Hello, everyone! This is chapter 12 of the story and I hope everyone will enjoy it! So without further ado, let's start!
Normal POV
As they continued to escape from Golem through the sky, the others were discussing on a way to stop Golem on Zelel as Aichi turned to the Golem behind them.
" Ai, Au..."
" I know. We're just buying time." Kai replied
" Kai, what's going to happen now? Why can't we fight Golem?" Gaillard ask
" Do a bit of your own thinking for once, Gaillard. I don't have to explain everything to you. It's your problem that you can't understand Aichi's talk at all too." Kai said
" Huh?! You bastard!" Gaillard exclaimed
" ... Golem may have high inner furyoku levels, but it won't last forever. I'm not sure if those guys figured it out yet, but I'm sure that the reason Camel Munzer hasn't pulled a move on us yet is because either Golem is running out of furyoku or because his son is still here with us." Kai explained
" Then we can still do something with our powers." Gaillard said
" No. If we did, his daughter would die. Don't forget. Camel Munzer may be the one operating Golem, but he could only do that because he's possessing his own daughter's body. With our flames, she'll be burned to a crisp without any trace left. Aichi doesn't want that to happen." Kai said
" Au..."
" Aichi-san..."
Ren suddenly jumped over to Overlord as he came up towards them.
" Redseb is going to try to persuade his father to stop and we're planning to confuse him by dissolving the giant Oversouls and splitting up from the fall. When he can't attack, the giant Oversouls can come back again to catch us and use that chance to speed away from Golem." Ren said
" Will it really work?" Kai ask
" It all depends on our timing." Ren replied
" Suit yourself." Kai huffed
Ren jumped back onto Zelel just as Redseb steeled his determination after punching Horohoro on his crotch. Both Zelel and Overlord stopped flying as they turned to Golem, who had also stopped as well.
" ... Dad! It's me! Redseb! Please listen to me! Please, Dad!" Redseb shouted
" ... Damn it... I will not let you win...! I will...!" Munzer growled
" Dad...!"
" The one who will become Shaman King... is me! Emeth Blast!" Munzer yelled as the beam shot out again
" Dad..."
Ren and Lyserg got ready for their plan when a figure came in front of Redseb.
" It's alright if you did nothing. Because I'm the one that started it all." Chocolove said as he summoned a giant head statue and it blew the beam away
" ... Emeth Blast... was reflected..." Munzer exclaimed
" You're wrong. I used the Wind of Laughter to blow it away. My name is Chocolove McDaniel!" Chocolove declared
" Chocolove... Then this man is..." Ren exclaimed
" Maybe you haven't realized you're already dead... Three years ago, at Christmas, I killed you! But... What seems to be the problem?" Chocolove ask
The others froze in shock as Kai's eyebrows twitched in annoyance.
" There's a lot of things wrong with it..." Gaillard muttered
" How can you say that...? When did you suddenly become so aggressive?!" Horohoro exclaimed
" Finally awake, Horohoro? Looks like you increased your furyoku level. So... is your crotch better?" Chocolove ask as he turned to him with a thumbs up
Horohoro remained silent as he covered his crotch area.
" ... I'm... already dead?" Munzer repeated
" Tsk! It seems you guys can't do anything without me... But don't worry... I'll deal with Golem for you!" Chocolove said
" He's Chocolove alright, but not completely the same..." Ren said
" He looks a lot stronger..." Horohoro added
" And that Oversoul...?" Lyserg exclaimed
" Chocolove was revived...?!" Redseb exclaimed
" Mic, come! Let's fight together!" Chocolove said as he kicked the Golem before landing on Zelel, " Give me my claws. The ones for my Guardian Spirit. They are there, right? Yeah, I can feel them."
" Chocolove... You would have become..." Amidamaru exclaimed
" I have to win quickly. We'll deal with my problems later." Chocolove said as he took his claws back and went back to fighting Golem
" ... Kai, you don't think he could've..." Gaillard said
" He decided this for himself. It's his fight from now on. We have no right to interfere with a fight he started." Kai said
" Ai..."
Kai patted Aichi's head as he leaned on his chest and slowly dozed off. Kai noticed this and sighed, managing a tiny smile as he went back to watching the fight between Golem and Chocolove as he fused both Mic and Pascal Avaf for a Double Oversoul, Jaguarman. When the fight was reaching its climax, two familiar red and blue Onis hit both Chocolove and Golem away from each other as the others who were still watching, had their mouths left agape.
" You're playing a dangerous game. You know that if you fight each other, you're not going to leave unharmed. In a battle, everyone gets hurt." Anna said
" Run for it! Every man for himself!" Horohoro exclaimed
" Who is that?" Lyserg ask
" I can't believe this girl actually did that..." Gaillard muttered
" This fight just became meaningless in a second..." Kai muttered as he watched Yoh fainting again after Anna had stomped on his wound, " ... This group of people are definitely weird."
" Hmph! Fun time is over! It's time to finish dealing with you." Anna said
Munzer declared his loss as Golem had ran out of furyoku and released Seyram from his possession. Anna quickly stopped Munzer from self destructing the Golem as she told him about her intention to use Golem after Munzer had taught her the method to restore Golem's furyoku.
" ... All's well that ends well, I guess...?" Gaillard said
Kai shrugged as he got ready to call out Overlord again when all of them started sensing a strong malicious intent.
" What is it now?!" Horohoro exclaimed
" A strong presence...!" Lyserg exclaimed
" Where is it coming from?" Ren wondered
" ... Over there!" Gaillard exclaimed as he shot his flames into the forest
Black mist swallowed his blue flames as Gaillard clicked his tongue and the figure stepped out from the shadows.
" Void...!"
" Oh well. I thought I had hid my presence well enough." Void said
" As if! Not with that malicious presence you were spewing out!" Ren said
" But you didn't sense me up until the end of that pointless fight anyway." Void said
" Cut the crap! What are you here for?!" Horohoro ask
" Huh? I thought you would know by now." Void replied
" Don't try anything funny! You're not coming any closer to Aichi-san!" Gaillard said
Kai checked on Aichi as he had continued to sleep before inwardly heaving a sigh of relief.
" Me? I'm just here for a greeting. If you guys would just stop turning my Aichi into a baby, so that I can have a proper talk with him." Void said
" Talk?"
" You know. I want your team to drop out of the tournament, then my team will drop out as well." Void said
" Are you joking?! Why would we do that?!" Gaillard ask
" Oh? Then you're not concerned about the situation in your own world?" Void ask
" Our friends are all there to keep fighting while we're here! To keep you away from Aichi-san!" Gaillard exclaimed
" But I'm still here anyway. My minions continue to fight in that world too. The balance is completely tilting to my favour without Aichi being there." Void said
" What?! Lies! Our comrade will never let that happen!" Gaillard exclaimed
" Cool as a cucumber as always, Toshiki Kai. You always are unmovable to these types of threat. But I know your one weakness and I'm sure you don't need to guess what it is." Void said as he bent down and grabbed a stone, throwing it at full force as Kai quickly used his hand to block it from hitting the still asleep Aichi, " See?"
" Kai!"
" It's just a flesh sound, doesn't hurt anyway." Kai said as he checked on Aichi to make sure he was still sleeping, " What were you trying to do?"
" Nothing. I'm just making a point. Also, instead of waiting for our fateful match in the tournament, why don't we settle our feud now? Me and you. You do have a score to settle with me, right?" Void ask as he drew a sword
" ... Gaillard, take care of Aichi." Kai said as he handed Aichi to Gaillard, " You're right, we do have a score to settle."
" Kai?! You can't be serious! You'll be killed!" Gaillard exclaimed
" I won't. Just make sure he doesn't wake up. We can't have him trying to use his powers." Kai said
" Kai!"
Kai took out a ring as Overlord appeared behind him.
" Overlord in Talisman."
Overlord roared as it fused with the ring and a crimson sword appeared.
" As expected. You really got the hang of things here. Then, it's my turn." Void said as a dragon also appeared behind him, " Chaos Breaker in Grail."
A grail appeared as Chaos Breaker fused with it and a scythe appeared.
" What do you think? Your old friend wanted a fight." Void said
" Doesn't matter. He's a thing of my past." Kai said
" I wonder how long you can keep up with that confidence. Let's begin." Void said as he lifted the scythe
Kai glanced back to Gaillard as he noticed it immediately and nodded.
" The injured should head back immediately and heal up. This fight will become rough soon." Gaillard said
" But we can't just leave you guys here!" Horohoro exclaimed
" You're out of furyoku anyway. Those who still have furyoku to spare should just hurry on back." Gaillard said
" ... O-Okay! We better see you guys tomorrow, safe and sound!" Horohoro exclaimed
" Let's hurry." Faust said
" Yeah!"
They got into Eliza as she flew off and both Kai and Void started clashing their weapons together.
" Gaillard, you head for cover too!" Kai shouted
Gaillard nodded as he went behind the bushes of the forest while Kai and Void continued to clash.
" This is amazing. As expected of Kagero's Vanguard." Void said
" What you did to Aichi last time... I can't forgive you for it!" Kai exclaimed
" What I did to him? What are you saying? He's rightfully mine, so I have every right to do whatever I want to him." Void said
" He was never yours!" Kai exclaimed
" And what makes you think he's yours then? You're just someone who is getting in the way of our marriage." Void said
" Marriage?! Aichi never wanted it! He never loved you!" Kai exclaimed
" He will, soon enough. I just need you pests to disappear. Once his will breaks, he would submit to me forever." Void said
" His heart and will are stronger than you would ever know of. I'm not going to let you do that to him!" Kai said
Void's eyes narrowed as he dodged Kai's sword and landed a hit with his scythe on Kai's arm, almost managing to slice it apart.
" Kai!"
" This is nothing...! Aichi suffered way worse than this...!" Kai exclaimed
" I commend your attitude. This was why I wanted you as our first Reverse fighter before, but you can never win against me." Void said
" Au..."
Their attention quickly changed to Aichi as his eyes started to open.
" Don't let him wake up!" Kai exclaimed
Before Gaillard could shield Aichi's eyes, his eyes had already opened wide as he started looking around the battlefield and at Kai's wound.
" Ai...? Au..."
" No, don't cry!" Kai shouted
Void quickly charged at Gaillard while he'd been distracted as he was thrown aside after getting sliced by the scythe.
" Gaillard!"
Aichi was caught by Void as his eyes started to water.
" Bai... Ai..."
" Aichi!"
" Cry, Aichi. Release that power." Void said
" No!"
Kai tried to run towards them as Aichi soon let out a loud cry. The field was immediately hit by a burst of light as Kai shielded his eyes, trying to open them as much as possible to look at Aichi.
" Aichi...!"
" Break that seal over yourself, Aichi. Revert back to your true form." Void said
The chains and lock appeared as they started to rattle and shake.
" Don't...!"
" Don't interfere." Void said as he swung his scythe again, releasing a black wind to blow Kai back, " ... Pests should stay down."
" Damn you, Void...!" Kai yelled
" Yamatano Orochi!"
Snake heads pierced through the light as they restrained Void while Aichi was picked up by them.
" An Oversoul...?" Gaillard wondered
" That's..."
" Zelel!"
A familiar angel Oversoul scooped them up as they were flown further away from Void while the light dissipated. Void looked up at the escaping figures as he smirked.
" You got lucky this time but you won't be that lucky next time, Toshiki Kai." Void said
Up in the sky, Kai and Gaillard heaved a silent sigh of relief as Aichi was brought down by Ryu's Oversoul.
" Aichi...! It's okay now...!" Kai exclaimed as he carried him with his uninjured arm
Aichi's cries started reducing to sniffles as his body released a dome of light around Kai and Gaillard, healing their wounds.
" ... You can stop now. Go back to sleep." Kai assured
The dome faded away once their wounds were completely healed as Aichi drifted back to sleep.
" ... Thanks. You guys helped us a bunch back there." Gaillard said
" We couldn't just leave you guys there after seeing that person. When that light appeared, we immediately headed back." Lyserg said
" How did you know it was going to become bad?" Gaillard ask
" For someone to have that much power, it's never good when he releases it all at once. It's a bad omen." Lyserg replied
" What kind of reasoning is that...?" Gaillard sighed
" Anyway, we're glad you're all safe." Ryu said
" Yeah."
" ... Can you bring us back to our accommodation? We'll head over to yours tomorrow morning, but for now, we need some rest." Kai said
" Okay."
Lyserg and Ryu sent them back to their accommodation as they thanked them again before closing the door.
" Takuto."
Takuto appeared at his call as Kai looked down at Aichi.
" Can you please release the seal? I have to talk to Aichi in his normal form." Kai said
" ... Just this once. When you're done, we'll have the seal put on again." Takuto said
" I'll leave you two to talk." Gaillard said
Kai nodded as he carried Aichi to their room and seal was quickly undone. Kai covered the blanket over Aichi as he started to grow back to his normal form and opened his eyes to look around.
" Kai-kun...?"
" Are you okay?" Kai ask as he patted Aichi's head
" What about you?" Aichi ask
" I'm healed up, thanks to you." Kai replied
" What a relief..." Aichi sighed as he slowly got up before throwing his arms around Kai's neck to nuzzle against him, " I'm so relieved...!"
" I'm sorry. I was reckless, I know that. But I can't help it when I thought back to how he'd treated you back then." Kai said as he carefully wrapped his arms around Aichi, " I couldn't forgive him."
" You could've died...!" Aichi cried
" I know. I'm really sorry. I won't let my emotions get the better of me again." Kai said
" I'm just glad you're safe." Aichi said
" ... We will face him again one day, Aichi. But I'm afraid that you..." Kai trailed off
" The scars from the past he had created will never fade so easily, but I can always overcome them if you're here." Aichi said
" Aichi..."
Out of nowhere, Aichi suddenly let out a sneeze as Kai muttered an apology and pulled up the blanket to cover his body.
" Sorry, you'll be reverting back soon, that's why..." Kai said
" It's okay. We really needed this small talk. You're going to tell them everything tomorrow morning, right?" Aichi ask
" Yeah. They need to know who they're up against. I had my suspicions that Yoh Asakura never told his friends anyway." Kai said
" Yeah... It's like him to not want them to worry yet. Just like what happened today with Golem." Aichi said
" That was troublesome, especially when you asked me and Gaillard to not fight it." Kai said
" Knowing you and him, you'll both burn it down without caring about Seyram's safety." Aichi said as he adjusted himself onto Kai's lap, " We couldn't let her die when she had been possessed by her father."
" That's true. It was tempting for me to ask Overlord to burn it down." Kai said
" Jeez! She's just a little girl!" Aichi pouted
" I know, I was just joking." Kai said
" But I'm glad... Chocolove-kun was revived and Seyram had been released from the possession. It wasn't a bad night." Aichi said
" Except for Void..." Kai said
" ... Promise me to not do that again." Aichi said
" I promise. No more recklessness." Kai said
Aichi nodded as he closed his eyes and slowly reverted back to his baby self. Kai settled him on the bed to allow him to contimje sleeping before going outside to check on Gaillard while the eventful night had started to come to an end.
