Bound By the Fates
Chapter 14
Gringotts
The Day after Snape's Trial the Daily Prophet was blowing up with the news that four teenagers had come to the Wizengamot and taken over by claiming seats that had not been active for over a thousand years. However the Potters, Sirius and the Weasleys were furious with the Daily Prophet. The article was not flattering nor did it favor the five teens in any way, shape or form. In fact the article was front page news.
Potter and three Friends Claim Founders Wizengamot Seats! Send Snapes to Azkaban without Full Wizengamot votes!
Rita Skeeter Daily Prophet Wizengamot special Correspondent Reporting. "Yesterday there was a bit of chaos in Courtroom ten during the Trial of former Professor Severus Tobias Snape. Harry James Potter the Heir Apparent to the Potter Fortune, claimed the seat of Godric Gryffindor. Following what can only be considered an impressive display of power and theatrics, three of his friends claimed the other seats of Salazar Slytherin, Rowena Ravenclaw, and Helga Hufflepuff. There is a bit of a mystery surrounding how these four were able to claim the seats although it has been rumored that the Potter Heir was the Heir to Hogwarts as he is supposedly connected to all four founders in some way. That has yet to be confirmed though. There was another hooded figure that stood next to Mr. Potter, and though nobody except perhaps their parents knew who the person was, there was a powerful presence about them and the other four heirs. Shortly after taking the seats of the Four founders, Mr. Potter and his friends disregarded the protocol of the Wizengamot and took over the trial of Mr. Snape, promptly sending him to Azkaban for life. After leaving the courtroom there was more than one perplexed face in the Wizengamot seats, none moreso than Albus Dumbledore Chief Warlock of the Wizengamot. What does this mean for the future of the Wizengamot? Wil these children be running things in the Ministry and if so how can we put a stop to whatever childish laws or antics they will use when parading around their power? I mean to find out who that other hooded figure was and what the plan is now that it seems that four teens have grabbed power from the most powerful judiciary in the Wizarding World."
Harry slammed down the prophet enraged. "Dad, don't we own something akin to a majority shareholding in the Daily Prophet? If so Rita needs to be fired and I want myself and the other heirs to give interviews, outlining the truth." He said. James just merely nodded. He didn't want to get near his son when he had this temper in effect, when Harry got mad he was worse than Lily and that was saying something. Nodding his approval, Harry looked at Ginny, "I want us to reveal the soulbond. It seems that the prophecy may be moving fast and I think that what we need to do requires us to let the wizarding world know just how powerful our families have become. I also have an idea I want to run by my parents that you can only know about; after I get their approval. And if they give it, this is something that I will not take no for an answer for. Does that sound fair, Gin?" he asked Ginny mentally. Her silence told him that she was thinking. After a minute or so, he could hear her respond across their link. "If you think that is what is best and we need to do it then I am behind you as for the other thing. I think that I can be patient and let you do whatever it is that you have planned." She responded. The entire table was watching this display of mental talking.
"I wish we could do that Fred, it would be a lot easier to pull pranks. We got to find us a way to get a soulbond." George commented, making everyone laugh.
Harry finally rejoined the conversation at the table. "Dad, we need to get dressed and get the other heirs over here, we are going to the daily prophet. But before we do we need to go to Gringotts and I need to discuss something with you and Mum." He told James.
James merely nodded his consent. And with that the day was set up. 'This day was going to prove to be interesting.' James thought to himself as he watched his son plan and scheme. His children and their mates were going to change the wizarding world for the better and rather than be a part of it, he had to sit on the sidelines unless he was asked for help. That was not going to easy.
Within two hours of that conversation with his family, Harry and the rest of the group were ready to go. The four Heirs having flooed over not even ten minutes earlier. Flooing to the Leaky Cauldron, the group made their way to Diagon Alley. Walking through the bustling streets, they made their way to Gringotts Bank. Motioning for the others to go in, Harry gently pulled on his father's arm to have him stay back.
Looking at his father, Harry began. "Dad, I need you to tell me why Mr. Weasley is not a Lord of the Most Ancient and Most Noble House of Weasley and why they are so poor. That Lordship must still be active. What is the foregoing issue with this?"
James looked at Harry, rather impressed, while his son just looked at him nonplussed. "Harry, the Weasley family had their gold and their fortune squandered long before Mr. Weasley was born. The then head of the family made some very poor investment choices, and as such lost the gold and the title, though you are quite correct that the title of Lord of the Most Ancient and Most Noble House of Weasley is still there for Mr. Weasley to take. Why?" James asked.
Harry stared at him while he thought for a second. "Do you know what our family Fortune is at the moment Dad?" James did the math in his head for a minute.
Nodding slowly he replied, "In galleons, knuts, and sickles our Fortune comes out to One hundred Billion, Five Hundred and Sixty Two Million, Nine hundred and Seventy-Six Thousand and Two hundred Dollars. In muggle currency that is around 400 Billion rounded up. But that is due to very smart investments in Muggle companies as well as wizarding companies not to mention the various inheritances. But that doesn't include what you now have in the Gryffindor vault which I can assure you, is Way more in Galleons that what your mother and I will ever have. Why?" James asked.
"With your permission since we are rich and have more money than either Hermione or myself will know what to do with when you and mum pass, I want to put One Hundred Million in the Weasley vault and help Mr. Weasley to secure his title of Lord. I also want to build them their own Manor, just down the road from Potter Manor. It is only a small part of what I can do to repay the kindness they have shown our family." Harry said.
James was shocked. He knew Harry was kind, but didn't think that his son would ever grow up to be this generous. He didn't even have to think about it. He already knew what his answer would be. "That Harry is the nicest thing I think anyone has ever done for the Weasley's. Does Ginny know you were going to be asking about this?" he inquired.
Harry shook his head. "She agreed to let me do what I had planned without informing her of what it was. I already discussed that part of it with her at least." He opened the door to Gringotts and held it open for his father to go through.
When everything was settled and they were in the account managers office, James spoke first. "The Weasley's are here because of Ginvera's relationship to my son. They can here what will transpire today. And if it pleases the goblins I will be allowing my son to practice his diplomacy as part of his Lord Training prior to introduction to the society lifestyle."
"That is most welcome, we have been waiting for the young heir and heiress to being their nobility training, and as the Potter family is an old friend of the Goblin Nation, we would be honoured to work with him this day. Young Heir Potter, what is it that we can do for our friends today?" the account manager Griphook inquired.
"What is the Potter stake in the Daily Prophet?" Harry asked.
The Goblin smiled, "your father purchased the Prophet in its entirety not an hour ago. He sent an owl to us from Potter Manor, we got it just before you entered the building. The note said that You were to be given sole ownership, well you and your bondmate that is. With your sister sitting on the Board when she was old enough. Next item of business, my young Lord Gryffindor?" whatever harry had been expecting that had not been it. The goblin just smiled seeing the look of surprise on his face. "Mister Potter, we know that you, your twin and your bondmate through marriage of course are the heirs to the Gryffindor Title. I have the Lord and Lady rings if you and your sibling consent to wear them. As that line is shrouded in the old Laws, you can take possession of that title anytime that you wish." Harry nodded and accepted the ring, watching as it validated his claim to the Gryffindor heritage and shrank to size to fit perfectly on his finger. He watched as it did the same for Hermione.
"Mr. Griphook, I also conversed with my father prior to this meeting about the following request and he gave me the go ahead. I want One Hundred Million Galleons to be placed in the Weasley vault, with the growing interest to be placed in a trust vault for all of the Weasley children so that they can attend school without having to use secondhand items. The return on that interest of the trust vault is to be siphoned back into the Weasley vault, per every fourth quarter, per capita, per annual without any misguided perpetuity. I also want Mr. Weasley to be given the Lord ring and accept that which is his rightful station to pass on to his offspring, as Lord of the Most Ancient and Most Noble House of Weasley. Also I would like the goblins to build Weasley manor down the road from Potter Manor, Make it identical to the Burrow except more grand on the same level as Potter Manor, including a quidditch pitch and hippogriff stables, also if we could furnish them with a staff to help manage the grounds that would be wonderful." Turning to look at the Weasley's he spoke. "There will be no taking no for an answer, that just happened and you deserve it. The Goblins will inform you when the new burrow is ready to be moved into."
The weasley's looked at him with great honor and love when he did this. Mr. Weasley accepted the Lordship Ring and took his rightful place in society. "That being done, Let's go fire Skeeter and whoever let her publish that rubbish." Harry got up and gracefully swept out of the room, being followed hurriedly by his ever growing family. Together they went to the Daily Prophet to squash an annoying little bug as it were….
