Ch.13 Galvanized:

It had been millennia since Hekapoo's creation, it took her centuries to master her powers and even longer to be welcomed as a member on the commission. It was something she worked hard for and wanted for so long. To be seen and respected as a member of her peers and to finally have a defined purpose. But something today clicked in her, the moment she saw her children alive with their own thoughts and feelings none of that mattered. Suddenly she was overcome with simultaneous joy and sadness. What were they like? What kind of hardships did they go through? How did she raise them? So many questions danced in her mind, it was so overwhelming she couldn't bring herself to stand let alone breathe. Her son looked so old, maybe in his late twenties and her daughter was so young. Where did they even come from and how were they even able to come here?

Hekapoo felt a hand touch her shoulder as she witnessed Glossaryk giving her a look she had never seen before. She could feel the love he had in his eyes like the look of a proud grandfather. For the first time in her life she had seen tears in this man's eyes. Despite seemingly knowing and experiencing everything it was shocking to see something like this get to him.

"Glossaryk, please tell me this is real, I'm not just making this all up in my head right".

Glossaryk wiped tears from his eyes before looking overhead to the sun above them.

"These are all memories of the past, but you've changed a lot of it"

"How do you change a memory, it already happened" she said, giving him a concerned look.

"Out of everything you've seen so far, you still don't understand what you've really done do you" he stated landing on the ground and facing her

Hekapoo gave him a puzzled look as she struggled to make her now noodle legs cooperate enough to sit.

"Your feelings for Marco were so strong you broke a magic law just to see him again. You now possess something that even I don't Hekapoo, you are a Time user. And from the looks of it your children might have inherited that too."

"I detected an unusually high amount of magic coming from your son and I couldn't detect anything from your daughter. Despite her standing right in front of us it was like she wasn't even there."

"What does that even mean, is that bad?" Hekapoo exclaimed

"It means, you and your family are on a whole other level of magic I've never seen before. Once again the most powerful force in the existence has created something new" he claimed with a wide grin on his face

The excitement of the new magics and abilities made Glossaryk's mind race as he began to laugh hysterically on the ground. The situation was changing so radically and rapidly even he couldn't predict what would happen next.

"Glossaryk!" Hekapoo said worried

Glossaryk continue to laugh as she rolled around on the ground

"Glossaryk!" she shouted aloud

Once more the tiny man continued to laugh at the wild possibility of the world he was about to experience.

"DAD!" she screamed with tears in her eyes

Glossaryk stopped as he gazed upon the woman before him, she was clearly a mess after everything that had happened up till now. The added bonus of children she never got the chance to see grow up let alone agree to have was weighing on her.

"Oh...I'm...I'm so sorry my poor girl, I got so excited over what this all meant. I forgot this all must be piling up on you"

"I don't know what to do anymore, Marco is god knows where, there are wolf-bears trying to kill us and now my children from the future as here" she shouted

"I've always been in control of my life, but ever since Marco showed up everything has been out of control", she claimed sniffing and wiping tears from her eyes

Floating off the ground toward her, Glossaryk took her hand and held it gently. Looking deep into her eyes he could see that his daughter was hurt and it finally clicked why she summoned him here in the first place. Although he knew this day was coming he couldn't help but want to avoid it.

"Before Marco showed up in your world, what did you do" he asked

"You already, know the answer to that, I was on the commission"

"And before that?"

"I was here…..training to be on the commission"

"And before that?"

"I was…."

Pittering off Hekapoo thought for a moment to herself about her world before Marco, before the commission, before the training. They had been memories she chose to forget but there was no denying they were still there in the back of her mind. She recalled the first breath of air she took as she suddenly came into existence on this planet. The entire surface was covered in nitrogen gases and molten volcanos mercilessly erupting and spewing lava and every direction. She remembered the loud sounds of thunder and volcanos erupting terrifying her as she desperately searched for shelter.

She recalled the small nights of peace where she would gaze upon the stars and wonder why she was the only one trapped on the planet. Memories began to reconnect as she recalled being so alone and desperately wanting anyone to engage with. Years would go by and it was still just her. Decades would go by and it was still just her. Centuries alone watching the planet she woke up on transform from a molten hell land to a beautiful paradise filled with life was the only thing keeping her from losing her mind. Those negative feelings made her remember where her cynical nature came from, years of being alone warped her needs to be with others inward. It wasn't long before Glossaryk first appeared on her world and told her about people in other worlds she could see if she mastered her abilities. Without warning just as he randomly appeared he randomly left, leaving her severely desperate to find others which led to her learning her powers and opening portals.

With clarity she finally remembered why she was doing all this work for the commission. Pushing herself everyday to the brink of extreme exhaustion and almost dying on multiple occasions. All so she wouldn't be alone again. Feeling nothing but sadness and shame she took a vacant look at Glossaryk as she realized who put her through all this suffering.

"You….you made me and put me on this planet alone for centuries" she screamed

"Do you understand how scared and lonely I was! There was no one here but me and I thought I had to be the most hated thing in the world to be here by myself! Then you showed up out of nowhere and manipulated me to being your portal lackey so I wouldn't be alone again!"

Looking away sadly Glossaryk sighed as he pulled his arms into his sleeves.

"You're right Hekapoo, I did use you and I'm sorry. Truth be told how you came to be was very much like my own. I just appeared one day, I had no idea who made me or why. I had all these strange powers and abilities I was discovering everyday. One of those days I discovered I could create life through magic in the form of forces. I was young and stupid so I just created them and never asked why or how they would feel after being created. I was so focused on creating new things that I was never concerned with how they would feel after it all."

"I know I've been a terrible creator and even more so a terrible father to all of you. All I can ask is that you forgive an old fool's past, I know I had a hand in your suffering but I'm hoping I can help fix it now"

Hekapoo sat quietly again as she pondered to herself, she wanted to be so furious with him for what he did. Her thoughts turned darkly to her buried memories of being alone. Having no one to share anything with or care for her when she was hurt. No one to come back to when she was dead tired after a day of training. No one to comfort her when she was scared, she had to depend on herself for so long. For the longest time she thought all the grueling training and lonely nights had meaning. That she was working toward some kind of purpose. But she wasn't, it was all just so Glossaryk could have the portals open.

She felt so stupid for falling for something like this for so long and pretending what she was doing was important. Nothing good really came of it and she felt more alone with the commission than when she was actually alone. The only good day she had was…..

Without warning Hekapoo facial expression changed from a solemn and anguished look to a pensive longing one. Her heart began to pound just like the first day she realized she fell for him. Every bad memory she had stored away now had a match. The loneliest day she could remember now had matched the day she felt so much love. The day Marco slipped up and said he couldn't live without her was a day she could never forget. In all the years she had been alive no one had ever expressed how much they wanted to be with her. When it first happened she didn't know what to think or how to respond to the way he was making her feel but it was amazing and she didn't want it to stop.

Her most hurtful moment matched with her most cherished where Marco carried her bridal style back to one of her hideouts after she sprained her ankle. She chucked to herself when she remembered asking him when he got so strong to carry anything other than a book. Even then she could see he was becoming a man. There was also something between them that they never stopped to address between their adventures. Something raw and primal yet pure and simple.

Before she knew it she came to realize what all the sly remarks, flirty chasing and playful combat all was. Despite the six years he disappeared there wasn't a single day that she gave up hope on him because there wasn't a single person she loved and trusted more. Even with her powers gone and emotionally drained she never feared being alone. Because the man she loved lived in her heart and she knew he was coming back.

Hekapoo took a deep breath before giving Glossaryk a serious look.

"I'm going to be honest, I don't forgive you" she said sternly

Glossary shot her a defeated look, trying to compose himself as she looked away.

"Oh, I understand, I wouldn't either…"

"But…" Hekapoo said looking away from him

"I don't want my kids, not knowing their grandfather" she claimed, embarrassed to look him in the eyes.

Glossaryk gave her a wide grin as he wiped tears from his eyes.

"I, won't make the same mistake twice" he stated

"Don't worry I won't let you" she said sternly

"Already the protective momma hen I see" he joked smiling

Hekapoo's cheeks flushed red as she walked ahead of him in the direction her children ran off to.

"Shutup, now are you coming or not I want to see how they grew up" she said with slight smile

A/N: The next few chapters are already done, but I noticed a sharp decline in readers so posting them hasn't been high on my priority list. I like using FF as a private archive for my stories so I'll probably go back to that ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
