Emilie walked through the mansion towards her son's room, a small blue kwami talking animatedly on her shoulder.

Emilie smiled as she listened to her friend. Duusu had a way of being excited over even the dullest thing, and Emilie loved that about her.

When Emilie reached Adrien's door and knocked, Duusu paused in her story. Emilie chuckled, because she knew Duusu would pick it back up later, and her excitement wouldn't have diminished in the slightest.

A soft call of "come in" issued through the doors, Emilie opened them to find Marinette and Adrien sitting on his couch playing a video game. Based on the look on her son's face, Marinette was clearly winning.

A change in the music that signaled the end of the match was greeted with a groan from Adrien, while Marinette jumped up with her arms above her head as she let out a victory shout.

Emilie laughed softly. It was good to see them relax a bit. Now that she was there to take some of the pressure off of them on the business front, Adrien had slowly become more like his old self, carefree and happy. He had been forced to grow up so fast, something she didn't think she could ever forgive Gabriel for, but she was so proud of the man her son had become.

"I'm going out on patrol. I had been going to ask if you wanted to join me, but I can see you're busy." Emilie said with a smile.

Adrien bit his lip, and glanced at Marinette. They had planned a quiet night in to just hang out and enjoy each other's company after the relaunch, but he really did want to patrol with his mom.

Marinette saw his dilemma, and nudged him with her shoulder. "Go on. We can hang out later. Go spend time with your mother."

Adrien broke into a grin. He loved that girl, and how well she understood him. She was… Purrfect. His grin widened at the thought of what her reaction would be if he said that aloud. He had recently discovered that her reactions to puns made punning even more fun than he remembered it being.

Standing, he made an elaborate bow. "Well then, milady…" He took her hand and placed a gentle kiss on it. "We will have to finish this another time."

Before he'd even released her hand, he had called for his transformation. "Plagg, claws out!"

From the doorway Emilie called, "Duusu, spread my feathers!"

And before Marinette could so much as blink, the two heroes were out the window and had vanished into the night.

Marinette stood up and stretched. She was glad that Master Fu had decided to let Emilie keep the peacock miraculous. Duusu adored her.

Marinette's thoughts drifted to Master Fu, and the other miraculous holders. Since there wasn't any real threat at the moment, the guardian had been tempted to remove the miraculous from circulation completely. Plagg had quickly put a stop to that. He refused to leave Adrien, and he also refused to allow Tikki to be put back in the box.

Adrien and Marinette however, were the ones responsible for convincing him to keep the others in circulation. They had suggested that regular patrols would make the city safer, and that allowing the other heroes to keep their miraculous with them would decrease response time in an emergency. They eventually changed his mind, and they were now responsible for coordinating regular patrols of the city.

The newest addition to their team, Mylene, was bittersweet for Marinette, since Mylene was now the holder of the mouse miraculous. Marinette missed Mullo, but she knew that Mylene was the perfect holder for her. That, and Master Fu believed that Marinette could better serve the team as Ladybug.

Shaking herself from her thoughts, she looked at Tikki, who was hovering near her shoulder. "Well Tikki, since our night just got freed up, do you want to help me bake some cookies?"

Tikki's eyes lit up. "Of course! What kind shall we make? Macarons? Chocolate chip? Oh, if we make chocolate chip," Here she lowered her voice to a whisper. "Can we eat some of the cookie dough?"

Marinette laughed. "Of course we can."

A few months later, there would be a break in at the Chinese massage parlor, and the butterfly pin would be stolen. But that's another story. For now, all was well. Their enemy was defeated, Adrien and Marinette had truly become partners, and the lost miraculous had been found. For now, life was good

ORIGINAL FINAL AN: And that's the end! Thanks for reading! Originally this was going to be a majorly out of universe thing that stuck closer to the myth, where Marinette would be in love with Adrian, but forced to marry Chat Noir, only for Alya to convince her to learn his identity. She would then lose him, and have to spend the rest of the story undergoing trials to prove she was worthy of him, eventually receiving her miraculous to parallel Psyche's ascension to goddess. Obviously, the final version ended up being closer to the show, and a bit more in character. I'm really happy with where it went, but I still love the original concept and wanted to share it, and that's what Author's notes are for. Hope you enjoyed the story!

AN2: I hope everyone enjoyed the edited ending. I'm much happier with it. Thanks JuliaFC for being the kick in the butt I needed to not be lazy, and give it the ending it deserved! I hope this lived up to your expectations.
