The next morning came for Aurora and she could barely bring herself out of bed. Her bones seemed to ache as she slid out of the dress from last night and made her way to her bathroom attached to her bedroom.
She looked at herself in the mirror unsurprised with her appearance. There were faint marks splayed onto her left cheek. They weren't as dark as she imagined they'd be. Draco's cold water trick must've helped. She reached a hand to press them lightly, checking the tenderness of the bruises her father left her. Aurora seized momentarily as they throbbed under pressure, but relaxed as she got used to the feeling of her fingers prodding her skin.
Stepping into the shower, she took her time to wash herself, basking in the hot water as it streamed down her. This was the only peace she usually got at home. Aurora longed more than the comfort of a warm shower though. Most of all, she wanted her mother. She had still not seen her since approximately noon yesterday, and she could feel her anxiety rising for every minute she was not with her. She questioned possibly seeking Draco, but decided against it. She was still angry at him.
Toweling off her hair, and washing her face, she pulled on a pair of pajamas, she would not be getting ready on a day like today. It was Christmas after all.
Checking the clock above her bed, it was only seven now, Aurora found herself seated at her desk. She would have to send her friends their Christmas presents now, she hadn't thought to do it last night. In loopy cursive she wrote out each of their names and attached them to parcels she arranged for Zorpey to wrap last week.
For Hermione, she bought her a new book. It focused primarily on foreign magical creatures and their history, something she was sure Hermione would enjoy. It was almost a shock she wasn't placed in Ravenclaw for how much she relished in learning.
For Ron, she had Zorpey bake him an arrangement of sweets since he seemed so keen to take almost half of hers whenever her mother sent her bundles. Perhaps she could ask her mom to start sending two instead. There was a painful stab in her chest, her mother.
And for Harry, she had bought him a book on Quidditch, one far more informative than the one they had borrowed from the library, and some chocolate frogs. Aurora had remembered those had been his favorite on the train to Hogwarts.
Attaching each their letters, she sent Spry to deliver them. She watched him fly from her balcony. As her owl became a prick in the sky, she leaned over the edge of her balcony and closed her eyes. She inhaled deeply, trying to intake the scents of the garden below.
"Don't jump," a voice teased from behind her. She knew it was him.
"I didn't hear you come in. You could knock first you know. What if I was changing?"
"Then I would've gotten free show."
Aurora could hear the smirk in his voice. How did he always have it in him to be so frustrating all the time. If there was an award for biggest prick, she was sure he'd win every year.
"I'm not in the mood today Malfoy. So why don't you just sod off?"
"I would, but your mum sent me to collect you. She wants us to go to Diagon Alley today."
"You've seen her?" Aurora shot around to face him quickly at the mention of Aurelia.
"You're face. You look awful," Draco noted as Aurora turned to face him for the first time that morning.
"How kind of you Malfoy. Now where is she?"
"Waiting in the entry hall lounging area."
"Great, move," Aurora said pushing past him to sprint to see her mother.
She raced down the corridors, something that felt illegal in the manor. She nearly tripped down the stairs as she willed herself to go faster. If she just saw her mother again, everything would be okay.
As Draco informed her, Aurelia Greengrass was in fact, in the entry way. However, her mother had seen better days. Aurelia's eyes were bloodshot and her face was bare of makeup. Though she still looked beautiful, it was very unusual of her to not even apply some eyeliner. She sat slumped over opposed to her usual good posture against a couch back, and was not dressed, instead choosing to lay in her bed robes. As Aurora got closer to her she also couldn't help but notice a bruise forming on her neck. It was much darker than the one on Aurora's face. And while Aurora was left with soft remnants of a bruise, Aurelias was dark, spreading, and in the shape of hands. Her father had done this to her.
"Mum," Aurora sobbed and threw herself into her arms.
"Hell Darling." Aurelia soothed her daughter's hair, hugging Aurora back just as tightly.
"Mum, I-"
"Shh. I know. I tried to stop him. You have to know I didn't know he would be telling you last night."
Aurora pulled away from her mother's embrace and settled onto the lush couch next to her. "Only last night? You knew about this arrangement beforehand?"
"Well not exactly."
"Mum, you're not making any sense."
"Aurora you must have known."
"Known what? Mum, please," Aurora hated the whining sound of her own voice, but she was so desperate for answers.
"You're a pureblood, most of us have been intermarried by now. There are very few left we aren't related to. Draco is the only male pureblood wizard left that we have connections to. You two will be some of the last of the lines. All the other pureblood aren't having much luck producing sons either. It's only a matter of time before there's no one left."
Of course that made sense. Aurora should have known this. She's read and studied the pureblood names and families many times. Her and Draco were some of the only pureblood wizards alive with no relation. The thought sickened her. She really would have no choice. How had she been so unfortunate to be one of the few pureblood witches unrelated to her enemy?
"I can't. Not him."
"I'm sorry. I did everything I could. But Draco will make a lovely husband some day, Aurora. You'll see that."
"No," Aurora snapped at her. She was somewhat surprised with the vindictiveness of her tone. She had never spoken to her mother like this before. Though she had never spoken to her father before the way she had last night either. Hogwarts must have changed her.
"Aurora you have no choice. I never wanted this for you, because I didn't want this myself. But Draco is a fine young man, and you could certainly be off worse." Aurelia looked at her daughter sternly, angling her neck more into view so that Aurora could see the extent of her injuries.
Aurora challenged her eyes. They stared at each other, violet meeting violet for several moments before Aurelia broke the silence again.
"You don't have to like it, you just need to except it. And you must never speak to your father like that again, Aurora," Aurelia said much more sweetly. She nimbly touched the bruises on Aurora's face. It felt like a brief tickle and Aurora longed for more affection from her.
"I can't, Mum. I just, I can't let father make these decisions for me. This isn't something as simple as what's for dinner, this is my future."
"Nonsense. Now go upstairs and get ready. I'm sending you with Draco to Diagon Alley."
"Aren't you coming with us?" Aurora was still upset with her mother, but that didn't mean she wanted to be away from her. She needed her right now.
"No." Aurelia made a motion of stroking her throat and winced at the pain.
"Mum, it's Christmas."
"And you'll have a happy one with Draco. Now go. Floo powder through the main foyer please, I had Zorpey clean all the other ones already."
"Mum, I-"
"You will be just fine without me." Aurelia rose to kiss her daughter's forehead and left to her chambers.
Aurora couldn't help but feel the wave of disappointment come over her. This would be the first year of not spending Christmas with her mother. It wasn't even the day that mattered to her exactly. She hated Christmas. But she wanted more than anything to crawl up next to her mother and cuddle with her like a small child again. She was left instead feeling so small.
"Aurora hurry up, I want to go!" Draco called from the floor above.
Aurora stomped back up the stairs, attempting to relieve some of her anger with the patter of her feet on the stone.
As she got to her room, she found Malfoy lounging on her bed. He laid with one hand behind his head, the other twirled his wand around his fingers lazily.
"Out," Aurora snapped.
"I don't know, I'm rather comfortable here. Thank you."
"Out Malfoy!" Aurora screamed. She was at her wits end. She was still hurt by her father, angry with Draco for last night, and upset with her mother for abandoning her today.
"Don't get your knickers in a twist. I'll be outside your door. And hurry up." Swiftly rising from her bed, Draco left, shutting the door lightly behind him.
Heading back to her bathroom, Aurora smoothed out her black curls and tied half of the tendrils up in a ponytail. She liked how her curls looked today, but knew she'd grow irritated with them and needed to pull them back. Applying dramatic eyeliner and mascara, she completed her morning look.
Taking a sweater out of her wardrobe, she pulled the royal blue fabric over her head. She had also decided to wear jeans, hoping the thicker fibers would shield her from the cold. She grumbled in dismay as she tied her sneakers. She should be in her pajamas with her mother right now. Maybe they would be opening presents and sipping hot chocolate. But no, she was stuck with Draco instead.
"Still waiting," Draco announced, kicking her door absentmindedly like a toddler.
Aurora crossed her room and opened her door.
"You're going out in that?"
"And what's wrong with what I'm wearing?" Aurora cocked an eyebrow at him. Sometimes, Draco really should just keep his mouth shut.
"Nothing. Little heavy on the makeup, don't you think?"
"I don't wear makeup to impress you Malfoy. And at least I'm wearing some color. Would it kill you to wear anything else but black?" Aurora commented. She looked him up and down quickly. A large black trench coat, a black crew neck swear, and black slacks. He was even overdressed for Diagon Alley. The boy was unbelievable sometimes.
"Some of us like to dress to our class status. Being around Weasley so much is getting to you huh?"
"How dare you! Ron is a bigger person than you'll ever be. And for you to think I'll just let you-"
A/N: Very sorry for skipping a week ya'll. I've had a lot on my plate recently, but it should calm down once I go on break in a week. I'm hoping to have three chapters out this week. Maybe get close to finishing book one! I'm really excited to get to the later ones I have some cool stuff planned for you guys!
"You're going to give me a headache. Shut it and let's go."
"You're a real class A act. Huh Malfoy?"
Draco remained quiet though as they walked through the corridors. He refused to acknowledge or engage in any more of her petty insults, which in result only infuriated Aurora even more. Who did he think he was to ignore her? It was his fault in some way or another that they were stuck together today. Aurora knew she was being slightly irrational, but she didn't care. At this moment and like many before, she hated Draco Malfoy.
"You remember how to floo right?" Draco asked, grabbing a handful of the powder from a vase above the fireplace mantel.
"Don't patronize me." Aurora grabbed a handful of the powder as well, and shoved Malfoy to leave first.
"Hey, sod off I was here first!"
"It's my house!"
"Get off of me Greengrass."
"Draco, I swear, if you don't get out of the fireplace right now I'll-"
"Diagon Alley!" They both yelled in some sort of unison and dropped the powder.
As they traveled through floo, it became immediately apparent to Aurora that she was not in Diagon Alley. When Aurora opened her eyes to reveal her location, she found herself in a dodgy alley. The streets were twisted and dark, and the cobble stones were angular. She tried to interpret her surroundings, trying to find anything to give her a clue to where she could be. She was filed with anxiety as other wizards looked at her. She clearly did not belong here. Aurora brought her right hand to a pocket, but she did not find her wand. Thinking back to her routine from earlier this morning, she realized she had left it on her night table. Wandless and desperate she wandered around the street, avoiding eye contact from much older wizards. She stared into the shops, but it was magic unlike she has ever seen before. She began to panic. And then she felt someone grab her.
Aurora wanted to scream, but the second she started a hand clapped over her mouth. She bit it as hard as she could, hoping whoever had grabbed her from behind would release her. Yelping in surprise and pain, the mysterious assailant immediately dropped her arms, and Aurora was freed. After stomping on the unknown person's foot to give her more time, Aurora ran unlike how she had ever before. Her heart beat so firmly in her chest that she feel the pounding in her ears. As she scurried away, the voice of a man screamed after her, clearly angry over his bitten hand. She continued to run for what felt like forever, but couldn't be longer than a minute. Aurora ran until she could see the end of the alley, in which she noticed several signs. She was currently on Knockturn Alley. If she went straight and took the next two lefts, she could find Diagon Alley. Almost out of breath by the time she got to the end of the alley, she was relieved to find herself behind Ollivanders.
"Aurora!" A voice yelled from the main street. Running to the main road of Diagon Alley, Aurora watched as Draco stood pacing in the street, calling her name. He walked briskly and Aurora felt somewhat pleased that he looked worried. He deserved it after all. This situation was completely his fault as far as she was aware. However, another part of her felt relieved to be reunited with him after the incident with the strange man. There was some security in being close to Draco Malfoy. On instinct she ran to him.
"Draco," Aurora muttered as she grabbed his arm. Tears began to run down her cheeks that she couldn't keep in any longer.
"I can't tell if I'm more pissed or relieved to see you. Why are you crying?"
Aurora moved her hands to her faced to wipe the tears as they fell.
"I was in this alley, and this man he tried-" she started to cry again. Aurora couldn't understand why she was so upset. Of course being nearly kidnapped warranted tears, but she couldn't help but feel cowardly by her response to the situation. And now she couldn't even get through what had just happened before going into hysterics. Aurora was also aware of how her beautiful eyeliner must look now streaming down her face. She regretted not wearing more minimalistic makeup today.
"Shh," Draco wiped away a stray tear from her chin. "I'll buy you ice cream come on."
After picking a flavor from Florean Fortescue's Ice Cream Parlour, the duo walked up and down the street quietly. Aurora licked her ice cream quickly, instantly regretting not getting a cup like Draco. The cones could just be so messy. Out of her peripheral vision she watched Draco carefully spoon mouthfuls of ice cream into his mouth. She nearly smiled as she watched him. She couldn't describe these little moments with Draco Malfoy, but part of her wished that they'd never end. She was careful not to say anything though. He switched on her so fast, he'd be an arse again soon.
"Are you going to keep staring at me or are we going to do something?"
Aurora scoffed. She hadn't intended on getting caught.
"We can stop at Flourish and Blott's, I suppose. I'd like to look if they've stocked up on anything new."
Stopping outside the shop, Draco pulled the door open for them, gesturing for Aurora to walk in first.
"Oh a gentleman now? Where was that thirty minutes ago?"
"Nope. I just prefer the view form behind."
Aurora glared at him. He ruined everything with his little pervert comments. If only he could manage to be decent for more than five minutes at a time. She chose not to engage with him though. For one, she knew she wasn't serious. That was hardly the point. He shouldn't be speaking to her that way at all. But secondly, Draco thrived off her short temper, and she was unwilling to contribute any further to his plans on tormenting her.
"I'll be in the quill section. Try not to get yourself kidnapped again while I'm gone."
"Wasn't planning on it," Aurora mumbled and walked away. She found herself strolling aimlessly through the shelves, occasionally pulling books of a shelf to look at the title before placing it back where it was before. The manor had a large quantity of what was in store already. Her mother read a lot to pass time and kept a well-stocked supply.
Making her way to the back of the store, Aurora encroached on the very small muggle section. None of these books were in the manor, her father would rather die than allow "muggle-filth" in their home. Aurora traced the spines of the books. Most of the authors were the same, only very popular muggle authors ever made their way to the disappointingly tiny section here in Flourish and Blott's.
"You like the muggle section too?"
Aurora jumped. She had not heard anyone else come down to the isolated section. And even more, she had not been expecting to hear an American accent.
"Uh yeah," Aurora laughed nervously and shifted her head to face the source of the voice. She was pleasantly surprised by the owner of it. He was a boy, she guessed around the age of thirteen. He had soft brown hair that fell effortless on his head, and a wide, warm smile. Aurora blushed, not expecting to have felt so frazzled by the boy before her. She mentally cursed at herself for what a mess she must look like right now after crying. Of course she'd meet a cute boy the one time she was out in public with tear-tracked makeup.
"They're just, different, than the wizarding books."
"Yeah, I suppose." Aurora did her best to make her voice sound as smooth as possible. She was sure she sounded like a complete prat. She straightened her sweater, adjusting her clothes to look as neat as possible.
"You go to Hogwarts?"
Aurora nodded. "I just got home from my first term actually. I'm a Gryffindor." She smiled proudly after.
"I"m afraid I don't know what that is," the boy laughed nervously.
"Are you not a wizard?"
"No, I am. Just new to England. I went to Ilvermorny back home."
"I knew you were American!" Aurora smiled wider. She leaned in more to hear more of his delicious accent. She hung on to each syllable as he detailed the magic school at home.
"So do you start next term?" Aurora questioned. She was hopeful she would be seeing him around again shortly. She could sure get used to this view during classes. He was angelic to say the least and nothing like the boys she had seen so far at Hogwarts. Well, nothing like the younger boys. It wold be too weird for her to check out the upperclassmen just yet. But if her calculations were correct, based on his looks, he couldn't be older than a third year.
"Yes, actually. Maybe I'll see you there," the boy winked.
Aurora felt butterflies in her stomach. Just his voice put her on cloud nine.
"Yeah, maybe. I'm Aurora by the way," she said as she extended out her hand to him.
"Alex," he replied, shaking her hand.
"Well Alex," Aurora began. She twisted her hair around her finger and gazed into his eyes. She hoped she was flirting correctly or else this would be extremely embarrassing for her.
"Mmmgn," a fake cough sounded from behind her.
Aurora rolled her eyes. Must Draco ruin everything? Alex looked up through his thick eyelashes to the irritated boy behind Aurora.
"Alex meet Draco," Aurora stated bored. They would meet eventually if Draco insisted on continuing to pop up randomly. Might as well get it over with now.
Draco wouldn't allow Alex to introduce himself back though. First shooting a murderous look at the taller and slightly older boy, he put a hand on Aurora's shoulder. Aurora rolled her eyes in response. It came off as possessive and Aurora was not about to let Draco ruin something else for her.
"Alex will be going to Hogwarts next term Draco, isn't that nice?" Aurora asked him feigning kindness. Draco saw right through her facade and continued to refuse to acknowledge Alex's existence.
"I bought what I needed, let's go."
"Not yet, I want to buy this," Aurora responded holding up a book from the muggle section.
"Too bad, I'm done. You can't have that anyways, put it down," Draco scoffed.
Aurora was beginning to get angry again for what seemed like the millionth time that day. Every experience with Draco Malfoy was utterly frustrating. How this boy was liked by his Hogwarts house was beyond her comprehension.
Placing the book back where she had grabbed it, Aurora shot Alex an apologetic smile.
"I'll see you on the train there?"
"Yeah," Aurora smiled, then turned away. Draco placed his hand on her shoulder once again and began to guide her to the front of the store, but not before shooting another dirty look towards Alex.
"Get off of me," Aurora said and shoved him off of her. She was tired of his little alpha male charade. Really it was absolutely rude of him. Alex would probably never want to talk to her again after all that. She hoped this wouldn't be true. Beyond his obvious attractive features, he was quite interesting to talk to. She could listen to him rattle off about his hometown in America all day. That cute little accent got to her. And a boy who reads! They were so far and few between from the ones Aurora knew. Not that she knew many boys at least. Maybe there were more than she had known.
Draco and her walked silently as they made their way to the line for the floo transportation station. Aurora refused to even glance in Draco's direction, she was beyond livid with him at this point. The combination of the situation from last night, to annoying her this morning, to being rude to a possible new friend was more than enough to light a fire under her.
Once successfully transporting to the manor, it was only about noon. Aurora was sure she wouldn't have the patience to pace around her room, so she decided to escape to her other haven. The garden.
The garden was especially lovely this time of year regardless of the dreadful weather. Her mother had casted a special bubble charm to keep the perimeter of the garden the same year round. Though the weather around the other parts of the manor would be early winter, the garden would always be mid spring.
Laying on her back of the small meadow, Aurora closed her eyes. She tried to lose herself by immersing into the scents of the flowers that surrounded her, but she felt unable to disconnect from this world. No matter what she did, she could not get Draco off of her mind. She was still furious with him there was no denying that, but there was something else too. Unwilling to torture herself by thinking about the blond any longer, Aurora decided her time would be better spent walking the trails of the grove. At least she could get in some exercise at least. Or maybe she could fly. But flying would require her to go back to her room to retrieve her broom, and Draco was likely in his room. The proximity was too close for her at the moment. Deciding against flying finally, Aurora began her walk over the little cobbled pathways that winded through the large meadows.
Aurora spent the afternoon into the early evening in the garden. Though it felt lovely to be outside for so long, it was getting to be very dark and Aurora knew she could not stay out here any longer. She trudged her way back to the front of her manor, still unwilling to enter, but forced to nevertheless. The only thing that had altered her mood was the Spry was back. At least she would have her beloved pet to keep her company if not her mum. While she walked to her room, she cooed soothing words to her owl. She was so lucky to have Spry.
Shutting the door to her room, she was surprised to see the bundles of several packages on her bed. Aurora smiled to herself as she sat on her bed, holding the packages closely to her. She had received an unusual quantity. Typically her mother bought her something, but there was not one, but five packages on her bed.
Choosing the package marked with her name in her mother's handwriting first, she carefully pealed open the packaging. Inside the parcel lay an even smaller box. Jewelry, Aurora guessed. Opening the weighted lid, a silver arm cuff was inside. Pulling the metal jewelry from the box, Aurora observed it closer. The detailing of the metal spiral was simple and beautiful. Little thorns extended off the edges of the cuff all the way down the jewelry. Aurora checked the box again for her mother's note, but there was none. Aurora frowned slightly but remembered this was not ordinary Christmas. The gift itself was thoughtful, even though Aurora was unsure when she would wear it. It was far too fancy for regular day wear.
Selecting another parcel at random, Aurora grabbed a bulky brown package with Ron's sloppy writing. She beamed. So her friends had also gotten her something. Unwrapping the parcel, Aurora was greeted by a purple lump and a note.
Merry Christmas Rory!
We miss you here at Hogwarts. Good news, my mum made you a Weasely sweater too!
-Ron
Unfolding the bulky purple sweater, Aurora smiled at the large, green, wool A in the middle of it. Pulling off the sweater she was currently wearing, Aurora quickly pulled on her new Christmas gift. It hugged her generously and enveloped her immediately in warmth. She made a mental note to thank Mrs. Weasley once she got the opportunity to see her.
Moving on to the next package, she knew right away it was from Hermione. Based off the weight alone she could tell it was the quill she had been telling Hermione about a couple weeks before break. It was perfectly sized for each wizard's hand and would write much faster when paired with the special ink that only required one dip per time she wrote with the quill. This would save her so much more time!
Grabbing the second to last parcel, she recognized the handwriting of Harry in his neat chicken scratch on the label with her name. She was unsure of what he could've gotten her. Unlike with Hermione, his gift for her was much more unpredictable. Pulling apart the last edges of the wrapping paper that would bring the gift into view, Aurora swooned over what he had bought her. Rather than one gift, he had created several mini gifts for her. In the bundle he had included first her favorite wizard's candy, pumpkin pasties, lavender bubble bath, and charmed special socks. The last gift was a nice touch, he had remembered her Reynaud's. Pulling on the special thermal socks, Aurora sighed at the sudden warmth that reached her toes. Even without her disease, her feet were always cold.
After organizing her gifts to the side, Aurora turned over the last package in her lap. There was no label to indicate who might've sent it to her and Aurora sat puzzled attempting to find out who would've bothered to send her something. It was certainly not her father. Giving up on guessing who sent her the last parcel, Aurora decided to open it. Her mouth fell open as she looked down at what was her present. It was the muggle book from earlier. Draco must've gotten it for her, sometime today. Aurora felt somewhat guilty despite her anger with him. She clung the muggle book to her chest considering what her next steps would be. It would be rude of her not to thank him, Aurora decided. Even if it killed her to be nice to him, she should be a bigger person.
Tip-toeing out of her room to Draco's across the hall. Aurora leaned against her door. She could do this, she reminded herself.
Knocking lightly on the door to his room, she inhaled sharply before entering.
Draco sat in a chair in the corner, his face contorted in concentration. He held a quill in his hand and he bit his lip as he scrabbled notes in a book.
"Didn't say you could come in," he said not lifting his eyes from the pages on his lap.
"I just wanted to thank you."
"Yeah," he looked at her and nodded before resuming his activity.
"Well?"
"Well what?"
"Is that it?"
Draco shrugged momentarily then scribbled something out on the page
"What are you writing?" Aurora asked and raised her eyebrows. She was dreadfully curious what he was so focused on that he was barely acknowledging her. She felt a little childish being almost jealous by the lack of attention, but once again he was being rude.
"It's not your business." Draco said it with no malice, but Aurora was sick of his little charades.
"I came here to thank you, and you're ignoring me."
Draco said nothing still. He didn't even stop writing to address her irritation.
"Unbelievable Draco. You know, I'm still mad at you." At this Draco snapped the book shut and sauntered over to her. He kept walking, forcing Aurora against the back of his door. He leaned in, arms against the wall, trapping her on either side. Inches from her face now, she could smell him. He was almost overpowering, but she found herself strangely attracted to the scent. She forced herself to focus on him rather than be engulfed in his smell.
"Go away. I told you, I'm mad at you."
He cocked his head to the side and laughed lightly, "You're always mad at me."
"Maybe I wouldn't be if you weren't such a prick."
"And where's the fun in that?"
Aurora felt like she might spit at this point. She could hardly control herself anymore. If Malfoy said one more word tonight, there would be a murder at the manor.
"You are the most insufferable, entitled, selfish-"
"And what are you miss perfect? You get sorted into Gryffindor and you become a pompous impulsive shit. Chasing after trolls, talking back to professors, fighting with your father of all people. You are so arrogant. Do you even hear yourself? You're a complete narcissist. Thinking you're just better than me, after everything I do for you. You just sit there, self righteous and on your pedestal. At least I know what I am. But you, you think you're so much better. Only one of us is being honest to ourselves right now, and it's not you."
"Don't gaslight me Draco! You're the blood supremacist here, not me. I will always be better than you, not because I'm arrogant, but because you're you. I see how you treat non-purebloods. Honestly, you disgust me. You are a disgusting person."
Aurora thought she saw a flash of pain in his eyes at her words, but she didn't care. She meant everything she said. Pushing him off of her she bolted back to her room and slammed her door shut. She chucked the book he had bought her behind her headboard. After tonight, she was officially done with Draco Malfoy.
