Kanto Part 13

In the Pokemon Center, Ash and Alice are sitting at the seats as Ash asks his mother, "So Mom, what is Uncle Giovanni doing with Team Rocket? Why is he doing this?"

Delia frowns a little and says, "Ash, you may not like it, but it is my fault that he becomes like this."

This causes confusion to the two trainers, and then Delia tells them about when they are little, how he and Delia are competing to be the Kanto Champion. But in the end, Delia wins against him and it is the start of the gap between the two of them.

"And what happens after that?" Ash asks in confusion.

"Giovanni thinks that the reason he lost to me is because that he thinks that his Pokemon are weak, so he tries to find the most powerful Pokemon in the world...eventually he finds the strongest Pokemon in the universe."

Alice asks, "Did he get it?"

Delia shakes her head and says, "No, my husband and I beat him first so as to warn the Pokemon, but Giovanni isn't a man who will give up, so he tries to attack us instead...eventually, with the Pokemon's help, we won in the end, but it causes Giovanni to be angry at the fact that we try to stop him every time. Eventually, he forms Team Rocket to gather strong Pokemon, even if it means stealing other people's Pokemon, or doing illegal trades to conduct experiment on Pokemon to make them stronger."

Ash and Alice can't believe that there is a past like that, they feel sorry for Giovanni. Ash asks, "So when he comes to our house when I was little, all his kindness are just facade all along?"

Delia nods and says, "Indeed, I was at first curious of why he would come to our house and even show kindness to you, but in the end, he just wants to trick you into being a Rocket member and it is when I found out the truth that I forbade him to come to our house and see you again."

"I can't believe he tried to do this to me..." Ash frowns a little as Delia sighs, "And now that you have faced him again in the hideout under the Game Corner, I want to ask, what are you going to do?"

Ash and Alice look at each other, and Ash says, "We are going to stop him no matter what. That's all."

Delia nods and then she goes with the other police members to continue locate their hideout, at the same time, Cubone is now recovered as she goes to Alice's arms, Alice asks, "Do you want me to capture you?"

The Cubone nods and then she takes out the Pokeball, capturing the Pokemon in the end.

Kanto Dex Entry No.104 Cubone: The Lonely Pokemon: Ground Type. Because it never removes its skull helmet, no one has ever seen this Pokémon's real face.

After giving the guards the drinks, they let Ash and Alice pass through the gates that block the Saffron City, and then they quickly rush to the Lavender Town as they are going inside the Pokemon Tower.

"So we are going inside to find Mr. Fuji?" Alice asks, Ash nods and says, "He might still be trapped inside."

Just then, Cubone pops out of the Pokeball and she keeps tugging Alice's leg, Alice asks, "You want to go inside?" The Cubone nods and then they see a girl approaching them. "Excuse me."

They turn around and Ash asks, "Can we help you?"

"Is that Cubone the one from the Pokemon Tower?" The girl asks, and Cubone just nods, Ash says, "Wait, I remember, aren't you Mr. Fuji's granddaughter?"

The girl nods and says, "This Cubone was a part from our Pokemon House, her mother is buried there in the Pokemon Tower."

"What happened?" Alice gasps in shock, the girl says, "Team Rocket keeps on going after Marowak so it can sell those skulls they wear for profit...I think Cubone is still looking for its mother, even though she's gone..."

"Is that true?" Alice asks the Cubone, who nods in sadness, "I think I can't forgive that Team Rocket to do such things..."

The girl says, "It seems like you caught this Cubone?"

"Yes, we saved it directly from the boss." Ash says, "And we may think that your grandfather must be inside the tower somewhere. We will help you find him."

The girl nods and she says, "Thank you, and be careful."

After the girl leaves, Alice says, "I really don't like ghosts, but I think we should do it."

"Yeah." Ash says as they enter the tower, but just as they are now at the second floor, they see Gary there. "Hey, Ashy Boy, and Alice as well! What brings you here? Is your Pokémon dead?"

"What are you doing here? Gary?" The two are annoyed that he is there. Pikachu is also feeling a little annoyed as he sparkles his cheeks, while Eevee doesn't know about this trainer, is showing confusion.

"Hey, looks like your Pokemon are alive! I can at least make them faint! Let's go!" Gary says as he readies his Pokeball.

Alice says, "Not going to do that, Mister, we have some work to do."

"And what will it be more important than our battle?" Gary asks.

"Let's see, finding the ghost of Cubone's mother and also the missing Mr. Fuji?" Ash says. "Importantly, we have no time to have a battle with you."

Gary thinks for a second and he says, "If that's the case, then let me help you out as well."

"Huh?" This causes confusion to the two as Gary says, "You know, maybe the more the merrier."

"I guess it will be fine." Ash says as they all head upstairs. But as they are now at the third floor, they see some ghosts floating around near the cemeteries, Alice is trembling in fear and Gary says, "Yikes, no wonder they don't want us to go upstairs, this place sure is haunted."

"It's not helping, Gary." Ash says as he comforts the terrified Alice. "It is a good thing I got this from my uncle." Ash takes out the Silph Scope as it does it work, then the ghosts turn out to be Gastly, Haunter and Gengar.

"Wait, those are actually Pokemon?" Alice asks after seeing their true forms, she sighs and says, "Ghost Pokemon are now actually that scary, so we should keep going."

"You're right." Ash says as they start to walk their way up the tower, but there are several ghosts attacking them and the three of them fight their way. Ash notices that Gary an Exeggcute and a Growlithe, his Abra also evolves into Kadabra.

"Seems like you are getting stronger, huh?" Gary says to Ash, who uses Charmeleon to defeat the Haunter and eventually captures the Pokemon.

"Yeah." Ash says, "You are not bad as well."

Kanto Dex Entry No.92 Gastly: The Gas Pokemon: Ghost and Poison Type. Almost invisible, this gaseous Pokémon cloaks the target and puts it to sleep without notice.

Kanto Dex Entry No.93 Haunter: The Gas Pokemon: Ghost and Poison Type. Evolved from Gastly at LV:25. Because of its ability to slip through block walls, it is said to be from another dimension.

Now they are at the fourth floor, Alice also evolves her Voltorb into an Electrode as it uses Spark to blind some of the Ghost Pokemon.

Kanto Dex Entry No.101 Electrode: The Ball Pokemon: Electric Type. Evolved from Voltorb at LV:30. It stores electric energy under very high pressure. It often explodes with little or no provocation.

Not only the Ghost Pokemon, there are also some Channeler who also challenges them into battles, but after they are defeated, they don't know what they just did.

"This place sure is creeping me out..." Gary mutters as Ash says, "I agree with you, I really don't like how those Channelers are acting..."

And after the fifth floor, this time Alice's starter Pokemon, Ivysaur, evolves into Venusaur and uses Petal Dance to defeat a lot more Channelers.

Kanto Dex Entry No.3 Venusaur: The Seed Pokemon: Grass and Poison Type. Evolved from Ivysaur at LV:32. The plant blooms when it is absorbing solar energy. It stays on the move to seek sunlight.

"How come she is the first one to evolve the Starter Pokemon to the max?" Gary groans and Ash says, "Shut up, Gary, this is not the time to compare each other."

Now they are at the sixth floor, they see a giant ghost there, they can hear the ghost moaning, "Begone! Intruders!"

"What? This looks even bigger than the rest..." Alice says with a shiver as the two boys are standing in front of her. Gary says, "Ashy Boy, use the Scope now."

"No need to tell me." Ash uses the scope and finds that it is actually a Marowak. Just then, the Cubone in Alice's arms rush towards the ghost, the Marowak is surprised to see her child, and as the two of them rush towards each other, Marowak starts to glow and before Cubone can even touch it, it disappears into particles.

"So the true form of the ghost was...the restless spirit of Cubone's mother..." Ash mutters. "And now it is calmed, so it return to its kind and gentle nature. It departed to the afterlife...and disappeared..."

Alice hugs the Pokemon, who is crying after her mother truly left her, she says, "I am sorry, Cubone..."

Gary says, "Are we going to stay here? Or should we continue to find Mr. Fuji?"

"You're right, Gary, there is only one floor left..." Ash says as he says, "Gary, you stay here with Alice, I'll go alone."

"Are you crazy?" Gary asks. "You may be stronger than me, but you are not going to leave without me."

Alice says, "He's right." Ash is surprised to see Alice and Cubone showing determined faces. "We should work together this time."

Ash smiles as they all head upstairs together, there they see the Team Rocket Trio holding a man who is tied with ropes. "So you're the old geezer they call Mr. Fuji, right? You're going to be repeating your Pokémon research for the glory of Team Rocket!" Jessie says.

Mr. Fuji just turns away, not trying to talk to the Rocket members.

"Ignore us all you like-we're used to it! We won't take no for an answer. You'll help the boss, whether you want to or not!" James says.

"What are you three doing here?" Ash yells, as the three turn around. Meowth says, "It's the twerps!"

Gary asks, "Did that Meowth just talk?"

Alice says, "Forget about that, so you are the ones that hold Mr. Fuji captive. You won't be getting away this time."

"Gramps here thinks he can resist, so we're setting him straight!" Jessie says.

"You'd better disappear, twerp, or be prepared to fight!" James says as they send out their usual Weezing and Arbok. This time Cubone wants to battle and Gary says, "Let me deal with these guys." Then he takes out Kadabra to battle the Weezing.

Eventually the Cubone, with the anger she had for her mother being killed by the Rockets, evolve into a Marowak and then uses the Bone Club to defeat Arbok, and Gary defeats the Weezing easily.

Kanto Dex Entry No.105 Marowak: The Bone Keeper Pokemon: Ground Type. Evolved from Cubone at LV:28. The bone it holds is its key weapon. It throws the bone skillfully like a boomerang to KO targets.

"Ugh! Seriously? Again?" Jessie yells in anger.

"Looks like Operation Stealthily Kidnap Fuji is a bust, then..." James says.

"Don't you think we know that? It'll be fine—we just have to help out with the take-over of Silph Co. in Saffron City." Meowth says.

"Looks like Team Rocket's blasting off again!" Then they run away once again. Ash uses the chance to untie Mr. Fuji.

"Heh? You came to save me? Thank you. But, I came here of my own free will. I came to calm the spirit of Cubone's mother, but I was reckless that I was captured by those grunts."

"It is fine, and I think Marowak's spirit has finally left us." Ash says with a frown.

"I must thank you for your kind concern. Follow me to my home, Pokémon House, at the foot of this tower." Then the three of them follow the old man to the Pokemon House, and his granddaughter is happy to see him back.

"So, Ash, Alice and Gary. Your Pokédex quest is one that requires strong dedication. Without deep love for Pokémon, your quest may fail. I'm not sure if this will help you, but I'd like you to have it."

They give them each a Poke Flute, Gary asks, "What can this thing do?"

"Upon hearing the Poké Flute, sleeping Pokémon will spring awake. Try using it on Pokémon that are sleeping obstacles." The man says, and the three nod. Gary says, "Well, it seems like you two are caught in the process of some organization, huh? And they say that they are going to Silph Co?"

"Yeah." Ash says, "We are going there to stop them."

"Then you won't mind if I come with you to stop them as well?" Gary asks, and both Alice and Ash agree to let him come as they bid farewell to Mr. Fuji and his Granddaughter.

Here is the new chapter, and this is the Pokemon Tower, now Ash and Alice have Gary accompany them to the Silph Co, I hope you like this chapter.
