"I'm trying to cheer you up."
Do you think our love could take us away together?
As Noah and Allie pour their hearts out, Kensi feels something hit her cheek. Slightly turning her head which is resting in his lap, she looks up at her husband who has tears running down his cheek, his eyes glued to the screen.
This would be a perfect opportunity to make fun of him but the sadness in his baby blues when he looks at her, breaks her heart. She sits up, placing her palm against his scruffy cheek and closes the distance between their lips.
Once they pull back, he throws his arm around her as she curls into his side and they watch the last scenes of the movie.
A couple of minutes later the credits begin to roll, his tears falling even faster than before. "I can't believe you made me watch that."
She wipes his tear stained cheek, trying not to smile at how adorable he's being. "Oh, baby. We've watched this dozens of times before. Why are you crying?"
"They died in each other's arms."
"Yes, they did."
"They were so in love...and nothing tore them apart." His eyes lock with hers, bringing memories of them and a fresh set of tears to his eyes. "It just sounds so much like us."
"No it doesn't."
"It doesn't?"
"Our love story is way better."
"Why would you say that?"
Shaking her head, she's not only confused by his emotional state right now but the crying. She scoots back against the arm of the couch, pulling him between her legs. "I'm trying to cheer you up. You don't think our love story is way better?"
He wraps his arms right around her waist, his head resting against her chest as the sound of her heartbeat fills his ears. "I do, but I was just reliving it in my head."
Carding her fingers through his hair, she does her best in soothing him. She knows something is definitely up. "You're more emotional than usual...are you okay?"
"It's the hormones."
"What?"
He lifts his head, squinting. "I may have taken estrogen pills by accident."
"Okay, explain, please."
He looks a the tv then back at her. "Mom, left what I thought was a bottle of painkillers in the office so I took some the other day, but my headaches kept getting worse so I took some more the next few days, and it wasn't until today that she told me she put her pills in an old bottle."
Kensi bites her lip, trying everything in her not to laugh. She watches as his eyes lock with their wedding photo on the wall behind her and his lip begins to quiver. "What's wrong now?"
"He said she was his home."
"Come here." She pulls him down to lie on top of her, enveloping him in her arms.
It's a few minutes later as they lay wrapped in each other's arms, his tears have finally stopped and the room is silent. "Is this how you felt while you were pregnant?"
"Only all the time."
"My nipples hurt."
"Do you want me to rub some cream on them?"
"You'd do that for me?"
"I'd do anything for you, you know that." She says, placing a kiss to the top of his head.
As soon as she says the words, his soft whimpers feel the air, tears coating her t-shirt. "I knowww."
A/N: Not sure if estrogen works that fast but it does today.
