A week had passed since the monster World shadow game and Ryo's arrival to Domino City. During this time however William wasn't his usual self. If anything William looked almost sickly. Dark circles were appearing under his eyes, and his normal skin tone was much paler than it should have been. He also been slowly distancing himself from his friends ever since he heard about the new teacher.
Ryo had been hanging out with William ever since the shadow game as he formed a stronger friendship with him. It also caused Ryo to hang out more with Yugi and his friends as well. However more than once Ryo would invite William over to play more Monster World or Dungeon and Dragons with him. This usually happened when Ryo would catch William after a late chorus class rehearsal.
However Yugi was getting very worried about William's well being. From what Yugi could tell was that William's smiles looked even more forced and his usual laughter now held a very strong bitter sound to it, that almost held a hint of pure madness as well as a very deep undertone of pure rage and a very deep festering hatered within it. Needless to say it was a rather disturbing laugh.
"Hello earth to Yugi, you okay man?" Joey asked him as he waved his hand in front of Yugi's face to get his attention out of concern.
"I'm worried about William. He's not himself." Yugi said softly as he finally voiced his concerns out loud. His friends all shared the same concerned look as Yugi.
"You're not the only one...we all are, Yugi. However William, claims it's just from all the late night studying for the school achievement tests coming up, but I honestly think it has more to do with his memories and how some of his more darker memories are coming back to him." Ryo said softly. "I know William and I have been hanging out more often since that Monster World incident but even I am deeply concerned for his well being. He's not himself from what I can see. He seems to be on guard a lot more than usual. I even heard that he recently joined the archery club as well as the fencing club."
"I heard about that...the archery captain is now scared to death of William's skills since he never missed a single target and had always hit the target dead center. The archery captain is afraid William is out to take his place as Captain. The fencing captain was over joined to have someone on the same level as her for a change." Tea said.
"I don't think William taking up archery or fencing is a good idea. It might make him violent...I mean with his odd behavior...it could lead him down a dark path." Tristan said frowning.
"If you really think about it, William's odd behavior shouldn't be that surprising guys, I mean out of all the memories that could have came back to him...it just had to be the one where his girlfriend is murdered along with all his classmates and his teacher. Only to end up hated by everyone around him for being the only survivor from that. Any normal person would have gone insane, from something like that. Maybe this is a way to get rid of that pent up aggression without him hurting anyone or himself. However we really should talk to him about this." Joey said softly with a frown.
"True. However we can't force William, to talk to us about his past...we just have to let him come to us, when he's ready to talk about it. The more we push him for answers, the more we risk breaking his trust with us." Tea said.
"I agree with Tea, as much as we would would all like to talk to William about what he remembers, we can't push it. He has to come to us first so we can support him the best that we can. Though...I'm surprised he has been handling this information as well as he has been considering his amnesia." Ryo said softly.
"Hey speaking of William, where is he? He's going to be late, which is rather unlike him." Tristan said in concern.
"No idea, I mean I know he's here since we walked to school together this morning." Yugi said blinking only for the classroom door to open as William than slowly entered the room looking worse than before.
"Oh my god...he looks like a walking Zombie from the walking dead or something." Joey said in concern as he held a freaked out expression.
"For once I agree with ya Joey." Tristan said.
"Yugi, was he this bad this morning?!" Ryo asked in fear as well as in concern for his friend's well being.
"No, he was more human than this." Yugi said with wide eyes of deep concern as he watched William's movements that almost resembled that of a zombie as he practically staggered to his desk as he took his seat. "William?" Yugi asked in concern only for William to suddenly pass out as his head smacked the surface of his desk rather hard. "William!? " Yugi yelled in concern as Ryo jumped out of his seat faster than the others as he went to check on him.
"He's out cold." Ryo said softly with wide eyes as he tried waking William up.
"We should get him to the nurse's office." Tea said in concern as she looked freaked out.
"Easier said than done...William is a lot heavier than he looks!" Joey grunted as Tristan and himself tried to pick up their unconscious friend before they gave it up for a lost cause only to cause William's head smacked the desk again.
"Don't smack his head like that!" Tea scolded the two.
"Maybe we should just let him sleep a bit?" Yugi suggested softly.
" Mrs. Chrono, will throw a fit Yugi. You know what she is like, you saw what she did to Joey two days ago." Ryo said frowning as he shook William's shoulder again in concern.
"Don't remind me...that bucket of water was cold." Joey said shuddering.
"Joey, your a heavy ass sleeper, you totally deserved it." Tristan said. Speaking of the witch, she just happened to walk into the room causing students to hurry to their desks.
"Alright class take your seats...Mr. Dracon no sleeping durring my class! " she shouted. William didn't move or respond. She growled as she stormed over to his desk. Before she could touch him, his eyes snapped open as his hand gripped her wrist in a death grip. His eyes having a bright unearthly crimson red glow within his golden amber color eyes giving him a truly demonic appearance.
The teacher froze in fear as she saw something not remotely human starring back at her with cold murderous looking eyes that held a unearthly presence to them before he slowly released her wrist.
"Sorry...all this late night studying has me a bit unwell...Mrs. Chrono. It won't happen again." William apologized as he eyes finally blinked as his eyes returned to their normal state.
She swallowed thickly. "Yes...well try not to fall asleep again okay?" She said nervously as she quickly walked back to the front of the room to place distance between him and herself. She than began teaching even though she looked deeply shaken up with her encounter with William.
William took his notes silently as he held a distant look on his face. He knew the reason for the dark circles under his eyes, only far too well. Past memories were tormenting him, causing old nightmares to awaken once again. Only this time his nightmares were taking a more sinister approach and turns with him.
His nightmares were now adding Yugi and his friends into the nightmares of his past, almost like a warning of a possible scenario occurring once more in a similiar fashion involving Mr. Ferris who may or may not be the same teacher who murdered his teacher, classmates and his girlfriend. It also didn't help when he had nightmares about a past life in ancient Egypt involving Pharaoh Atem, himself and the thief king Bakura.
With all the lies and guilt due to his current situation and now the returning nightmares. William could tell his mind was in complete turmoil, like an angry storm waiting to unleash it's fully fury. He could feel the very darkness in his soul threatening to break free of it's restraints as his mask began cracking even more as it threatened to reveal the true monster that he was inside.
He really needed to speak with Ishizu or Shadi soon or else he was going to go insane or do something he would seriously regret latter. he hoped the archery and fencing would help take him mind off things but instead it seemed to fuel that thirst for revenge, making it stronger than ever before.
William blinked when he felt his bracelet clamp down onto his wrist softly to pull him from his troubled mind. William glanced at it and sighed. Seems like my item has a weird way to comfort me. He thought as went back to his school work.
A few hours later in his computer class William noticed Kaiba looked ready to start yelling up a storm and yank his hair out during their free time. This was one of the classes that William had without Yugi or Yugi's friends in it. Not even Ryo was in this class.
"Kaiba, everything okay?" William asked as he glanced over Kaiba's shoulder to see what was wrong.
"Nothing to trouble yourself with...Dracon." Kaiba grumbled as he bitterly cursed under his breath as he used a scrap price of paper to do some problems before adding it on his computer screen. "Damn it, were the Hell am I messing up!?" Kaiba snarled. William who been silently reading the codes of data on the screen, he finally noticed a big error as Kaiba went back over the code of numbers trying to locate where he went wrong.
William recognised the problem almost instantly from all the times he helped his father fix old computers and helped him reprogram them. True the technology here was far more advanced but it still had the same configurations of codes of data that he was familiar with.
"Kaiba...forth line down...the center sequence of numbers...that is where the code is running into the most problems. If you fix that line of data everything should in theory run much more smoothly after that." William said softly.
" How would you possibly know that? " Kaiba grumbled as gave William a cold glare.
"I use to fix old computers with my dad...just useless information that actually stayed in my head...by the way just try reversing the numbers on that line...it should run smoothly after that, if not you can hit me in the face with that heavy book." William said calmly as he went back to his desk.
Kaiba than tried William's suggestion as he reversed the numbers on line four before hitting the run program button. Within seconds the program ran way more smoothly than before without any errors showing up. "Have you finished your deck yet? " Kaiba asked him not wanting to thank him for helping him with his computer system.
"Almost...just need to test it out first...than it's game time." William said with a smirk.
"Good...looking forward to it." Kaiba said before he suddenly tossed a duel monster card at him.
William caught it as he gave Kaiba a confused look. "It might help your deck...if you are who I think you are. Call it a reward for helping me." Kaiba said as he looked away.
William turned the card over only to smile. " Thanks...but are you sure you want me to have this? " he asked in evil amusement.
"I'm sure..." Kaiba said without looking at him.
" Okay...thanks for the blue eyes white dragon." William said grinning in a evil tone.
"Wait, what?!" Kaiba yelled in alarm as he spun around to face him.
"Got ya... "William said grinning as he showed off the card Kaiba have him. The card was known as Lord of Dragons.
"Not funny. Also how do you know I have Blue Eyes?" Kaiba grumbled.
"Oh lighten up...I saw the way you stared at my drawing that I gave you, so it would make sense if you had that card or cards hiding somewhere within your deck. Anyways I have a few cards that would catch your interest in a heart beat." William said softly.
"Oh yeah? Like what? " Kaiba asked just to humor him.
William smirked as he reached into his bag and suddenly pulled out three cards that made Kaiba' s eyes widen as his jaw dropped in disbelief. "I don't know...maybe cards that would help blue eyes white Dragon out a lot." William said calmly.
"Where did you get those!?" Kaiba demanded.
"Don't remember...but their yours if you want them." William said only to blink as Kaiba suddenly took the three cards rather quickly from him.
"What's the catch?" Kaiba asked him in suspicion.
"No catch...just promise me you'll take extra good care of those cards and use them sometime in a duel in the far future." William said calmly.
"Deal. However should you really be helping your rival out like this?" Kaiba asked him.
"Maybe, than again maybe not...hard to tell, but it makes things more of a challenge am I right?" William asked him.
"Tch...I think I'm starting to respect you just a tiny bit, Dracon. However you still have to prove to me, that you are who I think you are." Kaiba said. William said nothing more as he went back to studies. "By the way, you really should see someone about your sleeping problems Dracon...you are starting to look like a zombie and it's scarring people. I recommend seeing Dr. Sai."
"All this late night studying for those achievement tests in a few days is what's wrong with me." William grumbled.
"I highly doubt that, so I set up an appointment for you to see him...Just don't suddenly croak on me. You still owe me a duel, I need a healthy opponent to duel, so your appointment is the day after the test results are posted, three o'clock sharp." Kaiba said firmly as he handed William an appointment card. "Don't you dare skip out on this or I will hunt you down and drag you there kicking and screaming."
"I didn't know that you cared." William said smirking at him.
"I don't." Kaiba said.
"Could have fooled me, Kaiba." William muttered under his breath as Kaiba heard him.
"Dracon...just shut up before I hit you with a heavy book across that thick skull of yours." Kaiba growled at him in annoyance. William shook his head as he went back his studies.
"Whatever you say, Kai." William said only to yell as a book smacked him hard across the head. "What the fuck, Kaiba!!?"
"Just felt like it." He said with a smirk as William rubbed the spot where Kaiba hit him.
"Jerk." William grumbled bitterly.
After school William blinked when he saw Tea leaning against a wall waiting for him. She looked like she had been waiting for him, seeing how he had a late archery club after school activity. "Tea, what's up?" He asked her.
" William, do you think we could talk for a while as we walk?" Tea asked him while looking troubled.
"Uh sure, is everything okay? " William asked her as they walked.
"I'm not sure who to talk to...but I...well...you see...I been pretty distracted lately." She said softly while looking uneasy.
" About...? " William trailed off softly.
"I started getting a serious crush on someone." Tea said quickly in embarrassment. William sighed softly at this.
"Tea...I'm not good with relationship stuff or advise...you know how mine ended. Also shouldn't this be a talk with one of your female best friends forever or something, kind of talk?" William asked softly as he tested the waters between them.
"I'm going to pretend, I didn't hear that. Look, I know how your relationship ended...but I really need some advice...from a guy's point of view or rather from a over protective scary older brother's opinion on the matter. " Tea said looking embarrassed. "You see lately...I can't get this boy off my mind and I been thinking about him a lot lately. Not really sure what to do or say."
"It's Yugi...isn't it? " William asked her in a knowing tone.
"What?! How did you?! No...I mean... " Tea said in embarrassment as her face flushed. She couldn't deny that she been thinking about Yugi , well more like the other Yugi known as Yami.
"Tea, breathe. I was just guessing and it looks like I got the nail on the head. Look you have known Yugi far longer than me, you should know his likes and dislikes already...besides you should just tell him how you feel. We guys aren't mind readers, Tea." William said calmly as they walked.
"But how do I know if he is the one for me!? How did you know your girlfriend was the one!? I don't want to ruin our friendship because it didn't work out between us!" Tea said in a panic.
"Tea, I'm not a mind reader neither is Yugi...Also my situation with Selina was different. She made the first move not me, she knew I was her little brother Ryan's best friend and he was the one who first introduced me to her. However she was the one who made the first move to ask me out, by asking if I would like to watch a movie with her. Look I'm not sure what I can say or do to help you out with this, Tea. You are the one who needs to be true with your own emotions and to your own heart. However you could always try the portable love tester known as the lovely two... That I over heard some of girls in our school talking about it. Seems to be a very popular item with all the girls right now." William said feeling a bit uneasy as well as awkward about this whole conversation.
"The lovely two?" She asked softly.
"Yeah, it's some kind of device to see who your perfect match is or who you are most compatible with for a relationship. Basically you put some personal information into it and press a button. If another person has one of the lovely two and is your perfect match the device is suppose to make this beautiful sound of bells ringing in a musical sort of way. Almost reminds me of the musical lockets that Salina and I once had." William said sighing.
He than stopped as he wondered if he even still had his musical locket. It been so long since he last worn it, let alone heard it's haunting melody. Did he throw it into a fast moving river soon after her funeral in a fit of rage or did he just hide it from himself so he could try and forget everything? If he still has it it would be in his backpack if his memory was accurate.
"William?" Tea asked in confusion as he set his bag down on a bench as he suddenly went looking through his backpack. He than opened a inside pocket as he sudden pulled out a thin black chain that held a black heart shaped locket that had the image of a sea serpent on the lid of it along with a mermaid with the Dragon curled beside her in a protective sort of way.
"I still have it..." William said softly as his eyes held a deep haunting sadness in them. He closed his bag as he held the locket in his hand.
"What is it?" Tea asked in confusion as she looked at it.
" A music locket...Salina had one as well. We had the same image on our lockets. She always joked saying I was her big scary dragon protector and she was the sweet innocent mermaid who fell in love with it...only difference is that she was buried with her locket and as for me...I always keep this one with me but...I never truly wear it anymore. I thought I lost it forever after what happened. " William said before he opened the locket as it began playing a bueatiful but sad melody inside it.
"This song...it's bueatiful but it's so sad sounding." Tea said.
" It was a song that sort of brought Salina and I closer together after our first date. It never truly had any words to the song but we somehow found lyrics for it that some one else had created for the song on the internet. The song was from the movie, that we both saw together on our first date...I guess you could say." William said softly.
"Can you sing those lyrics?" Tea asked him softly. William was silent for a moment before he let out a soft sigh.

William softly sang the words as his locket played the melody softly before he closed it with a soft snap. Tea had tears shining in her eyes. She was right it was a sad but beautiful song. He placed the locket into his pocket. Tea noticed how sad William looked and felt horrible about reopening his past wounds.
"William...sorry...I didn't mean to reopen past wounds." Tea said softly.
"No it's fine, Tea...I would have eventually found the locket. Least now I know for sure that I still have it. Drove myself mad thinking I lost it forever in a fit of rage. Look just be true to your heart Tea, besides you never know Yugi, might like you just as much as you like him." William said with a knowing smile.
" William...do you know something that I don't about Yugi?" Tea asked him. Almost instantly William panicked.
Fuck!!!! Fuck!!!! Fuck!!!! Yugi would murder me if I reveal his deepest secret!!!!! William's mind screamed in sheer panic.
"Just remember be true to yourself Tea, and if you still have doubts just try the love tester or simply ask him out for a date or something just to see where it goes! Bye Tea, sorry to leave on short notice but I forgot I need to help Yugi's grandpa with the shop!!!!!!!" William yelled as he took off running leaving her blinking after him. Tea felt more confused about her emotions than before.
"The lovely two..." Tea said softly. Before a blush came over her face before she headed home. However she stopped at a shop that was advertising the love tester. Making her decision she went inside the shop.
Latter that same night. Yugi woke up as He heard a haunting melody playing ever so softly. Confused he got up and went to find the source of the music. Only to stop outside William's door. He hesitated outside the door. "You can come in Yugi...I'm not asleep." William 's soft voice said startling him. Yugi opened William's door hesitantly only to see him sitting in the window holding something in his hand that was playing the haunting melody.
William than closed the locket as he turned his head to face him. "How did you know it was me?" Yugi asked him softly.
"No idea to be honest...just a feeling." William said as his bracelet seemed to glow in the moon light in a unearthly sort of way. "So...why are you awake, Yugi?"
" I uh...heard music playing...it sort of lead me here. " Yugi said nervously. "However I could ask you the same thing."
"Just couldn't sleep...so I decided to do some more studying for a while." He said as Yugi finally noticed all the books and papers scattered about around the floor near the window. "I was taking a break...to clear my mind."
"That locket...was it...? " Yugi trailed off with a uneasy expression.
"Salina and I had identical twin lockets that played the same song...she still has hers and well...I still have mine." William said in a soft tone.
" Sorry! I didn't-! " Yugi started in a frantic tone.
"It's fine...you didn't know...and I don't exactly wear my locket anymore." William said as he moved away from the window. He walked over to his desk and set the locket down.
"William...you need to rest your starting to look more and more like a zombie." Yugi said I'm concern.
"Least I'm not craving human flesh yet or falling apart." William joked making Yugi shudder. "Kidding...I'll be okay Yugi, you shouldn't stress yourself over me. I know my body's limitations better than anyone. I'll be okay, just give me some time to sort things out inside my head." William said until he noticed his reflection. His reflection showed himself with a terrifying evil looking grin as the eyes seemed to be glowing solid blood red. "Yugi, I think you and I should head back to bed."
"Your right...see you in the morning. " Yugi said as he turned unaware when William's bracelet glowed. William closed his eyes only for eyes to open reveal his eyes glowing a solid blood red color. William revealed a terrifying demonic grin that would have put the Joker from the Batman series to shame as he revealed long nightmarish fangs in his mouth as dark shadow energy crackled softly around his feet softly. His shadow crept up the wall revealing a terrifying image of Anubis. He watched silently as Yugi left the room as the door closed with a soft click.
Three days latter. Ryo arrived at the game shop as Yugi's mom let him inside. William had his head down on the table practically sleeping as a plate held a morning breakfast sandwich resting on it. Feeling evil Ryo walked over and reached over to steal William's breakfast sandwich that William had gotten him hooked onto.
"Touch my sandwich Ryo Bakura, and you'll be missing your hand." William grumbled in warning as he opened an eye to glare up at him.
"William, you can always make another one...I haven't had breakfast yet this morning...I thought I was running late." Ryo complained as he gave him the sad puppy dog eyes..
"Tch...fine you can half of it." William grumbled.
"Yes!" Ryo laughed as he went to the counter to grab a knife to cut the sandwich in half with. He than happily helped himself too the larger portion of the sandwich as William rolled his eyes. "You know it's your own fault for getting me hooked on these, homemade breakfast sandwiches of yours, Wolfy." Ryo or rather Bakura said.
"I regret cooking you breakfast that morning, after you let me crash at your place when I was helping you study, Fluffy." William muttered.
"Liar, you enjoyed showing off your cooking skills and, don't call me fluffy." Bakura said as he happily ate his sandwich of two slices of butter toast with a lot of bacon, a fried egg, a light pinch of salt, a light dash of black pepper and pepper jack cheese just tasted so good.
"William, is Yugi up yet?" Yugi's mom asked.
"Yeah...He should be, seeing how I woke him up, so he could get ready for school." William grumbled bitterly as he than lightly smacked Bakura's hand away from the remaining slice of his breakfast before grabbing his part of the sandwich and quickly devoured it while sending the spirit of the ring a dark look. Bakura smirked before he blinked in confusion as he than noticed some white things in William's hair.
"Uh wolf, why do you have feathers in your hair?" Bakura asked as pulled one of the small white fluff material from William's hair as he reveal it to be a tiny feather. "Did someone loose a fight against a bird?" He teased.
"Yugi, hit me with a damn pillow this morning...when I woke him up. Feathers went everywhere." William grumbled bitterly. "I honestly thought I got all those damn fathers out of my hair."
Bakura rolled his eyes as he had an amused evil grin on his face as he began pulling out the remaining feathers from William's hair. "Well you missed a bunch of them...And yet your the one who calls me, fluffy." Bakura said.
"How about I call you, Florence instead?" William asked only to yell as Bakura pulled his hair none to gently.
"Oops my hand slipped, my bad." Bakura growled in annoyance as William gave him a dark look.
"Liar..." William hissed under his breath.
"I swear if that boy went back to bed, I'll strangle him!" Yugi's mother shouted making William and Bakura jump in fright. She walked towards the stairs and looked up at them. "Yugi! You are going to be late!!! Yugi!!!" she yelled.
"Any louder and she could wake the dead..." William said under his breath as Bakura laughed. "I was being serious...Bakura." He grumbled.
After not getting a response she growled in annoyance before the door bell rung making her go see who was at the door. Standing there was Tea who Yugi's mom happily let inside to wait for her son.
"Hey guys, are you waiting for Yugi as well?" Tea asked them.
"Not exactly I just came over to walk to school with William, we were going to head to school early to get some more studying in before today's big test." Ryo said as William yawned behind his hand.
"Maybe I can finally get some bloody sleep...after all this is over with." William said as he stood up to grab his backpack.
"Good luck to you guys." Tea said with a smile.
"Same, however I honestly think Joey, Tristan and Yugi are going to need a lot more luck than us, since they haven't studied for this. True I did try to help Yugi to study a few times but he often fell asleep or got distracted." William said nervously as he flinched at the sound of Yugi's mother screaming at Yugi as the sound of Yugi rushing around to get ready was heard in the back ground.
"Okay...okay William, let's go so we can study for a bit." Bakura grumbled as he lightly pushed William out the door and himself so they could study. William sighed as he let Bakura practically drag him away moments before Joey and Tristan arrived to walk to school with Yugi and Tea.
Yugi came rushing into the room. "Uh hey Tea, Tristan, Joey...wasn't Ryo and William just here?" he asked his friends.
"They headed to school already to do some late studying before the big test today." Tea said.
"Wait...you mean that test is today!?" Yugi, Joey and Tristan shouted in horror.
"Well, yes." Tea said slowly as they headed out the door to walk to school together
"Think we can cheat off William's test papers or his notes?" Joey said.
"Good luck with that...William has a weird habit of writing all his notes in Ancient Egyptian Hieroglyphics." Tea said as she remember William handing her his notebook only for her to stare in horror at the writing inside it before William remembering his mistake laughed nervously before he translated his notes for her to more readable language.
"We're so dead..." Tristan, Yugi and Joey said as their heads dropped. Tea smiled nervously at them.
School went by normally as the teachers said the results of the test would be posted at the end of the week in the hall way for everyone to see them.
However as William was at his locker when he heard his name. He turned his head to see a guy with long jet black hair and soul piercing yellow eyes starring at him. He was wearing a black leather jacket that had blue flames and metal silver skulls on the upper shoulders, on the cuffs of the sleeves, and near the bottom of his jacket, over a dark grey turtle neck style shirt, black leather pants that had chains on them, black fingerless gloves that had chains on them with small silver metal skulls near the knuckles. Around his upper arm was a thick silver band that held the image of a three headed dog holding a bloody ruby that held the eye of Horus in gold deeply embedded into the ruby.
"Egyptian puppy." he said coldly.
"Greek Soul Stealer." William said automatically without warning in a low growl. The two stared at each other before the guy smiled warmly at him.
"Still the same Egyptian puppy, that I remember...Here." He said before he than handed him a small box. "It's something, I was told to give you personally, William."
"Did Ishizu or Shaidi, give you this to give to me?" William asked in confusion.
"Ishizu might be my cousin as well as Marik and Odion but I haven't heard from them in months. Lastly I've never meet this Shaidi person, true i have heard of him but no. Look some guy, I bumped into who is going to be a new teacher here, asked me personally to give this to you. This sort of kills two birds with one stone since I was on my way to see you, anyways." the guy said shrugging his shoulders.
"Wait, your Ishizu's cousin?" William asked him with wide eyes.
"Yeah my mother was their mother's older twin sister who ran away to marry my father who worked as a doctor with one of the archeology teams in the area at the time. It's a long story...one you and I can talk about someday, while entertaining or tormenting lost souls of the dead. Look trust me or don't is your choice puppy but we death gods have always looked out for one another and had each other's backs. Shame you got demoted from God of the dead to lord of the dead. Anyways I am the keeper of the millennium god item called the Hades Flame, my name is Miyabi Tao. Isuzu once told me that our paths would meet and to relay a message to you. 'Evil from your past awakes once more, the past will repeat it self as your mask will shatter freeing the monster within your very soul fueled by the god, your past life and your own anger, two beings will fight, one will not survive as the other will loose his light even further into the darkness even with the pharaoh's help, a mother's death will release the first key to your power. Eventually light will die as the darkness takes hold until a balance is found as three souls will finally become one. A true lord of the dead will awake once more.' I gave you the message, so good luck, you will need it...lastly stop pretending to be a weak ass mortal...because you are not one of them, your one of us, kid. Also it's rather pathetic to pretend being weak, when in truth your far stronger than you are. Also my cousin Ishizu, said she would meet you at Domino Museum right after your return from Due list Kingdom, she also said you need to start dueling as the Exodus summoner again." The boy said.
"So I have a habit of summoning Exodia in ten moves or less on rare occasions in duels...I'm sure their are many who can summon him." William said frowning.
"Only Pegasus and yourself William, have ever summoned Exodia in less than ten moves...however in one tournament you summoned Exodia in only three turns and the duel after that you summon Exodia on the six turn and than in the finals you summoned Exodia on the very first turn. Something not even Pegasus could do. Each time you had your rival, shuffle your deck after you had already shuffled it. You have a rare talent to summon that duel monster naturally." Miyabi said.
"Sheer dumb luck...and believing in my deck. Is all that was. How did you know about some of my past tournaments?" William said before he heard Ryo calling his name. He turned his head to see Ryo waving at him as Yugi and the others were there as well.
"William, hurry up. Joey agree to buy all of us dinner since he lost against Yugi in a game." Ryo laughed in a excited tone.
"Go on ahead, I'll catch up to you guys, at the front gates of the school." William said with a small grin.
"Okay, but hurry up before Joey tries to change his mind!" Yugi called out as he followed Ryo, Joey, Tristan and Tea. Joey looked horribly depressed at the thought of an empty wallet. Tristan was laughing as Yugi and Tea smiled nervously at this. William than turned his head to look back at Miyabi and all he saw was a faint scorch mark on the floor where he once stood.
William sighed as he felt like more mysteries were opening up leaving him with so many unanswered questions that he honestly had no idea where to begin. Opening the small box up he saw something that almost made his blood run cold as tears threatened to fall from his eyes.
Inside the box was a thin gold bracelet that held a clear glass pendant with pale orange, yellow and bright crimson red rose trapped within the glass, rusty red looking stains were splattered all over the bracelet. Their was no mistaking it, this was Selina's bracelet. The very same bracelet he gave her. Roughly two hours before his classmates, teacher and girlfriend were murdered in cold blood.
Violent memories of that day came rushing back to him causing something deep inside William to snapped as his bracelet trembled violently as the eyes on the bracelet snapped open glowing a blood red color. Dark shadow energy spiraled around the bracelet of Anubis
William let out a deep inhumane snarl as his hand shook as the box in his hand suddenly began to rot at it even began dissolving into thin air leaving only the bracelet in his hand as he clenched his hand tightly around it. William's eyes turned solid blood red as he clenched his nightmarish fangs tightly in rage before a look of pure madness appeared on his face.
"No one is going to stop me from getting my revenge...not this time. Especially now that I know he's alive and that he's back." He whispered coldly in a deeper voice that sounded nothing like his own voice, before he revealed a wide terrifying evil grin as dark shadow realm energy crackled and swirled around William like a wild storm.
The lockers rattled violently just as the lights flickered frantically. Very faint ancient Egyptian chanting was heard in the background as William's shadow revealed the shadow of Anubis on the wall behind him.
Yugi froze as a powerful dark energy rushed pass him making him turn his head back in William's direction as he felt the puzzle tremble violently. What was that just now? This dark ominous feeling? Yugi wondered in concern. Ryo felt the dark energy rush pass him as well as his millennium ring trembled as well. Ryo and Yugi shared similar concerned looks.
A moment latter William arrived. William's eyes held more of cold lifeless appearance to them. He was deathly silent as they all walked to a near by burger joint. "William, are you okay?" Tea asked him slowly.
"I'm okay Tea, in fact I will be feeling better soon." William said as his lip twitched into a smirk. A smirk that somehow set off warning bells inside Ryo and Yugi. Something wasn't right.
William has always made me feel safe and protected...but why does it suddenly feel like I'm looking at a wolf waiting to go in for the kill? Yugi wondered as he looked at William.
William turned to look at Yugi as Yugi could have sworn William's eyes flashed to a solid blood red color, before they went back to normal. "Yugi, you okay?" William asked him.
"Yeah, just lost in thought." Yugi laughed nervously.
Elsewhere a man held a photograph of William in his hand. "I will kill you boy, for ruining my life...even though I killed your precious girlfriend, your teacher and your classmates their blood is really on your hands because you ruined my career and my reputation. Only this time I'm getting paid to kill you, and yet I also get my revenge at the same time besides being gifted with power I never felt or had before!!! Mawahahahaaaah!!!" he than calmly sets the photo on fire with a lighter as he drops the image onto the ground. On the man's hip was a silver object that glowed in humanly.
"This time you won't be so lucky, boy. This time you will have no one there to save your hide." the man hisses as he watches as photograph burns away into nothingness before stomping out any burning remains of the image before walking away.
In a near by tree a falcon with gold Egyptian markings watches everything before flying away and was soon landing on a outstretched arm of Sojo standing in the shadows.
"I hope William, is ready to face off with a millennium imposter item, the first of many I fear." Sojo said as he lightly strokes the soft feathers on the falcon's head.
"Ra, are you sure we can't interfere in this? Imposter items are highly unstable...and unpredictable." Catherine asked as Sojo frowns.
"No, we must let this play out. Regardless of the out come, long as it doesn't kill him." Sojo said.
"You are insane! They will kill each other, Ra! We need the new Anubis alive and hopefully sane! Not some blood thirsty, insane, madman for the lord of the dead! This is madness and you know it!" Catherine shouted.
"Death has to be cruel and cold...I need to see if he can even take a life. I don't like this either...but we have to test him in anyway possible. Even it causes someone to die." Sojo said sighing.
"Hades, talk to Ra, this is madness!" Catherine spat.
"Leave me out of this. This is an Egyptian problem, look I meet the pup...in my opinion he's no where near ready to being the new Anubis. You Egyptian gods are the ones who need to fix this bloody mess, seeing how this is your fault for allowing some damn mortal to steal the book of the dead, which caused the creation of the millennium items which threw the balance of the universe into chaos which weakened the barrier between the living and the dead in the first place. Which caused all of us gods to create the god and monster items to help balance the world out. Didn't help that a few rogue wizards over the years created the millennium imposter items which are unstable magical items pretending to be real ones. Look If that barrier goes...than we are all fucked royally as chaos will rein supreme. Look, I'm just the Greek god of the underworld who steals souls, I'm not some glorified babysitter to your Egyptian puppy. I don't need another mutt to deal with. Cerberus the gate keeper of the under world is hard enough to deal with, I don't need an emotionally damaged and unstable Egyptian puppy to look after as well. Yes, we death gods look out for one another and will always have each other's backs but William is no god...he is still mortal. He has yet to master the powers of Anubis and without the books as well as the keys to fully unlock his true powers and gifts. He is as good as dead." Miyabi said coldly. "I feel bad for the puppy, really I do but this mess is sort of his fault to begin with."
"See even the Greek soul stealer agrees with me to some degree that this is all wrong, Ra!" Catherine shouted.
"My decision still stands firm...We do not interfere in this...unless William's blood lust turns to harm the Pharaoh, only than do we truly get involved." Sojo said firmly.
"Why must men be so hardheaded!? I will never forgive any of you, since I don't want a insane, blood thirsty, lunatic for lord of the dead!" Catherine screams as she storms away as a black cat follows her calmly.
"Master Hades, we should be going." A hooded female says.
"Right...keep me informed Ra. I'll try to keep the barrier as stable as I can since Anubis, grows weaker each passing day." Miyabi said as he walks over to the hooded female in the shadows.
"Fate...what do you see?" Sojo asked as Miyabi stops in place to look back at him and at his companion.
The hooded figure beside Miyabi pauses for a moment before she opens her hand to reveal a silver version of the millennium eye that than glowed brightly as it hovers above her hand. Faintly in the glow the image of William appears. "I see multiple paths...but the results are the same in the end. William will die and the barrier shatters casting the world into complete chaos. Not even the pharaoh or his friends can fix this or prevent his death. Time is running out and our powers are draining faster with passing day as we try to stabilize the barrier. We need the new Anubis to take his rightful place."
"I know..." He said as he looks at his falcon as it stares at him.
