards him.

"It's okay. I'm not gonna hurt you. And yes, I'm a pixie." I said.

"How can I trust you?" He said, raising a brow as he now crossed his arms. He looked more suspicious than scared/surprised by now.

Actually, I guess I'd say he was both scared and surprised earlier.

"You can trust me because I'm not going to hurt you." I said with a smile, making sure to look as warm as I could so I could gain his trust.

"And how am I supposed to trust you because of something like that?" He asked.

I mentally sighed. I was going to recruit this kid to be Peter Pan, but with all this questioning, maybe I should find someone else.

Wait. No, no, I made a promise to Miku that I said I was gonna keep. This kid's gonna be the new Peter Pan no matter what he does or says.

Even though he's pretty difficult to recruit at the moment...

No matter what happens, I AM going to keep that promise.

"You just can. Now what's your name?" I asked.

"...Mikuo." The boy said as he crossed his arms.

"Nice name. Now come with me." I said.

"No." He said, rooting himself to the teal carpeting.

"Keep it together, Rin." I thought as I still kept that smile on my face.

"Do you actually think I'm going to trust some fairy that just flew into my bedroom window? Guess again." He said.

"I'm a pixie." I said.

"Same thing." He said.

"They're really not." I responded. I was beginning to lose it.

"Fairy." He said.

"Pixie."

"FAIRY!"

"PIXIE!"

"FFFAAAAAIIIIIIIIIRRRRRRRRYYYYYY!"

OKAY, THAT'S IT! I'm done being nice!

"Okay, kid, listen! I kidnapped your sister and made a promise to her that I was gonna take you with me. Now come with me!" I said, my smile fading as I gripped onto his finger with my tiny hands.

"Yeah right." He said as he rolled his eyes, clearly not believing me.

I really,really don't think I like this kid.

"Where else do you think she's gone?" I asked as I crossed my arms as well.

Mikuo uncrossed his arms as he looked confused.

"Well, I guess you're right..." He said.

"Now come on. I've wasted enough time here." I said as I tried grabbing his finger with both hands, but he started shaking his hand, making me dizzy as I let go.

I just sat there on the ground as I tried to regain composure.

"What was that for?" I said after at least a minute, looking up at him from my place on the carpet.

"I can walk on my own, you know." He said as he started walking past me. I looked behind me to see where he was going.

He was going to the window.

"Yeah, I know that." I muttered, but got up and flew towards him, not bothering to dust myself off.

Once I was at his side, I looked at the expression on his face. He looked angry, but maybe he was just determined.

Determined for what, you ask?

Determined to get his sister back, of course!

The wind blew on his hair and clothes, making the expression on his face seem even cooler. He turned his head to look at me.

"You're absolutely sure you know where my sister is?" He asked.

I knew he was just trying to make sure, but I couldn't help but get at least a little irritated at his words.

"Of course I don't! Why else would I come here?" I thought.

"Yes." Is what I ended up saying.

Because, as you know, I really DID know where she was despite what I just thought.

Sarcasm.

"Alright, fine. I guess I trust you now." Mikuo said as he turned around.

"But there's something I need to do first." He said as he started walking over to what I assumed was his side of the room.

"And what's that?"

"I need to get changed." Mikuo said as he started undoing the buttons of his shirt.

"Get changed? For what?" I asked.

"I can't just fly around in my pijama's." Mikuo said as he threw his shirt off him, revealing a body that was slightly muscular, but only slightly.

"Actually, you can. Your outfit changes as soon as you come with me to Neverland." I said.

I know, I know. I guess I should've said it sooner.

But in my defense, it's not like I knew he was gonna change his clothes!

"Why couldn't you tell me sooner?" Mikuo growled as he turned around and crossed his arms.

"Because I didn't know you'd change your clothes!" I said, raising my hands as if I were shielding myself.

But instead, I heard a sigh come from Mikuo.

"Guess I should've told you instead of just saying I had to change clothes." He said as he walked back to the window.

Once he was there, I flew in front of his face.

"So what do I d-" He started to say something, but I cut him off.

"If you were going to ask me what you had to do to become Peter Pan, I'll tell you. All you need to do is jump out the window, but not before I do this." I said.

I flew over his head and began to dance. My pixie dust came off me, fell over his head, and scattered around him on the floor.

Once I had finished, I flew back in front of his face.

"After that, all you need to do is jump out of the window." I said as I flew backwards and floated in place in the middle of the outside city.

Like smack dab in the middle. Right between Mikuo and Miku's house and some other house.

"You're sure?" Mikuo asked as he stood on the windowsill.

I get it. I get that he was scared. I guess I would be scared too if I were him.

But in the end, I was absolutely sure.

"Yes, Mikuo, I'm sure! Now jump!" I said.

Before Mikuo jumped off of the windowsill, he closed his eyes. He jumped off the windowsill.

But when he opened his eyes, he found himself floating. I flew next to him.

And you know what I did?

I smiled at him.

"See, Mikuo? I told you I was sure." I said.

His outfit had also changed, too. It looked a lot like Len's outfit, except Mikuo's outfit was a darker green and the brown trousers that Len had were black on Mikuo.

Mikuo began flying in the air.

"Hey! I can fly!" Mikuo said as he did sommersaults and flips in the air.

"And you thought this was fake, didn't you? Now follow me and we'll get to Neverland before you know it!" I said.

For the first time in a while, Mikuo didn't even question me. He just kept his mouth shut and followed me all the way to Neverland.

Once I got there, I noticed it was day time now. Afternoon at the very least.

Not only that, but I also noticed that some of the place had been damaged. It was as if a few cannon balls had hit certain parts of Neverland.

Oh Len, what have you done...?
