Nikita POV:
"I love you so much," Michael tells me.
"I love you too," I reply. Our mouths collide in a desperate, but loving kiss. Time fades, and in that moment, it's just me and him. We break apart, but only for a moment and we kiss again.
"You are the most beautiful woman in the world," Michael whispers to me. I blush, and smile.
"We are finally free from the world, and it's just you and me," I reply. He nods and I rest my head on his chest.
I jolt awake, blinking tears from my eyes. I am on the filthy ground of the cell, the stench of dirt, decay and dried blood almost overwhelming me. The only comfort we have had in these past couple days are my dreams, and often, they are plagued with nightmares. Every inch of my body is in agony. My pain, on a scale of 10, is about a 15 and if I move it shoots up to a 19. I rest my head against the cold wall of the cell.
My previously tight restraints have been replaced with loose chains that secure my hands to the wall. Not out of kindness, probably just sheer cruelty, because they know I am too weak to fight my way out.
I try to assess my injuries. I probably have some type of concussion, judging from the throbbing in my head. Cuts and bruises on my face from the beating, as well as a fractured rib. A deep cut in my thigh, which is probably infected, based on how I feel. My veins feel like they are on fire, an aftereffect of the chemicals they pumped through me. And of course, the bullet wound in my arm that still hasn't healed all the way.
I wonder why Michael or SHIELD haven't come yet. Maybe they haven't found a way in yet. Maybe they are in the framework as we speak and they are just trying to find me. Maybe something happened in the real world. And of course the one thing that scares me more than HYDRA: Maybe they just don't care, and they left me here to die. I have to believe that they will find me, and that they are looking, even though as the days pass by, my hope begins to fade.
A jump slightly as the door opens. A man walks in. He has slightly greyed hair and dark grey eyes. He is probably in his mid 50's. "Nikita Mears?" the voice says.
"What do you w-want?" I ask, trying my best to hide the tremors in my voice. I try to sound strong, but my voice is hoarse from the countless hours I spent screaming.
"You are a traitor to HYDRA. You want to drag us to the Other Side, and enslave all of us," he says.
"I don't know what you're talking about"
"Don't play dumb. We know you worked with Daisy Johnson and Melinda May"
"I s-swear I-"
"Where did they go?" he interrupts me.
"I swear, I don't know," I try to reason with him.
"You can either tell us where they are, or things will get very unpleasurable for you. Think about it," he replies and he walks out.
Michael POV:
"I have an idea on how to help Nikita," I tell Daisy. They still have me locked up in a cell.
"I'm listening," she responds.
"A man named Birkhoff. He can help hack the framework,"
"That's impossible. Even I couldn't hack it. I don't think anyone in this world could except maybe, Shadow Walker," Daisy says. I smile.
"Birkhoff is Shadow Walker"
"Do you know where to find him?" she asks, clearly intrigued.
"I can help you, if you let me out," I tell her. "Listen, I'm sorry. I let my emotions get in the way. But I promise that they are in check now. If it happens again, you can dump me in the deepest hole you can find"
"Alright," Daisy says after a moment. She opens the door and we walk up to the operations room.
"What the hell is he doing here?" Coulson asks and draws a gun.
"Hey! I let him out. He made a mistake, but we need his help if we are going to get Nikita out of the framework," Daisy exclaims.
" May is in a coma because of you. If you so much as look in the direction of May, I will put two bullets in your skull," Couslon threatens, and lowers his gun.
"Understood," I say.
"Good," Coulson replies. "Then, let's get started"
