Watson felt very weird being around the TARDIS fam. Without Sherlock he was a bit lost if he was being honest. Not only that it seemed that the Doctor was very odd, maybe even odder than Sherlock was! Graham just seemed to talk about sandwiches and Yas and Ryan didn't seem any better.

"So where exactly are we going?" Watson asked for about the third time since they had left the ground.

"I told you. We're going to the old factory just outside the town." The Doctor sighed.

"Why are we going there?" Ryan backed Watson.

"It's the best place for aliens to hide. No one bothers to go there anymore." The doctor answered.

Watson and Ryan nodded at each other. It was nice to have someone to support Watson on anything TARDIS based. Even though he had thought Graham was the most likely to be like that.

"Do you know who might be there doc?" Yas asked keeping the questions coming for the doctor.

"Sort of but I don't know if they would go through something like this." The doctor paused.

Sherlock had moments like this. Mind palace he called it. It was like people just go into their own world for a moment. The doctor then suddenly came back to life again.

"What was all that about Doc?" Ryan chuckled.

"Nothing." The doctor chuckled back.

Graham took Watson to one side once the other three were talking again. Watson was a bit surprised by this but spending everyday with Sherlock he suspected the unexpected.

"Are you sure Sherlock can't come on this mission?" Graham whispered.

"That's what Mycroft said." Watson whispered back.

"We might need him that's all." Graham nodded over to the others gathered in the console.

Watson sighed as he looked to where Graham was nodding. He was right. Sherlock really needed to be on the case. However, Watson didn't want to go against Mycroft. Sherlock had always said Mycroft was not a person to trifle with.

"You try and argue with Mycroft." Watson smirked as he walked back to the console.

Graham gave a confused look and then joined the group again. Watson really wanted to tell Sherlock what they were up to.

Sherlock had had just about enough of sitting around. Even if Mycroft had stopped him, he had to do something. He got up from his chair but as soon as he did, a knock came at the door of the apartment.

"Who's that then?" Mrs Hudson asked going down to the door.

"Well go and answer it and you'll find out." Sherlock shrugged.

Mrs Hudson tutted and walked down the stairs. Sherlock paced around the room.

"Who is it?" Mrs Hudson said as she opened the door.

"Kate Stewart." A woman's voice came back.

Sherlock looked down the stairs to see Kate coming in. Sherlock liked Kate and didn't seem to mind when she told him off.

"Kate!" Sherlock called down with a smile on his face.

Kate smiled back at him. Mrs Hudson let Kate in with a bit of a tut. She didn't like women she didn't know coming into the apartment. Plus she wasn't in a good mood anyway.

"What are you doing here?" Sherlock welcomed Kate with open arms.

"I came around to discuss the mission with you." Kate said sitting down.

"I thought you weren't allowed?!" Sherlock said, crossing his arms.

"I'm not but I don't care what Mycroft says!" Kate brushed the hair out of her face.

"At least someone doesn't." Sherlock smiled.

"Where's John?" Kate looked around.

Sherlock bowed his head down. Kate could tell that was a sensitive subject so tried to change the subject.

"So you want to know how it's going?" Kate changed.

"Yes I definitely would!" Sherlock sat down across from Kate.

Kate went into detail. Sherlock listened to her every word, he wanted to know everything that was going on without him being there. Kate didn't care what Mycroft would say. She needed to tell Sherlock something.

"So that's how it's going." Kate finished.

"Sounds boring!" Sherlock said to try and reassure himself that it wasn't worth bothering with.

"Oh come on Sherlock! I know you want to be in this case." Kate smirked.

"Maybe. Would I tell you if I did?" Sherlock jokes.

"Probably not." Kate chuckled.

The two chuckled with Mrs Hudson just listening in. It was nice to see Sherlock with someone else. With Molly away for a few months on a work holiday, it was nice for Sherlock to have someone to talk to. Kate got up from her seat and said her goodbyes.

"She seems nice." Mrs Hudson said when Kate was gone.

"She is." Sherlock mumbled.

"Why isn't she invited around here more often?"

"I don't know."

"Sherlock?"

"What?" Sherlock looked up.

Mrs Hudson just smiled as she went back to the kitchen. Sherlock thought nothing of it. Mrs Hudson always blew up situations. I mean she thought Watson and Sherlock were a couple for a while!

000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000

The TARDIS finally landed. Watson felt a little bit sick but the Doctor said it was to be expected on someone's first journey in the TARDIS. Watson got up from the floor where he had fallen after the landing. If there was one thing against the Doctor, it was she wasn't very good at landing!

Graham helped Watson up and they both walked out of the TARDIS last. The Doctor put her hands on her hips when they got out. Yas and Ryan waited for her to do something.

"So what do we do now?" Watson asked.

"Shush she's thinking." Graham whispered with a smile.

Watson nodded as they all waited for the Doctor to do something. She finally got out of her way of thinking and turned to her team.

"We need to go inside." The Doctor revealed, even though it was what everyone was thinking.

"It'll be dark in there doc." Graham suggested as he got a torch out of his jacket.

"I know. Just keep close." The Doc urged.

The team all nodded as they stepped into the old factory. Watson hated going to old things. That's he never liked going to museums with Sherlock. Plus it didn't help that Sherlock told too much information about everything they saw.

Graham was right as they approached the opening. What lay in front of them was just complete darkness. Graham turned his torch on even though it didn't do much use.

"Maybe this will help." The Doctor chuckled as she turned the sonic screwdriver on.

"I'm still going to use this." Graham pointed at the torch. He didn't really trust the screwdriver as it seemed to do some really weird stuff.

"It's up to you." The Doctor shrugged as they went further and further into the building.

The building smelt awful! It smelt like pickled onions mixed in with rotten eggs. Imagine that! Also the whole place was covered in dust and cobwebs which meant people hadn't been there in years. Watson shuddered as they carried on walking.

"Maybe we should go." Yas suggested obviously being a little bit scared.

"We'll be fine." Ryan reassured her.

Watson couldn't really see where the voices were coming from but it was reassuring that he could still hear them close to him. He went a little bit faster in walking to catch up with the Doctor just in front of him.

"I've got something to admit doc." He whispered.

"Really? What's that?" The Doctor asked.

"I'm a bit scared. I usually leave Sherlock to do this sort of stuff." Watson admitted.

He felt the Doctor stifle laughter as her shoulders went up and down. Watson stopped as she shone her torch on his face.

"What's so funny?!" Watson groaned.

"Nothing. Just that sounds so much like Sherlock!" The Doctor kept back laughter.

Watson went to say something but something stopped him in his tracks. The rest of the group turned to where he was staring. Right there in front of them was a cybermouse.

"What on earth is that?!" Watson shuddered.

"A cybermouse." Ryan whispered.

"We're not alone." The Doctor said.

"We knew that!" Graham sighed, still a little bit shaken.

"Yes but did you know this…" A green light shone right in front of them, blinding them from seeing at all!
