Animal Crossing In Action: Live At The Island
Chapter 13: Granddaughter Of All Turnips
In the middle of the night, Vicki started to have a dream, but not just an ordinary dream though. She was in the place that she had never seen or been there before. She was in her hero form for some reason. She looked around her surroundings, and all she ever saw was fog all over the place. Then, she noticed the familiar figure who was approaching to her. As soon as the fog started to clear up a little, she saw Robert, in his hero form as well.
"Hey Phantom Angel, what is this place?" Masked Swordmaster asked.
"I have no idea..." Phantom Angel replied. "But something tells me that we're not in Triforce?"
"Well if we are, then we are still here in the dream version. Otherwise, where are we exactly?"
"You two are in the dream realm..." said the female voice.
Phantom Angel and Masked Swordmaster turned around and saw the shadowy figure who was surrounded by the fog. Her appearance was concealed with both darkness and fog, including her face. They couldn't tell whether she was a human or an animal. They wanted to take a closer look at her, but the female figure stepped away from them.
"I apologized, but you two mustn't..." said the voice calmly.
"Then, tell us exactly who you are..." said Phantom Angel quietly.
"And why can't you reveal yourself?" Masked Swordmaster asked.
The mysterious figure ignored the dynamic duo's questions and started to walk away. She forgave them for not giving her answers until further notice. All of the sudden, she disappeared into the fog and the dream turned into the end.
Vicki immediately woke up from her dream and discovered that it was morning. She looked at her smartphone to see of what day it was, and it turned out to be Sunday. Since it was Sunday morning, this could only mean that the turnip seller was here. She quickly got dressed before she was heading outside.
Vicki quickly left her house and was in a big rush to find the turnip seller. All of the sudden, she found the young boar who was wearing the blue dress with the red sash, white headscarf, and carried the bowl of turnips on her head. She waved at the little boar and called out her name.
"Hey Daisy Mae, good morning!" said Vicki enthusiastically.
"Ah, good morning, Vicki!" said Daisy Mae happily. "Are you interested in buying the turnips from me?"
"Yes, I'll buy about...let me see...I'll take five hundred turnips from you."
"Sold!" Daisy Mae took Vicki's bells as her payment and gave her five hundred turnips.
Vicki grabbed a bunch of turnips from Daisy Mae after she paid the amount of bells to her. She suddenly ran into Robert who decided to buy turnips from Daisy Mae. But he noticed that his girlfriend was carrying a lot of turnips around her arms.
"Whoa, Vicki, do you need help?" Robert asked.
"No, I got this," Vicki replied, "but I appreciated your help though."
"Okay, have it your way..."
When Vicki went straight back to her home with lots of turnips in her arms, Robert was thinking of how many turnips he would buy. Then, he figured it out of what the amount of turnips he planned to buy from Daisy Mae.
"I would like to purchase one thousand turnips, please," said Robert, giving out the medium sack of bells to Daisy Mae.
"Sold! One thousand turnips, coming right up!" said Daisy Mae excitedly, as she took the bag of bells from Robert and gave him lots of turnips.
Sammy and Jimmy were watching Robert carried all the turnips after he paid them to Daisy Mae. As soon as he went off to his house, the twins came to see the little boar and wanted to buy the turnips from her, too. Daisy Mae asked them of how many they wanted; and they told her that they wanted 1,500 turnips from her. So, she told them a total price for the amount of turnips. They took out the amount of bells from their pockets and quickly threw them to Daisy Mae. They immediately took 1,500 turnips from her and ran to their home as they could. When she counted the bells, she noticed that the twins gave her just a few bells, but there were lots of bells that they still owed her. She quickly spotted them and ran towards them to block their way.
"Excuse me, you two..." said Daisy Mae abruptly. "You gave me just a few bells, and you owed me a lot more than that!"
"Um..." Sammy and Jimmy stammered, after Daisy Mae saw right through them.
"So, what's it going to be? Either you guys pay me the rest of the remaining amount of bells or I'm taking back all the turnips from you!"
Sammy and Jimmy flinched after Daisy Mae gave them a warning. Then, they immediately gave the young boar a prank by pointing at nothing in particular right behind her. When she turned around, she didn't see anything suspicious or amusing at all. As soon as she turned back around, she suddenly saw the Slapjack brothers running away with the turnips once again. Daisy Mae was furious that she's starting to chase after them.
Vicki and Robert left their homes once again after they stored some turnips in the fridge until one week had passed. They suddenly noticed Sammy and Jimmy who were being chased by Daisy Mae. She shouted at the twins to come back and pay the rest of the remaining amount, or she would take away the turnips from them. The duo found it very awkward that they had no idea of what's going on.
"Well, you don't see that everyday, now do you?" Robert asked flatly.
"Tell me about it..." Vicki sighed.
Vicki and Robert were still watching Sammy and Jimmy were running around while they were being chased by Daisy Mae. Then, they were rushing between them and told them to get out of their way. Vicki squealed and put her hands up in the air while Robert stepped away calmly. After the three ran between them, Robert closed Vicki's mouth and put her hands down for her. When Daisy Mae threw the tree branches at Sammy and Jimmy, they immediately stopped their tracks.
"Boar hoof kick!" said Daisy Mae in triumph.
After the little boar kicked the twins' butts, Sammy and Jimmy crossed their eyes as they felt the pain they had never felt before. They dropped the turnips and immediately rubbed their butts very gently. Vicki and Robert wouldn't believe their eyes after they saw the whole scene.
"Daisy Mae is a very feisty boar, unlike her grandmother Joan..." Robert suggested.
"I know, right?" said Vicki. "I'm guessing she must've watched too many anime shows..."
"Wait, what? S-Seriously?" Robert raised his eyebrow and glanced at Vicki in an odd way.
Daisy Mae grabbed all of the turnips back from the Slapjack brothers. As soon as she left them injured, there was a girl standing behind the tree and watched the young boar go. She was eyeing on her very closely and chose her as her number one target.
"Well, well, the little squirt has some skills, eh?" said Marnie quietly. "I'll show her some moves no matter what! Heh heh heh!"
The next day, Sammy and Jimmy were sneaking up to Robert's house for the first time. Sammy told his younger brother to sneak up behind his house while he was planning to distract the island representative. As soon as Jimmy rushed behind the house, his older brother knocked on the door. Robert answered the door and found Sammy dropping by for a visit.
"Well, this is a rare occasion..." Robert muttered to himself, before he spoke to Sammy. "Err, ahem...Hello Sammy, what are you up to?"
"Um...I just wanted to say hi?" Sammy replied, as he wasn't so sure of what he's going to say next.
Robert looked at Sammy dumbfoundedly and made a wry smile. "Um, okay...So, um, yeah...Question, what are you seriously up to?"
While Sammy was having a chat with Robert as a distraction, Jimmy quickly opened the window from the back of the house. After he successfully opened it, he went right through it and snuck up the kitchen quietly. He opened the refrigerator and found a bunch of turnips. He couldn't take them all, but he only stole half of them by stuffing into his jacket and quickly went back outside by going through the window. Before Jimmy could give Sammy a signal, he bumped into Vicki who was blocking his way.
"Jimmy, what the heck are you doing?" Vicki asked.
"Uh, well...how can I put it this way?" Jimmy asked, before he could answer Vicki's question. But few seconds later, one of the turnips fell from his jacket. Jimmy was shocked when he didn't see that coming, but Vicki, on the other hand, knew of where this was going.
"Jimmy?" Vicki glared at him sternly.
"Y-Yeah?" Jimmy smiled nervously.
When Sammy was still having a conversation with Robert who was starting to get bored, they suddenly heard someone groaning in pain. As soon as they turned around, they saw Jimmy who was being pulled by Vicki. She immediately released his ear and pushed him in front of the boys.
"Guess who I found..." said Vicki, with the grin. "I caught Jimmy stealing some of your turnips from your house, Robert."
"He did what now?" Robert asked, as he was looking at Jimmy in shock before he glared at Sammy. "Sammy, what's the meaning of this? Is this really the scheme you and Jimmy are plotting?"
"Uh, well, you see..." Sammy stammered, as his plan ended up with the failure.
Vicki started to tickle Jimmy on some areas of his body. He tried not to laugh, but he couldn't resist at all. He laughed so hard that he couldn't stop and made himself dropped the turnips from his jacket. Robert wouldn't believe his eyes that Jimmy really stole some of his turnips from his house. After every last of the turnips were dropped from his jacket, Vicki stopped tickling him and shoved him aside.
"I think I finally know where this is going," said Robert, as he finally came up with the conclusion. "One of you planned to distract me while another tried to steal some of my turnips for the sake of your profits! Is that right?"
"Great, now you figured it out about our plan!" Sammy admitted, as he and Jimmy ran off.
"You two could've at least buy your own turnips next time!" Vicki shouted. "Daisy Mae sells turnips every Sunday morning, you know! So, you two better not forget that!"
After the Slapjacks' plan failed and ran away, Vicki and Robert picked up the turnips that Jimmy stole from his refrigerator. They immediately returned them to the refrigerator safe and sound. Robert was very amazed and asked Vicki of how she found out. His girlfriend explained to him that she saw Jimmy walking around the house when she was doing the dishes. So, she quickly walked around the opposite side and suddenly caught him filling up his jacket full of turnips.
"It's a very good thing you stopped Jimmy just in time," said Robert. "Otherwise, he and Sammy would've gotten away with my turnips if it weren't for you."
"Yeah, their dumb plans are always failing as ever..." said Vicki flatly, while Robert laughed at her statement.
Few nights later, Vicki was asleep in her bed and started to have a dream. She dreamed about the same silhouette whom she and Robert encountered for the first time. Her appearance was still concealed and the fog was still surrounding her as always. The mysterious figure immediately told the dynamic duo to defeat the Deadly Stars first. One of the duo asked of how they were supposed to do that; and then the figure responded to that question was they should unleashed their powerful attacks with all their might. Once again, she left them behind and told them farewell until they would meet again someday.
It's eight in the morning, Vicki immediately woke up from her dream. She realized of what day it was, and it turned out to be Sunday. This could only mean that Daisy Mae has finally arrived and began selling her turnips. So, Vicki hurried to get dressed before she went out to see Daisy Mae.
Daisy Mae was wondering around Triforce, selling turnips to everyone. Magpie was flying by and finally found the little boar on land. So, she reported it to Marnie after they waited over one week for Daisy Mae to arrive. It's time to take action for the evil actress to put up her own show. The young boar was minding her own business until she ran into Marnie who stopped her tracks.
"Hello, you little runt!" said Marnie, as Daisy Mae turned around and saw her shockingly. "Don't mind if I can capture you?"
Daisy Mae panicked and started to scream as she was running away from Marnie. The actress was chasing after her and the little boar started to throw some fruits at her to slow her down. Magpie came to help her partner and went after Daisy Mae while she was recording the video with her spy camera. She immediately distracted her for a couple of minutes until Marnie caught her right away. Daisy Mae flustered as she was swinging her arms and legs while she was yelping, like a crybaby.
"Stop squirming already and be a good little boar, will you?" Marnie shouted, while she was holding on to Daisy Mae.
While Vicki and Robert were walking, they found Marnie who was grabbing Daisy Mae tightly. They both quickly headed to the hidden area and began their transformations. Then, the dynamic duo rushed to stop Marnie and save Daisy Mae. Phantom Angel immediately kicked her on the back and caught the little boar in her arms safely.
"Are you alright, Daisy Mae?" the angel asked.
"Yes, I'm a...okay now, thank you!" Daisy Mae replied, being bashful. "I'm very glad that you saved my life!"
Phantom Angel told Daisy Mae to go somewhere safer and so, the little boar did. She and Masked Swordmaster fought against Marnie and took out their weapons. The actress took her magical cane and summoned her duplication balls to aim at the dynamic duo. They quickly dodged them and tried to counter them as they could. Masked Swordmaster activated his sword's power into a frosty sword and slashed the balls as they were slowing down in order to freeze them before they were broken into small pieces of ice. Phantom Angel used her staff to knock out the balls to counter them. One of the countered balls was aiming straight to Magpie, who was recording the video, and sent her flying faraway. Then, the other countered balls were aiming at Marnie, who tried to avoid them as she could. One ball hit her stomach, the second ball hit one of her legs, and the third ball was caught by her mouth. Finally, Marnie was defeated after she fell to the ground. Suddenly, Phantom Angel felt her heart staff's power as she was ready to call out her ultimate attack.
"Dreamy heart wave attack!" Phantom Angel shouted, as the magical heart wave annihilated Marnie, and the actress was finally killed off.
After Marnie was disposed from Triforce, Phantom Angel learned her new ultimate attack. Masked Swordmaster realized of what the mysterious figure said about unleashing their powerful attacks to them in their dreams. Finally, they came up with the conclusion.
"Ah, of course, unleashing our ultimate attacks is what the unknown figure was talking about, correct?" Phantom Angel suggested.
"Yes, I believe that's what she meant when we started to eliminate the so-called 'Deadly Stars' or whatever she called them in order to unleash our ultimate, powerful attacks," Masked Swordmaster explained.
"Err, excuse me, is she gone now?" Daisy Mae asked meekly, while she was hiding behind the tree. The Duo of Justice were a little freak out, but more surprised that they had forgotten about the little boar. "T-The bad lady...d-did you two get rid of her now?"
"Oh yes, we got rid of her for good," Phantom Angel replied. "Don't you worry, she won't bother you anymore!"
"Ah, thanks a bunch! How can I ever repay you two for saving my life?"
"Uh, you don't really need to do that," said Masked Swordmaster. "It won't be necessary..."
Daisy Mae ignored the swordsman's statement and decided to hand over some turnips to the dynamic duo. "Here you go! One hundred turnips each, and they're in the house!"
The Duo of Justice were shocked that the young turnip seller gave them some turnips. They immediately refused to accept them, but Daisy Mae insisted them to take them from her own hooves for free.
"Um, are you sure about this, Daisy Mae?" Phantom Angel asked anxiously.
"W-What does your grandmother, Joan have to say about this if she was here and saw you handing us some turnips f-for free?" Masked Swordmaster asked nervously.
"Don't worry about that, Duo of Justice, my grandmother doesn't seem to mind at all even if she was here with me!" Daisy Mae replied. "Haven't you recently heard that she's retired in few months ago? This is why I'm taking her place and becoming her successor!"
"Good for you, Daisy Mae!" said Phantom Angel excitedly. "I hope your grandmother will be very proud of you!"
"Yeah...and we have to go now," said Masked Swordmaster. "So, see you later! And tell your grandmother to say 'hi' for us!"
"I will! And see you both later!"
After the Duo of Justice left, Daisy Mae was very proud that she would become the best turnip seller, just like Joan, in Triforce. Sammy and Jimmy tip-toed very quietly and carefully took one or two turnips from her hat. Suddenly, they got kicked on their crotches by the little boar after she caught them stealing some from her hat. The twins bent down and groaned in agony when they felt a lot of pain in their crotches. Vicki and Robert were walking from the opposite side and found the Slapjacks walking in a difficult way while they were crying in pain.
"Hey Sammy and Jimmy, what's the matter?" Robert asked, as he tried not to laugh.
"Don't even bother asking, Goldstein!" Sammy moaned. "Just leave us alone..."
"Yeah, leave us alone, will you?" Jimmy cried, as he and Sammy went home while walking in a strange way.
As soon as Sammy and Jimmy were out of sight, Vicki and Robert were bursting with laughter that they couldn't stop. Even Daisy Mae thought it was funny since she kicked Sammy and Jimmy on their crotches in order to teach them a lesson for stealing the turnips from her.
"My apologies for that..." said Daisy Mae, changing her subject. "But anyways, back to business! Buy any amount of turnips as you want, folks!"
Finally, Vicki and Robert were planning to buy some turnips from Daisy Mae. The young turnip seller respected her customers, just like Joan did in the past.
