Leni was looking at the store and finding that massage chair, and she was thinking about her mother's words about spending her five grand wisely, and about the next best thing being only "a minute away". The new superhero took those words into her brain well, and she looked around for other nice things to spend or buy around here, and there was many more intriguing things that looked very nice and amazing for her eyes. As she was looking for some more stuff that she would want to purchase with her money. Suddenly, she couldn't help but overhear a certain conversation that caught her off-guard. "I just don't understand it." it sounded new to Leni's ears.
She peeped over one of the shelves and it was a woman with her husband and kids
"I just cannot get the proper funds to help all of those children. If we don't do something, they are going to die." Leni sounded confused and concerned at the same time. "Without the money they will really starve and have no food." Leni frowned and went over to the other side of the shelf, and she gently patted the lady's left shoulder
"Excuse me, miss." Leni said, "But what's wrong?"
"Oh. Poison Ivy Leni." the husband recognized. "It's quite a pleasure." he then gently shook hands with her. "And yeah, there is actually something wrong. But, I don't think you should worry about it."
"No, tell me, what is it?"
"We are part of an organization called: Food for Africa, and we are responsible for sending boundless, plentiful food to many people across all countries of Africa that can't afford to feed themselves. Burkina Faso, Senegal, Mauritania, Ghana, Sierra Leone, you name them." the lady said. "I am Phyllis Senghor, and my husband is Raphael Senghor."
"Enchante." said Raphael.
"Oooh. So what's the problem." Leni asked
"We have been having money troubles recently." Phyllis explained. "Normally, we are always able to do our jobs in sending food and money to Africa, but the tax rates had gone up recently, and we can't afford to send all the shipments we have to all these countries."
Leni felt guilty and sympathetic hearing that. "Well, i wish there was something I can do to help."
"You do not have to worry about us." said Phyllis, "we will be fine. We can always find another solution to help our organization."
"But we are running out of options, my love." Raphael pointed to his wife.
A new idea came in Leni's head, and shs snapped her finger with a smile. "Mr and Mrs Senghor, I think i have an idea." Leni said. "But i need to go into the bank first and deposit my money.
"Of course, Leni. Always a pleasure meeting a hero in this city." Raphael said.
"But, can gou give me your business card so I can help you and your organization." Leni sounded determined to help the starving children in all those African countries starve to death. She was gifted with the card that said: "World for Africa." On it. "Perfect. Thanks. I'll be right back."
The new hero then went to a nearby ATM machine and cashed her check into dollar bills. After it was successful, she went back to the family to give them the five grand so they can afford the food deliveries in the food drive. "you're back." said Phyllis. "What were you doing?"
"Well, i was going to buy myself a nice massage chair, but... i see how you guys are struggling, i'll give you this to help out, and... i hope it's enough to help those poor, hungry people in those African countries." she handed them the five grand reward money and the couple, and their children were very surprised and pleased to see such generosity. "Please take it. I insist."
"Really?" said Raphael. "Oh, we couldn't accept it."
"Really. They need it more than I do." Leni persisted. "Just trust me. It should be enough to help you guys." Raphael and Phyllis smiled and they were absolutely touched and they couldn't be any happier to be given such a miracle. "I know this can help you guys."
Raphael then said: "Thank you so much, Leni. Me and your wife cannot thank you enough for this."
"Yes. We are absolutely grateful for your act of kindness." Phyllis added. "What do you kids say to our new superhero?"
The three kids said: "Thank you, Poison Ivy Leni."
The perky teenage girl smiled and said: "You're welcome, sweeties."
"This should be enough to help us send the food and gifts to all those people." Phyllis said. "Thank you so much, Leni. We are all very grateful that you have given us this miracle. Keep hold of our business card. And you should spread the word about our wonderful organization." Leni looked at her business card and put it in her right glove for safe keeping.
"It was a pleasure meeting you, Leni." said Raphael. Well, we need to continue our family shopping." he and his family bid Leni a farewell (possibly a temporary farewell), and they continued shopping. Leni was a little sad that she is not able to buy herself the massage chair. But, she was happy to help that family and their wonderful organization to help stop hunger and malnourishment in countless African nations, and she was proud of herself for that." It was thanks to her golden heart that this family she had just met will be able to help their group in this aid for Africa, and sometimes it was better to give than to get.
After she went home, she was greeted by her parents. "So how did it go, Leni?"
"Did you buy anything good with the money?" Lynn Sr asked
Leni took a little breath and explained to them how she met the African family at the store, and how she helped their organization in helping the hungry people in the Dark Continent. The parents sounded quite surprised and the second-eldest daughter showed them the Senghor's business card that tells the parents about the organization and their purpose in life. Rita and Lynn Sr were a little surprised to hear about this, but they were also proud of her for being thoughtful.
Leave it to Leni to have a heart of gold. "Well Leni, I am so proud of you." Rita said, hugging her daughter.
"So am I, sweetheart." Lynn Sr added. "You and that big heart of yours, sweetie."
"Is that a good thing?' Leni asked
"of course it is." said Rita.
"You really are a hero. Say, how would you like to have some pizza later as a celebration for your accomplishment?"
"That would be great!" Leni replied
"Pizza?" the other kids heard the word. They all came in the living room, all excited to have pizza as if they were all dogs begging for food. "Who's going to make the call?" Lori asked
"Relax kids, be patient. I'll order the pizza." the father chuckled before picking up the phone. He ordered a total of six pizzas for the kids and when it arrived, all the siblings took the liberty of eating down as much pizzas as they could. It was so delicious and a few of the pets got their share of the pizza as well (mostly the pizza crusts). "Well, hungry much?"
"We just love pizza, pops." Luna said before giving out a loud burp. "Pardonez-moi." After everyone had all their pizza, Leni was looking at the crime map that Lisa had given her for emergencies and there was nothing at all to report.
"Well Leni, that was cool. You donated the five grand to that organization?"
"Yep. I wanted to help those people. Especially those children over in Africa." Leni said. "Giving them money to have food in the country."
"Actually, Africa's a continent, Leni." Lincoln said
"Oh."
"Well you are really a hero for doing that." Lincoln commended her. "I'm proud of ya. Although I wish there would be a supervillain for you to fight and it would be more interesting."
"I don't know if I would be ready to face a supervillain." Leni looked a little uncertain of what Lincoln said. Of course, it would be a little understandable since she recently got her plant powers and only held on to them for a little while now. There wasn't really any supervillain with powers running amok right now, so she wouldn't really have to worry about it.
Lincoln gave her a reassuring touch on her right shoulder. "Don worry. As long as you keep on training and practicing your powers, you will have the greater chance of fighting the bad guys. I know you can beat them."
Leni smiled and hugged him tenderly. "Thanks, Linky. That really helps me a lot" she even gave him a kiss on the forehead. "You really are the best brother ever." Suddenly, she got a phone call on her cell, and it said anonymous on it, which was rather fishy. "Hold on a second." she picked up her phone and answered it
"Is this Poison Ivy Leni?" Said a male voice."
"Yes, who might I ask is calling me?"
"The Royal Woods humane society. We have a very big problem. All of our animals have been stolen and taken."
Leni gasped and she said: "the animals have been kidnapped? Don't worry. I'm on my way."
"Who was that?"
"The humane society. Their animals have been stolen."
"What? I better come with you." Lincoln said.
"I don't know, Linky, it could be dangerous."
"Come on. I really want to help you."
"Well, okay."
The kids went off to the humane society to see what the problem was, and when they got their, all the kennels and pens were empty. "Leni? Thank goodness you are here." said tbe manager of the place. We need your help."
"Who did this?" Leni asked
"These large men with white clothes came in and took every animal here." said another employee. "Then there was a teenage girl as their leader. They even left this note for you."
The manager gave the plant girl the paper and it read: "Leni, meet me at the old, abandoned warehouse at Corbin Avenue three miles southwest from here. I have a score to settle. Sincerely: Oblivia."
"Oblivia?" said Lincoln. "Is that a supervillain name?"
"Sounds like it." A female employee replied.
"Don't worry. We'll get them back." Leni said. The two kids took a cab over to the destination and they found it empty, even if it is the correct address. "How do we get inside?"
Lincoln looked around at area and said: "Oh! That door looks open. Could be dark in there though." He then pulled out his phone which had a flashlight on it, and the same with Leni's phone. Quietly and carefully, they navigated themselves inside the abandoned building and it was a little spooky.
Some abandoned buildings were known for having ghosts or spirits haunting the place, and the heroes hoped that there was no ghosts lurking around the area. They heard the faint sounds of many animal sounds from another room and they knew they were close to finding them.
"I hear barking and meowing." Lincoln whispered.
"Me too."
They slowly opened another door that creaked open and shined the light on many animals that varied from dogs, cats, ferrets, a few parrots, finches, and other types of animals that would normally be kept as pets. Along with many livestock like pigs, sheep, goats, and more.
"We found them!" Leni said.
"And I have found you, Leni." Said a familiar voice that Leni almost recognized. Suddenly, the lights flicked on and it revealed to be Oblivia and some of her henchmen. She was on one of the catwalks and she was laughing maniacally
